Some warm toned empties
Here’s some empties I’ve been accumulating over the course of 2020 so let’s talk about them. 😍 = I would definitely repurchase or have already 🙃= I’m on the fence about it 💀 = Did not working for me 🙃 Kate Somerville + Retinol Firming Eye Cream- This one wasn’t bad but I didn’t notice a huge difference in firming or texture around my eyes and for the price tag ($85) I wouldn’t buy again. I also prefer a richer eye cream...especially at night and this one was a little lightweight for me. 😍 Drunk Elephant C Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream- I’ve been through about three bottles of this now and I’m obsessed with it. Nothing helps with my dark circles like this one does and it’s the most plumping firming eye cream I’ve ever used and is so so moisturizing. 10/10 recommend this one it’s the best eye cream I’ve ever used and my favorite Drunk Elephant product. 😍 A’Pieu Milk and Honey Lip Sleeping Pack- I really liked this one! Laneige is typically my favorite and this is a great dupe for it. The consistency just has a little more slip to it and it’s also half the price. 🙃 Sunday Riley CEO Glow- This one I’m on the fence about. I had some trial sizes of this and I used it when I was traveling and loved it. It gave my skin such a beautiful glow and I was getting so many compliments on how great my skin looked. However when I bought the full size and used it in a warmer climate in California where I live, it was a little too rich for my liking and my skin got oily throughout the day. I think if you live in a colder, drier climate your skin will love this. 🙃 Tarte Youth or Dare- This one is an exfoliating and brightening L Abscorbic Acid Vitamin C serum. The ingredients are amazing and comparable to Drunk Elephants C Tango. My skin looked bright while using this product but not...any brighter than usual if that makes sense. I just wasn’t especially wowed by it. 😍 Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Oil- I’ve been through three bottles of this and I really love it. It’s lightweight and sinks into the skin almost immediately but still incredibly moisturizing. Gives my skin a beautiful glow and makes it super soft but without any greasiness.
DRUNK ELEPHANT-C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream
Beautiful Acid and C Serum
I had honestly never tried any skincare from Tarte before this, I really thought of them as a makeup brand. Tested it out in Sephora and ended up loving the texture. It’s a smooth fluid consistency that goes on really nice and leaves one hell of a glow. Whenever I use this in the morning I have to stop for a sec and look at myself in the mirror like damn sis! It does feel a bit tacky like a lot of Vitamin C serums do at first but once it dries down and absorbs a bit it’s perfectly fine. Notable ingredients; a double shot of Vitamin C, glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid and apple extract. These all work to brighten, smooth, help with pigmentation issues and reduce the look of pores. Would recommend this if you’re into brightening and reviving dull skin or just love acid products like me.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
