Out with the old and in with the new!
I’m in love with this brand for all things hair. I’ve been through 2 tubs of the Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask (📍) and when I went to re-buy, it was sold out, so I decided to try something new! These masks are pretty different in my opinion, different in texture, smell, and what they do for my hair. The Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask (📍) makes my hair feel softer where as the Briogeo - Be Gentle, Be Kind Avocado + Kiwi Mega Moisture Superfoods Hair Mask makes my hair shine so much more, and makes it feel really hydrated, this mask is also a lot thicker than the first one, and it smells like sour candy. Overall, I love both of these masks sooo much. What’s your favourite hair mask?💚 📍= product was sent to me for free

Best hydrating duo ✨
Just wanna share my love for this duo! I have been using these for a while and since they came out with a holiday kit I bought like 3 of the sets! 😂 My curls (and scalp) LOVES these two! The only issue is that they’re not any bigger 😂 if you haven’t tried these and you’re looking for a scalp exfoliant and a deep conditioner that will restore your hair these are the ones got you! The scalp shampoo has small beads that gently exfoliates your scalp! It has a minty scent too! Also @briogeo products are free of all the nasties chemicals! 😉Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo

Battle of the amika masks
I have bleached hair and I recently got really serious about fixing the state of it (because 2020 has become the year of self care). I’ve tried everything from Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask to OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector and nothing really got along well with my dry, brittle ends. Soulfood was next to try on my list and when I mention it to my hair stylist she produced these and told me to give The Kure a try too since I was looking for something restoring. Let me just say- I am obsessed! I was hoping to try the smaller bottles and favour one over the other but to my surprise I want the jumbo tubs of both. I’ve seen a lot of talk around amika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask so I’m not surprised that it was a godsend. It’s thick and buttery and leaves my hair super soft. It can be left on and used as a mask or it can be rinsed quickly as a daily conditioner. The only downside I found was that after using it as a mask it felt like a little bit oily (which is why I knocked a star off), but overall my hair was silky soft and my ends were less frayed. This almost makes your hair like a sheet of silk which might be weighing down if you have fine hair. amika: - The Kure Intense Repair Mask surprised me more than soulfood, I will say. I’ve seen it bouncing around here and it was always good but not the best. I thought this was a game changer for my hair personally. Unlike soulfood, this one is reco’d straight as a mask for weekly use. It’s suggested to leave it on for 10 mins or so but I like to do an hour or two (I’m working from home and I’m masking a LOT more simply because I can). This one rinses out so nicely and doesn’t leave any oily slick feeling. My hair is so soft and bouncy! It feels and looks so healthy and due to its repairing abilities I know my hair not only looks healthier but is actually healthier. I can go days with a blowout that still moves freely and isn’t frizzy, dry or weighed down. I’ve already ordered a larger size of the Kure and I’ll be doing the same with soulfood after the mini I got in my amika: - Brooklyn Hustle Haircare Bestsellers Starter Set is gone (I’m going to do a review for amika: - Perk Up Talc-Free Dry Shampoo as well) !

Favorite cleansers & current haircare!
CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask The Innate life Shampoo&Conditioner ( was not linked :( ) Hey guys! I haven’t done a post in a while. I hope you are all doing well. I can’t believe it’s already December! Wow! I live in Minnesota and for ONCE there still has not been any snow which makes me really sad because it’s not December without snow :(. However it still has been very cold and I’ve currently have added some new products into my self-care routine! First picture- all 3 of those cleansers I have loved and recommend to other loved ones! I get a lot of people asking me what cleanser I use and I always give them those 3 options because they have been the ones to work best for my oily/combo skin! I recently finished the Fresh soy wash and am currently finishing up the YTTP one! The first cleanser I have ever tried has been Cerave and I swear by it so much! I understand not everything works for everyone but these 3 cleansers would definitely be my top best 3! Second picture- The Innate Life natural shampoo and conditioner, This is the first natural shampoo and conditioner brand I have ever used and I have got to say it works amazing for my hair! I love how clarifying yet non stripping the shampoo is, the conditioner is definitely a thin and lightweight consistency but has hydrated my hair very well! I have long thick curly hair and I try my best to stay away from products that contain bad chemicals and ingredients for my hair. I love this brand and will continue to purchase it for my hair. I have never done an in depth haircare routine for my hair so if you are interested let me know in the comments so I can go in depth in what products I use (: ! Third picture- Olaplex No. 3& Briogeo honey hair mask When I tell you how excited I got when Briogeo brought back their honey hair mask! I have never clicked so fast to order something EVER! I SWEAR by this mask. My hair is very dry thick curly low porosity hair and this stuff makes my hair soooo soft and it smells AMAZING! I love it so much, I love briogeo as a whole brand and I love how they formulate their products without sulphates & silicones ( I do not follow CG method but I prefer no sulphates!). I was so happy to order both olaplex No. 3 and the hair mask set and used together will make your hair feel & smell so good! (Like I said I can make an entire post about my haircare regimen if you are interested) Thank you so much for reading ! ❤️

🍯🧸Don’t Despair, Honey Bear!🪵
I’m a big Briogeo fan! Both me & my bf use a lot of their hair products. I’ve been using them for years, but recently got him more into taking care of his dry/brittle curly hair. I ordered him so many things to try, Olaplex & all kinds of repairing treatments, but Briogeo oils, masks & his personal favorite Briogeo - Farewell Frizz Rosarco Milk Leave-in Conditioning Spray totally transformed his hair! 🧸I was so excited to see the adorable Honey Bear back in stock! I never got to try it before! I believe this cutie is still limited edition & only available in this set, but I hope I’m wrong, because I will continue to repurchase! Briogeo - Merry Multi-Masking Kit Ft. Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Honey Bear Hair Mask $36/set of 3 hair masks I bought this as a very early xmas gift for both of us...🍯girl I neeeeded that honey bear! This would make a great holiday gift, or to split up as stocking stuffers for your fam! I only knock off a ⭐️because I really wasn’t into one them scent-wise, but that will not be everyone’s experience. 🎁Don’t forget to support black owned brands this holiday season! This giftset includes: One full size 8 oz Honey Bear & two 2 oz tubes 🪵🐻🍯Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask This is definitely my favorite. Not just because it’s so freakin cute, but the formula is great! I have thick wavy hair that needs a lot of hydration & moisture. This is it! Smells like real Honey, which is also the 8th ingredient. Honey is an excellent hydrator/natural humectant. The formula also contains moisturizing Argan, Almond, Avocado & Rosehip oils. It also has Apple & Ginseng extracts! I absolutely loved how soft & manageable my hair felt afterwards + my hair smelled so amazing & natural! 🥝🥑Briogeo - Be Gentle, Be Kind Avocado + Kiwi Mega Moisture Superfoods Hair Mask I also loved this formula so much! My hair was so soft afterwards & also smells amazing! Real Kiwi extract (9th ingredient) lends itself to this amazing Kiwi-Strawberry smoothie vibe. Avocado oil is the 8th ingredient. It’s very moisturizing & the color (of all 3) comes from natural sources. This crazy green likely comes from the beneficial Algae, Spinach, Aloe & Turmeric extracts. 🌹🥥Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask This just wasn’t it for me, I believe I’ve tried it a long time ago & I think it was reformulated. You can see in my swatches, that it isn’t quite as thick as the other 2. It started to slide off my arm where the others didn’t budge. Besides simply not performing as well as the others, the smell really bothered me. I’m not opposed to fragrance especially in hair products, but this was very harsh. It could be a personal thing because it made feel like I couldn’t breathe well & kinda sick to my stomach. Has that sort of sharp cut grass smell. It lasted on my hair too.☹️

Get that soft, shiny, glossy hair in 60 seconds!
✨Happy Thursday, beauties!✨ If you are impatient like me but want to achieve shiny and soft hair instantly, this post is for you! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 There’s at least one option available on the market that I know of and tried that gives this quick amazing results. amika: - Flash Instant Shine Mask is packed with ingredients such as: Hydrolyzed Flax Seed, which softens the hair and provides a healthy shine; Red Wine Extract, which helps to hydrate and fight frizz; and Amino Acid Complex, which smoothens the hair. Texture: It is a lightweight fluid that is transparent in color. It foams up a little bit like a normal mask would, and it is the best smelling hair product I’ve ever used! The smell is a mix of fruity and floral! It is heavenly!!! How to use: I use this after I shampoo, in place of a conditioner. It’s advised to squeeze out water from the hair and then apply the product from mid-length to end. Leave it for 60 seconds, then rinse off. Performance: I love this product so much! It makes my hair softer, shinier and luscious. I have less fly aways and it is definitely more manageable. And man, I cannot stop touching and smelling it, my husband loves it too! Also, it feels like my hair is lighter, that it dries faster than usual. Have you tried this mask before? Did you like it as much as I did? ⬇️⬇️⬇️

How I’m removing all that dry shampoo buildup 💕
Amika has completely taken over my shower and I’m 100% here for it. 💕 #AmikaGiftedMe their amika: - Reset Charcoal Detoxifying Scalp Cleansing Oil for a healthy scalp! This cleansing oil retails for $25 and contains French pink clay, charcoal, and oxygen. It’s meant to be used as a pre-shampoo treatment to remove dirt and build up without stripping. This product is super easy to use! I started sectioning my hair and using the convenient nozzle tip. After applying to the roots I massaged it in and waited a few minutes for it to break down any buildup. I was really happy when it easily washed out of my hair which was a concern of mine never using a cleansing oil before. Usually I go in with my shampoo twice but with using this I only felt the need to use one round. It has that light, classic Amika smell to it which I enjoyed. After I air dried my hair my hair was so soft and felt clean. I can have issues with my scalp at times due to my eczema where it can get irritated easily or itchy and this didn’t strip it at all. It felt soothed and clean. I’m really happy with how my hair looks after using it and something I will definitely be using weekly (especially because your girl uses a lot of dry shampoo!). ✨ https://www.octoly.com/c/hfcwt/r/hb153

COMBINATION HAIR CARE ROUTINE 💆🏽‍♀️
Combination hair; it’s so little talked about but many of us are dealing with it! What is it: Combination hair is usually when an individual has an oily scalp with dry ends. This translates to the oils from the scalp are having trouble working their way down to the ends. Who is more prone to have this hair type: -curly hair -frizzy hair -long hair How I care for it: -It’s important to realize you are essentially trying to treat 2 different hair types at once. (Ex: Using hair products for dry hair will not help the oiliness.) -SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER : instead of using the same shampoo and conditioners. Buy a clarifying shampoo specified for oily hair and a moisturizing conditioner for dry ends. I shampoo and condition 2x a week. -MASKING: it makes sense to use 2 different hair masks for the two different concerns. I mask 1x a week. For my scalp I use a clarifying mask in the shower and for my ends, I apply a moisturizing repair mask to damp hair. -CARE TIPS: * use a detangler spray on your hair before brushing out. It will help cause less damage. * Use a boar bristle brush daily to help spread the natural scalp oils down the skin. * Use a wide tooth comb in the shower after conditioning. * On those days where your scalp is looking a little greasy, opt for a dry shampoo. * On those days you want more shine to your ends, use a hair oil. Just make sure not to apply to the scalp! I have been sticking to this routine for about a month and I have noticed less knots and tangles, shinier ends and a more manageable oily scalp. Products used: Shampoo:NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Activated Bamboo Charcoal & Purple Moonstone Restore & Reclaim Shampoo Conditioner:NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Naturals Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon Repair & Protect Conditioner ( this product smells so so good! Clarifying mask:RAW SUGAR - Pure Scalp Treatment Moisturizing mask:Maui MOISTURE - Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Hair Mask De-tangler: drybar - Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler Dry shampoo:NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tinted Dry Shampoo-Light to Dark Brown I’m am pretty new to caring for combo hair so if you have any tips, please share 🥰

How I fully transitioned and grew my 4b/c hair
My hair journey is something that means a lot to me. As a child I was always known to have hair so long it reached the middle of my back. Whether my hair was curly, straight, braided or in twists it generated a lot of talk. That’s why when I went natural and lost basically all the length that I somewhat had it was such a shocker. I was natural as a child before I began to get a relaxer at around 3rd grade. It was needed since my mom had just gotten over breast cancer for a second time and my long thick curls were too much for her to take care of. My hair still retained its length, even as I went into middle school but once I hit 9th grade I’d realized something. My length was gone. Now I will say SOOOO many hair mistakes were made when I began doing my own hair in high school. I put too much heat to it, I manipulated it too much, and I didn’t care about my strands enough. I honestly don’t know at what point I realized I wanted to go natural but at the end of my sophomore year I did. My mother who is a very traditional black woman when it comes to hair made it crystal clear there was no way in hell I was getting the big chop I wanted. Because of this I was forced to transition over. I vividly remember the first product I used as a natural being SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie this served a good purpose since my number one goal at the time was curl definition. I don’t mind that as much anymore because I have come to terms with the fact that my hair type is NOT loose curls. Since quarantine that goal has changed. My goal I’m March went from “how do I get my hair to curl” to “okay how do I retain length and keep my hair healthy” and I knew my answer. Braids. I’ll be the one to say I absolutely LOVE braids but I HATE getting them professionally done for so many reasons. The main one being when my scalp gets too dirty the braids gotta go. That is a problem when braids cost 100 and I’m over them in a month 🗿. This pushed me to doing my own braids minus the braiding hair. Every two-three weeks I take my braids out, condition my dry dirty hair, wash the conditioner out, wash my hair, deep condition, and prep my hair for braids. Sometimes I blow dry my hair before I braid it (because I want the length😗) and sometimes I just braid my coily hair as is. This has helped keep my hair healthy and grow it all quarantine. These are the products I’ve used: AFRiCAN PRIDE - Olive Miracle Anti-Breakage Leave-in Conditioner AFRiCAN PRIDE - Olive Miracle Anti-Breakage Growth Oil DOO GRO - Mega Thick Hair Oil ECOCO - Eco Style Argan Oil Gel ECOCO - Eco Style Professional Styling Gel Black Castor & Flaxseed Oil cantu - Argan Oil Leave-In Conditioning Repair aussie - Miracle Moist 3 Minute Miracle with Avocado for Dry Hair Repair Maui MOISTURE - Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Hair Mask Aunt Jackie's - Don't Shrink Elongating Curling Gel

Hair Revival
As a redhead, I’ve always taken great pride in my hair. However, it wasn’t till quarantine that I actually started taking care of it. I have 2B hair that is prone to frizz, I used to use drug store brands and would wash my hair daily due to my vigorous workout routine. I started washing it every other day, and while that helped, it wasn’t until I found new products and a new routine that I can actually say I’m happy with my hair. Here is my entire routine! Wash day: Shampoo and condition: Redken All Soft - it is hard to go wrong with this shampoo and conditioner, good for all hair types Post shower: I start by combing through a pump of jojoba oil thru the bottoms 3/4 of my hair with my fingers then I use IGK - Good Behavior 4-in-1 Prep Spray (my miracle product, ideal for blow outs, but still helpful when air drying) next IGK - Thirsty Girl Coconut Milk Anti-Frizz Leave-in Conditioner (a must leave in conditioner for my curly friends) and then I finish with VERB - Ghost Oil on my ends Once a week instead I use: IGK - First Class Detoxifying Charcoal Shampoo to help with product build up and VERB - Ghost Hair Mask to help with softness. These products work great! Thanks to the charcoal shampoo, an oily saturated scalp is a thing of the past. And the ghost mask smells of lovely sandalwood and my hair is so smooth after, it’s mesmerizing. Non-shampoo days: If I have a light workout I normally just use IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo before and after my workout. Best dry shampoo I have ever used. The charcoal really helps with the sweat. Now if I did my typical 5 mile run and weights, I need something a little more powerful to help me out. I start by using IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo prior to working out, this helps to absorb the oil as you workout. After my workout, I rinse in the shower with IGK - Smoke & Mirrors this is the next best thing to shampooing! My hair feels clean afterwards, however, it doesn’t strip your hair and dry it out. I follow with my normal post shower routine, however I skip the jojoba oil. I also started adding a scoop of collagen powder to my first cup of coffee. I mainly started using it because at 23, I’ve already been running nearly every day for 9 years 😅 so my joints need all the help they can get; however, I think it’s helped in making my hair stronger. My hairdresser noticed an extreme difference in my hair, which was all the confirmation I needed to continue on this pursuit.

Verbs the word, for hair masking anyway...
I received my December Birchbox (FiNaLlY) on Saturday! Despite the delay, I do remain grateful for the United States Postal Service for I know they are doing their very best with the uptake in holiday deliveries. Anyway, inside my Birchbox was the Verb Ghost Hair Mask and I decided to apply it while I was in the shower today and let it do it's job while I shaved. The smell was delightful, not unlike thier other hair products, if you've ever used them. The scentl was not overpowering; it was light and nice. When it came time to rinse the mask off, it rinsed away easily, like I was rinsing out conditioner. My hair felt nice and smooth. I got out of the shower and blow dried my hair and it looked pretty good but I had plans on pumping up the volume with my heatless curlers (see pics)! I could really tell my hair had been treated because it wanted to slide out of the curlers when usually it sticks in them with no problem. When I was done with the curlers I used my Not Your Mother's She's A Tease Volumizing Hair Spray to set the curlers and proceeded to do my makeup. When I was done with my make up I took my curlers out and combed out my hair to check out the final results of the Verb Ghost Mask and how it affected my hair do... I was happy with the end results (see pic). I wanted a healthier, smoother, head of hair and I'd say the product delivered. For $18 for the full size, it may be worth buying from my hair dresser the next time I go!! VERB - Ghost Hair Mask I give this 5 ⭐because I liked the smell and texture of the product and the ends results it had on my hair. I will be using this again. NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - She's A Tease Volumizing Hairspray I give this 5 ⭐ because this is my second can of this spray and it is great at giving me the volume I need in my hair. It's not too stiff and my hair still moves after spraying it so it still looks natural.

Another AMAZING Aussie product!!!
About a month ago I switched from using r+Co hair products to Bondi Boost to further my efforts to save my damaged hair!!! Don’t get me wrong. I liked the r+Co don’t get me wrong, but it was just not enough product for the price. Sooo I did some searching and feel upon this stuff called Bondi Boost at Ulta. Who is Bondi Boost?? Australian made Free from parabens Free from sulphates Cruelty-free Seals hair cuticles Prevents further damage Repairs split-ends Delivers softness & shine. No stickiness, no flakes, no silicone or build-up. ❤️They also donate 1% of their proceeds to the Australian children at The Children’s hospital in Westmead every year!❤️ Products I have! BONDI BOOST - Rapid Repair Shampoo COST- $23.95 For dry and damaged hair. Formulated to rapidly repair damaged hair, seal the cuticles and banish split ends by up to 60%* BONDI BOOST - Hair Growth Conditioner COST-$23.95 To repair and soften damaged hair. Also formulated like the shampoo for rapid repair. BONDI BOOST - Growth Miracle Mask COST-$24.99 Packed with nurturing oils including argan, abyssinian for moisture, macadamia which is strengthening, castor which is said to reduce hair loss and promote growth, and jojoba to fight frizzing. BONDI BOOST - Procapil Hair Tonic COST- $19.95 Leave in anti-hair loss treatment. MY EXPERIENCE ❤️❤️🙌🏻 Smell- If you know what hair smells like after you have washed and shampooed hair that was just box dyed, that’s what this smells like if you sniff the bottle. But it is not as fumey... and it is not the same on your hair it tones waaaaay down. They all smell the same except the hair tonic, that smells like coconut 🥥 probably because it contains coconut 🥥 oil! Value- Good amount of product for the price!!! Love the pumps with the shampoo and conditioner. Result AMAZING!! Feels- when I tell you that my hair felt amazing after the first time I just shampooed and used the hair mask.....I am not kidding you. I had way more results after one use with Bondi Boost than I did with a month with r+Co. Once I paired it with the tonic and the conditioner my results were just amplified. My hair is soft and shiny you can barely feel the damage in my ends. My hair looks better than it has in a very long time!!! The r+Co helped start the journey to healed hair but Bondi Boost set it in stone!!! ❤️🌟I am not shunning all other hair care but this really helped revive and reverse years of damage for me. My hair type is fine hair even though I have a lot of it.... and I have to wash it every 2-3 days or it’s pretty oily. Also with hormone changes and such. I am a huge fan of The Fox Tan which is another Australian product....maybe they know something we don’t!!! 😁🌟

🏷 My beauty goals!
I have never given this much thought before the Cherie push. Which at this point I find absurd that I have not given myself to make time for my personal goals. That happens a lot when you become a parent, and even more so when your a SAHP. Because since you don’t leave, you don’t try. I was all sorts of glam before kids, and 7 years later I have found my way back. The only thing I ever did for my skin was wash it every once in a while, and I steered clear of day light FOREVER!!! I was so white you could trace my veins. 😅 I do not regret my years of averting sun light, I feel like it helped not age as fast....but When I moved to Texas it was too hot to cover up that much!!! I had to let my skin see sunlight...but not without sunscreen!!!!🤗 I have done so much lately to help restore my skin and treating my hormonal acne that my goals were just about fixing everything. After some thought 💭, I have actually given myself some personal goals, an aspect that seems so foreign when all you do is think about others. ℹ️ QUICK PSA!!! It is not ok to forget to take care of yourself!!! Specially after kids have come along!!! You risk losing your identity, self worth, and your self image is left dragging behind. I know it is easier said than done, I am just now following my own advice!!!😬ℹ️ My New Beauty Goals!!! Hair Goals 2020!!!! Right now I am focused on reversing the effects of over a decade of box dyes, very little hair cuts, zero treatments, hormones, and stress. With the help of my new favs BONDI BOOST - Rapid Repair Shampoo and BONDI BOOST - Growth Miracle Mask (conditioner coming home soon!) I am on my way for sure!!!! To love myself no matter what skin-season I am in!!! With or without makeup 💄! Blemishes, marks, spots, and lines are evidence of life lived and battles overcome!!! Yes even acne...because for some it is stress induced. To be confident!! I have become a scared little home body that prefers text convos over voice because anxiety about everything takes over. That is one of the reasons I love this app. I have really found my voice, my niche, my people, and gained some confidence and self worth just doing reviews. ( Doing makeup 💄 videos was soooo out of my zone and I freaked out the first few times I posted). To remember that skincare is not just for my FACE!! And it’s not just about skin!!! It’s treating your body with care, filling it with good things and covering it with good things. I was pretty sick for a while, I was so thin people thought I had a terminal disease 🦠. And because I was sick inside, you could see it on the outside in my skin. My biggest goal is becoming more knowledgeable about the ingredients in the products we put on our skin. There are soo many gimmicks out there that do not have our best interests at heart 💜. I want to make sure I am not just hopping on bandwagons!!! I think that’s too many goals.....but it’s a big year for me!!! 🤗

Products + Styles for Long, Fine, Blonde Hair✨
As the title says, my hair is currently long, fine, and blonde (part natural, part bleach😜). Maintaining healthy hair while dealing with these elements can be tricky sometimes so I’m here to show you some of my favourite products for keeping my hair toned, long, and healthy. With my hair type, I mainly focus on hydration, repairing/prevention, toning, and texture (with my hair being fine + straight I like to give it a boost of texture). First up, let’s talk shampoo. I wash my hair about 2-3 times per week and I rotate between a purple shampoo, clarifying/detox shampoo, and a regular shampoo. What I’ve been using lately are - • KRISTIN ESS - The One Purple Shampoo this one works soooo well to tone all of the brassiness out of my hair AND it’s affordable. The one con IMO is it’s very heavily fragranced. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - Cocomino Glossing Shampoo this is what I’ve been using as a detox shampoo and it works pretty well - not the best and not the worst. It has a nice light scent and does leave my hair feeling very clean. Downside to this one is the price tag, it’s pretty expensive for such a small bottle. IGK - Low Key Cleansing Walnut Scalp Scrub I recently started incorporating a scalp scrub into my routine; this one works decently well but I have a hard time getting the product to my scalp. BUT if/when I do, I love the cooling peppermint feeling it leaves behind on my scalp. Next up, I try to use a mask or deep conditioner once a week. I’ve been using the eva·nyc - Therapy Session Hair Mask and it’s quite nice. It leaves my hair feeling soft and hydrated but again, it’s quite heavily fragranced which I don’t love. Now this next product is my holy-grail...seriously I am obsessed with it and sing its praises. The KEVIN.MURPHY - Kevin.Murphy Young.Again rescued my dead, bleached ends and brought my hair back to life and helped it to grow long and healthy for the first time in over 10 years. I don’t know what else to say...it’s magic and you need it. Lastly, some styling products I’ve been loving are - • davines - This is a Sea Salt Spray this isn’t a super drying salt spray like some I’ve tried in the past; it gives my hair some grip and texture without the crunchiness. It also has a light vanilla musk scent that I love! • KEVIN.MURPHY - Shimmer Me Blonde this spray contains violet reflects to help tone out brassiness in blonde hair and it’s sooo pretty. It’s like a light oil in texture and feels more like a treatment than a styling product - another Kevin Murphy product I’m in love with!! As for styles, some of my most worn are - • air dried • flat iron waves • half up pony • half up top knot • all up top knot • centre part • deep side part • scrunchies always What are your favourite hair products for your hair type?!

quench thirsty hair 💕
💕The eva·nyc - Therapy Session Hair Maskis a deep conditioning hair mask which promises to moisturize, repair and strengthen dry, damaged hair 💕ingredients in this mask Include keravis protein, buckthorn and Argan oil 💕i began running low on my Briogeo don’t despair, repair deep conditioner but my budget wasn’t allowing me to spend $36 to replace it 💕I saw the Eva nyc hair mask while browsing target ($14.49) and decided to give it a try especially since it has many positive reviews 💕so far I have only used it one time, as I still have some Briogeo left. Based on my first use, it did leave my hair feeling soft and allowed for easy detangling while in the shower. I may have to switch up what shampoo I pair it with though. 💕I will update in the future once I’ve used it a couple more times.

✨ My Go-To Hairstyle ✨
II have had A LOT of hairstyles in my time. My hair journey has ultimately been one of experimentation. I have never been one who was afraid to try different things and switch up my aesthetic to suit my mood. I first started experimenting with dyeing my hair. Then I experimented with a sew-in afro a la Corbin Bleu. I tried relaxing my hair and styling it into a 50’s style pompadour, and I even rocked a 7” tall high-top fade, so needless to say, I have had my fair share of looks. Ultimately what I learned through years and years of experimentation, is to learn how to truly see myself under the enhancements. Now, my go-to hairstyle is short, cropped, natural, and curly. My go-to products for healthy, luscious locks? My must-have is SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque with sea kelp and Argan oil. I love it because the texture of it is nicely whipped with enough weight to ensure proper moisture, but doesn’t leave your hair feeling heavy. This is what I use on my day to day hair care routine. It’s intended use is for a rinse-out hair masque, but my hair is really thirsty, so I use it as a leave-in conditioner I just need water and some deep moisture to activate my curls. Once I’ve done that I comb through my hair with a pick, pat dry any access product off, and use a texture sponge in circular motions to define my tight curls even further. When I need a good cleansing, my new favorite product is SUNDAY RILEY - Clean Rinse Clarifying Scalp Serum . It is super effective at cleansing any access oil and build-up from your scalp and leaves you with a super fresh and tingly feeling.

MORE BANG FOR LESS BUCKS
I have natural 4C hair and for a long time I felt like the only hair care products I could find at my drugstores were relaxers, texturizers, shampoos and conditioners ... all in the ethnic section. Now that people have realized how much black women spend on their hair, mainstream brands like Pantene have jumped on the already driving bandwagon. SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque : I love deep conditioning with this mask overnight. It makes my hair super soft and hydrated. It is for dry, damaged hair and while I don’t think my hair is damaged it works. It has shea butter, argan oil and sea kelp. (I also love to use this mask with my bonnet hair dryer.) Apply to wet hair. Camille Rose - Honey Hydrate Leave-In Hair Conditioner : I just discovered this leave-in treatment and I like it. It has a honey mixed with water consistency, but without the stickiness. I like to use with in conjunction with my MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Twisting Souffléwhen styling my hair. This is a pretty popular product and the CVS worker who rang me up said he was surprised there was any left. It contains “droplets of pure honey, olive fruit and castor oils are blended into a sweet, hydrating hair conditioning base. Fresh bilberry and citrusy orange extract are layered with pure sugar maple in this confectionary hair treat crafted to provide maximum hair hydration benefits.” Apply to damp hair with hands. HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY - Tea Tree Oil Skin and Scalp Treatment is a staple. I love tea tree oil as a scalp treatment. My scalp can get dry so I make sure to nourish it with aloe vera water and different oils. You can get a lot of product without an expensive price tag. Hollywood Beauty is a pretty well-known or at least recognized brand so be sure to check out their other formulations. PANTENE - Pro-V Nutrient Boost Heat Primer Thermal Heat Protection Pre-Styling Spray : I was sent this product to try at the WORST possible time. I had just gotten my hair brands and didn’t need a heat protectant. I was like ... what? But now that my natural hair is out. I have used this the two times I used mild heat on my hair. (Review of the REVLON - One-Step Paddle Dryeron my natural hair coming soon.) My hair didn’t feel dry afterward. (I do also use an oil heat protectant after spritzing my hair with the spray.) So those are my drugstore products that won’t break the budget or lead to breakage. Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products or if you think I should try something else. #CheriePartner

Verbs the word, for hair masking anyway...

This hair mask saved my damaged hair...
This hair mask saved my damaged hair...
I have always struggled with damaged hair, being a hair stylists, changing your colour is just to tempting!!  In my career I have changed between dark and blonde – however this comes with consequences.  Hair damage can be caused by numerous things: Heat Styling Colour Pollution Sun Damage Product Overload This can make your hair look dull and feel rough to touch.  In my case the damage occurred due to continuous use of colouring. When colouring the hair, it causes damage to the hair shaft, this is because the colour has to break through a couple of barriers to set in permanently.  This is why as hair stylists we recommend treatments/products that will help with this. Heat styling and sun damage without heat protector is another huge cause of hair damage. Did you know your hair, skin and nails are all made up of the same thing? Would you go into 190-degree heat with no sun cream? Although you can’t feel it on your hair it will still do the same amount of damage.  This product SAVED MY HAIR! I was struggling to style my hair and make it look nice, every colour I was having on my hair would fade in a week or so, and it just felt so rough and brittle. I started using the Kerastase Masque Force Architecte a few years ago, and it has transformed my hair completely.  This treatment is designed for damaged and weakened hair, it repairs damage, prevents split ends, strengthens the hair, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.  How to use: Shampoo your hair twice, for extra results I always recommend the Bain Architecte Shampoo. Towel dry your hair. Apply the mask to the mid-lengths and ends.  Leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. I use this treatment every week and my hair is in the best condition it has ever been in!!

Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask My friend highly recommended this hair mask- Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask and I decided to give it a try. I have med/thick hair that's naturally straight.   Claims: ✅ It's good for all hair types- straight, wavy, curly, coiled and even tightly coiled. ✅  It's an intensive weekly treatment to restore essential hydration and enhance hair’s resilience and strength. ✅ Its key benefits include restoring moisture, creating vibrancy and preventing future damage. ✅ It's free of silicones, DEA, and artificial dyes. It is cruelty-free, color-safe, and safe for use on chemically-treated, relaxed, and keratin-treated hair.   My thoughts: Overall I think the product does what it claims. It smells heavenly and makes me feel so relaxed. I usually leave it on for at least 15 minutes just because I enjoy the smell so much that I don't want it to go away. I haven't tried the other popular method (putting on a plastic shower cap) though. So far I'm happy with the result as I noticed and continue to notice how soft and smooth and healthy my hair is because of using this product. The moment I rinse off the hair mask, I can immediately see the difference. People kept asking me what I use on my hair, and it’s this mask that makes the difference. However there's downside too. The jar only has 10-15 uses. I have thick hair and I also use it quite often, 2-3 times a week, so it doesn’t last as long. The product is also a bit pricey.

VERB’s purple hair mask!!!!! 💜✨
VERB - Purple Toning + Hydrating Hair Mask Hello!!! I am naturally blonde and every once in a while I get highlights. Since we have been in quarantine and I haven’t gotten my hair touched up since September, my blonde is slightly faded and grown out. I have used purple shampoos in the past with my blonde hair and loved it but when I saw VERB had a purple hair mask I bought it right away! This mask brightened up my hair and got rid of the brassy color. I left it on for seven minutes after shampooing and my hair was soooooo soft and smooth after I didn’t even have to untangle any knots with a brush (that is super rare for me). The scent it super fresh and clean smelling, and it is VEGAN, cruelty free and the packaging is recyclable!!!! 🌿🥰🐰🌍 If you are blonde, you should def try this out!! Byeee 👋🏼 💜

#amikagiftedme soul food nourishing mask . If your hair is especially dry, this one’s for you! . For some unknown reason, my hair has been getting really dry lately. I haven’t changed much in my haircare routine, so I’m thinking maybe it’s the weather? Either way, it is what it is, and now I have to deal with it somehow. . This mask already had me at the word ‘nourishing’, but the fact that it has jojoba oil really sealed the deal for me. Both my skin and hair love jojoba oil, so I knew this would be good. And you know what, it is good! Just after the first use, my hair felt much softer and hydrated, and stayed that way for a while. I didn’t have to dunk it in oil to keep it from feeling like hay. . It’s quite thick, almost as thick as your average body cream, but it spread through hair with no problems. I let it sit on my hair from around 6-7 minutes, wash it off and don’t follow with conditioner. The mask gives enough hydration. . Let me know what you use to keep your hair hydrated and nourished. I need all the recommendations I can get 😂 . . . . gifted #cheriecreatoramika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask

After using it u can smell the product in ur hair the next day and have no fear it smells good!! As a leave in conditioner, my only thing is that it left my hair a tad greasy, BUT it gave my hair a nice beach wave so it was an ideal time to do a cute up do or braid. Over all GARNIER - Fructis 1 Minute Nourishing Hair Mask Papaya Extract is a super good buy and it’s only $7 for a 13 oz container (there are smaller one but idk the price). Happy spa day!!! 🌸🌺🌸
