OLAPLEX Honest Review-Maybe Not for Me?
Hey guys! So since I decided to bleach my hair I knew that I would need to bring in some heavy duty, intensive treatments for once a month tune-ups. First on my list was OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector . Sooooo idk about this treatment. Either I used it incorrectly or it’s one of those hair products where you might not see and feel a crazy difference but you can tell over time that your hair is stronger, softer, more manageable, etc. I didn’t get that from this. I don’t want to say it wasn’t effective but I can’t honestly say it was. I’m giving it the three stars because I know it is a quality product and have read enough reviews to know. I think I want to try Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Masknext! Who’s tried it?
HOW TO TURN YOUR HAIR FROM THIS🤮 TO THIS😍🔥
My hair care journey has not been easy but over time, I turned my EXTREMELY heat-damaged hair into lively, bouncy curls! Pictured is my current hair care routine, after 3 years of trying various hair products from ALL different brands I think I found my favorite lineup😍 TPH BY TARAJI - Honey Fresh Clarifying Shampoo With Moisture This clarifying shampoo is one of favorites that I’ve tried so far! I suffer from fast product build-up on my scalp, so I usually need to use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week. Something about a shampoo that bubbles makes my scalp feel extra clean 🧼 so I love using this on days where I feel like my No-Poo won’t get the job done. SLS/SLES free, phthalate free, paraben free, mineral oil free, and cruelty free! DevaCurl - No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser I wanted to love this product because I heard so much hype about it but it just doesn’t do much for when I feel like I need a wash day😅 Great texture though and my hair never feels stripped after using it! DevaCurl - One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL. Favorite conditioner I’ve ever used and definitely has a large role in my hair journey. My curls love this conditioner! (NOTE: the decadence version of this conditioner is great for super dry hair as well) Alikay Naturals - Lemongrass Leave-in Conditioner This is another one of my ride or die products and I was so surprised to see that it hadn’t been recommended on cherie yet! This detangles my hair so easily and it’s the first thing I spray on my hair when I get out of the shower. Its main ingredient is lemongrass oil that aims to help strengthen hair follicles, promote healthy hair growth, and reduce hair shedding. Highly recommend this product for ALL hair types! Kinky-Curly - Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler This product is okay. When I first bought it, I though it would serve more as a gel to seal my leave in conditioners in but it just doesn’t work as well as DevaCurl - Light Defining Gel Soft Hold No-Crunch Styler . This gel creates the perfect shine and seal for all my moisturizing products that I apply before hand. AND I love that it doesn’t leave a crunchy feeling most gels do. MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Leave-In Conditioner Another hair care staple. The smell is fantastic and it slips through my hair like BUTTAH😩 Once my hair dries, I’m left with pillow-soft curls! (NOTE: I apply this after my Alikay Naturals Leave-in spray and top it with my gel) Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask Last but not least, liquid gold in a tub. Man if I could bathe in this mask I would. I use this mask once-twice a week to add some extra richness in my routine!

Feed your hair and scalp
Gone are the days of Luster’s Pink Lotion. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I have natural, 4C hair and there was a time when I could only get hair products from the beauty supply store. That has thankfully changed — even if most department stores like to categorize the products I need as “ethnic hair products.” (But that’s is a discussion for another day.) I also have a dry scalp if I don’t oil it. Most of the products I purchased from Sephora, T.J. Maxx, Sephora, BirchBox and my local department stores. And since I have 4C hair, my hair tends to be on the dry side. This is because the oil from my scalp has more of a hurdle to get over because of the coils unlike the easily shot straight hair provides. I find it best to treat the scalp and hair like two different entities. I use the scalp massager (not the Sephora brand one. I am pretty sure I got it from Amazon) to work in my PAUL MITCHELL - Tea Tree Special Shampoo and PAUL MITCHELL - Tea Tree Special Conditioner while in the shower. The tingling is amazing, but DON’T GET IT IN YOUR EYES. From there, the hair masks obviously focus on the the moisture and repairing of my hair while the oils I use to help my scalp, then seal in the moisture the masks infused in my hair. I try to switch up my masks often and mix them when I am feeling adventurous. Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask : I received the tube one in a BirchBox. It is packed with nutrients and is supposed to help damaged hair. Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo : My Sephora birthday selection. It is for all hair types and is supposed to breakdown buildup. amika: - Triple Rx Mask : A $14.99 TJM purchase that I just couldn’t turn down. It is supposed to repair, restore and revitalize dry or damaged hair. OUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner: Also a BirchBox product. I haven’t used it yet. now - Solutions, Certified Organic, Jojoba Oil is rich with fatty acids and helps promote softer hair and skin. now - Solutions, Sweet Almond Oil is high in vitamin E and locks moisture into hair strands. Reduces dandruff and promotes a healthy scalp #365 - Avocado oil[products]#[FourStars] stimulates blood flow and unclog blocked follicles. Sunny Isle - The Original Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil and all of the other SI JBCO are GOATs. I love this brand and JBCOs. (Not pictured) What are your hairly grail products? #CheriePartner

Cherie Made Me Buy It 🤷🏻♀️😬
Have y’all seen this infamous honey bear on the app or Instagram? Well if you haven’t I am glad to be the first one to share with you why I was convinced to buy this product! To be honest, so many friends of mine on different platforms shared their insight on this product that I can’t even say which one person truly convinced me to buy it. First of all it is the Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask ($36.00 - 8 fl oz). I actually picked up last year when it first got released for a limited time! However, you can now pick up the bear plus two additional hair care samples at Sephora or Briogeo online. For reference, I have long brunette wavy hair that has never been dyed or bleached. At the moment, I just have slight issues with frizzy ness and dry ends. When the bear came out; it was everywhere in sight! Everyone was raving about the smell, how fantastic it felt on the hair, and how nice hair felt post wash! The hair mask is “infused with organic honey to restore essential hydration and strength to dry, damaged hair,” according to the Briogeo website. When you do apply it will be done from mid length to ends for 10 minutes post washed hair. You can be like me and use it once a week or you can do it up to two times a week. FYI this can replaced your conditioner! The smell of this product is unbelievable and smells amazing so you can only imagine how lovely your hair will smell once it dries. The texture is a nice thick consistency, check out the second picture for reference! It’s easy to apply throughout the hair and washing out later on. When I first bought it I would use it regularly each week but then my self care routine diminished as I got caught up with work. Then once I started it back up during March when we got to start working from home, I picked up my hair masks! Briogeo has no harsh Sulfates, no silicones, no phthalates, no parabens, no DEA, And no artificial dyes! Such a great brand to support in my humble opinion! Let me know if I have ever convinced you to buy a product I reviewed on here! #CheriePartner
Treat Yourself & Your Hair
#CheriePartner I didn’t do many hair masks before quarantine, but nowadays I cling to all tangible actions of self-care to hold onto a sense of normalcy. My hair appreciates it, too! For this hair treatment combo, grab a scalp scrub, a nourishing hair mask, and a non-porous shower cap. I love the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub for combining both physical and chemical exfoliation- it always leaves my hair beautifully hydrated and silky, plus it smells deliciously, sharply sweet. The Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask is an absolute holy grail, deeply moisturizing and subtly sweet in scent, a sadness considering it’s still not sold after its limited edition run. My shower cap is a cheap one from Ulta covered in cute pandas. Step 1: Take a generous glob of your hair mask into your palm, rub your hands together to warm it, and distribute it throughout your hair, beginning at the tips and working it up to the middle section of your soon-to-be luscious tresses. Step 2: While your moisturizing mask is working its magic, apply your scalp scrub directly to your dry roots. Take the time to gently massage it into your scalp. Step 3: Slide on your plastic shower cap and enjoy some silence as you let your products marinate. Or, as close to silence as you can get, if you have roommates or children. Step 4: It’s either been ten minutes or two hours and either way, it’s time to rinse! Hop in the water and rinse your hair with warm water, enjoying the contrasting fruity and honey scents if you used my cocktail. Step 5: Style hair as usual, which for me is a bun so my hair is out of my face while my son and I play video games. Enjoy your super soft, bouncy hair!

Review: amika instant shine hair gloss mask
I got a sample of this hair mask in my last sephora order. It has amino acids, hydrolysis flax seed, and red wine extract (interesting) and it claims soften and hydrate hair, as well as add glossy shine, all within 60 seconds. I had never used a product like this before, but I ended up liking it! I got a good 4 uses out of this tube, so the full size (which is 6.7oz) seems like a very fair size for the price of $25. I haven’t tried many amika products so I’m unsure if the scent of this is a signature scent, but I really like it. The scent is definitely very noticeable, but I find it fresh and enjoyable. The texture of this, as you can see from the second picture, is a clear, slippery gel. After shampooing, the instructions say to squeeze extra water from your hair and then apply this from roots to ends. Leave it for at least 60 seconds (I typically do something like shave my legs in this time), then rinse it off to reveal softer, shinier hair! I seriously couldn’t stop smelling my hair the next day because I like the scent so much. This isn’t something I’d consider an essential in my haircare routine, though it’s a nice occasional treatment. I’ll also add that I noticed the added shine a lot more when I blowdried my hair versus when I let my hair air dry—that may be something to keep in mind if you want to see the full benefits of this product. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable treatment to add shine and softness to their hair. #CheriePartner
Happy October! I’m a few days late, but I wanted to share some thoughts and mini reviews on the products that I finished during the month of September. Saya - Coconut Body Polish This is a HUGE tub, and the scrub itself is very luxurious. The coconut smell is delicious and the shea butter leaves my skin moisturized. The sticker price of $48 is a little too much for me though. unpa.Cosmetics - Bye Bye Cica Toner This is a huge bottle for only $13, but I didn’t notice any real effect on my skin. It feels nice and soothing, but in the same way plain water would feel nice and soothing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Maybe this would be better for someone with stubborn redness. The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser Love this and plan to repurchase! Takes off all my makeup and rinses clean. PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer Amazing for very dry skin. I used it when I switched to .05 tret and had flaky, peeling skin, and it felt amazing and saved me from my snake skin. Highly recommend. amika: - Flash Instant Shine Mask Didn’t notice any super dramatic effects, though it’s easy to use and smells amazing. Maybe I would’ve seen more shine if I blow dried my hair. CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution I’ve used samples of this before, and I really like it for its brightening effects, but not enough to pay $70/oz. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Cream Nope. Used this on my hands because I was afraid it would break me out. I would also never pay the sticker price for this. HERBIVORE - Orchid Facial Oil I love this oil, but I have less expensive oils that moisturize just as well. I didn’t notice any effects besides moisturizing. A little pricey for me. HERO COSMETICS - Rescue Balm A very cool idea for a product, but now that my cystic acne is under control, I thankfully don’t need it! Loved it though, it helped a lot. LilyAna Naturals - Vitamin C Serum Love love love and will forever repurchase. So moisturizing and brightening, and no vitamin c smell! PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Smoothing Primer Serum SPF30 I really liked this! Did what it claimed to do and kept my makeup looking good. I like the added SPF as well. Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara I love how this makes my lashes look, but it does tend to flake throughout the day :( #CheriePartner

✨ My Go-To Hairstyle ✨
II have had A LOT of hairstyles in my time. My hair journey has ultimately been one of experimentation. I have never been one who was afraid to try different things and switch up my aesthetic to suit my mood. I first started experimenting with dyeing my hair. Then I experimented with a sew-in afro a la Corbin Bleu. I tried relaxing my hair and styling it into a 50’s style pompadour, and I even rocked a 7” tall high-top fade, so needless to say, I have had my fair share of looks. Ultimately what I learned through years and years of experimentation, is to learn how to truly see myself under the enhancements. Now, my go-to hairstyle is short, cropped, natural, and curly. My go-to products for healthy, luscious locks? My must-have is SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque with sea kelp and Argan oil. I love it because the texture of it is nicely whipped with enough weight to ensure proper moisture, but doesn’t leave your hair feeling heavy. This is what I use on my day to day hair care routine. It’s intended use is for a rinse-out hair masque, but my hair is really thirsty, so I use it as a leave-in conditioner I just need water and some deep moisture to activate my curls. Once I’ve done that I comb through my hair with a pick, pat dry any access product off, and use a texture sponge in circular motions to define my tight curls even further. When I need a good cleansing, my new favorite product is SUNDAY RILEY - Clean Rinse Clarifying Scalp Serum with Niacinamide . It is super effective at cleansing any access oil and build-up from your scalp and leaves you with a super fresh and tingly feeling.
MORE BANG FOR LESS BUCKS
I have natural 4C hair and for a long time I felt like the only hair care products I could find at my drugstores were relaxers, texturizers, shampoos and conditioners ... all in the ethnic section. Now that people have realized how much black women spend on their hair, mainstream brands like Pantene have jumped on the already driving bandwagon. SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque : I love deep conditioning with this mask overnight. It makes my hair super soft and hydrated. It is for dry, damaged hair and while I don’t think my hair is damaged it works. It has shea butter, argan oil and sea kelp. (I also love to use this mask with my bonnet hair dryer.) Apply to wet hair. Camille Rose - Honey Hydrate Leave-In Hair Conditioner : I just discovered this leave-in treatment and I like it. It has a honey mixed with water consistency, but without the stickiness. I like to use with in conjunction with my MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Twisting Souffléwhen styling my hair. This is a pretty popular product and the CVS worker who rang me up said he was surprised there was any left. It contains “droplets of pure honey, olive fruit and castor oils are blended into a sweet, hydrating hair conditioning base. Fresh bilberry and citrusy orange extract are layered with pure sugar maple in this confectionary hair treat crafted to provide maximum hair hydration benefits.” Apply to damp hair with hands. HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY - Tea Tree Oil Skin and Scalp Treatment is a staple. I love tea tree oil as a scalp treatment. My scalp can get dry so I make sure to nourish it with aloe vera water and different oils. You can get a lot of product without an expensive price tag. Hollywood Beauty is a pretty well-known or at least recognized brand so be sure to check out their other formulations. PANTENE - Pro-V Nutrient Boost Heat Primer Thermal Heat Protection Pre-Styling Spray : I was sent this product to try at the WORST possible time. I had just gotten my hair brands and didn’t need a heat protectant. I was like ... what? But now that my natural hair is out. I have used this the two times I used mild heat on my hair. (Review of the REVLON - One-Step Paddle Dryeron my natural hair coming soon.) My hair didn’t feel dry afterward. (I do also use an oil heat protectant after spritzing my hair with the spray.) So those are my drugstore products that won’t break the budget or lead to breakage. Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products or if you think I should try something else. #CheriePartner
This past weekend I was away and, in terms of hair care products, had only brought with me travel size shampoo and conditioner bottles - I failed to pack a travel size leave-in conditioner or even a hairbrush So, my hair has been dry, brittle, and very sad for the last several days, and in need of a serious pick-me-up. Enter the Verb Hydrating Mask, which I wore in my hair overnight after washing my hair last night! Let’s talk: — This Hydrating Mask is meant to manage and restore all hair types. It’s a conditioning treatment that can be used weekly to restore color-treated or over-styled hair, and add lost shine and softness back into the hair. Babaso oil helps to hydrate and nourish the hair while glycerin binds moisture to hair for added softness. The recommended use for this guy is to leave it in your hair post-shampoo for 5-7 minutes, then rinse out. I have particularly dry and damaged hair due to having dyed it so many times over in the past few years, so I chose to leave this on overnight. 💆🏻♀️ Results? After washing it out this morning, I found that I did not need any leave-in conditioner after my shower. I just brushed it out and went about my day, and upon it drying I found that my hair had retained all of the moisture, body and shine that the mask was meant to provide it with! Definitely had a good experience here and absolutely recommend this mask.

A lightweight hair mask for dry hair
VERB - Ghost Hair Mask What it is: a lightweight deep conditioning treatment What it costs: $18 What I think: this is such a nourishing mask that doesn’t weigh my hair down. I leave it in for about five minutes while I do my other shower tasks, and my hair is softer and more manageable once I rinse it out. I love that it provides the moisture to my curls without being heavy, and this was a treat for my dry hair
👻 I’ve already touted my love for the Verb Ghost hair collection and swear by their shampoo (which provides the perfect amount of hydration w/o weighing down my hair) so I was thrilled to try the new Ghost Hair Mask once it launched last year. I have TONS of wavy hair but it’s very fine and my scalp can get oily quickly so a deep conditioner can be tricky for me. The Verb Ghost Hair Mask™ is a light-as-air deep conditioning treatment that nourishes, defrizzes and promotes shine without leaving behind any residue or added weight. It’s designed to be light enough for fine hair, yet nourishing enough for any hair type in need of weightless hydration. Since I do not condition my hair every time I wash it I am finding that this is THE perfect solution for me. It leaves my hair feeling super soft, smooth, and voluminous but still feels super clean and not weighed down at all. The best part is that everything they make is clean, color-safe, and only $16 (perfect for those of us that want fabulous hair without breaking the bank). Yet another Verb Ghost product for the win!! Products + Styles for Long, Fine, Blonde Hair✨
As the title says, my hair is currently long, fine, and blonde (part natural, part bleach😜). Maintaining healthy hair while dealing with these elements can be tricky sometimes so I’m here to show you some of my favourite products for keeping my hair toned, long, and healthy. With my hair type, I mainly focus on hydration, repairing/prevention, toning, and texture (with my hair being fine + straight I like to give it a boost of texture). First up, let’s talk shampoo. I wash my hair about 2-3 times per week and I rotate between a purple shampoo, clarifying/detox shampoo, and a regular shampoo. What I’ve been using lately are - • KRISTIN ESS - The One Purple Shampoo this one works soooo well to tone all of the brassiness out of my hair AND it’s affordable. The one con IMO is it’s very heavily fragranced. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - Cocomino Glossing Shampoo this is what I’ve been using as a detox shampoo and it works pretty well - not the best and not the worst. It has a nice light scent and does leave my hair feeling very clean. Downside to this one is the price tag, it’s pretty expensive for such a small bottle. IGK - Low Key Cleansing Walnut Scalp Scrub I recently started incorporating a scalp scrub into my routine; this one works decently well but I have a hard time getting the product to my scalp. BUT if/when I do, I love the cooling peppermint feeling it leaves behind on my scalp. Next up, I try to use a mask or deep conditioner once a week. I’ve been using the eva·nyc - Therapy Session Hair Mask and it’s quite nice. It leaves my hair feeling soft and hydrated but again, it’s quite heavily fragranced which I don’t love. Now this next product is my holy-grail...seriously I am obsessed with it and sing its praises. The KEVIN.MURPHY - Kevin.Murphy Young.Again rescued my dead, bleached ends and brought my hair back to life and helped it to grow long and healthy for the first time in over 10 years. I don’t know what else to say...it’s magic and you need it. Lastly, some styling products I’ve been loving are - • davines - This is a Sea Salt Spray this isn’t a super drying salt spray like some I’ve tried in the past; it gives my hair some grip and texture without the crunchiness. It also has a light vanilla musk scent that I love! • KEVIN.MURPHY - Shimmer Me Blonde this spray contains violet reflects to help tone out brassiness in blonde hair and it’s sooo pretty. It’s like a light oil in texture and feels more like a treatment than a styling product - another Kevin Murphy product I’m in love with!! As for styles, some of my most worn are - • air dried • flat iron waves • half up pony • half up top knot • all up top knot • centre part • deep side part • scrunchies always What are your favourite hair products for your hair type?!
quench thirsty hair 💕
💕The eva·nyc - Therapy Session Hair Maskis a deep conditioning hair mask which promises to moisturize, repair and strengthen dry, damaged hair 💕ingredients in this mask Include keravis protein, buckthorn and Argan oil 💕i began running low on my Briogeo don’t despair, repair deep conditioner but my budget wasn’t allowing me to spend $36 to replace it 💕I saw the Eva nyc hair mask while browsing target ($14.49) and decided to give it a try especially since it has many positive reviews 💕so far I have only used it one time, as I still have some Briogeo left. Based on my first use, it did leave my hair feeling soft and allowed for easy detangling while in the shower. I may have to switch up what shampoo I pair it with though. 💕I will update in the future once I’ve used it a couple more times.
Hibiscus = lighter Bordeaux
MOROCCANOIL - Color Depositing Mask I have tried this Hibiscus shade and the single use packets of the Bordeaux shade. I used to have some of my ends dyed a medium blonde so I figured this would work on the ends. That’s mainly where it shows since the rest of my hair is medium to dark brown. I think this is just a lighter version of the Bordeaux which is a deep red. I’ll probably purchase again in the other shade since it lasts longer. I like this because I keep the color for about 2 weeks depending on how often I wash my hair. It does stain my hands for 2 days and my robe so I would recommend washing your face and hands immediately and using a towel or robe since it seems to wash out in the machine well from those. I wish they would make more colors for darker hair but I like how this comes out. Definitely would recommend as it doesn’t damage your hair at all but get the Bordeaux shade if you want it to be more vibrant and last longer.
How to restore hair + how to refresh color!
Highlights look beautiful but let's be honest they can really damage your hair, especially if you have curly hair. Since I did my highlights back in December last year, I have struggled with my high porosity hair. I have 3A curls with high porosity. My hair is always frizzy and dry. After months of trying different home remedies and hair products, I found out about the OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector This treatment helps repair the follicle of your hair by restoring the broken bonds in it. I have used the products 3 times already and after each used I do notice a big improvement in my hair and my curls to tighter and stronger. Besides the damage, the other issue I had was keeping my hair color fresh without putting more chemicals on it. For this problem I started using the MOROCCANOIL - Color Depositing Mask This product not only deposits color into your hair but also it's a deep conditioner, so you are getting hydration and color refresh at the same time. How cool is that??

My 4b/c routine + info on my hair journey
After a year and some change of being natural it’s taken a while to get my confidence up regarding it. There’s a lot of things they don’t tell you about first going natural. They don’t tell you that society’s acceptance and definition of curly hair is people who’s hair is 3a,b and c and the acceptance ends once it gets to coily hair. They also don’t tell you how HIGH MAINTENANCE caring for coily hair is 😭it’s honestly like caring for an entire person. The list about info that’s not discussed before deciding to go natural is probably 10 feet long, but with patience, love and lots of research, caring for natural hair can be really beneficial and can boost your confidence. My regular washday routine I have 4 key steps in my hair routine: preshampoo, shampoo, deep condition and style When I preshampoo I like to use DOO GRO - Mega Thick Hair Oil AFRiCAN PRIDE - Hair Growth Oil and other type oils. Sometimes I may heat them up for better penetration of my strands but I usually like to apply these to my scalp and strands and massage it in really good. After my preshampoo I shampoo. This is when I use my shea moisture low porosity shampoo or a really neat hair mask that many of you have heard about which is the AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay the shampoo is honestly a holy grail find for me because it tailors to cleaning my hair without adding unnecessary protein because low porosity hair can be really protein sensitive. The hair mask is also AMAZING when it comes to defining your curl pattern like ;-; it’s so great. When I shampoo I usually shampoo once rinse and then go back in shampoo again and rinse. Deep conditioning is essential for me. I love using different deep conditioners and hair masks to see how they impact my hair. So far my two favorites have been the Maui MOISTURE - Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Hair Mask and the aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner these are my favorites because they have a really great price point (the Aussie one is like 3 bucks HELLOOOO), they smell delicious and they have made my hair really hydrated and soft when I have used them. I usually keep my hair mask in overnight and wash it out the next day. Finally my styling has become very different since quarantine has begun. Since we’ve been in quarantine and I no longer physically go to school I’ve had my hair braided down since my state first locked down in like March. There have been maybe three weeks total in the last 5 months where my hair has been out because it’s really simple and easy to take care of my hair. My mom usually braids my hair down and I keep my braids for two weeks (sometimes three/four) and after that I wash my hair and get her to braid it down again. I don’t use braiding hair in my braids because I feel like it’s not necessary and I don’t mind having little chin length braids 😭
UNDER $10! Choose the right natural hair products from durgstore!
I have thick natural hair and as a young girl just out of university, I am always on a budget😰😰. After years of trying out different high end products and getting the same “OK” results, I started looking elsewhere. Below is a list of hair products I use faithfully that are all under $10. aussie - Miracle Moist 3 Minute Miracle with Avocado for Dry Hair RepairThis is a great deep conditioner for days when you can’t do the whole thirty minute deep conditioning routine. You can find Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle for as low as $3. aussie - Miracle Moist ConditionerThis is my favorite hair conditioner. I use this twice a week to condition and detangle my hair. aussie - Miracle Moist Shampoo . If you haven’t figured it out by now, I love the whole Aussie Moist line lol. ogx - Coconut Miracle Oil ShampooThis coconut milk shampoo by OGX is a steal. It smells like a tropical vacation in a bottle. It lathers nicely with only a small amount of product and leaves hair feeling soft and strong. The coconut oils moisturize and nourish your natural hair and the coconut milk and egg white proteins strengthen your relaxed hair. Eden Body Works Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner This has got to be the best deep conditioner under $10. After using this product on my hair the shine and elasticity was out of this world. If you are struggling with dryness and need a moisture boost I strongly suggest adding this deep conditioner to your regimen. Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Cowash Eden BodyWorks is one of my favorite brands and the Coconut Shea Cleansing Cowash is my favorite cowash. It’s one of the only cleansing conditioners that makes my hair and scalp feel squeaky clean. It also has pretty good slip, which makes detangling easy. It comes in a 16 oz jar, and you can typically find it for about $9. Curls Goddess Curls Botanical Gel Looking for a botanical gel to get your curls popping without flakes and crunch? This Goddess Curls Botanical Gel is your answer. This product will cure your wash and go woes, define your curls, and leave you with soft bouncy ringlets for less than $10. Sounds like a steal to me. With this hair mask, you can easily get shiny hair...
If you want to have healthy and shiny hair, you must first know whether your have oily scalp or not, so as to choose the right shampoos and other hair care products. The simplest method is to observe the greasiness of the hair within two days after using shampoos. Oily scalp Your hair can be kept fresh and smooth on the first day after washing, but after the next day, it will be greasy. You will also have scalp itching and dandruff problems. Dry hair Within two days after washing, due to lack of water and nutrition, your hair will be dry and dull. You will also find it is difficult to comb your hair. For me I don't have oily/dry scalp: no greasy, soft and dry within two days after washing. I don't curl my hair and perm often. I dye my hair occasionally. Therefore, moisturizing is the most important thing for me. The right haircare steps 1. Comb your hair smoothly before shampooing, especially for long hair. Don't miss this step, otherwise the knotted place will be still there. 2. Wash your hair with warm water for about 1 minute first. This step is not only to wet the hair, but also to fully moisten the scalp. 3. Apply shampoo on the palm of your hand, foam it, and then apply it to the scalp. Remeber don't apply shampoo on your scalp at the beginning, otherwise you'll get dandraff easily. 4. If you don't make for a long time, this is because your hair is not wet enough. Thus, don't add shampoo, insteat, water should be added. Excessive shampoo will also damage hair! 5. Gently massage the scalp with your fingers. 6. After washing, apply the conditioner layer by layer and gently massage your hair for 3 minutes, and then wash it off. If you want to use hair masks, then don't use hair conditioner. Finally gently dry your hair with a towel. Haircare products recommendation Today, I would like to recommend this product .MOROCCANOIL - Intense Hydrating Mask I use it about once a week. 1. After drying your hair with a towel (the towel absorbs the water and no longer drips), apply appropriate amount of it on your hair tips. 2. Slowly and gently omb the hair with your fingers. 3. Wait for about 10 minutes and wrap your hair in a towel. If your hair is seriously damaged, cover the towel with plastic wrap, which will make the hair mask abosorbed well. 4. Finally wash off the hair mask, and you will feel your hair is super soft and shiny. Feel free to comment down your questions!

This hair mask saves my thick hair!😱
Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask My friend highly recommended this hair mask- Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask and I decided to give it a try. I have med/thick hair that's naturally straight. Claims: ✅ It's good for all hair types- straight, wavy, curly, coiled and even tightly coiled. ✅ It's an intensive weekly treatment to restore essential hydration and enhance hair’s resilience and strength. ✅ Its key benefits include restoring moisture, creating vibrancy and preventing future damage. ✅ It's free of silicones, DEA, and artificial dyes. It is cruelty-free, color-safe, and safe for use on chemically-treated, relaxed, and keratin-treated hair. My thoughts: Overall I think the product does what it claims. It smells heavenly and makes me feel so relaxed. I usually leave it on for at least 15 minutes just because I enjoy the smell so much that I don't want it to go away. I haven't tried the other popular method (putting on a plastic shower cap) though. So far I'm happy with the result as I noticed and continue to notice how soft and smooth and healthy my hair is because of using this product. The moment I rinse off the hair mask, I can immediately see the difference. People kept asking me what I use on my hair, and it’s this mask that makes the difference. However there's downside too. The jar only has 10-15 uses. I have thick hair and I also use it quite often, 2-3 times a week, so it doesn’t last as long. The product is also a bit pricey.

VERB’s purple hair mask!!!!! 💜✨
VERB - Purple Toning + Hydrating Hair Mask Hello!!! I am naturally blonde and every once in a while I get highlights. Since we have been in quarantine and I haven’t gotten my hair touched up since September, my blonde is slightly faded and grown out. I have used purple shampoos in the past with my blonde hair and loved it but when I saw VERB had a purple hair mask I bought it right away! This mask brightened up my hair and got rid of the brassy color. I left it on for seven minutes after shampooing and my hair was soooooo soft and smooth after I didn’t even have to untangle any knots with a brush (that is super rare for me). The scent it super fresh and clean smelling, and it is VEGAN, cruelty free and the packaging is recyclable!!!! 🌿🥰🐰🌍 If you are blonde, you should def try this out!! Byeee 👋🏼 💜

Hair Mask that bring life back into my hair
#amikagiftedme soul food nourishing mask . If your hair is especially dry, this one’s for you! . For some unknown reason, my hair has been getting really dry lately. I haven’t changed much in my haircare routine, so I’m thinking maybe it’s the weather? Either way, it is what it is, and now I have to deal with it somehow. . This mask already had me at the word ‘nourishing’, but the fact that it has jojoba oil really sealed the deal for me. Both my skin and hair love jojoba oil, so I knew this would be good. And you know what, it is good! Just after the first use, my hair felt much softer and hydrated, and stayed that way for a while. I didn’t have to dunk it in oil to keep it from feeling like hay. . It’s quite thick, almost as thick as your average body cream, but it spread through hair with no problems. I let it sit on my hair from around 6-7 minutes, wash it off and don’t follow with conditioner. The mask gives enough hydration. . Let me know what you use to keep your hair hydrated and nourished. I need all the recommendations I can get 😂 . . . . gifted #cheriecreatoramika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask

Great Affordable Hair Mask
This mask does wonder for my hair!!! There’s so many great qualities in this mask and it’s very affordable in my opinion! Here’s a list of the great qualities: ✨💚-scent is really nice ✨💚-good price ✨💚-very moisturizing ✨💚- almost like paste consistency, especially when you’re showering and sometimes the mask just falls out of you hand and onto the floor, it’s pretty firm ✨💚-packaging is cute :) My routine is usually shampooing first, then putting the mask for 5-7 minutes and the conditioner, love how my hair smells afterwards! I definitely would recommend to anyone who wants a nice scent and moisture to their hair :)
