When did OPI become so lame????
When I was growing up and would go near a place that gave many and peddles, they used OPI products. I tended to avoid it because it is more expensive. But I really wanted some olive green nail polish because I wear that color a lot and decided to buy this. First, this color is not blue; it appears in the photo. Its a dark, iridescent teal green. Still pretty, but not at all the light blue as depicted. But its a pretty color. The purple one is nice, too. However!! 2 coats flaked off after less than a day!! I don't know if it's because it was baking in a warehouse for too long or the actual polish isn't made well. I have never been so disappointed in nail polish before. After three coats of barely-there coverage, it finally started to look like my nails were painted. I put on a topcoat, as I always do, and one day later, the polish had already started chipping. I applied a few more coats, and again, one day later, chipping and wear on the tips. And the polish was not of quality whatsoever. I thought OPI was a high-quality nail polish. This was not. I purchased the third color with the same problem—the polish streaks. There was no smooth application period. What I did get on my nails looked terrible. It was blotchy & I removed it. I was disappointed in light of what I paid. I don't recommend OPI & will not purchase their brand again. I think I'll stick with my much cheaper and more reliable Sally Hansen Miracle Gel or Insta Dry from now on. Just goes to show you that price does not always mean better quality. I will not buy any product from OPI anymore.

Your nail polish Zodiac ✨
So I decided to have a little fun today and assign zodiac signs to my nail polish collection! It became a little hard when I realized all I owned was every shade of green, a few blues, and a few purples 😂 but we made it work! I’m really huge into the zodiac. I’m an Aries sun, Virgo moon, and Cancer rising. If you know your signs let me know below! Aries - Red and Gold. For this I chose the KL Polish Prince Cornelius as it’s a burnt red base (aka fire sign) with gold and silver suspended glitter. Taurus - Green earth tones. For this I chose Sinful Colors Electric Sage. To me Taurus’ seem chill until you get them to a certain point and they can be just as fiery as Aries. That’s why I choose a sage green with gold suspended glitter. Gemini - Top Coat/Transformer Polish. For this I chose Pacifica Crystal Gloss Top Coat in Milky Way. Just like Gemini’s have two sides this nail polish has two uses. You can use it as a beautiful holographic base coat or double up on layers for a beautiful purple opaque nail polish. Cancer - Grey. For this I chose KL Polish Graham. Most cancers I know in real life (including my ascending sign) are really moody so I chose Grey. Leo - Orange. For this I chose OPI Suzi Needs a Loch-Smith. Leo is a very bold and passionate fire sign. I chose orange for them as this bold color signifies that to me. Virgo - White. For this I chose OPI Alpine Snow. Virgo represents the virgin and white is what I think of. Libra - Gold. For this I chose OPI I Pull the Strings. Libras represent the scales which in my mind have always been gold. Scorpio - Black. For this I chose OPI Black Onyx. I feel like this is super cliche but there is no other sign I feel like black polish represents more than Scorpio (as much as I’d like it to be Aries 😂) Sagittarius - Blue. For this I chose KL Polish Cozy in There. Every Sag in my life is so nurturing, calm, and soothing. This pale denim blue is the most soothing shade I have in my collection. Capricorn - Earth tones. For this I chose OPI Things I’ve Seen in Aber-green. Capricorn is an earth sign so I choose a more brown green shade. Aquarius - Blue/Green shift. For this I chose OPI Nessie Plays Hide & Sea-k. Aquarius is the Water Bearer so naturally a blue green shift with suspended glitter to represent water seemed best. Pisces - Purple. For this I chose KL Polish Mozart. It seemed logical for Pisces to be a blue shade but I felt like it wasn’t quite right for them. Purple is still in the cool family but not stereotypical for a water sign.

💅🏼 PRODUCTS 💅🏼 Sally Hansen - Insta Dri Nail Color | 205: Pink Blink | This goes on opaque and dries in a minute. butter LONDON - Trend Nail Lacquer | Bit Faker | A beautiful 3-free polish. They can also be indecisive - Which I felt when I couldn’t choose between 3 colors for my nails LOL. But the most important trait I wanted to play on with Pisces nails was dreaminess. We’re associated with water (hence the little fishies and mermaid scales), but so is Cancer and Scorpio! I thought of doing more deep and mysterious blues or purples- but that felt more like Mysterious Scorpio ♏️. And designs about the moon or more muted tones would be for Cancer ♋️, imo, since they’re more guarded. So with the blue, I added details that felt dreamy / otherworldly. Like glittering, holographic scales, and a tiny purple rain drop. The two fishes are a direct homage to the Pisces symbol ♓️ And I thought it’d be cute to have them face each other. If I had a sparkling, duochrome blue to add, I think it would take it to the next level. ⭐️ PICKING NAIL ART FOR YOUR ZODIAC SIGN ⭐️ Since each element 🔥 💧 🌬 🌏 has more than one sign, I think it’s fun to take inspo from their individual personality traits. For example, Leo and Sagittarius could both have fire red. 🔥 But the sun represents Leo ♌️ , and they like the spotlight- so more flashy, jeweled nails could fit them. Sagittarius ♐️ like philosophy, complex problems, and exploring new things. So Sag nails could play with new geometry patterns and odd colors. You can also pull color inspiration from each of their planets. So honest Capricorn ♑️ can have Saturn’s 🪐yellow ring tones. Eccentric Aquarius can have Uranus’ muted blue colors. Some of the signs have a lot in common. What do you use to tell them apart ?

Nail colors based on my mood 💅🏽
I love to add bright nail colors to my seasonal ensemble because they typically emit different energy based on the colors I choose 💛 During the summer/hot season, I love to use bright coral/orange hues because they are eye catching and look amazing next to other bright colors. Neons & Oranges are typically my favorite 🍊because the color usually means optimism, creativity and fun! Which is why I tend to go for these colors during the summer time. The essie - essie Enamel Nail Polish has the perfect coral for summer in Souq up the Sun! My next favorite color to choose are blues! 💦💙 These typically emit energy related to trust, security, and loyalty; not surprising seeing that I’m a Capricorn ♑️ 🤪 on my fingers, I love the color “Take The Lead” from essie - essie Enamel Nail Polish because it’s the perfect ocean hue 🌊 and who doesn’t love watching the waves crash while at beach?! ✨ Quick tips for polishing your own nails: 1. Start with a base coat 2. Go slow and don’t over saturate your brush with polish - starting the cuticle and dragging upwards 3. Two coats are usually good enough but certain colors will require a third to build up the opaqueness. 4. Don’t worry about getting on your skin; you can always clean it up with a cotton round or q-tip after. Both polishes can be purchased directly from Essie’s website or from ULTA - prefer the latter because I can collect my member points 🤩 Price is $9 per bottle which is fairly reasonable for nail polish that glide without any issues. The consistency is thin enough to layer on without any issues (streaking, lumpiness) but opaque enough to look like a professionally done manicure or pedicure. Essie has always been my favorite nail polish brand because of their color choices and price point. However, if you’re looking for a cleaner brand, I would suggest the brand Ella + Mila. They carry very similar colors, similar price point, but are a cleaner brand. What are your go-to colors for when you want to emit better energy? ✨ #CheriePartner

Red Power Nails for Aries
I’m an Aries girl. Aries are passionate, confident, and courageous. So it is not surprise that an Aries power color is red! I love to keep this in mind when I am picking out a nail color that I’m going to where somewhere special or just when I want to feel more empowered and confident. If you’ve seen any of my other posts about nails, you’ll know I’m a big fan of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line of nail polishes. They come in so many great colors, wear really well and they actually do dry in 60 seconds. Recently I discovered one of my fav red colors from them. It’s called Cinna- Snap. It’s more of a burgundy red which I prefer especially in these fall and winter months. I like to keep my nails pretty short when wearing red, I just think it looks better! You also definitely want to do two coats of polish so you get the nice bold nail.Sally Hansen - Insta Dri Nail Color

Things I actually repurchased this month!
So I love to do product reviews and empties updates, but this time I wanted to actually show what I repurchased this month. I find that consistency has been really good, for my skin especially, lately and sometimes choosing products that you know will work feels like a more worthy purchase as times. So I’m just going to share each of the products and why I love them! None of these products will be a surprise to you all.. cuz I feel like I talk about them all the time but oh well 😬 Benzagel - Acne Wash Benzagel. Take my money. I love this face wash so so much. I owe my clear (well mostly clear) skin to this product. I can’t go a day without it. It’s gentle, but effective at keeping acne away and it’s so affordable. I restock this product pretty regularly at the drugstore. It might be my #1 most repurchased product. BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water It’s my favourite (and I think the best) micellar water. I go through multiple bottles every year. It’s non-irritating, leaves no residue and helps get off any type of mascara. This is a fan favourite for a reason. Plus if you buy the two packs it’s a pretty good price. indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron Moisture Jelly This has been a go-to moisturizer for me ever since the weather for a little bit colder. It’s lightweight, but pretty moisturizing. It has the cutest pump at the top that you press to get the product out. The only downside to this is you don’t get a ton of product for the price point. Mitchum - Advanced Control Solid Anti-Perspirant Deodorant, Pure Fresh Okay, I know it might seem weird to review a deodorant but... I don’t care. It’s effective and lasts all day long. This is really the only deodorant that I use now! The scent is light and fresh but fairly subtle so you’re not overwhelmed by the smell. It does leave white marks if you’re not careful, just a warning. essie - Expressie Quick-Dry Nail Polish This one is a cheat... because I repurchased this but in a new colour! I have been loving the pink shade I have and use it almost every single week. I just love how easy and quick it is. It seriously takes me like 10-15 mins to paint and dry my nails. So now that it’s fall I had to buy this cute dark red colour too. indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron + Volumising Lip Treatment This has become a big go-to lip balm for me. It’s perfect to throw in your purse or pocket. I find it very moisturizing and has saved my chapped lips. It’s perfect for everyday use and I think it’s definitely worth the price. The only con is I love when products are a little more buttery and this feels a little thicker and even a little sticky. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask This mask is so buttery, moisturizing and it just feels luxurious. This little tub lasts forever, I think it’s definitely worth the price point. I use it every night and I wake up with smooth lips. 💋

THREE TIPS FOR SALON-WORTHY NAILS
So here’s the thing - I get asked ALL THE TIME how much I paid to get my nails done. The kicker? I don’t pay to get them done - I’ve done my own nails for YEARS and I’ve perfected my technique for making them look like I got them done in the salon - even though they’re just regular nail polish. Here are my top three tips for perfect nails (no more mistakes) ➡️Sit at a table to do your nails You have GOT TO STOP trying to paint your nails while sitting on your couch or on the floor (unless you’re giving yourself a pedicure). Painting your nails while sitting at a table ensures that your hands are on a flat, stable surface so you have more control of the nail polish and are less likely to flood your cuticles, or look like a child tried to paint your nails. ➡️Always use top coat and base coat A quality top and base coat will make your nail polish look better and last longer. It’s honestly what matters more than the brand of polish you use - it will make dollar store, drugstore, or department store nail polish ALL look equally amazing and salon-worthy. Seche - Vite Dry Fast Clear Top Coat duri - Rejuvacote 1 Nail Growth System ➡️Don’t overload your brush with polish Trying to get a mani done quicker by painting a too thick layer on of polish is totally counter-intuitive. First, you’re more likely to do a messy paint job because you can’t control the polish and it will just go everywhere. Second, it’s going to take AGES to dry - much longer than thinner two coats of polish! These are my three top tips for salon-worthy nails - and they’ve never let me down! The shade of polish in the photo is Essie Van D’Go, a gorgeous peach shade. essie - Longwear Nail Polish

Color my nails autumn 🍂..... Topcoat anyone?
essie - Longwear Nail Polish I am into dark colors, especially during the fall season. I am looking for topcoat recommendations. I like to do my own nails and I would love if my polish could at least last a week before they started chipping 😩. If anyone has suggestions .... just let me know! 😊

Pumpkin Patch Inspo nails
The polishes I used are ranging between main stream big box and indie companies. OPI is usually very consistent, this orange is from their fall 2019 collection. It screams pumpkin orange to me and applies effortlessly. Cirque Colors has been one of my favourite indie brands, I love how interactive they are on IG. There was a learning curve to working with their polish but one you master it, they’re a dream to work with. I have to admit my bias with Holo Taco, as the brand creator, Cristine (Simplynailogical) is a idol of mine but she knows how to create great products. Orange drink is from her Rainbow Summer collection, while at the time I felt more pumpkin vibes than summer vibes, it reflects fall to me beautifully. It’s also is easy to work with. Linear holo polish can be thicker than the average polish do to the pigments they are trying to pack into it but, again, once you get the hang of it, it’s a solid polish to work with.

Amazing NUDE shades for tanned skin that you must try!❤
We love crazy manis but sometimes, the best neutral polishes goes with everything. Skin-complementing shades are utterly elegant, understated, and helps to elongate your fingers. If you are a warm undertone, warm nude shades are going to complement your undertone well. If you are a cool undertone, pick the cooler nudes. Lucky ladies with neutral undertones get away with all the nude shades. There is no single ONE nude color for all of us so I’m trying out two shades of neutral nude here. The first pick is Orosa Pure Cover Nail Paint in shade Pâtisserie. I love how Orosa nail polishes are cruelty-free and vegan, and free of 14 harmful chemicals typically found in nail products. The application is super easy thanks to the flat, wide, and curved brush that glides across the natural shape of my nail. The pink shade does not really suit my tanned skin but it would be an interesting option for pairing it with another complementary shade or for a French manicure. This shade would be perfect for cool skin tones. US$12 for 0.5oz orosa - Pure Cover Nail Paint The second pick is OPI nail lacquer in Pale to the Chief. At first sight, I wouldn’t think that the shade would be suitable for my skin tone but it looks elegant after application. The award-winning nude polish is heavily pigmented and appears beautifully even with just one single coat. Application is a breeze with the larger ProWide handle and brush as well. It dries quickly, perfect for busy girls on the go. A nail lacquer also typically lasts longer than a nail polish but I would let time tell if that is true. US$10.50 for 0.5oz OPI - OPI Nail Lacquer

Classy Nails for the LIBRAs ♎️
When it comes to astrology, I do read my readings once in a while and take it with a pinch of salt. It is fun to understand my sign personalities and the same for my close friends and partner. A person who is a libra (yes, it is my birthday month) is generally infamously indecisive, and love balance and harmony. Librans are great team players, and can be little bit of a hopeless romantic sometimes. Like how Librans love all things beautiful and artistic, it is no different for nail art. This is a set of nail art inspired by my star sign, Libra. Ruled by Venus, Libra is associated with colors are all about balance, connection and harmony. Libra is linked to the endocrine system, kidneys and is associated with pretty pastel shades including baby blue, pink, pistachio, pale aqua, lavender and peach etc. For this set, I am using a lovely soft pastel pink color, balanced with a darker shade in the same color family. My pick is the clean + vegan Orosa Pure Cover Nail Paint in shade Pâtisserie, and balanced with an alternative pop of new shade Lobby Boy. Orosa nail polishes are cruelty-free and vegan. I like how application is a breeze with the flat, wide, and curved brush that hugs the natural shape of your nail. The polish dries quickly too. I strengthen the nail color and prolong its longevity with a matte top coat. orosa - Pure Cover Nail Paint

❓How to know it is time to throw away your nail polish: 5 ways!
Whenever I am in the mood to refresh or declutter my beauty spaces, I always open up my nail polish drawer and check which ones are getting old and dry. My nail polish collection is a tad out of hand. I like painting my own nails, and many of my friends come to me for an at-home mani, so I tend to hoard a lot of polishes.  I always use regular nail polish when I am doing my own nails as opposed to at-home or DIY gel. I leave that to the pros at the salon. Also, the vast majority of my nail polishes collection is by Essie and OPI - if you were wondering! How to know when your polish is expired? Check the package - Like all other beauty products, nail polishes expire. On the back of the bottle, you'll see a small symbol with a number on it - that tells you how long the polish is good for. As a general rule of thumb, nail polishes last about 2 years. It's dry and tacky - When you dip your brush, and a bunch of strings and goopy polish comes out, that means that it's gone dry. If it has a weird smell (besides the typical nail polish scent) - Old nail polish has an even more pungent chemical smell. If it stinks, toss it out! It's discolored - If the color is entirely different now than the day you bought it, the color probably has been compromised. That can happen from heat, sun exposure, or oxidation. It's separating - If you notice a clear demarcation line where the polished separates, it's probably time to go.  Why I Love DIY Nails: For me, painting my nails is relaxing! But it's super annoying when one of my favorite colors becomes too sticky to use. I know it's time to say goodbye to my polishes once the formula isn't like it was when I first purchased it.

Cow Print Tips 🐄
Check out these fun cow print nails I did! I think it's a fun way to keep up with trendy nails without doing too much! I've loved all the cow print nails that I've seen, but I just knew I'd get tired of looking at an entire manicure of them after a few days, this way I still get to try out the trend but add a classic twist with the French tips! I also love neutral nails and the multi colored hand trend going on so I decided to incorporate that in too! Let me know who you think and if you've tried out the cow print nail trend or have used different colors of the same design on each hand! I used KIARA SKY - Sock-Off Gel Polish Colorbase in the color Bare Skin as my base color, OPI - OPI Gel Nail Polish Alpine Snow for the white French tips, and The Gel Bottle Gel Polish in Brunette and Mustard for the cow print spots.

Nail polish remover? We don't need it with this amazing nail polish!
Nail polish remover? We don't need it with this amazing nail polish!
Peel-off nail polishes are emerging products that have just become popular in recent years. Their biggest highlight is that you can clean your nails anytime and anywhere without any nail polish remover or tools. You only need to tear it gently, and the nail polish will drop off without a trace. I still have doubts about this kind of product. Because if nail polish is so easy to remove nails, isn't it impossible to stay on the nails for a long time? MISS NELLA Peel off Kids Nail Polish $4.99 It's an interesting story. This product was borrowed from a friend's daughter. My friend's daughter likes nail art very much. This brand of nail polish is non-toxic and harmless. Both children and pregnant women can use it safely. I haven't tried Peel-off nail polishes, so I tried it after seeing it. Its color is very bright red with some orange tones of the same color. It's scarlet on your fingers, which I think is more suitable for summer. There are two characteristics of this product. First of all, this child-friendly nail polish is made of nontoxic formula, which can be easily peeled off without any toxic removers! Second, they peel off, not wash off, so you can continue using the water, swimming, washing the hands as much as you want. It will not come off unless it is peeled off. Because this product is non-toxic and harmless, it has little taste. If you apply a layer to your nails, it will dry in less than five minutes. Its brush is relatively small because children's nails are relatively small, so if your nails are relatively large, it may not be so convenient to apply. What surprises me most is that it is really easy to peel off. You just need to find a corner and tear it gently, and the whole nail polish will disappear from your nails, with almost no trace. But because of this characteristic, its duration is very short, and it will be mottled in three days or so.

Chanel or Dior?🥇Which nail polish is the winner?
Chanel or Dior?🥇Which nail polish is the winner?
People may not know enough about nail products. Because, on the one hand, people tend to go to shops to get manicures done. On the other hand, the quality of nail products is very difficult to distinguish. But in fact, there is a great difference between nail polish and nail polish remover. One brand and another brand may use completely different ingredients in the same product, and the final results may be similar, but the effects on nails will be different. Among the many brands of nail polish, Chanel and Dior are very famous. At my friend's house, I came across one of her Chanel nail polish, which is similar in color to my Dior nail polish. So I borrowed this Chanel nail polish from her and compared it with two bottles. DIOR VERNIS 494 JUNON $28 This is a bottle of nail polish that I like very much. Its color is haze blue in my opinion. I bought this product because its color is very good. Although it is blue, its saturation is very low, which means it will not appear thick with fingers and dark skin. Enriched with organic silicon, the new Dior Vernis strengthens the nail surface for extra-long wear. The Techno-Polymer creates a seamless bond between the nail and the enamel. At the same time, it does not contain any toluene, formaldehyde, phthalates, or camphor, which is not harmful to our health. It has a big brush, and it only takes a few brushes to fill my nails. The color rendering is very high, and its duration can last for two weeks. CHANEL LE VERNIS 566 $22 This nail polish borrowed from my friend is a very popular color among Chanel. Its color is blue, with some shades of green and grey. Personally, I think it's lower-key than Dior's color. As a long-wear, protective nail polish with lasting shine designed to make vibrant colors dazzle. Its brush will be smaller, and it will take longer to use, but the corners of the nail will be easier. Compared to Dior, Chanel has less time to dry nail polish. But this product is only valid for a week or so. Color: I prefer Dior's nail polish. Price: Chanel's is cheaper. Durability: Dior's is longer. Ease of application: Chanel is better. Smell: I like Chanel more.

HOW TO SAVE OLD NAIL POLISH W/ BASE COAT
HOW TO SAVE OLD NAIL POLISH W/ BASE COAT
We all have an old nail polish that we’ve used until it’s basically a dry, gluggy mess at the bottom of the bottle - that’s what OPI Tickle My France-y is to me. It’s a really nice wearable nude pink that I just love. It’s been gluggy for a few months now and I just haven’t worn it as much as I wanted to because the formula is so dry and hard to use. I know what you’re thinking - just put nail polish remover in the formula to thin it, right? WRONG. You should never do this with nail polish as it ruins the formula over time. Nail polish remover DISSOLVES nail polish, remember - so it actually destroys it over time. Ideally, you should use proper nail polish thinner, but that can be annoying to find (I haven’t been able to find it for a while). ORLY - Polish Thinner What if there was something that you could add to the polish that had the benefits of: ➡️Strengthening your nails ➡️Improving wear time ➡️Refilling your nail polish Well, that thing is basecoat. Here’s the thing - I’ve had this bottle of Rejuvacote for years now and it’s hardly gone down in volume. So I figured, why not use it to revive my bottle of Tickle My France-y? I actually did this before I decided to post about it (doh) so I don’t have before pictures, but trust me when I say it was unusable and gloopy. OPI - OPI Nail Lacquer I decided to add about a fifth of the bottle to my OPI Tickle My France-y and see what happened. To my delight, it worked a treat (and didn’t dilute the colour too much either). It’s just like new, plus my bottle went from 1/4 left to just over 2/3 full of polish - and now it’s reinforced with a nail strengthening formula! I call that a win and I think I’ll be keeping this on hand to add to any other gloopy polishes. duri - Rejuvacote 1 Nail Growth System

CUSTOM GLITTER NAIL POLISH 💅🏽 💗✨
CUSTOM GLITTER NAIL POLISH 💅🏽 💗✨
I love the look of extra glittery nails but could never find the perfect shade that holds its sparkle. I decided to create my own custom shade using a loose, nail glitter I bought off of Amazon. To do: 💅🏽First, I apply a layer of glitter nail polish to my nails. I used OPI - OPI Nail Lacquer in “throw me a kiss” 💅🏽Next, I mix together said nail polish with the loose glitter until it is at a smooth consistency. 💅🏽Lastly, I apply a layer of clear nail polish. This not only helps with keeping the nail polish on longer, but it evens out any clumps that could have been created from the glitter. The glitter I used is no longer available on Amazon but if you search loose nail glitter, you will have plenty of shades to choose from. (When mixing glitters into nail polish, keep in mind the color of the glitter tends to lighten up. Also always use nail glitter opposed to craft|makeup glitter as it is milled into small particles that do not create lumps) What do you guys think? 💭

BKIND’s non-toxic nail polish line makes me feel like it’s ok to do my nails more often. As someone who is eczema-prone, I know that everything I use matters for my health... and honestly, the environment in general. Why do I like this nail polish line? it’s 10-free (10 less unfavourable ingredients found in most nail polishes) it’s vegan & cruelty-free despite being non-toxic, it’s long-lasting! it dries pretty fast great variety of colour options smooth texture can get away with ONE coat! What does NON-TOXIC nail polish entail? It excludes 10 toxic chemicals that are usually found in conventional nail polishes, such as formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor, DPB, xylene and paraben, perfumes & animal products (let’s not use animal products unnecessarily.)
