Is dry brushing still a thing? 🤔
SKIN TYPE: sensitive/combo/acne PRODUCTS: Necessaire eucalyptus body wash and body exfoliant, Necessaire body lotion, Aesop rind concentrate body balm, EcoTools dry brush I’ve decided to take a long, luxurious bath for this weekend, starting off with dry brushing before I dive into these lovely Necessaire products. I’ve been using the EcoTools dry brush, and it’s pretty great. It fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and is light enough to easily navigate over the contours of your body. The only con is that it’s difficult to reach parts of my back with this. I remember when I first started dry brushing, I found it somewhat abrasive but after watching some tutorials (there is a dry brush technique) I’ve managed to go through the motions comfortably without exacerbating my sensitive skin. I found my skin is baby soft after dry brushing, but I haven’t seen any reduction in cellulite or lymphatic drainage, as some holistic beauty gurus claim. Have you tried dry brushing? What was your experience?

Spa routine on a budget
I honestly love feeling like I’m at a spa just relaxing but imagine doing that for a way lower price!!!! 1. I first start off by washing my face so it can be clean and prepped for what I’m going to use. I use the DR. BRONNER'S - Baby Unscented Pure-Castile Liquid Soap this is so gentle on the skin and not stripping and provides the moisture that your skin can be lacking. If I’m breaking out heavily or have dark spots I use GOOD MOLECULES - Clarify & cleanse bar this clears up my skin in about two days and feels great on my skin 2. Next I then go in with SheaMoisture - African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask this mud mask is AMAZING. You can see it go into my pores and get the hunk that’s deep in them!! When I washed this mask off my skin was sooo smooth and my pores shrunk a little as well which is amazing for me because I struggle with my pores. 3. I then go in with DICKINSON'S - Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Hydrating Toner this toner is not as stripping as the other ones because it is alcohol free, and I know some people don’t like witch hazel but the antioxidant properties have helped my fungal acne so much and my irritation. 4. I then choose a serum. The serums I have are not listed on the app yet but I got the Revolution skincare from ulta.com and I got the retinol from dollar tree ( creds to my boyfriend because I made him pick it up for me) I don’t use both BECAUSE YOU SHLULD NEVER MIX THE TWO INGREDIENTS. It depends on how my skin looks that helps determine which one to use. 5. While that is sitting on my face to soak in I move to my lips. I first use e.l.f. - Lip Exfoliator, Brown Sugar, 0.16 oz (4.4 g) it can be a little harsh in the lips but gets so much off. I then move on with wet n wild - Perfect Pout Sleeping Lip Mask and honestly such an amazing lip mask for sooooo cheap it’s the next day and my lips are still extremely moisturized. 6. I then go in with the under eye roller (also from dollar tree) I keep it in the fridge so I can get the cooling sensation that my eyes need. I also know that it can be weird buying skincare from dollar tree just be careful and mindful of ingredients I used these products last night and woke up with no irritation ( and this is coming from a person with extremely sensitive skin ) and no breakouts. 7. I then go in with my teeth whitener (also from dollar tree, when I say on a budget I mean it 😂) it works so well and haven’t notice any sensitivity !! 8. I then put on my The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA which can sting just a tiny bit because of my sensitive skin but works AMAZING!!! Overall, if someone says not to use something but it works for you don’t listen what works for your skin works for you! Everyone’s skin is different and unique. Always except advice no one should judge and make sure to have fun.

Drugstore Morning skincare routine
I first start off with GOOD MOLECULES - Clarify & cleanse bar This bar works wonders for me in a matter of days. It doesn’t strip my skin and I’ve noticed my blemishes have gone away within 2-3 days. I use this bar with a sponge. When using a sponge make sure you switch it often because sponges can carry bacteria. Next I go in with DICKINSON'S - Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Hydrating Toner I made sure that out of all the witch hazel I choose the one that was alcohol free so it won’t stop my face. Although it can strip my fave just a little it works so well with everything else and it gives you that glow that you need. After that I use REVOLUTION - Blemish and Pore Refining Serum - 10% Niacinamide + 1% Zinc I’ve recently switch to the one because I noticed the ordinary one can be sticky at time and can kind of have a soapy like texture when working into my skin. This one is not sticky and works into your skin so nicely I have noticed faster results with this one because the pores on my nose text to be pretty big and kind of one of my major concerns with skin care. After using this for a couple of days that pores on my nose have shrunken significantly. Lastly I use The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I do love this moisturizer so much on top of the glow that the toner and serum give me this just adds to it (not in a oily way more of natural glow) it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. The reason that it gets four stars is because if the fact that it still does sting my skin a bit but nothing unbearable. Overall, these products have been working well on top my skin and have made a huge difference. I also do use sunscreen but I’m having trouble finding the right one and will continue testing until I can find one I feel works best.

✨The body wash that smells super fresh✨
This is probably one of my favourite body wash/gels. MARIO BADESCU - A.H.A Botanical Body Soap I have no bad things to say about this soap. It’s lightweight, lathers the skin nicely & smells like grapefruit&ginseng. I love the scent of grapefruit, it just feels super clean and fresh when I get out of the shower. The other thing is has A.H.A which helps with brightness. It can help with reducing the appearance of any scarring but it’s still gentle so it doesn’t irritate the skin. The only thing I wish is if this came in a larger size! I’m always running out.

EMPTY: Affordable yet effective AHA Soap
I bought this body soap on a whim at Amazon. I was getting desperate with my body acne and my scars on my back and and didn’t want to revert back to my body scrub that does nothing. The MARIO BADESCU - A.H.A Botanical Body Soap stars grapefruit and papaya extract that breaks down dead skin cells to reveal smooth and soft skin, while ginseng extract rejuvenates your senses. I noticed that my acne scars fade and my skin tone even out (sorta) halfway through the usage of this bottle. And what’s amazing is that it isn’t drying at all! It didn’t completely clear out my acne though since I needed a different product for inflammation, so I’m not going to take it against this soap. This is a very affordable product ($14 for 16oz) and available at at major beauty stores. Am I going to repurchase? Already did 😊 👍🏼

Fresh Beauty Lychee Shower gel and body lotion
Absolutely love this duo! The scent is so fresh and fruity. It is very fragrant so I don’t recommend this to anyone who is allergic or has any type of reaction to fragrance. The shower gel ladders very nicely in the shower and when immediately followed up with the lotion it leaves you feeling refreshed. fresh - Sugar Lychee Bath & Shower Gel fresh - Sugar Lychee Body Lotion

let’s talk lush shower gels🌊
LUSH - Plum Rain this has been my go to for so long! to start all products at lush are vegan and they are an amazing. company, you can get samples of anything before you try it, this is my go to body wash forever, love the scent and so little goes so far same with all the GELS LUSH - Sleepy Shower Gel this is a heavenly lavender scent that also is a beautiful ombré color, i used to only use it at night but i typically switch between this and plum rain LUSH - Conga Shower Jelly the shower jellies are a little weird, you have to kind of scoop them and rub them out but they are fun and vibrant and last a long time, the scent of this one was off putting to me at first but now i really enjoy you, remember you can always test these out at lush before buying LUSH - Yog Nog Showering Gel this seasonal scent is caramel delight! it smells so good and perfect for the winter months, only available around christmas as well as other products with this scent it smells amazing and is a gold glitter

BEST OF: Body Wash 🏆
My awards for body wash... I have pretty sensitive skin with different needs depending on what I’m doing in the bath or shower. These products just shine in my opinion! 🏆 The best everyday body wash Dr Teal's - Activated Charcoal and Black Lava Salt Body Wash The Dr Teal’s wash has been one of my favorites for a long time. I’ve used their epsom bath salts for a while as well since I exercise often and get muscle fatigue and soreness. I decided to give it a go because 1) it has a pump, 2) it’s 24oz for $6, and 3) the brand is cruelty free. Honestly I love the lather of this wash and use it as my regular wash in the shower. The scent is nice but not overpowering and it helps keep my skin from drying out in this harsh winter. 🏆 The best body scrub MANNA KADAR BEAUTY - Sea Minerals Champagne Charcoal Scrub I rarely ever use scrubs. Ever! My skin is so sensitive and irritable that I usually just gently exfoliate with a wash cloth. However, I got this in a fab fit fun box last year and I’ve been using it once every 4-6 months since. I use it on my legs as a pre-shave exfoliator to help ease any hives or bumps I always get when I shave. It’s very nice, but I’m not sure I could justify $40 (the listing price on amazon) for this and will probably just use facial scrubs on my legs after I run out of it. I do enjoy using it though!! 🏆 The best special occasion wash LUSH - Sleepy Shower Gel The sleepy line from Lush has been one of my favorites for a very long time. I’m always skeptical of products that contain many essential oils but this one does not irritate my skin and I usually use it only when I bathe or shower at night to help me wind down. A little bit of this goes a VERY long way! It’s a bit pricey at $10 for a 3.3oz bottle but it’s going to last me a long time since I don’t use it every time I shower. I recommend asking for a sample at lush to see if it irritates your skin. It’s very thin and lathers up a lot but doesn’t leave you feeling tight or dry. What are your favorite body washes?

EMPTY—my favorite body wash for sore muscles
EMPTY—my favorite body wash for sore muscles
I’m on my feet a lot—some for work, but mostly when I exercise daily. Getting older, my muscles get sore easier so I looked for a brand that could help me with my sore muscles in multiple capacities. Enter Dr. Teal’s. This brand has helped me in so many ways...they make products including the empty here: Dr Teal's - Activated Charcoal and Black Lava Salt Body Wash with Epsom salt, which is a soothing salt that eases joint and muscle pain at an affordable price that is cruelty free. After going through 800 bags of their Epsom salt, I decided to try out their body wash early last year...and it’s all I’ve used since! A huge bottle is $6 and easily lasts me 4-5 months. I usually purchase multiple at a time so I already have a backup for it ready. This particular body wash has activated charcoal in it as well, which seems kind of gimmicky to me but it doesn’t take anything away from the wash itself, that smells nice, has a nice lather, and has hydrating and soothing ingredients like Shea butter and aloe. I highly recommend this wash to anyone wanting to try something new. At $6 for 24oz, you can’t go wrong here! I give this wash 5 out of 5 stars and will repurchase it forever!

The sol de Janeiro Brazilian 4 play moisturizing shower cream gel is a creamy, lathering body wash that gently nourishes and cleanses the skin! This can be solutions for dryness, dullness, and uneven texture. The fragrance family of this is warm and spicy and is like warm and sweet gourmands. The texture of this body wash is very thick creamy and very soft on the skin, it feels amazing! I absolutely love using this in the shower is is so soothing and smells absolutely amazing just like salted caramel, pistachio, and vanilla. I have used it for about 6 months from just seeing a lot of hype from it and how it smells absolutely amazing! I have repurchased this about two times and just ran out again, so I will need to repurchase in 2020 soon! It is so hydrating and didn’t break me out, it’s so made my body a lot softer. I would definitely recommend this to others it is so worth the hype! It is very worth it for $25 for 13oz which is so good!🥥🍍SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel

Crème brûlée bāsd body wash!
Crème brûlée bāsd body wash!
Finding a good body wash can be just as complicated as finding good products for your face. Just like my face, the rest of me is equally dry. I’ve used so many products over the years from Dove to Dr. Bronners. Most of those products left my skin feeling tight, stripped, dry or all three. My best friend put me on to a brand called bāsd body care and I’m forever drooling over this creamy body wash. All my dry bitches raise your hands because this one is for us! 🙌🏾 This bāsd body wash is plant based and the first ingredient is aloe leaf juice. There's other good things in it like green tea and essential oils. Bāsd is also tested by a third party called 'think dirty' where they test for toxicity in body care and they scored a perfect 0. :) The body wash comes in three scents, crème brûlée, sandalwood, and mint. They also have lotions to match! This body wash leaves my skin feeling moisturized and I will be purchasing again! OLAY - FOAMING WHIP BODY WASH *prone to eczema and dry skin I bought this little travel size body wash while I was in Calgary travelling for work. Long story short is that I forgot my entire shower bag and toiletries at home and had to immediately go to shoppers to replace everything. Ugh. This was like $5? A little pricey but expected because it’s W H I P P E D so obviously very unique and fancy and worth the money. HA. This smelled nice. I’ve always been a big fan of the Shea butter scents and whatnot so this was a safe bet for me. It also was kind of neat to have a whipped body wash instead of the usual liquid or gel. I expected it to be super moisturizing and I found that it was very not moisturizing at all. I really wanted to like this more. It’s just that, I would get out of the shower and feel how dry my skin was immediately. I could even seen the cracking/ash on my legs immediately after I used it. Maybe because it was winter and cold and I was extra dry but still? As expected I wouldn’t repurchase this but I hope they can do better with it because I really do love the texture piece.

My chest can get very sensitive and is prone to breakouts, so I always opt for a fragrance-free body wash to prevent any irritation and potential acne-causing ingredients. But, fragrance-free options have always seemed so lame to me and I was so excited to try Nécessaire - The Body Wash because of how cool the brand is. The formula is super gentle and has a nice lather to it. It didn’t upset my sensitive skin either, which is amazing.
