Tap to find out what I learned in 2020🙏🏼
Product – Revlon Brush This was my life saver from having to brush, blow dry and style! To all my ladies, you know how hard it is to be a girl. This brush was literally a trend for me before Tiktok showed up!! Im so glad I get to discover this early. It’s just too bad my friend got the Dyson one after I bought this which was better than I had haha Trend - Curtain Bangs I have always been a fan of the 80s and 90s look and the moment it became a trend, I literally took my scissors and started cutting! Im so happy it’s a trend because it’s something different and very out of the norm not just having a regular blow out if you get what I mean My Best Look I have to say that this photo had me on the red lipstick LMAO I didn’t care about my natural face but I initially bought this specific red lipstick because of that Tiktok trend. If you don’t know, it when there was a red hair girl I think who said that you can be looking all hot and snatched if you just put your hair down, grab a red lipstick and finish it off with some glasses! That was BOMB AF!!! So this is what I look like unfiltered! Favourite Creator on Cherie @Beautycation_by_shruti She has accomplished so much being on Cherie and getting to know her at our Creators community! Every post she made is just simply educational and Im so jealous of her aesthetics because I got nothing to put out to do the same she does to make it as creative as hers LOL Overall, she’s just a very sweet and creative person to get to know which makes her my inspiration💞 Something I learned During halfway through the end of 2020, I really suffered a lot! Im not sure if it’s because of some karma that happened that’s why I had to go through this deep and personal situation. I felt helpless, unable to control and cannot do anything about what was going on at the time and overall, I felt my hardest to the ground throughout my years of existence. Never have I ever actually thought this will happen to me. For this year, I learned to always be as humble as I can, have an open mindset and remember that nothing changes if nothing changes. Those are the key things I can summarize it. Our own self is responsible and to blame for our decisions and the choices we make. No matter how many times life brings you down and negativity tries to control you, never let it be your reason why you stopped and give up. Because you get to decide what you want to do and go from here after what happened. Life is life, you cannot learn something without failure and regrets. That is my learning key that I want to bring to 2021 and the future me. Positivity is what held me accountable to overcome what I said. To bring light to what happened to me this year, it was a learning experience going through adulting myself to be more responsible and assertive 💬What did you learn in 2020? Comment down below!👇🏼

Don’t pay 400$ to buy a dryer any more!!
If you are in any way debating the purchase of this magical hair wand, PLEASE debate NO LONGER!  REVLON - One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer My hair is so long and although it is naturally on the thin side .. it has always been a multi-step task to get it looking nice, shiny and smooth (all at once) and forget volume - as it has always been an impossible achievement (except when I would go to the hair salon of course, but that’s totally obvi.).Even gave up my Dyson Dryer because it’s a little messy to use everyday. And one of my fellow alumni sorority sisters posted on our alumni chat how great this product is and how it hasn’t changed her life... and I must admit even after reading all the amazing reviews (well mostly amazing) I still hesitated a bit before pressing the order button; but the fact that very little time on my hands gave me the final push .. and boy am I glad I did!  I HATE having to blow dry and flat iron my hair everyday! It not only takes forever, it's incredibly damaging. I didn't have high hopes, and when I took it out of the box and couldn't find any instructions I resigned myself to thinking that this would be thrown into the large pile of hair tools that I would never use again. Miraculously, when I turned on the dryer (I only used the low setting), I realized right away that it was incredibly easy to use. To my disbelief, when I was finished with my hair, it looked as if I had just left the salon! It was completely straight, smooth and silky without a flyaway in sight. My drying time has been cut in half.. what before took 2 hair tools (I would first use my hair dryer and then my hair iron so, results were also  pinned straight ALWAYS) now is done with only 1 hair tool which not only leaves my hair shiny, frizz free and super smooth but also with some volume!! It works exactly like Dyson but with a much lower price ladies!!! Please do yourself a favor and buy it... you can thank me later..

Good hair day!
FABLE&MANE - HoliRoots Pre-wash Hair Treatment Oil used this overnight to help my scalp and thirsty ends. Love this! Smells good unlike some Ayurvedic hair oils. Plus when I rinsed it out the next morning my hair felt soft and was easier to detangle. FABLE&MANE - HoliRoots Cleansing Shampoo I have been searching for a good shampoo and conditioner for awhile. I have even tried some of those online quizzes where they make a custom shampoo and conditioner. But none of them have really passed the test until I tried this shampoo. It has enough moisture and slip to easily detangle my fine wavy hair but it’s not too heavy either. FABLE&MANE - HoliRoots Nourishing Conditioner Love this conditioner! Holy Grail product! My hair is really damaged when I bleached it to try to go purple. 😓 I have really dry ends and no conditioners I have tried have had the moisture and slip I was looking for. Until this one! Not only can I detangling my hair in the shower a lot easier my hair detangler even after I rinsed it out and it’s almost dry. I did mix it with THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Hair Treatment for the first time and I like it even more. FABLE&MANE - HoliRoots Repairing Hair Mask Used it after the conditioner to moisturize my dry, damaged hair. There’s nothing I don’t love about this product. Love the smell love how it feels on my hair and love how my hair feels after. Rinsed out and had mega wavy definition after squishing some of the THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Hair Treatment in my hair I went in with the THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Brightening Hair Treatment to protect and help with my damaged hair. Both of these products helped so I had no frizz and was getting a lot of wave definition so I decided not to go in with any gel. Put it up in an AQUIS - Lisse Luxe Desert Rose Hair Wrap for twenty minutes dyson - Supersonic Hair Dryer defuse my hair and ended up with really good looking waves. At least for me because this is the first time in four months I have like my hair enough to not to braid it to help give it more wave.

CREATE LOOSE CURLS
The Babyliss 1 inch curling iron is the best styling tool I have ever used! I personally think the curls hold way longer when using it compared to a wand or straightener curl. I think 1 inch is the perfect size to create a loose but still defined curl, and it usually loosens up to a wave after a couple hours. My hair stylist recommended this curling iron to me after years of trying to achieve the perfect curls with my straightener, and never being quite satisfied. I’ve been using it consistently for 2 years now, and it’s still my favorite styling tool. I also love the price point at $60, and you can find it at a variety of stores online or check Ulta! I always use a heat protectant before, and finish with a light spray of hair spray to hold the curl even longer. My hair is on the thicker side, and has a bit of natural wave/frizz, and this has been the perfect curling iron for my hair type! #cheriecreator

Check out this STUNNING before and after of one of my best friends. She told me “Make my hair as light as possible” so I did exactly what she said. With her hair being as dark as it was, this was a HUUUGE deal. And a long process....but so worth it!!! I mean... LOOK AT IT😍 All I can say is foils foils foils. She looked like she was trying to contact some aliens with the amount of foils that were in her hair...I’m serious. I made it super blended around the hairline by foiling all around the face. This really helped lighten up the pieces around the hairline to make her feel extra blonde. Love the curls? I used a flat iron first, to smooth out any frizzy hair. Then I used a BaByliss PRO - Nano Titanium Spring Curling Iron size 1 and 1/4 inch, curling all pieces away from the face. Yes you’re gonna look like Shirley temple for a minute😂 I’d suggest spraying in a texture spray with hold such as KEVIN.MURPHY - Bedroom.Hair or a touchable hairspray such as amika: - Touchable Hairspray to really hold in those curls, then comb them out with a wide tooth comb! You’ll have the perfect curls all day!

No bad hair days
The Hair Blow Dryer Brush is my newest obsession ($100 PR) ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I used to dread blow drying my hair because holding a brush in one hand and the hair dryer in the other was not the most pleasant experience. Now, with the 2-in-1, I actually look forward to styling it; albeit, I still only style my hair (maybe) a few times a month. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This tool is very lightweight and super easy to use! I first dry my hair with my hair turban from @aquishair until it’s slightly damp and then prep with the velveteen dream smoothing balm and the shield anti-humidity spray. I love the smooth look I achieve and that it’s rather low maintenance. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Use code: GLOWYVIRGO for 10% off @amika (affiliate code).

Blow-Drying At Home: High Volume + Low Frizz
My thick yet fine hair naturally straddles the 2A/2B line, depending on a variety of factors: humidity level, days since last shampoo, products used, etc. But I love using the *amika: - Hair Blow Dryer Brush to add volume and tame my waves without straightening them, eliminating frizz and adding shine. I typically only heat-style on special occasions or when extending time between washes- here’s my no-wash day polished routine! 1. Separate: I separate my hair into three sections with a wide-tooth comb: crown, middle, nape. Crown is pulled into a small ponytail, then middle joins it using a clip. 2. Protect: Apply *amika: - Blockade Heat Protectant Serum liberally to the current layer- I run my fingers through the layer to help it soak in. 3. Prep: Spritz roots with amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray xxxx 4. Style: Starting at the roots, I gently and slowly slide the brush, moving down that section of hair vertically. Repeat throughout the current layer until hair is to desired dryness. 5. Re-Section: I’m kind of Type A about things so I tie up the current layer of separated hair before letting down the next layer. It also helps keep from over-drying my hair and causing frizz! Repeat Steps 4-5 Until Hair Is Dry 6. Extra Moisture: Before my hair fully cools, I rub another pump of *amika: - Blockade Heat Protectant Serum between the tips of my fingers and focus on moisturizing/protecting the ends of my hair. I’ve noticed this helps my hair look more polished and extend the life of the hairstyle as far as frizz is concerned! 7. Smooth: Once my hair has cooled and the serum has soaked in, I finish everything off with a few sprays of *amika: - Silken Up Dry Conditioner and a thorough fluffing with my hands! I love how shiny and soft my hair is, perfectly smooth despite the serious volume and movement offered by the styler 💕 * PR Sample #CheriePartner

My Favorite Hair Accessory 🐆
I have thin straight hair that is bleached blonde and my favorite hair accessory is definitely the sprunchies by Invisibobble. There are a bunch of products by them but the leopard print, black and light pink sprunchies are my favorite. They have a harder elastic in the middle of them, a coily pony tail made out of some sort of plastic like their original ones, and they’re so soft! These hold hair really well while giving the perk of soft fabric on the outside. I first found these at Sephora and they’re $8 and just meant to be a secure hair tie with extra cuteness. These really take a plain ponytail or bun to the next level and it makes me feel cute when wearing one, especially the leopard one. The best part? You don’t have to do anything different than normal to use them! You can just make a regular bun or ponytail by tipping over your head, gathering up your hair and pulling it over, twisting it and repeating until you run out. I generally do two twists but could do three if I wanted to with my hair. These can also be found at Ulta, Target and Beauty Expert. invisibobble - Sprunchie Scrunchie #CheriePartner

Must Have Hair Accessories🎀
Okay so I’ll just say it now, I’m obsessed with scrunchies. I love to use them in my hair, wear them on my wrist, use them as photo props...the list goes on. My hair type is fine, straight, and long. I often have my best luck on hair that is at least 2 days post wash, often the dirtier the better🤪 Some of my favourite scrunchies are the invisibobble - Sprunchie Scrunchie they are so cute and because there is a “coily pony tail” inside the scrunchie, they hold my fine hair super well. They retail for about $10 each Canadian which I think is reasonable. I personally wear a scrunchie in my hair probably 4/7 days a week. I love that they hold my hair, look adorable, and don’t leave a big ugly crease in my hair after wear. I honestly rarely use any other form of pony tail holders anymore and rely solely on my scrunchie collection (it’s large). One of my favourite scrunchie styles is the top knot (pictured in the second photo) or the half-up too knot (pictured third). To achieve these looks, I simply pull all or half my hair up and back using my hands (I like it to be a bit messy) and then wrap it around itself. If I do all of my hair I’ll secure it with a coiled pony tail holder before adding the scrunchie; when I do half my hair I just use the scrunchie. Have you hopped on the scrunchie trend? What are some other hair accessories you’re loving right now? #CheriePartner

Hair Care Essentials!
Hi Everyone! So I wanted to make a post on my hair care routine on the days that I do wash my hair because it has helped my hair so much as opposed to my old routine which was the customized shampoo and conditioner that either dried out my hair or my scalp or both. This is such an important time of the year to make sure our hair gets all the right care it needs because the air is so dry. So... let’s begin! First, before I get into the shower I use my Wet brush - Original Detangler to get out all the loose hairs so I don’t have as much of an issue in the shower. Next, in the shower I rinse my hair with just water and then start my shampoo process. I use a few finger globs of the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo and rub it in with my fingers first. Then before I rinse it out I use the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager to better massage it in my hair. I love it because it really gets the shampoo into my scalp and the shampoo foams so nicely and feels wonderful in my hair. After the shampoo and massager, I rinse it out and next I use the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Peppermint Oil Cooling Jelly Conditioner which is great with everything combined but the one downside is it doesn’t feel like it’s actually conditioning my hair. You really have to brush it with a comb in the shower in order to spread it all through your hair. But hey, it does the job. Rub that in for about a minute and rinse out. When I get out of the shower, I use (second picture) this microfiber hair towel to soak up all the water fast. I couldn’t find it as a product on this site but I got it on amazon for cheap and it does wonders to the drying process of my hair. I would say it’s just as good as the fancier hair towels. Once my hair gets a little dryer but still damp, I part my hair so my scalp is shower in the areas I get dandruff the most and add a few drops of the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Serum right onto the skin and massage it in with my fingers. Next I spray the dpHUE - Apple Cider Vinegar Leave-in Hair Therapy onto my hair generously and brush it through again with my wet brush. After that’s all said and done, I put my hair into a braid and let it air dry. Right now it’s in the process of drying but later I will add the final look to the post. I’m very excited about this new hair care routine and I think it’s doing wonders to my hair and scalp! ✨

How To Detangle Hair Without Damaging It
I have fine medium length wavy hair. I have been really focusing on trying to grow it longer. The key to growing it longer is keeping it from getting damaged. My hair tangles very easily after washing it and when I sleep on it. With trial and error with all types of products and tools, I discovered my go steps to less damage and detangling the right way. I purchased the Wet brush that is meant for detangling hair. I never realized that brushing my hair with the incorrect brush when my hair is wet or dry can really do damage over time. This brush was really life changing for my hair. I use it on my wet hair once I am out of the shower or even sometimes in the shower after conditioning. The bristles are really soft and when you use it, it doesn’t pull at your hair at all. I start from the bottom of my hair and work my way up. I have noticed I was losing a lot less hair when I started using this. It is worth trying to prevent further damage in the future. I will not go without it. There is also a product I will use while brushing my hair wet that helps with any knots. It is the Dry Bar Prep Rally, Prime and prep detangler. This product has definitely been a game changer with my hair. Not only does it help with any tangles, it also is heat protectant. So, when you use any hot tools, blow dryer, straightener, or curling iron it will help protect your hair from any damage. I will apply only when my hair is wet all over. This is something I will not go without after washing my hair. I lose less hair and after blowing drying it leaves it soft and smooth and smelling amazing.

Definitely worth the money. 10/10 recommend
dyson - Airwrap Styler I absolutely love love love this system. I have little to no coordination when it comes to styling my hair. This system has made curling my hair sooooo much easier. I would recommend this product to people like me. I have a genetic disorder that makes every joint in my body dislocate multiple times a day so the less time i can spend on my hair there better. It is light weight and balanced. With a normal hair dryer I would spend about 20-30 minutes on my hair. With my Dyson I spend about 5 minutes. If I'm curling my hair with an iron I would spend 1-1.5 hours and have multiple burns. With the Dyson it takes me 30 minutes if my hair is dripping wet. It took a while to get used to the length of the base butt once you are used to it, you don't notice it as much. I am also able to dry my 3 year old step daughter's hair in under 5 minutes. It is much quieter than a normal dryer which means I can do my hair without waking up anyone in my house so that is also a major win in my book.

Is The Dyson AirWrap Worth It? (It’s not!)
dyson - Airwrap Styler First things first, I got lucky and had Dyson credit & a discount which is the literal only reason I have this magical tool in my possession bc it is horrendously expensive & if you don’t wanna read this whole review (I talk too much, i get it) then simply put, it is absolutely NOT worth the investment. 📍My hair: very fine & dry, color treated, kinda sad overall 🤷🏼‍♀️ 📍Dolllas: Smooth & Control System $499 (what I have), entire system with all attachments $549 ❌Reccomend: Simply put, big fat NOPEEE (for not so simply put, see below) Now, if you find a sale or have all the time in the world to master the tool then I def say go for it because it’s amazing that you can do everything with one tool + all its fancy attachments. I think the best way to do this would be to break it down to attachment & talk about them inidicidually? So here goes: ✅Blow drying: This thing is MAGIC. I already have fine hair that dries fast but this baby has my hair going from wet to dry in like 7 minutes. AMAZING ok and hot without like being so hot you wanna die? ✅Firm smoothing brush: This is hard to get used to bc the base of the tool is so big but once you get a hang of it again, AMAZING. I was blown away that I could get a salon looking blowout legit sitting on my butt at my house. 1 or 2 YouTube tutorials and you’ll be a pro. ❌Coanda effect curlers - Now don’t get my wrong this whole curl-with-air thing is dope and feels like sorcery but they’re my least favorite attachment. I only use them like every once in a while if I have time because it takes FOREVER. Again I have thin hair and find that I have to told each section on the air for 10ish seconds then a couple more with the cold shot and it takes so long I wanna die by the time my hair is ready. Plus I have thin hair so if your hair is thick RIP bc idk how you’ll make it. If you’re dedicated though and not as lazy as me, you might love this bc the results are INSANE (see photo) like bombshell VS photo shoot amazing. And my hair holds curl really well as I’m naturally wavy but I’ve heard of people’s curls falling out in just a few short hours - so this I’m assuming is YMMV. Again as a general wrap up, it’s really not worth it. Save your money by buying a Dyson dryer on its own or drying brush (like revlon or Drybar) individually. #CherieCreator #Dyson

Hair masks that work
Hair masks that work
I actually got into Soulfood years ago when my hairdresser actually gave me a sample after my (somewhat) regular hair appointment (I go once a year 🙃). I tried it on and immediately after the first use I fell in love, and so not long afterwards, I purchased it myself ☺️ and even though I use it quite infrequently (I’m way better with skin maintenance than hair maintenance) I’m still in love with it and it will probably be the only hair mask I ever buy again!

☁️💎The proper way to use a facial roller💎☁️
☁️💎The proper way to use a facial roller💎☁️
🎬Very new to doing videos, & didn’t know how to add closed captions; so for deaf Cherie community members, I’ve transcribed everything I said below: Hey I don’t usually do videos. I hate the sound of my voice. But I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT FACIAL ROLLERS & THE PROPER WAY TO ACTUALLY USE THEM. Because I see a lot of people kind of just like *crazy rolling motion* rolling away & it’s not gonna totally hurt you, but a ‘Gua Sha’ is a totally different story- that actually you really need technique & proper product to use under it for slippage. But this (a facial roller) is a little bit more beginner level, if you’re into Lymphatic Drainage (totally said that wrong lol) & all that cool stuff. 🐺*My dog interrupts me• To dog: Do you have to be in here? ☁️There’s my cat in the background. -Ok so, I’m going to apply something for slip. When I originally got the HERBIVORE - Rose Quartz Facial Roller I bought it with the HERBIVORE - PINK CLOUD Rosewater Moisture Creme which was a pretty cool, lightweight cream. But I didn’t end up repurchasing it after, just because it wasn’t my favorite. I like something a little richer. Anyways, now that I’ve applied some of this all over my face. This is TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream Please ignore my crazy eye injury. Actually what I should have done before I did this *puts up hair w/ *brooklinen - Large Silk Scrunchies CAN YOU TELL THIS IS MY FIRST VIDEO😂Should probably put my hair up- That worked ok. So I don’t feel like I have enough slippage around my eye, but I’m gonna give you guys a little tutorial anyways. So this isn’t even my favorite roller- Actually have a surprise for you guys coming up- Just because of sanitary reasons, I have already- I guess I just rolled her face with it but whatever, I’ve already cleaned it with one of these equate - Sterile Alcohol Prep Pads I do that all the time. Rose Quartz & other stones have porous texture & can actually trap bacteria 🧫 & stuff that you might not wanna be smushing all over your face. A lot of people do this back & forth motion all over & I actually thought that was totally fine when I first got this a couple years ago. I didn’t really know what I was doing or do any research about it. 🌹But what I will say, is it actually has a lot more (positive) effects for people that have headaches or migraines etc, if you use this technique that I’ve learned. Instead of back & forth motion, you’re gonna want to, from the center line of your face, do only outward motion & lift- so you’re not rubbing back & forth. The smaller side you can use for your eye area & stuff, but you pretty much get the gist. *cats make noise* Ok, my cats are doing some stuff. I think I’m just gonna end this video here. You get it. Roll out & lift, always be gentle. I found that it’s actually so much more relaxing & soothing. I think you get more of the effects from using it this way.

WORTH IT?? Review: Dyson supersonic hair dryer
WORTH IT?? Review: Dyson supersonic hair dryer
PROS: 🟢 NO HEAT DAMAGE 🟢 DRIES QUICKLY CONS: 🔴 EXPENSIVE 🔴 KINDA HEAVY WITH ALL OF THE ACCESSORIES (not really portable) Okay so this is EXPENSIVE AF. Retail price for the dyson - Supersonic Hair Dryer is about $400. And during this pandemic with the highest unemployment in American history, spending $400 on a hair dryer may seem excessive. (And you’d be right to think that, especially if you’re trying to make ends meet!) I actually got mine refurbished from the manufacturer for about $250. So I feel a little less guilty about the buy. And I did try it out before at my partner’s parents house. His mom raved about it! I do think it’s worth it! My hair normally takes 15-20 minutes to dry with a hair dryer and it normally makes it too dry. The Dyson hairdryer DOESNT DO ANY OF THAT!!! 😱 It dries my hair in about 5 minutes without the accessories. I tried the diffuser today after doing a henna mask, and putting in my leave in conditioners and it really works wonders. My hair dried in about 7 minutes (a little longer with the diffuser). And there’s no heat damage. I treated myself to this because I could afford it and I already used it before. So I knew what to expect with my hair. I do recommend it for others but ONLY IF you can afford it. Please don’t feel obligated to buy it just because people tell you to, especially if you’re struggling! Some Hair Accessories I LOVE Wearing to Be Extra
Some Hair Accessories I LOVE Wearing to Be Extra
So yall have probably already seen these hair clips all around social media already, but they’re still things I like to wear whenever I feel like I wanna spice things up! My newest addition is the pearl barrette from Shein and it was only a buck or so! I’ve been obsessed with pearls recently and I think it works so well to match with other pearl accessories heehe I will say though since the clips are so cheap, my hair often gets stuck and I’ll have to pull it out. Plus, tbh the clips aren’t the best for actually clipping my hair back. This hair accessory is truly just something to add on to your hair as decoration and not that great for actual use. Another hair accessory I love wearing is colored barrettes. They’ve been around since I was kid, but they’re definitely making a very strong comeback still! I usually only stick to using one color and match it with the outfit I’m wearing. But I think another great way of using them is to create an ombre or rainbow colorway! It came out so much prettier than I expected and really adds that “extra” in your outfit! You can pretty much buy these anywhere too and they’re really affordable! I don’t remember exactly where I got mine from but I think it was from Amazon! #CheriePartner
