Unexpected results... not complaining!
I bought the HERBIVORE - Sea Mist Coconut + Sea Salt Beach Wave Hair Mist because my hair is thin and limp and wanted to add some texture and volume and maybe get some beachy waves. This spray did none of those things for me...then why do I love this product?!? Because it works amazingly as a hair detangler for after I come out of the shower and need to comb through all the knots! The hair detanglers I have used in the past have been leave-in conditioner sprays which have worked but leave my hair looking greasy (I have thin hair and don’t need conditioner)! This product doesn’t weigh down my hair at all and has a beautiful very light coconut smell. A bonus is that it comes in a huge glass bottle which will surely last me many months (and I use it everyday). If you’re looking for a spray that gives you some waves/ curls, I would recommend OUAI - Wave Spray instead. It works well to give me that beachy texture! The cons are that it leaves a slight crunchy feel to the hair and the bottles aren’t huge for the price point and doesn’t last long.

Effortless Beachy Waves. No Heat, No Hassle
I get a lot of questions from people about my hair and how I always look like I just came from the beach and while 99% of it is genes and having wavy hair. This is hair routine. Hope you enjoy!! 🌊 Before getting in the shower I use my Wet brush - Original Detangler to get all the tangles 🌊In the shower I use Lustea Color Brightening purple shampoo to keep my blonde hair bright. Following up with the Lustea Hemp Oil Complex which is a nourishing condition. *** I just go to TJ Max or Marshall’s when I need shampoo and conditioner and use what I find :)*** 🌊 Once I am done in the shower I twist my hair into a low bun to get all the excess water then put it into the classic towel we all know and love. I leave my hair up in the towel for 5-10 minutes 🌊 MIXED CHICKS - Leave-In Conditioner if you have wavy hair you need this product!!!! I use a quarter-sized amount of product and scrunch it up into my hair. Never pulling my hair straight or I’ll pull out the waves. I repeat this step with MACADAMIA - Nourishing Repair Oil Treatment 🌊 I always in the evening so next I will leave my hair down to air dry. Then once my hair is 50% dry I braid it into a simple braid just make sure it’s not too tight and the ponytail isn’t too tight either 🌊 Sleep in my makeshift braid and in the morning I spray OUAI - Wave Spray Repeat this whole process every 3-4 days. But in between all I do is use my hair oil at night and sleep in my loose braid -hil

Frizzy Hair Fix Pt. 2
I purchased this after much time spent watching curly hair youtubers just dying over how good this product was, naturally I had to try it for myself. Just a heads up: I have wavy hair so I’m definitely not the ideal person to be using this product; however, I figured this could aid with frizz and it sure did! It definitely does make my waves feel different after I use it, but it cuts down on frizz SO MUCH!! I experience little to no frizz after using and sleeping on it. 🕊Makes hair soft 🕊Little goes a long way 🕊Cuts down on frizz 🕊Silicone free! I’d definitely recommend to anyone in need of a cure for frizz. I believe if you have curly/kinky hair this will help define your curls too considering that’s its main purpose.

LOC Method - Lets replenish that moisture girl.
The LOC method is : L-Liquid or Leave in O-oil C-cream. I recommend this method when you’re hair is dry & needs a pick me up & definitely after wash day. This method allows for your hair to retain its moisture, stop breakage, & gives your curls amazing definition. -**SN: I have high porosity, 4B/4C, dyed hair** Products (L👉🏽R Liquid/Leavin in: 👩🏽‍🦱Just plain water in a spray bottle. Your hair should be wet when applying these products for maximum absorption. I got this spray bottle for $2 at my local beauty supply store. 👩🏾‍🦱made beautiful - Nourishing Leave In Conditioner I absolutely love this leave in. It’s has shea butter, coconut, mango & honey. It’s also sulfate & paraben free! It’s not heavy as other leave-ins which I highly appreciate and it’s smells wonderful. I got this on sale at Sally’s Beauty ($1.50) but you can also find at Target ($9.99) Oil: 👩🏿‍🦱Olive oil. This was just from the grocery store. I buy this and it last me about 2-3 months. I apply this to my hair shaft mostly for shine & moisture. It’s helps with frizz, damage, & penetrates the hair shaft. This can be used on ALL hair types. When looking for Olive Oil it’s must be extra virgin olive oil (Pompeian =favorite brand)... just look for the red stamp. Walmart ($4) 👩🏻‍🦱Coconut oil. This is a sense does the same thing that olive oil does. I Do NOT use these together. I choose between if it’s a wash day (olive oil) or if my hair is just dry (coconut oil). Walmart ($4) 👩🏽‍🦱FRO BUTTER - With Emu Oil - Hair Growth Butter This is my hair crack. I apply this to my scalp. It’s smells so good & it’s lightweight (mostly like a grease). It’s has shea butter, coconut oil, & vegetable glycerin (pulls moisture from the air to hair). It also has emu oil, which is an Australian native bird. It has antimicrobial effects, and penetrates the hair follicle. I got mines from amazon ($18) but I think now the website is $20 Cream: 👩🏾‍🦱SheaMoisture - Red Palm Oil & Cocoa Butter Curl Stretch Pudding I rotate between this & SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie these products are amazing and help to seal in any product I’ve added to my hair . *Curl product Curls - So So Def Vitamin C Curl Defining Jelly this stuff smells soooo good I only use this during style day but I had to include this in this post. It literally makes my hair smell like pineapples🍍

My OUAI!
Instagram made me buy it! Ouai (pronounced as way), means yes, in a casual Parisian way. This brand is everywhere and promoted by our favorite beauty gurus, celebrities and the most influential family, the Kardashians. I love its modern and minimalist packaging. It really stands out when you enter Sephora. It is also a cruelty free brand yay! For me, it’s really important to use products that are safe and free from any harmful chemicals. Another reason why I love Ouai as their products are formulated without parabens and sulfates. OUAI - Texturizing Hair Spray This is a hair spray and a dry shampoo in one. I use this after curling my hair to add more volume. The holding power is not that strong but it works well to tame my baby hair when I do a high tie ponytail. The most effective way is to flip your hair upside down, spray and scrunch using just your fingers. It doesn’t leave a heavy residue but it makes my hair oily the day after I used it. Other than I love this product and it smells amazing! OUAI - Wave Spray I grew up in the tropics and one of my essentials when going to the beach is a good wave spray. I bought this in mini and used in during my travel to Bali. Nothing special about this but it does the job of creating beachy waves and enhances the hair texture. OUAI - Rose Hair & Body Oil I actually prefer to use it on my skin. It is light and fast absorbing. I would always bring this with me to the beach and combine it with my tanning lotion and it works perfectly everytime. The scent is not overpowering, dispenses easily & a little goes a long way. #cheriepartner@cherie

Maybe you’re doing it wrong!
Having thick hair can seem so luxurious on a good hair day, but come a bad one, I almost feel ready to chop it all off! Not that I would, I enjoy my long hair too much for it. My hair is especially challenging because not only is it thick and long, but my hair is also course. This means that doing anything at all to my hair requires a long period of time, and a good amount of upper body strength! Because of this, I used to hate straightening or curling my hair, and most of the time I just hoped for the best. It used to take me ages to straighten my hair for an event, only for it to get frizzy and unmanageable within a matter of an hour. But I soon figured out how to tame this mane of hair! It is my fixed routine that doesn’t fail me at all! I generally start off the straightening process by applying a good amount of the L'ORÉAL PROFESSIONNEL - L'Oréal Spray before using my straightener. I bought the 5.7 oz fl (170 ml) spray for only $4! Once I have that applied throughout my hair, I get started on the straightening. For thick and long hair, sectioning is SO important! I typically start out by sectioning layers and beginning with the lowest one. I then work my way upwards towards my crown. Another huge addition to this routine is the use of a good paddle brush. Now, people may generally use a wide-toothed comb during the straightening process, but I stand by the paddle brush. Because my hair is thick and course, it also gets tangled easily, so I strongly prefer the detangling paddle brush over a comb to get the job done. I use this brush to figure out which part of the section will be getting straightened and essentially, the brush is leading the straightener. This method, I find, is SO helpful in getting every strand of hair straightened. Before, I used to have sections of wavy hair and other sections of straightened hair, but with this method, EVERYTHING gets beautifully smooth and straight. Once I am satisfied with the result, I set everything down with the OUAI - Texturizing Hair Spray that I got for just $12 (!!!), and this makes my straight hair last the entire day!

My go-to hair protector!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️
This hair primer oil has really helped my damaged and dry hair. I don’t do much to my hair, but had a really bad bleach experience (by a professional) in January 2018 that left my hair torched and this primer is really helped it hang on! My hair was FRIED! I had a bad chemical reaction where my hair started to smoke once the bleach was applied and left it all gummy. It was pretty much dead hair being held on by a healthy root. The spray is super light weight and has argan and sunflower seed oil to protect and nourish. My hair is thick, wavy, color bleached and frizzy. This primer really helps tame my hair without weighing it down! I apply to my hair when using heat tools or when going outside and know it’s going to be an extra hot day. The spray protects against UV Rays too! You can use this on all hair types - wet or dry. I use when wet and notice a huge difference with my hair being less frizzy and much softer. If your hair is dry, this will help it due to the oils. After buying, I see why this call this a magic primer because that’s exactly what it is! I bought mine at Ulta for only $8. It’s affordable and lasts a long time. 🙂 #cheriepartner eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer

Sleek+Straight; Best Styles for Oval Face Shape
My face shape has always been a cross between oval & round; I have found that one of the most flattering styles for my shape is sleek and straight. Here’s the steps I take to achieve shiny, sleek, healthy looking hair that frames my face and helps to slim down the roundness👇🏻 My hair is naturally straight and is fine in texture. While my natural colour is blonde, it is also colour-treated (bleached) throughout. 1️⃣ I started with day-old, air-dried hair; first I sprayed in the eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer to protect my strands from the heat of my flat iron and prime it for styling. This spray is a very fine mist and works great to prep the hair for heat styling (my only con is that it’s very strongly perfume scented). 2️⃣ Next I ran my eva·nyc - Spectrum Far-Infrared Styling Iron through my hair, concentrating on the hair around my face to make sure it was evenly sleek and not frizzy. Personally, I only flat iron my hair from just above my ears down because I find if I flat iron the roots it leaves my hair too flat and without any volume. 3️⃣ Last, I misted on some of my KEVIN.MURPHY - Shimmer Me Blonde which is a shine-enhancing spray made for blondes, with violet-hued reflects to tone out brassiness (they have one for brunettes/redheads too!). I love this stuff, it feels nourishing but light and makes my hair shiny without being greasy. Honestly, it’s a super simple look but I always feel a little bit glam when I go for sleek + straight locks - it feels so timeless. Hope you enjoyed!!💁🏼‍♀️🤍

Keratin in a bottle 💎
💎 The IGK - Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Anti-Frizz Smoothing Spray is an excellent product for thick hair that is prone to frizz in humidity. Living in nyc, the summers are known to feel like stepping out into a fishbowl. The air feels damp with humidity. 💎 I received this in a previous months boxy charm and immediately put it to use, especially after the stay at home order was implemented and hair salons were closed (my keratin touch up would have to wait) 💎 Now, this is a temporary solution. I’m able to get about two days worth of frizz free hair after using this product. After washing my hair, I dry my hair with a microfiber towel or old T-shirt and then spray this liberally all over my hair. The product is sealed in with heat, and also acts as a heat protectant when blow drying. 💎 Do not apply this product to wet hair and then flat iron your hair. Either air dry or blow dry your hair, then use this product and flat iron your hair. #CheriePartner

IGK; Mini brand review
I did a little mini brand review on The Ordinary and I kind of wanted to start making it a series of brands I’ve tried a lot of. My favorite hair care brand hands down, aesthetically and performance wise, is IGK. This is really just a quick review of all the products. If you have in depth questions please ask 🖤 IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo - Hands down favorite product by the brand. Completely worth the $27. I can have week old, greasy hair and this turns it into “just washed” looking. I’ve had customers shocked that my hair wasn’t just washed when I use this. But it is a heavy duty dry shampoo. You can definitely feel it in your hair if you run your fingers in but it leaves no white caste once you work it into the hair. IGK - Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Anti-Frizz Smoothing Spray - I don’t heat style my hair without this. It acts as a best protectant, anti-frizz serum, and a smoothing treatment. It smells amazing and leaves my hair so soft and sleek after heat styling. IGK - Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm - it does contain coconut oil so I only use this near my ends. It has a gel balm consistency that doesn’t weigh your hair down or make it feel greasy. If you have dry ends I highly recommend. It adds a lot of hydration back in! IGK - Beach Club Volume Texture Spray - Yes! If you have a hard time getting texture to your hair this product will work great for you. Sometimes I’ll spray some at the roots if I need a little bit of volume or directly into my curls to scrunch them up a little bit. It smells amazing!! Like a beachy dream. It’s not sticky for me but you can definitely go overboard so be aware. IGK - Trust Issues Instant Scalp Rebalancing Treatment - I got this on sale because I suffer from eczema and I can have itchy scalp every once and a while and this really did nothing. I liked the cooling sensation on the scalp but it did nothing to relieve the itch like it claimed. Not worth the sale price none the less $28. IGK - Crybaby Anti-Frizz Smoothing Serum - I got this because DupeThat recommend those and I find myself never using it. It’s just your run of the mill hair serum. I have wavy, thick, and frizzy hair and it did nothing for my frizz. It was just an extra product I added to my routine I didn’t need. The bottle is cute though.. IGK - Laid Back Defrizz and Anti-Static Spray - Also did nothing for my frizz.. I got it at Marshall’s so I’m not mad but they have better products #IGK - Sold Out[products]#[FourStars] - I love using this when I know I’m going to want to wear my natural wavy curls the next day. I spray it on my hair when it’s wet, scrunch it up, and I notice in the morning they are a lot more defined. I don’t think they sell it anymore but if you can find it for a good price and you have natural curls I think it’s worth checking out.

Three must-haves from Target
Cherie post 1: Three favorites from Target: Not your Mothers, All eyes on me, 10 in 1 hair perfector. NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - All Eyes On Me 10-in-1 Hair Perfector OMG. I love this stuff! If you have dry, damaged, and easily tangled hair like me this is going to be your new haircare BFF. I have naturally thick, coarse long hair that also gets super oily after 2 days on no wash. I apply this into the middle and end strands to wet hair and boom! It tame smy frizz, detangles, softens without oily sticky feeling, smells AMAZING and is also a heat protectant! I also use it to re moisturize my hair on my non-wash days. Megababe thigh rescue megababe - Thigh Rescue This is an anti-friction stick for your thighs. When I say this is the best product invented, i'm not over-exaggerating! If you get thigh chafe in the summer, the moment you try this you’re gonna be like “why on earth did I wait this long to try this?! The years of my thick-thigh life would've been so much better if this was in my life!” It's definitely a summer must-have. I like to keep it in my purse, for easy re-application :) Nature Republic Aloe Vera Foam CleanserNATURE REPUBLIC - Foam Smoothing Facial Cleanser I always come back to this cleanser, it’s my favorite drugstore cleanser. It foams and applies really nicely, it is super clarifying but non-drying! It has a budget friendly price tag too, $7.99 at Target! I have sensitive skin and it doesn’t irritate or make my skin red :)

Dry Bar- Worth the hype? Pt. 1
Short answer- Based on these two products I would say that Dry Bar is not worth the hype. Long answer- I got the Prep Rally heat protectant in a fabfitfun box at some point in last year. At the time, I would not have bought it as I was not into using heat on my hair. But since coloring my hair and getting a haircut for the first time in 7 months, I purchased a new curling iron and flat iron and have started using heat to style my hair. Hence the need for heat protectant. drybar - Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler Pros: It gets the job done, my hair doesn’t feel fried after straightening it It smells pretty good It’s heat protectant and a detangler in one bottle Definitely enough product to last a long time Cons: It’s pretty expensive for a pretty ok product I think this product weighs my hair down and doesn’t allow it to be styled in a very natural way Terrible for hair straightening, ok for curling, fine for blow drying Summary: I am going to continue using this product because it’s the only heat protectant I have, but will not be buying another bottle.

I grew my hair long and strong
I was always a heat styling person, I never embraced my natural curly hair and I always used to flat iron them my whole life. Until back in November I stopped using heat styling tools, especially flat iron and my hair is this long now!! My hair always grow fast, and genetically I know my hair can grow knee length. My mom had very long, luscious hair in her teenage and I got that inherited in me. Blessed! 😊 But seriously, what can help hair grow longer and healthier?? I believe the following tips and products can help: 1. Eliminate heat styling as much as you can. This is the first step in finally focusing and be able to invest your time and money in reversing the damage. 2. If you have curly/wavy textured, coarsed hair... start embracing it. It's okay to not have flat managed hair all the time. You can always use some nourishing oil like Moroccan oil to tame the frizz. 3. Incorporate Fatty acids,Omega and Vitamin E in your food. Fish is a great option but if you're vegan/vegetarian, Greens, whole grains and fruits are great option. 4. Maintain your hormonal levels with diet and light exercise. I'm not pointing out towards not eating junk (which I adore myself) and not exercising daily. Just a little for you to feel good is enough😊✨ 5. Use nourishing hair oils and masks to pamper your hair weekly. 6. Last but not the least, use gentle products that will help you with your desired hair texture and finish. I'm listing down the products I've neen enjoying and they're really helping me maintain my waves and curls so that I don't feel the need to heat style my hair often 👍 Also these products are my Holy grails now, they're very affordable and work amazing for curly and wavy hair types💖✨ @cantubeauty Shea butter Shampoo and Conditioner cantu - Shea Butter for Natural Hair Sulfate-Free Hydrating Cream Conditioner cantu - Shea Butter for Natural Hair Sulfate-Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo @cantubeauty Define and shine custard cantu - Shea Butter for Natural Hair Define & Shine Custard @pacificabeauty Pineapple Curls shampoo PACIfICA - Pineapple Curls Curl Defining Shampoo @igkhair Mistress hydrating hair balm IGK - Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm @thedrybar Prep rally detangler drybar - Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler @aveda Damage remedy daily hair repair AVEDA - Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair AG hair care Fast food moisture leave on conditioner AG hair - Moisture Fast Food Leave-On Conditioner

Date Night top bun!
My hair is bone straight & extremely fine! First of all, this is probably one of the most simple hair looks you can ever create. It is easy to do, can be dressed up or down! I like to have a little volume in my hair before creating the bun since my hair is so fine and I don’t have all that much to work with. I just use my tried & true IGK - Beach Club Volume Texture Spray to add a little volume. Some dry shampoo works as well! In the photos is the step by step. High pony, twist, wrap, secure. Add some bold earrings and a bold lip to make the look super chic 🍷😘

MAKE THIN SPOTS LOOK THICKER WITH THIS!
The hair that grows on my temples is very thin. It Can very embarrassing and it is hard to hide because it is in the front of my head. I’ve tried a ton of different products to help make my hair look fuller in those areas but nothing has really worked. I was was watching a hair tutorial by “Crowned K” on YouTube and I saw her use this product ... She, like I, has thin spots near her hairline and used this product to give the appearance of density in those areas. I purchased this product and I’ve been using it for a week now. Here are my thoughts: Style Factor makes a number of products for curly and coily hair type with castor oil. They claim to add hold and shine to your hair. The one that I’ve been using Edgebooster Hideout is intended to hide grey hairs. They have a Black and a Brown shade. This product helps to make my hair look thicker and is good for a light hold. This isn’t good for slicking down my super coily hair. This product is not meant for bald spots. There has to be some hair in the place you are applying it for the product coat your hair and give a thicker appearance. It doesn’t work great with other gel edge control type products so if you use it you won’t be able to have any hold except the minimal hold it gives. If you use a gel that isn’t oil based it may work better with this product. The product also adds shine to my hair . Verdict: if you have coily 4C hair like mine use this to make thin spots look thicker not as a hair gel or edge control. #CheriePartner

Blow-Drying At Home: High Volume + Low Frizz
My thick yet fine hair naturally straddles the 2A/2B line, depending on a variety of factors: humidity level, days since last shampoo, products used, etc. But I love using the *amika: - Hair Blow Dryer Brush to add volume and tame my waves without straightening them, eliminating frizz and adding shine. I typically only heat-style on special occasions or when extending time between washes- here’s my no-wash day polished routine! 1. Separate: I separate my hair into three sections with a wide-tooth comb: crown, middle, nape. Crown is pulled into a small ponytail, then middle joins it using a clip. 2. Protect: Apply *amika: - Blockade Heat Protectant Serum liberally to the current layer- I run my fingers through the layer to help it soak in. 3. Prep: Spritz roots with amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray xxxx 4. Style: Starting at the roots, I gently and slowly slide the brush, moving down that section of hair vertically. Repeat throughout the current layer until hair is to desired dryness. 5. Re-Section: I’m kind of Type A about things so I tie up the current layer of separated hair before letting down the next layer. It also helps keep from over-drying my hair and causing frizz! Repeat Steps 4-5 Until Hair Is Dry 6. Extra Moisture: Before my hair fully cools, I rub another pump of *amika: - Blockade Heat Protectant Serum between the tips of my fingers and focus on moisturizing/protecting the ends of my hair. I’ve noticed this helps my hair look more polished and extend the life of the hairstyle as far as frizz is concerned! 7. Smooth: Once my hair has cooled and the serum has soaked in, I finish everything off with a few sprays of *amika: - Silken Up Dry Conditioner and a thorough fluffing with my hands! I love how shiny and soft my hair is, perfectly smooth despite the serious volume and movement offered by the styler 💕 * PR Sample #CheriePartner

caring for straight(ish) hair
Today I want to talk about how I’ve learned to care for my hair, which isn’t stick straight but usually isn’t *super* wavy either. It can also get pretty oily in the summer; I have oily skin on my face, and the two typically go together. First, I tend to wash my hair every day. I know some people are very against this, but it’s what works for me! Since my hair is pretty straight and thin, it tends to get weighed down with product and I hate the feeling of sleeping on it. So I wash it every night. When my hair is wet, I comb out any tangles with a wide-toothed comb. I’ve found this results in way less breakage than if I comb or brush my hair when it’s dry. I use a wooden comb that was a gift, so I’m unsure of what brand it is, but there are lots of great wide-toothed combs out there. I rarely blow dry my hair. I used to blow dry it every day in high school so it would be stick straight, but thankfully that’s not the look anymore 🙃 It’s straight enough without subjecting it to unnecessary heat every day, and heat also makes hair brittle and more prone to breakage unless you use proper heat protectant products. If I do blow dry my hair, I use amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray to protect from heat and add extra volume and shine. I’ve reviewed this before, but just to recap: I love it! A little goes a long way to add just the right amount of volume to my hair. I’ll be honest: I haven’t been styling my hair much at all since I’ve been working from home since March 😬 Most days it’s just a scrunchie ponytail for me. I’ll occasionally add some Batiste - Batiste Dry Shampoo or SACHAJUAN - Dark Volume Powder to add some volume to my roots—both of these are great for making my roots look lifted, and I’m recommend them to anyone with straight hair in need of a little volume and texture.

BEST HAIR STYLING PRODUCTS: MOROCCANOIL CRUL DEFINING CREAM
BEST HAIR STYLING PRODUCTS: MOROCCANOIL CRUL DEFINING CREAM
I have very typical soft hair. In the past, I could maintain my hair for a short time after styling. Particularly for curly/wavy hair. Generally speaking, it may take others a year to straighten, but my hair is so soft that it will straighten in a few months. This makes me very distressed. What if it makes curls last? Let our style look good forever, which is the effect we have been pursuing. MOROCCANOIL - Curl Defining Cream $14 This is a product in a small package. It is a gift that I give after purchasing other products. But I found it to be surprisingly useful. Moroccanoil Curl Defining Cream separates, defines, and conditions to bring out the best in naturally curly hair. In addition to increasing bounce and movement, the nourishing argan oil-infused formula combats frizz and imparts shine for curls that look and feel silky smooth. Through soft, touchable grip, it provides lasting curling effect. One of the most popular products in the Moroccanoil Curl Collection, this all-in-one solution replaces the need for excessive curl products. Fragranced with the signature Moroccanoil scent, an exotic blend of spicy amber aromas and sweet floral notes. After washing and drying your hair, wet your hair with one or two pumps. Evenly distributed. This can separate and define curly hair while nourishing it. The texture of the product is white emulsion, with good smell and rich fruit flavor. At the same time, these smells are so durable that you can even use them instead of perfumes. Not too much, just a little, massage with the palm of your hand, and spread it to your hair. If you want to pursue a fluffy effect, you can blow your hair after using it. After using this small package, I will definitely buy it again.

Kristin Ess Target hair care line 😍
Kristin Ess Target hair care line 😍
This is by no means my full Kristin Ess collection but these are a few that I’m going to run through today for you all! I’ve been a big fan of Kristin Ess since her days writing hair articles for The Beauty Deparment website so when I saw her line come out at target, clearly I was all for it! I think she has something for just about everyone within her giant collection at Target! KRISTIN ESS - Cleansing Co-Wash So I have some weird frizzy yet flat, coarse but thin hair so I find everything simultaneously too heavy and not hydrating enough for my hair. This co-wash has been a game changer for me. It feels like a conditioner and doesn’t lather but when I focus it on my roots and section my hair like the bottle mentions, my hair feels so clean but so soft after using it! It doesn’t feel greasy at all! I usually normal wash my hair, no wash the next day, and then day 3 I will use this in lieu of normal shampoo/conditioner, then no wash, then back to shampoo again. I’ve found this combo to be the sweet spot for me in terms of not over washing my hair. This product doesn’t really have the capability to strip oils so I barely count it as a heavy wash day, but it does make my hair look fab! Curly girls or people with thick hair would probably LOVE this! KRISTIN ESS - Instant Lift Thickening Spray I had high hopes for this one and it didn’t quite live up but I still enjoy it. First of all, I didn’t read this directions. I thought this was a product for dry hair to add lift to the root. Instead it is for semi-wet hair when blow drying (which I almost never do). It smells a bit of alcohol which isn’t awful but also not great. Luckily it doesn’t last. When I do use it correctly, there is some lift in my root and some texture which is nice. KRISTIN ESS - Weightless Shine Air Dry Crème This is another one I wish I loved more. I don’t notice it do all that much other than give my hair a little bit of shine. I haven’t noticed much with frizz reduction which is really what I was hoping for. It didn’t help my hair dry faster or better but either. I still use it while it’s drying to add a bit of shine but I probably wouldn’t repurchase this one. KRISTIN ESS - Fragrance Free Texturizing Paste I love this product! The texturizing paste is in the fragrance free line which is always nice for those sensitive to smell or who just prefer not to use fragrance. It’s a moderately thin paste compared to some so it spreads in your hands easily for even application to your hair. I usually tousle my ends with it for a piecey look since my hair is naturally wavy, and then take whatever is left on my hands and scrunch it into my root area for some volume and definition up there too. It doesn’t leave any crunchy areas, or make my hair look slick. It just adds some nice texture and that’s really it.

I’m Gonna Say it: Holy Grail Hair Care! ✨
I’m Gonna Say it: Holy Grail Hair Care! ✨
So about a month ago I made a post with a bunch of minis I brought home, and two of them were these two products, and I feel confident to give reviews on these now! A quick background in my hair: My hair is naturally extremely thin and I have 2c/3a curls (a blend of wavy and ringlets) as well as being high porosity (they dry sooo fast like literally one pat with a towel). I’ve been dying my hair for a long time, and because of that, for the last several years I’ve suffered breakage, split and brittle ends, and a lack of bounce in my natural curl. I’ve been growing my hair out for years and stalled on length because the ends just kept breaking off, and there were a lot of times where I would break down in tears because I just wanted long pretty hair. I spent tons of money going through masks and leave ins and oils and nothing helped longer than 24 hours. Enter OUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner I bought the travel size of this and pictured above is the full size (I only used the travel size like 3 times before I was completely sold on it). After just one use, I finally felt like my hair was shiny and soft, something I hadn’t experienced in years of rotating through products. My friend actually noticed it over facetime the next day with zero prompting! I was so excited I washed my hair a day early the next time so I could use it again. Now, my hair is shinier than ever and it actually feels like my hair is stronger! No more little pieces break off when I brush it and I feel like it’s safe to finally use heat on it again (even though I don’t want to bc my curls look so good!!). I couldn’t be happier with this product, I want to buy like 4 more bottles now so I never run out even though a little goes a long way. My actual holy grail. I would give it 10 stars if I could. The OUAI - Wave Spray I got with it is also a fantastic product I bought a full size of quickly too. My biggest beef with “sea salt” sprays has always been the nasty play-doh smell and the residue that feels impossible to wash out of my hair. First and foremost I love the way this spray smells sooooo much, it’s delicious and sexy, very feminine and lovely. The other thing I love is that it uses rice starch instead of salt than can be drying and leave a sticky residue. Although this spray leaves a little texture, it’s definitely tolerable for day 3 or 4 (or 5 or 6 😬) hair and the perfect thing to bring life back to my curls.

Cheap black hair care products
Cheap black hair care products
I’m 19 and trying to become more financially independent but haircare, especially black hair care, for (mostly) 4b hair is SO expensive! Especially when you’ve been picky about your hair for so long! Does anyone know of any sulfate and silicone free products that are on the cheaper side of things? I tagged all my currently used products. P.s. sorry about the awkward crop, this was the most recent picture of my natural hair

Pretty good oil for heat protection. Nature lab Tokyo has some of the best shampoos I’ve tried so I really wanted to try this mist. On the rare occasions I straighten my hair I apply this oil most about a couple min before and make sure to massage it in. I avoid my roots. I’ve tried to straighten my hair without this mist and I can honestly say I notice a difference, this kind of prevents my hair from getting frizzy all day and it’s definitely a plus. It also smells really good. Also a little spray goes a longgggg way so try to be careful. The bottom/tips of my hair are pretty dry and kinda brittle so I like to spray some oil on it a few times a week. I’ve been doing this for about 3 weeks now and I’m so glad i started doing this, my hair is getting so much softer and has a shine. Nature Lab. - Perfect Shine Oil Mist
