What’s on my Vanity?
Happy Thursday🤎 Updated the corner of my vanity this week with some of the products I’ve been reaching for lately! Everything you see here get’s a 10/10 for me! [Mini Reviews] ☁️ Necessaire Body Lotion (Fragrance-Free): I briefly mentioned in a previous post that I’m loving this body lotion so far and I stay true to that. I am enjoying this lotion so much, I already know I will be repurchasing soon & stocking up on maybe 2-3 bottles! Some key ingredients I love in this are; - Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) - Vitamins A, C & E - Omega’s 6 and 9 - Shea Butter - Jojoba Oil - Marula Oil ☁️ Summer Friday’s CC Me Serum: The hype is real ladies & gents! I am ADDICTED to trying new Vitamin C Serums & let me tell you this is now my new favorite! The price point lowkey kills me but you know what, for someone like me who suffers from dark spots/hyperpigmentation... if my skin continues to improve the way it is now, I will 10000% repurchase! ☁️ The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: The hype is real (part 2)... At least, it is for me! I truly love this cleansing balm! I don’t wear a lot of makeup anymore so I personally find that it does a great job at removing whatever it is I put on that day! This balm is VERRRY gentle (which my acne prone skin loves) If my skin is ever irritated, I know I can depend on this to soothe my skin down! (However, if you wear heavy/full glam makeup daily, you may want to try a different cleansing balm) ☁️ Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant: My HOLY GRAIL👏🏼 I use this 2-3x a week and omg my skin has improved SO much! My skin is still not where it used to be but I know I will get there & that’s mainly because I know this exfoliant will get me there! It does a great job at minimizing blemishes /preventing new ones from forming! Love that. ☁️ Briogeo Scalp Revival: Still using this 1-2x a week since my scalp gets super itchy quite fast! As I said before in a previous post, I love this treatment a lot! I also love that this does NOT make my scalp feel oily at all. ☁️ Purito Comfy Water Sun Block SPA 50+ PA++++: I LOVE this mineral sunscreen so so much! If you are acne prone like me I HIGHLY suggest you invest in this sunscreen over the unscented centella! The unscented centella SPF broke me out like crazy (I believe that’s simply because it’s a chemical sunscreen, but I should have known better) Stick to mineral sunscreens if you tend to break out! Spot any of your favs? Nécessaire - The Body Lotion SUMMER FRIDAYS - CC Me Vitamin C Serum THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Serum DIPTYQUE - Mimosa Candle

Briogeo Scalp Revival
[First Impression of the Briogeo Scalp Revival] This treatment contains: - Charcoal - Tea Tree Oil - Peppermint Oil - Ginger Root Oil - Aloe Leaf Juice - Witch Hazel - Biotin - Sodium Hyaluronate (Not in order) Omg the smell of this product is AMAZING!🤤 I can really just sit there and smell it for hours haha. I used this for the first time last night and it was fantastic, I felt a slight tingling sensation when applying but I loved it. I tend to have a dry/itchy scalp and now that the weather here in NY is getting colder quite fast, my skin is acting up! Super excited to see what this can do for my itchy scalp! What are your thoughts on this? Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Serum

The BEST product for split ends 💕
I got this hair serum from a FabFitFun box a while ago and honestly WOW!! It’s super difficult for me to grow my hair out because somehow it gets damaged, I don’t use heat on my hair at all, no hair dryer or styling tools but I still can’t manage to grow out healthy hair. I’ve tried all the possible hair masks and leave-in conditioners but I’d never seen any visible improvement. Now I’m aware that once you get split ends there’s no way to just glue them back together and you have to 💇‍♀️ but I was looking for a product that would make them less visible and the bottom of my hair less dry and I HAVE FOUND IT!! AVEDA - Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair - I use a quarter size amount on damp hair about 1-2 times a week and my hair loves it! It feels so smooth after using this serum and my split ends are not even visible. This product really makes a difference for me and I will definitely be repurchasing!! That being said, trimming hair periodically is still recommended for maintaining healthy hair. If there are any other products that help with damaged hair or oily hair I would love to hear suggestions!

Damaged Hair / Remedy Restructuring 💥
Bleaching is one of the most aggressive chemical processes that hair can undergo, since the hydrogen peroxide used in bleaching is capable of removing pigment from the strand and modifying the hair cuticle. This weakens it, dries it out and causes it to lose its protein and natural shine. For that reason, when we undergo such an extreme process it is essential to nourish the hair. I show you my routine of products to repair my hair after bleaching: AVEDA - Damage remedy restructuring shampoo Gentle shampoo with quinoa protein helps repair and strengthen damaged hair, while naturally derived conditioners help leave it smooth and soft. This product are very concentrated, so you shouldn't need much to get the job done. I recommend using water to help spread the product and really focus on working the product into the scalp. Remember that shampoo is mostly used for the scalp, the mid-lengths and ends of hair don't need an intense washing. (I love scalp massager) Focus your application and washing on the scalp area and then bring down through the ends with water and lightly rub the hair. AVEDA - Damage Remedy Restructuring Conditioner Conditioner with quinoa protein helps repair and strengthen damaged hair, while naturally derived conditioners help provide intense detangling and leave it smooth and soft. I love it’s aroma, organic bergamot, mandarin orange, ylang ylang and other pure essences of flowers and plants leaves your hair smelling incredible. AVEDA - Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair It's ideal for all hair types, and anyone who is looking to instantly repair existing damage and protect from breakage. It can easily be added to your daily routine, or rotated in to help strengthen your hair. When you use Daily Hair Repair, work a small amount of product in hands, apply through damp hair and comb to distribute.

Oily scalp? Dandruff? You can't miss this!
I have been using this product called Christophe Robin - Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Saltor a while. It helps tremendously with my scalp psoriasis. I have oily scalp, so I wash my hair many times a week to make sure my hair doesn’t 't look too greasy. And dandruff bothers me a lot. I also tried some other brands' salt scrubs, but this stuff is amazing.   Over the past couple of months I have noticed oily lumps and scaly spots on my scalp. Have used this product twice. I thought it was normal for my scalp to be itchy and flaky after color treatment. I was so wrong. It really clears up my scalp.I am very impressed and thrilled to find something that relieves problems. I have used it so far and I do notice a great improvement. I regret not using this sooner for my scalp psoriasis because it really made it subside. Previously I would only use the traditional shampoo to wash my hair because I was concerned about chemicals getting into my open skin. But to use this product, this sea salt hair scrub leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean.I rub it around the perimeter of my scalp and let it set for a moment then rub it in and lather it up and let it sit. The salt rinses out of my hair super easily and leaves my scalp feeling exfoliated and moisturized. I use a good conditioner afterwards because the salts dry out my hair. I generally avoid sulfates, but using this once a week has actually been the perfect amount of deep sulfate cleanse for my hair to have plenty of body and stay buildup-free.   This is honestly the best scalp scrub I've ever used. I have gone through so many other scrubs and they don 't really do anything. But I think you're only suppose to use it once or twice a week. I use a nickel size amount and sometimes add a little of my other shampoo. That way it really lathers into my scalp. It can really help clean the scalp take the impurities out of hair.   I love how it smells and how it suds up, it 's helped with my dandruff. I will purchase this over any other scalp scrub in the future! It really makes my scalp clean and relaxed.Highly recommend.

This is the worst hair product I own right now
Preface: I own a LOT of hair care products. I am a thick, dry haired curly girl with medium-length hair now that has been chemically treated. I’m dealing with frizz, damage, and dryness all while trying to have a calm scalp. It’s a LOT. When I say this is the worst hair product I own, that’s not at all an exaggeration. This is the purifying scalp scrub Christophe Robin - Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt from Christophe Robin. I am pretty sure I got this in an Allure Beauty Box a looong time ago. I’m talking 2018??? Anyway. The purpose of this product is a pre-shampoo treatment to scrub into your scalp to remove built up dirt, oil, and hair product so your scalp can breathe and better produce hair growth. It smells pretty sweet, kinda salty, and it has a clumpy consistency (because it’s, you know, a salt scrub). I went into using this thinking it would be great but it’s so thick that I have a hard time using it without parting my hair 40 different ways so I can actually reach my scalp through my hair. What I wasn’t expecting was to have leftover salt chunks in my hair...that would take over 10 minutes to wash out of my hair!!! Not even to mention it lathers up SO MUCH that is basically strips all oils from your scalp, making it start to flake. This scrub is awful if you have thick hair. If you have thin hair you would probably like this, but I just cannot deal with it. I have used so many other scrub that I don’t have issues with that I just absolutely cannot deal with it. Due to the issues I experienced, as well as this mini size costing $19, I have to rate it 2/5. Would not recommend unless you have thin hair that is oily. #CheriePartner

Easy Waves, Without the Frizz!
#CheriePartner My thick yet fine hair naturally straddles the 2A/2B line, depending on a variety of factors: humidity level, days since last shampoo, products used, etc. But I love using the amika: - High Tide Deep Waver to make defined waves that have a bit of a retro feel, without the frizz from letting my hair naturally wave via air drying! I typically only heat-style on special occasions or when extending time between washes- here’s my no-wash day wave routine! 1. Separate: I separate my hair into three sections with a wide-tooth comb: crown, middle, nape. Crown is pulled into a small ponytail, then middle joins it using a clip. 2. Protect: Apply *amika: - The Wizard Detangling Primer liberally to the current layer- I run my fingers through the layer to help it soak in, letting hair dry fully. 3. Style:Starting at the roots, I take a section of hair from the current layer and clamp it between the paddles of the styler. I hold for a full 5 seconds before releasing it, moving down that section of hair vertically. Repeat throughout the current layer, moving along vertically. 4. Re-Section: I’m kind of Type A about things so I tie up the current layer of separated hair before letting down the next layer. Repeat Steps 2-4 Until All Hair Has Been Waved 5. Focused Protection: Before my hair fully cools, I rub a pump of *amika: - Blockade Heat Protectant Serum between the tips of my fingers and focus on moisturizing/protecting the ends of my hair. I’ve noticed this helps my hair look more polished and extend the life of the hairstyle as far as frizz is concerned! 6. Smooth: Once my hair has cooled and the serum has soaked in, I finish everything off with a few sprays of amika: - Silken Up Dry Conditioner and a thorough fluffing with my hands! I love how shiny and soft my hair still is once it’s been waved, after utilizing so many protective products 💕 * PR Sample

😳Why box dye is TERRIBLE for your hair
As some of you may know by now, I am a licensed cosmetologist. I see TONS of clients everyday and a large amount of my new clients are color corrections. What’s a color correction? Wells color correction is usually a pricey service that a hairstylist does once your hair is compromised from box dye...or maybe you gave yourself a hOMBRÈ. Yeah I called you out😂 This service is so pricey because it can take HOURS to fix this situation. This haircolor, took FIVE hours. She had three layers of red box dye in her hair and about two inches of regrowth that was lighter than the red. Trust me I wanted to cry when I saw it. This is every hairstylists worst nightmare. A client wanting to be blonde but their red. Lol not gonna happen. As you can see, there’s still some red, that’s where she really overlapped her box dyes. Box dyes are progressive dyes that really buildup on the hair. They have metallic salts that can build up and reeeaally dry out the hair....not fun. If I do a color correction over boxed hair I will seriously FORCE clients to get Olaplex added to the color and lightener. It’s soo damaged just in general and it’ll be worse after a huge chemical service like this one! Use these to prevent any further damage OLAPLEX - No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo OLAPLEX - No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner amika: - The Wizard Detangling Primer OLAPLEX - No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme KEVIN.MURPHY - Smooth.Again

Samples 🕸trial size👻
KÉRASTASE - Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Shampoo KÉRASTASE - Blond Absolu Strengthening Conditioner I was pleasantly surprised to see all my samples were actually enough for one time use! I was prepared to use both samples of each since my hair is medium length and very thick But glad I can get good used to see if I can actually see results Lately I’ve been washing me hair 3-4 times a week just depending on activities done outdoors and such So being able to use these for two full washes? I’m glad ! Hope to see some results Also just threw in a scalp treatment sample DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub Which had a weird scent and was kind of cream like texture at first but turned into small beads once scrubbed in But honestly wouldn’t purchase based off the sample I received ,not exfoliating enough

💘I wanted to like this product so so bad! Especially because this brand is so highly talked about. But this is a no from me, and I am actually going to return it :( 💘I love the little nozzle on it, that makes application a bit easier. However, this stuff is difficult to use. It doesn’t spread with ease once it’s on your scalp. And it doesn’t wash out very well. I had white little specks in my hair (as seen on the bottle on the second photo) from the scrub. I rinsed my hair for a good long time while combing through and it didn’t want to come out. 💘If you have thick thick hair, do not buy this, if you have thinner hair maybe but this did not work out for me at all :( I will use the product one more time and do a follow up if my feelings change about it. But as of right now this is how I feel :( Update (product tried again on September 30th) I used it again today and I’m still just as disappointed with it. Little white things everywhere!!! I’ve come to my final conclusion with this product. I don’t like it, and will for sure be returning it :( I’m sorry Drunk Elephant. BUT, I won’t give up on the brand, I want to try other things from them, do any of you have any suggestions? 🧡

Build up saver! 🧖🏽‍♀️
This is not a necessary item but it has changed my shower game! As mentioned before I only wash my hair once a week so through out the week I’m essentially just refreshing my curls by adding more product to it. So a couple of months ago I really started to struggle with build up on my scalp. So one day while scrolling through the Sephora app looking at things I don’t need I came across the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager After about 3 uses I started to see a difference on my scalp and the build up. I don’t know how I lived without it before.

$10 Drugstore Shampoo/Conditioner Saviour!
Salicylic acid in a drugstore shampoo? live clean - Professional Healthy Scalp Balancing Shampoo and live clean - Healthy Scalp Balancing Conditioner are new to the shelves in my province in Canada. I have seborrheic dermatitis and have tried pretty much everything to clear up my flaky, itchy, dry, sometimes painful scalp. From steroid creams to dandruff shampoo to tar, I’ve used it all. I had to stop getting my hair bleached and coloured because my scalp would crack and pus would dry onto it (sorry if this is TMI). This year, I have a patch on my neck just at the base of my hairline (see second picture). I was using WELLA PROFESSIONALS - Invigo Balance Senso Calm Sensitive Shampoo and my scalp flakes were nonexistent for the most part, but it didn’t clear up this patch, which is very visible when I wear my hair up. I used it with Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager and found this thing is a miracle worker for really working product into the scalp. After using this app, I discovered salicylic acid was good for most of my issues besides just my scalp and I have been searching for it ever since. It’s supposed to help seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis and when I found this shampoo set I snatched it up! After about two weeks of use (I don’t wash my hair everyday), I can feel the products working to exfoliate my scalp. There’s still a small scaly patch on my neck, but I’m expecting great things and it is a lot less red and irritated. I’ve been finishing my nightly routine with CeraVe - Renewing SA Lotion on the patch on my neck (as well as pretty much everywhere on my body as it’s good for so many reasons!

💕 amika: - Reset Charcoal Detoxifying Scalp Cleansing Oil Reset Charcoal Detoxifying Scalp Cleansing Oil- Love this product for a weekly double cleanse to get rid of build up in the scalp. It has Pink Clay and charcoal to help purify and has sea buckthorn to help replenish the scalp. 💕 amika: - Reset Exfoliating Jelly Shampoo Reset Exfoliating Jelly Scalp Scrub- Is a great exfoliator!! It has ingredients such as sea salt, pink clay and charcoal to exfoliate and purify the scalp. The sea salt feels nice on the scalp as it doesn’t scratch and irritate it. Helps with flaky scalp and works great with the oil cleanser to help get a deep cleanse. 💕 After using both products together, my scalp feels so refreshed and regenerated!

For when your scalp needs some TLC 💞
Recently I had been struggling with an itchy scalp after getting sunburned at the beach, and I’ve been on a mission to improve the overall health of my hair. I was about to drop $30 on amika: - Reset Charcoal Detoxifying Scalp Cleansing Oil when I saw this product at Target. At only $6, I figured this was worth a shot. It comes in a squirt bottle, but (at least for me) I could not figure out how to open the squirt portion so I just unscrew it and pour a little on my scalp. The consistency is very runny and watery, which I found pleasant because I do not like the feeling of product on my scalp. There was no residue from this product at all! This product definitely soothed my scalp! I loved the texture and the feeling that I was doing a little something extra for my hair. After using it just once it was no longer itchy and irritated. I will definitely keep this around for a once-a-week treatment, and definitely recommend it as a cost effective option! #CheriePartner

Done and New hair serums
I finally pan my Kaminomoto hair serum. Used it every other night. I love the cool sensation and herbal scent. Very watery and doesn’t leave my hair greasy. Maybe bcos this is my first bottle, the result is not visible yet. I would repurchase it if I don’t have the urge to try Ordinary hair serum. KAMINOMOTO - Super Strength Hair Serum (Gold)

The Ordinary? More like extraordinary!!
With The Ordinary growing increasingly popular by the day, I thought I’d review some of my The Ordinary products! There’s so many reviews out there already, so I’m going to simplify mine and keep them really short and simple! (From left to right) Salicylic Acid 2% Masque: Got it to clear up some blackheads on my nose, but ended feeling really grainy and I didn’t see results. Didn’t like. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: Really sticky initially, but after a minute or so, it sinks into your skin. Can be tacky upon initial application. Like!! Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density: Almost like water. I apply it at my hairline before bed. I haven’t seen any dramatic results, but I’ve noticed more baby hair. But, not sure if it’s the serum or my new shampoo. Feel meh about this. Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: My second bottle! Love it. Not sticky at all, but definitely a little thicker than Glossier’s Super Pure. Can really see the effects. LOVE! 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil: Really oily by itself. Perfect when you drop it into your moisturizer. I use less moisturizer and my skin feels so much better! Like! The Ordinary Coverage Foundation: A really good foundation! Dewy finish, but it’s a little runny/liquidy. Great coverage as well and the price is really great. Like! Let me know if any of you guys have tried these products as well! I’d love to hear what you think and your experience.

OUAI SCALP AND BODY SCRUB
OUAI SCALP AND BODY SCRUB
I recieved a mini of this in an Allure box, and I was thrilled because I’ve heard GREAT things about this. The only other scalp scrub I have tried is the Briogeo charcoal one, and I hated how it completely changed the texture of my hair after I used it. (If you are curious, I used both the charcoal scrub and the conditioner, and both made my hair so sticky and dry...maybe it’s a curly hair issue.😕) This scrub contains coconut oil, sugar crystals, and probiotics to exfoliate the scalp while balancing your skin’s natural oils to avoid drying it out. It definitely gets rid of grime and buildup on my scalp, and I LOVE that it still leaves my hair soft and silky! I have a particularly dry patch right on the crown of my head, and I notice a big difference when I focus this on that area. • OUAI - Scalp & Body Scrub

My hair care routine
My hair care routine
Hey guys welcome to my hair routine for my pinky pink hair!!! This is me looking good with my pink hair at its peak before I had roots :,(. I try to keep my hair very healthy generally but if I feel like it’s being especially weak or dry I’ll go in with olaplex before shampoo. Olaplex is a bonds builder you use before your shampoo, and it basically reinforces the bonds of your hair! It’s a bit pricey so I don’t use it often as 1 bottle runs for around 15, and I use 1 bottle per use (long hair tingz). OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector First we’re gonna start off with this shampoo from L’Oréal. I like it so far because it does a pretty good job at keeping the colour in, and I really like the smell! I’ve been using it since March since my old shampoo was really expensive (I’m not out here trynna pay 20 bucks for shampoo consistently). L'ORÉAL - Elvive Color Vibrancy Protecting Shampoo I like to use it with this head massager brush I got from amazon because it helps reduce the oil on your scalp because I wash my hair every 2-3 days (But, I started doing this thing called cowashing though where you basically only condition when you wash your hair and I like it a lot). Basically when you lather your shampoo on you’re going to massage it in with this brush for around 15 seconds, leaving your hair to be really well washed at the top (which is what we want when we shampoo) Shampoo twice as usual and we’re moving on to conditioner. So my trick to maintaining healthy bleached hair is using a hair mask as a conditioner. These are the two I’m using right now: L’Oréal Mega Moisture Fructose Garnier one minute hair mask I mixed in my dye with these in a 7:3 ratio (I dyed using a 8:2 ratio I just made it a bit more pigmented because colour doesn’t stick as well on wet hair). The dye I’m currently using is Electric Paradise by Arctic Fox. I usually keep this in while I shave or brush my teeth (normalize brushing your teeth in the shower man) so around 3-5 min. And then after I’m done towel drying my hair I put in this Argan Oil From Morocco And yeah that’s my hair routine!! I discovered all these products by trial and error throughout my year and a half of hair dyeing, and it’s my time to impart this knowledge onto you! Thanks for reading until now and DM me on ig (@porojin) if u ever need any help and I’ll try to get to you! Farewell fellow mental breakdown enthusiasts, Chammy

Egg Remedy Hair Pack: damaged hair saviour
Egg Remedy Hair Pack: damaged hair saviour
Too cool for school has shook me to my core with this one. The egg remedy hair pack came into my life when I needed it most: my hair was dry, frizzy, damaged from bleached highlights, and desperate for moisture. I apply the too cool for school - Egg Remedy Hair Pack after using the shampoo and leave it in my hair for 3-5 minutes. It smells rich like honey and in just one use after rinsing my hair looks and feels like silk. Through consistent use my hair became so much smoother and more manageable like it was prior to bleaching it. It is $38.50 for 200g and lasts quite a long time. I love using it in conjunction with the egg remedy shampoo, but honestly get the same benefits using any other shampoo prior to this hair mask. It is my favourite hair product and I recommend it to all of my friends who have damaged or dry hair. 10/10 product (I would rate the shampoo more of a 7/10, however, as I don’t find the benefits as dramatic on its own).
