Battle of the amika masks
I have bleached hair and I recently got really serious about fixing the state of it (because 2020 has become the year of self care). I’ve tried everything from Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask to OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector and nothing really got along well with my dry, brittle ends. Soulfood was next to try on my list and when I mention it to my hair stylist she produced these and told me to give The Kure a try too since I was looking for something restoring. Let me just say- I am obsessed! I was hoping to try the smaller bottles and favour one over the other but to my surprise I want the jumbo tubs of both. I’ve seen a lot of talk around amika: - Soulfood Nourishing Mask so I’m not surprised that it was a godsend. It’s thick and buttery and leaves my hair super soft. It can be left on and used as a mask or it can be rinsed quickly as a daily conditioner. The only downside I found was that after using it as a mask it felt like a little bit oily (which is why I knocked a star off), but overall my hair was silky soft and my ends were less frayed. This almost makes your hair like a sheet of silk which might be weighing down if you have fine hair. amika: - The Kure Intense Repair Mask surprised me more than soulfood, I will say. I’ve seen it bouncing around here and it was always good but not the best. I thought this was a game changer for my hair personally. Unlike soulfood, this one is reco’d straight as a mask for weekly use. It’s suggested to leave it on for 10 mins or so but I like to do an hour or two (I’m working from home and I’m masking a LOT more simply because I can). This one rinses out so nicely and doesn’t leave any oily slick feeling. My hair is so soft and bouncy! It feels and looks so healthy and due to its repairing abilities I know my hair not only looks healthier but is actually healthier. I can go days with a blowout that still moves freely and isn’t frizzy, dry or weighed down. I’ve already ordered a larger size of the Kure and I’ll be doing the same with soulfood after the mini I got in my amika: - Brooklyn Hustle Haircare Bestsellers Starter Set is gone (I’m going to do a review for amika: - Perk Up Talc-Free Dry Shampoo as well) !

How I keep my long hair healthy!
Some background on my hair: My hair is naturally straight. I naturally have dirty blonde hair and I used to get highlights up until about 5/6 years ago. I now dye my hair to the color seen in the pictures above. I do not dye my hair very often, but damage can occur with dyeing in general, so keeping my hair healthy is important to me! it's a 10 haircare - Leave-In Conditioner Spray Product I use this product almost everytime I wash my hair (I alternate between this and olaplex). This keeps my hair soft, smooth, and moisturized. I love it! OLAPLEX - No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme this product has saved my hair from breakage and has made my hair super strong. You just need to be careful not to use too much because when I do it feels like I didn’t wash all the conditioner out of my hair. This product is amazing!! MOROCCANOIL - Moroccanoil Treatment this oil keeps my hair moisturized and shiny. I have used a lot of hair oils in the past and I’ve always come back to this one! JOSIE MARAN - 100% Pure Argan Oil I don’t wash my hair very often (only about 3 times a week to prevent over stripping). The night before it’s time to wash my hair I put a good amount of this stuff through my hair and sleep with it in. After I wash it out, I really do feel my hair is softer and shinier. Wet brush - Wet Original Brush I have used wet brushes for a while now and I really do think they make a difference. Hair tends to break off the most when it’s wet, so it’s important to be careful. These brushes are great at getting out tangles and making sure the hair stays healthy. Tips: -I try not to use too much heat on my hair, which really does make a difference -I trim my hair about every 4/5 months (only the very ends) to make sure my hair looks nice at the ends -I use silk pillow cases which help prevent breakage -I use hair towel turbans because towels can be stripping and cause breakage -use a hair mask once a week -use a scalp brush in the shower twice a week (helps get dry shampoo out of my roots and exfoliates). Of course everyone’s hair is different and not all products work for every hair type! These are just the products that have helped me reach my hair goals of having healthy, strong, and shiny hair! I hope this was helpful :)

Hair Care Essentials!
Hi Everyone! So I wanted to make a post on my hair care routine on the days that I do wash my hair because it has helped my hair so much as opposed to my old routine which was the customized shampoo and conditioner that either dried out my hair or my scalp or both. This is such an important time of the year to make sure our hair gets all the right care it needs because the air is so dry. So... let’s begin! First, before I get into the shower I use my Wet brush - Original Detangler to get out all the loose hairs so I don’t have as much of an issue in the shower. Next, in the shower I rinse my hair with just water and then start my shampoo process. I use a few finger globs of the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo and rub it in with my fingers first. Then before I rinse it out I use the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager to better massage it in my hair. I love it because it really gets the shampoo into my scalp and the shampoo foams so nicely and feels wonderful in my hair. After the shampoo and massager, I rinse it out and next I use the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Peppermint Oil Cooling Jelly Conditioner which is great with everything combined but the one downside is it doesn’t feel like it’s actually conditioning my hair. You really have to brush it with a comb in the shower in order to spread it all through your hair. But hey, it does the job. Rub that in for about a minute and rinse out. When I get out of the shower, I use (second picture) this microfiber hair towel to soak up all the water fast. I couldn’t find it as a product on this site but I got it on amazon for cheap and it does wonders to the drying process of my hair. I would say it’s just as good as the fancier hair towels. Once my hair gets a little dryer but still damp, I part my hair so my scalp is shower in the areas I get dandruff the most and add a few drops of the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Serum right onto the skin and massage it in with my fingers. Next I spray the dpHUE - Apple Cider Vinegar Leave-in Hair Therapy onto my hair generously and brush it through again with my wet brush. After that’s all said and done, I put my hair into a braid and let it air dry. Right now it’s in the process of drying but later I will add the final look to the post. I’m very excited about this new hair care routine and I think it’s doing wonders to my hair and scalp! ✨

✨take care of yo scalp 💁🏽‍♀️💆🏽‍♀️✨
Hello everybody, here are a couple things (not all but some of my faves) I use to combat some of the issues I have had trouble dealing with over the years. I don’t have a lot of dandruff per day but I have flakes that won’t come off? If that makes sense.. Let’s call what I have mild dandruff with some clogged pores. Here is what I have found to work for me: Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo Yes, the very famous, well known shampoo that everyone and their moms know and love. Yes it is just as good as everyone hypes it up to be. It’s magical, the exfoliating grains aren’t too coarse and the minty smell, cleans your soul. Words aren’t enough, and Sephora is giving away samples as birthday presents. Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Serum Yep, same deal with the scalp oil. I tried others but this one gets me all the time! It’s very light weight too, I have incredibly fine hair that gets greasy very easily (yeah my scalp and hair is basically a nightmare on my head, like literally) the oil helps my self esteem but also I have seen a tangible difference in how my scalp reacts when I put this stuff on. It’s a cooling feeling and over time you see less clogged pores (That means you don’t get the weirds scalp acne anymore) SEPHORA COLLECTION - SEPHORA COLLECTION Scalp Massager I brought this knock off because it was 10 dollars, I saved my coins unlike some other people. But also if you can support briogeo so they make more cool stuff, if you can that is. This scalp massager may have just been what I needed my whole life. I am going to buy my mom one too! My scalp feels more relaxed, those sore spots loosened up and I know it’s circulating everything.. that’s kinda the whole point. Good tool to have, i use it in the shower with shampoo but I also use it with serums, oils and any treatments for the scalp (and back of the neck, it’s not meant for your neck and shoulders but it feels so good...) NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Activated Bamboo Charcoal & Purple Moonstone Restore & Reclaim Scalp Scrub Thought I would like it because I like this brand but it’s not worth it.. it’s a nice conditioner with some wax beads... I guess that’s what happens when you buy hair stuff from the grocery store.. but like it’s a nice conditioner.. Kyn. - Restore Hemp Oil Did a review on this, check that in my feed! sulfur 8 - Medicated Anti-Dandruff Hair and Scalp Conditioner Original Formula Last but not least, the MVP of the whole scalp dealings. Apply this for atleast three hours before washing it off, be generous but also know a little goes a long way. Doesn’t smell good but it will do wonders, it’s like magic, use it with the scalp massager and that’s a double whammy. You just got yourself a new scalp! Aaand you’re welcome!

Love It or Leave It: Drunk Elephant Haircare
I’ve been using the Drunk Elephant hair products since their release in March of this year, and the results have completely blown me away. My hair has never looked or felt this healthy in my entire life. 😱 ⠀ My hair is naturally curly and very frizzy, but I prefer to wear it straight. (My ends, for example, may look split in this photo but they aren’t; they never lie fully straight thanks to my somewhat coarse texture and curl pattern). Because of this, it takes high and frequent heat to get these locks this smooth and silky, so I’m always needing to ward off potential damage. ⠀ I shampoo 1-2 times weekly with Cocomino Glossing Shampoo, which is gentle and doesn’t strip my hair of its natural oils, and I follow with Cocomino Marula Cream Conditioner. I leave the conditioner in while I finish my shower; the longer the better! My hair absolutely drinks it up. ⠀ Afterwards, I spray Wild Marula Tangle Spray through sections of my damp hair to help with tangles (this stuff works miracles, I swear!) and to give some much-needed heat protection. Once or twice a week I also use T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub. This is the one product that has actually made a marked difference for my perpetually dry scalp. It’s divine! ⠀ After a few weeks of use, I started realizing how soft my hair always was. All these months later and it’s only gotten better. My hair is less frizzy, it’s always so soft, and it looks and feels healthy. All the time. Not only does my skin live its best life, but now my hair does as well. ✨ ⠀ Have you tried any of the Drunk Elephant hair products? Which ones are your favorite? Let’s chat in the comments! 👇🗣 ⠀ * I did receive these products in PR, but I’ve also since repurchased the entire line myself. It keeps your hair fresh!
This may sound crazy, but our water is too soft for my hair to tolerate. Most people complain about the effects of hard water on hair, but the water that’s too soft can be just as annoying. I’ve got fine hair, but a lot of it and it feels disgustingly greasy and dirty if I wash it using super soft water. When I do, it’s like the product hasn’t been rinsed out and it looks ratty and oily right after getting out of the shower. I spent years looking for anything that would help and stumbled upon this scrub. So happy I did! Christophe Robin - Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt I received this in a beauty subscription and it sat in my bathroom cabinet for a while. I regret not using this sooner for my scalp psoriasis because it really made it subside. I use it every day now and my hair has never felt so clean! You might find you don’t even need it every day as it’s more of a clarifying product. If I don’t use it though, my hair immediately returns to being a greasy mess. So happy I found this. Previously I would only wash my hair because I was concerned about chemicals getting into my open skin. I rub it around the perimeter of my scalp and let it sit for a moment then rub it in and lather it up and let it sit. I use a good conditioner afterward because the salts dry out my hair. I'm so pleased with my hair now! This is honestly the best scalp scrub I’ve ever used. i have gone through so many other scrubs and they don’t really do anything. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the price since it is so small but the thing is you are only supposed to use it once or twice a week. I use a nickel-size amount and sometimes add a little of my other shampoo. That way it really lathers into my scalp. I love how it smells and how it suds up, it’s helped with my dandruff. I will purchase this over any other scalp scrub in the future!

Christophe Robin helps my hair
When it comes to travelling, I have my skincare routine down to a science. My hair, however, is a whole other story. After spending months in different countries and on several flights, my head finally revolted. From limp locks to an itchy, angry scalp, my hair showed all signs of trauma. On a quick work trip to LA, I made a stop at Sephora and picked up the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea SaltChristophe Robin - Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt The product comes in a clear plastic tub with a sturdy, screw-on cap. Whilst the packaging is certainly functional, I would’ve preferred it if there was a spatula attached to scoop out the product. The ingredients and directions for use are printed on the back. On the application front, this scrub was definitely one of the nicest ones I’ve used. The thick, gritty texture felt heavenly on my scalp and really seemed to buff away any dry patches. Unlike several physical exfoliants, the granules were not coarse or pointed and thus did not feel too abrasive on my head. After massaging it in for a few minutes, I added water to it. To my surprise, the scrub lathered up quite well and rinsed off without leaving any residue behind. The only downside is that it is easy to get carried away and use too much product. I only needed about a tablespoon to cover my scalp completely. I’ve been using this scrub once a week, for about 2 months now, and have absolutely fallen in love with it! Not only does it get rid of product build-up and dead skin, but also soothes my scalps and eases any itchiness. Whenever I use it, my hair feels lighter and fluffier – in a really good way! Whilst I love the clarifying effect that this formula has, it does dry out my strands a bit. I recommend using a heavy-duty conditioner after you apply this scrub. Gentle, yet effective, this gritty scrub has earned a permanent spot in my travel kit. Although it’s on the expensive side, it lasts for quite a while as you only require a small amount every time. Plus, it feels like you are undergoing an invigorating head massage every time you use it! Price: USD 53.00

This organic brand repairs your split ends!
How is your dry, damaged hair( No offense)?   When I was young, I had smooth and shiny hair that everyone admired. But after I permed and dyed it to pursue fashion, my hair was severely damaged and became coarse, dull and forficate. Everytime I see my bad hair, I felt regretful.   Since damage has already been done, I turned to ways to repair my hair. Of all the products I've tried, I was impressed by a brand named Aveda. I think I have to share its damage remedy conditioner with you because it’s really so good!   AVEDA - Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair Aveda advocates the use of natural herbs to balance the hair from the inside out. More than 50% of the ingredients in all Aveda products come from natural extracts including plant and minerals, which is mild and safely used. So Aveda is absolutely a trusted organic brand!   This conditioner contains pure flower and plant essences such as hippophae rhamnoides extract, linum usitatissimum and medicago sativ, etc. Its quinoa protein has definitely repair effect since hair is mainly made up of protein. This item provides the hair nutrients, detangles and protects hair from breakage.   Its thin lotion texture is very refreshing, without any greasy feeling. Your hands don't need to wash even after using.   This product is great on wet or dry hair, but I usually put it on wet hair, especially on the damaged ends and then comb. With the effect of preventing heat damage from blow dryer, everytime I blowdry my hair, I don't end up with a lot of fuzzy hair, leaving it smell good, too!   I have blonde, dyed, thin hair with body, not curl and this really makes my hair shiny. I also can tell the difference with the strength of the ends.   This product has really helped restore moisture and strength. It 's a bit expensive, but I only use a dime-sized amount on my shoulder length hair. So it can last a long time. Worth the money!

The BEST product for split ends 💕
I got this hair serum from a FabFitFun box a while ago and honestly WOW!! It’s super difficult for me to grow my hair out because somehow it gets damaged, I don’t use heat on my hair at all, no hair dryer or styling tools but I still can’t manage to grow out healthy hair. I’ve tried all the possible hair masks and leave-in conditioners but I’d never seen any visible improvement. Now I’m aware that once you get split ends there’s no way to just glue them back together and you have to 💇‍♀️ but I was looking for a product that would make them less visible and the bottom of my hair less dry and I HAVE FOUND IT!! AVEDA - Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair - I use a quarter size amount on damp hair about 1-2 times a week and my hair loves it! It feels so smooth after using this serum and my split ends are not even visible. This product really makes a difference for me and I will definitely be repurchasing!! That being said, trimming hair periodically is still recommended for maintaining healthy hair. If there are any other products that help with damaged hair or oily hair I would love to hear suggestions!

Dry Itchy scalp be gone! Without spending $$$
yesto - Tea Tree Gentle & Soothing Pre-Shampoo Scalp Scrub is a great, much less expensive substitute for Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo They both contain Tea Tree Oil to help combat scalp itch. The Briogeo is meant to be used instead of shampoo, the Yesto version is a pre-shampoo scrub. The Briogeo contains Charcoal, Coconut Oil, Peppermint & Spearmint. The Yesto contains Sage Oil, Witch Hazel, and ACV. So if you are sensitive to the ingredients in one you might want to check out the other! In either case if you have reactive or sensitive skin I would do a spot test first. As far as the Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager , I found a much less expensive version on Amazon for $8 - half the price! If you have very fine hair you should be extra gentle as this tool might tear your hair. If your hair is very dense, it might take some trial and error to figure out the best way to use it.

Easy Waves, Without the Frizz!
#CheriePartner My thick yet fine hair naturally straddles the 2A/2B line, depending on a variety of factors: humidity level, days since last shampoo, products used, etc. But I love using the amika: - High Tide Deep Waver to make defined waves that have a bit of a retro feel, without the frizz from letting my hair naturally wave via air drying! I typically only heat-style on special occasions or when extending time between washes- here’s my no-wash day wave routine! 1. Separate: I separate my hair into three sections with a wide-tooth comb: crown, middle, nape. Crown is pulled into a small ponytail, then middle joins it using a clip. 2. Protect: Apply *amika: - The Wizard Detangling Primer liberally to the current layer- I run my fingers through the layer to help it soak in, letting hair dry fully. 3. Style:Starting at the roots, I take a section of hair from the current layer and clamp it between the paddles of the styler. I hold for a full 5 seconds before releasing it, moving down that section of hair vertically. Repeat throughout the current layer, moving along vertically. 4. Re-Section: I’m kind of Type A about things so I tie up the current layer of separated hair before letting down the next layer. Repeat Steps 2-4 Until All Hair Has Been Waved 5. Focused Protection: Before my hair fully cools, I rub a pump of *amika: - Blockade Heat Protectant Serum between the tips of my fingers and focus on moisturizing/protecting the ends of my hair. I’ve noticed this helps my hair look more polished and extend the life of the hairstyle as far as frizz is concerned! 6. Smooth: Once my hair has cooled and the serum has soaked in, I finish everything off with a few sprays of amika: - Silken Up Dry Conditioner and a thorough fluffing with my hands! I love how shiny and soft my hair still is once it’s been waved, after utilizing so many protective products 💕 * PR Sample

😳Why box dye is TERRIBLE for your hair
As some of you may know by now, I am a licensed cosmetologist. I see TONS of clients everyday and a large amount of my new clients are color corrections. What’s a color correction? Wells color correction is usually a pricey service that a hairstylist does once your hair is compromised from box dye...or maybe you gave yourself a hOMBRÈ. Yeah I called you out😂 This service is so pricey because it can take HOURS to fix this situation. This haircolor, took FIVE hours. She had three layers of red box dye in her hair and about two inches of regrowth that was lighter than the red. Trust me I wanted to cry when I saw it. This is every hairstylists worst nightmare. A client wanting to be blonde but their red. Lol not gonna happen. As you can see, there’s still some red, that’s where she really overlapped her box dyes. Box dyes are progressive dyes that really buildup on the hair. They have metallic salts that can build up and reeeaally dry out the hair....not fun. If I do a color correction over boxed hair I will seriously FORCE clients to get Olaplex added to the color and lightener. It’s soo damaged just in general and it’ll be worse after a huge chemical service like this one! Use these to prevent any further damage OLAPLEX - No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo OLAPLEX - No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner amika: - The Wizard Detangling Primer OLAPLEX - No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme KEVIN.MURPHY - Smooth.Again

OUAI SCALP AND BODY SCRUB
OUAI SCALP AND BODY SCRUB
I recieved a mini of this in an Allure box, and I was thrilled because I’ve heard GREAT things about this. The only other scalp scrub I have tried is the Briogeo charcoal one, and I hated how it completely changed the texture of my hair after I used it. (If you are curious, I used both the charcoal scrub and the conditioner, and both made my hair so sticky and dry...maybe it’s a curly hair issue.😕) This scrub contains coconut oil, sugar crystals, and probiotics to exfoliate the scalp while balancing your skin’s natural oils to avoid drying it out. It definitely gets rid of grime and buildup on my scalp, and I LOVE that it still leaves my hair soft and silky! I have a particularly dry patch right on the crown of my head, and I notice a big difference when I focus this on that area. • OUAI - Scalp & Body Scrub

my affordable fragrance free hair care rountine
do you have sensitive skin, and need gentle affordable fragrance free hair products? Well you’ve come to the right place. first off lets start with shampoo, i recommend shampoing twice when washing your hair. This will prevent your hair from getting oily too quickly during the week. you should also wait as long as possible between hair wash days (i wash my hair once a week.) here’s the sampoo i recommed: live clean - Sensitive Hypoallergenic Shampoo for conditioner i put it on my mid ends, leave it on for a few minute and then rinse it but not fully, leave a little bit in. here’s the conditioner i recommed: live clean - Sensitive Hypoallergenic Conditioner The shampoo and conditioner is fragrance free, sls free, phthalate free, silicone free and paraben free. Next for styling I recommed using a good aloe vera gel. any brand works, just make sure that aloe vera is at the top of the ingredient list, that it dye and fragrance free. put the aloe vera in your hands and distribute it in your hair using the praying hands method. than let your hair air dry. I like using jojoba oil after my hair dried on the ends. i put a few drops on my emds everynight before braiding my hair and going to sleep. i got mine from amazon. Make sure you get one that is a 100% pure. I also use The Ordinary - Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density . i put afew drops on my scalp everynight. it doesn’t have any sent, and will hopefully make my hair thicker in the long run Finally my favorite dry shampoo for sensitive scalp is the ACURE - Dry Shampoo for Brunette to Dark Hair . This dry shampoo is fragrance free, and is the perfect color for my dark blond hair. It makes my hair feel clean and ads a bit a volume That’s it :)

Overall, I’m pretty impressed with this line. It’s affordable with gentle and nourishing ingredients for your hair. They have products that tackle scalp care specifically. This all speaks to me!! The two products that have naturally been incorporated into my routine is the THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment salicylic acid exfoliating hair treatment. I use a lot of products in my scalp and use a clarifying shampoo every few weeks. In between, this has been a great treatment to help with excessive build up or flakey scalp. It helps to avoid breakage without making my hair feel greasy or heavy. The other two products I’ve used a few times and plan on continuing to use to really determine my thoughts. As a redhead, I’ve always taken great pride in my hair. However, it wasn’t till quarantine that I actually started taking care of it. I have 2B hair that is prone to frizz, I used to use drug store brands and would wash my hair daily due to my vigorous workout routine. I started washing it every other day, and while that helped, it wasn’t until I found new products and a new routine that I can actually say I’m happy with my hair. Here is my entire routine! Wash day: Shampoo and condition: Redken All Soft - it is hard to go wrong with this shampoo and conditioner, good for all hair types Post shower: I start by combing through a pump of jojoba oil thru the bottoms 3/4 of my hair with my fingers then I use IGK - Good Behavior 4-in-1 Prep Spray (my miracle product, ideal for blow outs, but still helpful when air drying) next IGK - Thirsty Girl Coconut Milk Anti-Frizz Leave-in Conditioner (a must leave in conditioner for my curly friends) and then I finish with VERB - Ghost Oil on my ends Once a week instead I use: IGK - First Class Detoxifying Charcoal Shampoo to help with product build up and VERB - Ghost Hair Mask to help with softness. These products work great! Thanks to the charcoal shampoo, an oily saturated scalp is a thing of the past. And the ghost mask smells of lovely sandalwood and my hair is so smooth after, it’s mesmerizing. Non-shampoo days: If I have a light workout I normally just use IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo before and after my workout. Best dry shampoo I have ever used. The charcoal really helps with the sweat. Now if I did my typical 5 mile run and weights, I need something a little more powerful to help me out. I start by using IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo prior to working out, this helps to absorb the oil as you workout. After my workout, I rinse in the shower with IGK - Smoke & Mirrors this is the next best thing to shampooing! My hair feels clean afterwards, however, it doesn’t strip your hair and dry it out. I follow with my normal post shower routine, however I skip the jojoba oil. I also started adding a scoop of collagen powder to my first cup of coffee. I mainly started using it because at 23, I’ve already been running nearly every day for 9 years 😅 so my joints need all the help they can get; however, I think it’s helped in making my hair stronger. My hairdresser noticed an extreme difference in my hair, which was all the confirmation I needed to continue on this pursuit.
