📚 𝓢𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓡𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓛𝓲𝓼𝓽 📚
💳🛍I recently went on a book ordering spree... (😝one of my favorite things, besides skincare splurges) 💻 Even though we can get seemingly endless information about skincare online, I was curious to seek out some books because I love the tactility & I really hate reading on a screen. Regarding ingredients, there is a plethora of opposing information online, & I’m sure these books will yield some of that too. It’s important to cross reference your searches, meaning checking multiple sources & comparing that information. It’s also important to consider what site is providing the information & whom might benefit from it. 📚Swipe to peek inside📖 PRETTY ICONIC A Personal Look at the Beauty Products That Changed the World By Sali Hughes 2016 💄$18-$21 (paperback version) I was most excited about this one, I’m a big fan of pop culture history & of course I love beauty products. I think this book would likely find a loving home on many of your coffee tables☕️ With over 400 pages of iconic & cult popular skincare & cosmetics products from over the decades, this is such a fun addition to any beauty fanatics collection! THE BEAUTY GEEK’S GUIDE TO SKINCARE 1,000 Essential Definitions of Common Product Ingredients By Deborah Burnes 2019 👩🏽🔬$15-$18 • 178 pages A really great resource for looking up both chemical & botanical ingredients. The vast majority of the book is just like a dictionary. It also includes some natural recipes & remedies, as well as source references for all ingredient info. MAKEUP IS NOT (JUST) MAGIC A Manga Guide to Cosmetics & Skin Care Written & illustrated by Ikumi Rotta 2019 🌸$14 • 135 pages This super cute manga was translated into English earlier this year. It takes the form of a guide to the basics of Japanese skincare & makeup application by following a loose narrative of a young woman who writes about beauty products on social media (sound familiar?😻) I read a lot of manga, I’m impressed by this high quality paper! THE KOREAN SKINCARE BIBLE The Ultimate Guide to K-Beauty Secrets By Lilian Yang, Leah Ganse & Sara Jiménez 2018 Makeup chapter by Esther Sandoval 💗$13 (hardbound) 🇪🇸This was actually originally published in Spain as: ‘El Arte Coreano del Cuidado de la Piel’ It’s a cute little 189 pages, straightforward & informative. K-BEAUTY : THE FACTS Korea’s Top Dermatologist Reveals the Insider Truth about Korean Skincare By Hae Shin Chung 2020 🇰🇷$13 • 175 pages This book aims to debunk &/or demystify many Korean skincare myths with science, graphs & knowledge from 1 of South Korea’s most renowned dermatologists.
PRODUCTS I’VE BEEN USING FOR OVER 10 YEARS!
I have oily and sensitive skin, that has always been true for my skin even when I was a teen. Growing up i had stubborn acne that led to acne scars which then led to hyperpigmentation. While my acne has calmed down and I now only get the occasional hormonal breakouts but my hyperpigmentation is still here. There are a few products that my dermatologist had recommended to me as a teen that I love and use to this day even though my skin has changed. Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser - when I had sever acne as a teen my dermatologist prescribed me all types of cleaners for my skin to help reduce my breakouts. A bunch of the cleaners we tried had harsh chemicals and irritated and dried out my skin. Cetaphil gentle cleanser is a water based gel like cleanser that helps to wash away dirt and bacteria without those harsh chemicals that strip skin of moisture. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin - this moisturizer is super lightweight and gentle. It is a white lotion that is hydrating but not greasy. Because my skin is so oily I didn’t want something that was going to add much more shine to my face but rather something that was going to keep my skin hydrated just enough so that my skin would over product oils as a result of a lack of moisture. DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel - the formula has changed a bit since I was a teen so I don’t think it is as effective now as it was back then. Before it was only available with a prescription and now you can buy it over the counter. It has a white gel like texture. This was a game changer for my acne. It really helped to reduce the appearance of my acne and dark spots. It is one of the only acne treatments that doesn’t irritate my skin. I try different skincare products from time to time but I always keep these 3 products stocked to fall back on when other products don’t work to plan. I would recommend these products to people with sensitive skin. #CheriePartner

Asking for tips/suggestions!!!
The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane haven’t used it for a long period of time to give a review. But there are times i would apply this at night and my skin is feeling soft like a baby’s butt. The way i integrate this product in my routine, is that i would use this only as my active and the rest of my skincare is gentle and basic. Cerave hydratjng cleanser, kiehls calendula toner, then this serum, and finish it with a nourishing cream such as drunk elephant lalaretro whipped cream! I know retinol can be very drying which is why i used the moisturizer that has the most beneficial ingredients. I got myself two bottles thinking i would go through this quick, but i thought wrong. Which is why i started using it on my neck every day, i have some noticeable lines that i would like to get rid of. i would buff it with the cerave lotion, and apply a few drops on the palm of my hands and apply it on my neck and chest. I only use this once a week, ive learned it the hard way and used so much actives at once that my skin became hella sensitive. Any suggestions as to how i could benefit more to this serum? YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Tonerno ratings, because i haven’t used it yet! I ended up buying the smaller bottle of it, because for now i’m finishing up the drunk elephant aha/bha serum before i could try this product out. Please give me tips on how to use it, how i can incorporate it in my routine, should i just not have bought it at all? Lol 🆘

Cleansing oil, kose it or loose it?
KOSE COSMEPORT - SOFTYMO Speedy Cleansing Oil This bit$& let me down. I had high hopes. This product did not clean off make up as well as it claimed and I didn’t see any added benefits to my pores, skin, anything. I used the product for a month and nope nothing..... It has a weird olive oil scent which in all tranparency made me a bit nauseous🤢 TMI and it didn’t pair well with a hyluranic acid cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I usually like to start with a cleansing oil then a foam cleanser. The oil also blocked pores and wasn’t fun to use. Also if you have CYSTIC acne I wouldn’t suggest this. And if you are having a bad day this kinda makes it worse in other words. If you are under a lot of stress(about to get real here) it doesn’t pair well with tears lol yes. The back story of this is that college life and relationships get to us. And an important face wash and moisturizer in my opinion take away stress from the face. However, the PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser that I switched to seemed to be sufficient enough for cleaning my skin and giving my skin a good protective barrier, however, if I put on my full face of make up then I need something to take away my powdered donut, so TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser is unreal, how much grime, and make up it will take off with such a small amount. But for a cheaper alternative CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser but for this you should follow up with an exfoliant. I personally, have dry skin at the moment without makeup, so I have to be careful what I use because a lot of products strip everything from my skin. Okay lastly, I personally believe oil cleansing before a foam cleanser is not for everyone. Because I have seen some people have great success and me not so much. But in my experience learning how to exfoliate and cleanse your face is key. And truly understanding your face is key. I’m other words, focus on what your face needs. I feel that face masks twice a week that are for My SKIN conditions are vital to a nice well rounded well shall we say just great looking skin and let me just last note that this is too cool for school - Pumpkin 24K Gold Mask a holy of holy grails. This was incredible! Incredible! Incredible. Treat yourself and find relaxation you deserve it..
🍬🍃TATCHA MINIS HAUL🍃🍬
💜This is a recent Tatcha haul I scooped from Sephora with my VIB discount & saved up points, but I definitely placed an order today on tatcha.com to take advantage of their 20% off sale. Such a good time to purchase from Tatcha! I grabbed a couple old 5 star favorites like the Gold Spun lip balm & their Japanese blotting papers, as well as some other things I’ve been wanting to check out. Tatcha is actually an American brand, made in Japan🇯🇵, that adheres to Japan’s official safety & purity standards, one of the highest in the world, much stricter than the US (for more on that, check out my last post, or the 2015 documentary on Netflix called Stink) They were recently acquired by Unilever, so I hope they don’t ever change their standards! Tatcha sources all of their botanical extracts, ingredients & actives from plants grown in the most renowned provenances of Japan. 🍵🍚🌊Their formulas revolve around key ingredients Green Tea, Rice & Seaweed, the trinity of superfoods, rich in both nutrients & Japanese history, based on a Japanese document from 1813 which captured the beauty rituals of the time. ➕Their 2x fermented ‘Hadasei-3 complex’ yields over 85 actives like Enzymes, Minerals, Lactic & Amino Acids. It’s been a couple years since I’ve purchased Tatcha products, I’ve always loved their face creams, but we all know Tatcha is pricey!!! I think I was just always into moving on & trying something new, but oh how I missed them! I haven’t had as much luck with Tatcha cleansers in the past, I do adore their rice polish exfoliators 🍚 but personally was never a fan of the ‘One Step Camellia cleansing oil’ scent. I don’t think I’ve ever tried ‘The Deep Cleanse’ but I’m actually most excited to try their new cream cleanser: ‘The Rice Wash’🍚💦 I was also excited to finally try ‘The Silk Peony melting eye cream’ too, so this set was a no brainer! TATCHA - Pure & Glowing Trio set: $72 The ‘Pure & Glowing Trio’ set includes: a full size 1.7 oz Dewy Skin cream ($68) a 1.7 oz Rice Wash cleanser (full size is $35/4 oz) & 0.17 oz Silk Peony eye cream (full size $60/.5 oz) 🍬For now I’m just gonna share texture swatches & ingredients, but stay tuned... I’ll be rating everything in full review of every product coming soon! 💧TATCHA - Balanced Skin Duo The other products pictured are minis from a ‘Sephora Beauty Insider’ 300-point option that included: one mini ‘The Deep Cleanse’ 0.85 oz & one mini ‘The Water Cream’ 0.34 oz TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser Full size: $38/5 oz TATCHA - The Water Cream Full size $68/1.7 oz 💜In the meantime, check out that sale! And tell me your favorite Tatcha product(s) in the comments... or tell me about the ones that didn’t work for you!

My recent daytime routine for oily skin
Note** This picture doesn’t include my Netrogena sunscreen ** I always always wear it though!! I’ve gone through a ton of different products and a ton of different routines for daytime trying to combat my oily skin. This one is my most recent but it’s the one that has undoubtedly helped me the most!! Daytime ☀️ I wake up and I cleanse my face with the Youth to the People Kale+Green tea, spinach, & vitamins face wash. This cleans my face of all the nightly skincare products I use and leaves my face soft but not stripped. (This is very important! Do not use a wash that will strip your skins oils if you have oily skin, it will just work overtime to replace it 😩) I then spray my face with the Youth to the People Adaptogen soothe & hydrate mist. This gives my skin a boost of hydration but it also leaves my skin matte which is perfect! I really love this spray and I use this throughout the day as needed as well! My last step before ☀️screen, (because honestly your daytime routine should be simple) is I use the boscia charcoal gel moisturizer. I just did a review on this moisturizer and I’m not kidding when I say that this is literally my holy grail for my oily skin. It moisturizes extremely well but the charcoal and it absorbs any oil and it continues to do so throughout the day even under make up!! This is a very recent routine I’ve adapted and it’s working amazing right now!! I don’t even have to reapply powder throughout the day which is the best!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 If anything changes I will definitely make an update post! If you have oily to combination skin and you were looking for a routine that will help your face stay matte but still moisturize throughout the day definitely give this one a try!! 💧 boscia - Revitalizing Black Charcoal Hydration Gel YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
🌍Eco friendly skincare packaging = the future
Glass packaging in skincare really is the wave when it comes to sustainability! Glass jars reduce the quantity of plastic waste created by the beauty industry, and I’m for it. I love repurposing glass jars to store other items like jewelry, homemade creams and candle wax! Something Youth to the People does that I find amazing is they sell a large bottle that you can refill smaller bottles with. My mini is now a travel must for me, and instead of purchasing again and again I just refill it! 🍀🌴☘️ I also think it’s an amazing cleanser so it’s a win-win. Not the “Beste” but the Worst
I received this as a free birthday gift and I was so glad I did not pay for this. My skin was looking great with my skin routine and old cleanser. However, after only using this for a few days, I broke out on my T-zone and cheeks. The smell was “old” and remained on my face even after washing. I would have to rub the product quite a bit to get a lather, only to feel like my face had a filmy residue on it afterwards. Instead of making my face feel clean and refreshed, it felt like I needed to wash it off with something else and it left my skin feeling dry. Needless to say, I tossed it after a few days and do not recommend. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser

I am not made for minimalism: Rate My Routine
So first I have to say the PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser was half off at Ulta and I decided to try it as my morning cleanser. That was a mistake and why I am broken out in these pictures. Pics are no makeup/filter. My skin is normal /dry. It is incredibly reactive. I can’t use any actives not retinol not HA nor any of the acids. I have one age spot because I avoid the sun like a plague and always wear sunscreen and a hat. This is why my skincare system is so simple and focuses on adding moisture. CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil An HG Product. It feels great and makes a nice clean start to the day. Also fragrance free!!!! AM ONLY: fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I keep coming back to it because it doesn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts but I don’t really love it. It works. Meh. PM ONLY: OSEA - Ocean Cleanser I can’t use this every wash because of the lactic acid but it is incredibly effective at making my face glow and getting rid of acne scars and breakouts. I wash my face and then let it sit for two minutes (a cherie trick) and wow does that make a huge difference. It has a distinct smell that takes some getting used to and it produces a tiny bit of foam that you really don’t want to get in your eyes. acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner I like the way this product feels. My skin feels fresh after I use it. The texture is really thin and it takes a while to absorb. H2O+ - Hydration Sensitive Essence I haven’t decided how I feel about this product yet. I am allergic to the moisturizer and the cleanser in this line. I do like the milky texture and the way it doesn’t lay on my skin but seems to absorb while I am not paying attention. Krave - Great Barrier Relief My great HG love that keeps my face from drying out. Let us never be separated. KINSHIP - Pimple Potion Retinal + Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment is slowly, but surely, getting rid of the milia on my chin. It is this orange-yellow color and has a thick lotiony texture. innisfree - Olive Real Power Cream Ex. A little goes a loooong way. I have struggled to find a moisturizer because I was applying lotion 5-6 times a day and DE isn’t cheap. This is 1/3 of the price and works 4x as well at keeping my face moisturized. It has a pleasant citrus smell and the whipped gel texture is nice. dear, klairs - Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter This has a really nice creamy but not to thick texture. I use it twice a day and my eye bags have been reduced by 90%. The container is a pain to deal with and dispense product from. AM (Coming Soon) Krave - The Beet Shield How am I doing?
Fresh beauty kit
The best selling Soy Face Cleanser is my all-time favorite face cleansing gel which gently melts away all the impurities and leaves me clean and refreshing skin. I have been repurchasing this cleanser many times. fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash The Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask is my another go-to product for years. The texture is creamy soft and leaves my skin very hydrated. It is formulated the Black Tea Complex of Kombucha, Black Tea Extract, Blackberry Leaf Extract, and Lychee Seed Extract that helps to protect your skin from pollution and improve skin elasticity. fresh - Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask The Rose Face Mask is infused with pure rosewater, cucumber ecstasy, and aloe vera that helps to instantly hydrate and soothe the skin. After using it, I feel my skin is soft and plumping. fresh - Rose Face Mask The Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask is an overnight treatment mask that infused with kombucha (black tea ferment), black tea extract, blackberry leaf extract, and lychee seed extract that helps too smooth and rebalance the skin. HELP! I need a new skincare routine!
(Excuse my eyebrows I need to get them threaded) LOL So I’ve always struggled with acne, and I’m 18 and it’s still going on. I started birth control to help with my periods and acne about a little over 2 years ago now, and it has dramatically decreased my acne and helped so much with my flow and cramps. I just want to feel more confident because I rarely wear any makeup (foundation) on my face, and when I do I just want it to look smooth and not bumpy. I would really appreciate if anyone could recommend any products they use or have used. My skin is mainly oily, but it can be combination sometimes and sensitive when it wants to. Also, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on products. And what are y’all’s opinions/reviews on The Ordinary? Please help me! 🙏🏼 My morning routine consists of: -Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash -DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner -FORMULA 10.0.6 - Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer My nighttime routine consists of: -GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying -CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin -Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash -DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner -Beauty 360° - Vitamin E Moisturizing Oil -GARNIER - SkinActive Soothing Facial Mist with Rose Water -FORMULA 10.0.6 - Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer (I do use masks sometimes just like everybody else after I double cleanse at nighttime).
my skin is becoming so clear ☺️☺️
my other posts show my skin before and now it’s getting so much better! i’m going to order the ordinary but right now it’s sold out, although i can say i’m happy with my results using just the CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin :)

The FAB Four Travel Set
This is probably my favorite brand, but it’s not perfect. There are some products that are really amazing and then some that just flopped. I want to focus on these four which are some of their most popular products from the brand. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser This is definitely one of my favorite cleansers especially because of how well it cleanses. It’s best for combination to drier skin types. This product has amazing hydrating ingredients such as glycerin and aloe extract. -Fragrance-free. -Contains soothing ingredients such as feverfew and licorice extract. -Rinses without leaving any residue. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Facial Radiance Pads This product has a very interesting formula containing very soothing and beneficial ingredients, however, it also contains some irritating ones. This product contains some citrus extracts which are very irritating ingredients and it also means that it has fragrance. -It also contains aloe and cucumber extract which are very soothing ingredients. -The exfoliating aspect of this product is characterized by lactic and glycolic acid. -In addition to aloe and cucumber extract, this product also contains glycerin and hyaluronic acid. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream This is a very good moisturizing cream especially for those with dry skin. It contains great ingredients for this such as shea butter, glycerin, and squalane. The formula also contains soothing ingredients such as allantoin, feverfew extract, and licorice extract. -Product also contains colloidal oatmeal which is good for irritation, rashes, eczema, and other skin conditions. -This formula also has one form of ceramides. -Unfortunately, it contains a fragrant oil, eucalyptus, it is the very last thing on the ingredient list. When I used this product, I couldn’t even tell that there was eucalyptus oil in it. Which I’m going to assume that there is a very small amount. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral SPF 30 This is definitely going to be based on ingredients since my experience wasn’t very good. Maybe it was just a bad batch, but the product had a very sandy texture. I personally don’t agree with just reviewing products based on personal experience since everyone’s skin is different. What works for me may not work for someone else. -Fragrance-free. -This sunscreen does have a tint which counteracts the white cast. -The product contains feverfew and licorice extracts, amazing soothing ingredients. -It also includes green tea, vitamin C, and E which are great antioxidants. FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Four Travel Faves Kit Overall, I think this is a very good travel set especially if you want to try out some products from First Aid Beauty. I would recommend the cleanser which I actually have been using for a while now. The cream moisturizer is also a good pick, but be careful with the fragrance.
Favorite products to beat Maskne! 😷
✨ Before I dive in to the product-reviews, I want to give you guys three tips that have helped me keep breakouts/maskne away! • Change your mask everyday/Do not reuse masks - this does not apply to reusable mask; However if you are using a reusable mask, make sure you’re washing it after every use 👌🏽 I personally have a mask for everyday of the week and wash them all on laundry days using the Tide Free & Clear detergent on a gentle cycle. • Cleanse skin day & night - having a mask on all day can harbor bacteria on that area of the face, so it’s important to washing all the dirt and grime away. • Use non-irritating products & products for acne. Even though I don’t deal with acne anymore, I have implemented a couple products in my skincare routine that are for acne to help me with any breakouts. ✨ Here are two products that have been saving my skin lately: • FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser This is a skincare staple for me and has helped me with my sensitivity and maskne. It isn’t super hydrating but doesn’t strip your skin either, making it the perfect cleanser for those dealing with breakouts. It has a creamier texture and suds up perfectly. • The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Do I have to go into detail? 😂 this ingredient is becoming more & more popular by the hour and I love it! I saw significant improvement of my maskne within a week of using this in my skin. It also got rid of any hyperpigmentation left behind from my breakouts. I also started using it on my body to help with body acne and eczema too. 😉 Both products can be purchased at ULTA or Sephora. The cleanser is around $25 and the serum is about $6/7! If nothing else, I would suggest buying the Niacinamide because that is truly the star of the show here 🌟 Have you guys used either? What are your thoughts? ✨ #CheriePartner

FINALLY! An acne wash that didn’t dry me out💙
Boy oh boy do I love this cleanser! This is theCeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser with 4% Benzoyl Peroxide. It claims to clear pimples and blackheads, prevent new acne from forming and allow skin to heal. It also claims to maintain the skin barrier. It contains hyaluronic acid, three ceramides and niacinamide. I was a bit hesitant about the niacinamide as I had a bad reaction to The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (see previous post). I’ve struggled with bad cystic acne for years. My acne is so bad that I am getting on Accutane next month. I have VERY dry skin that is prone to peeling, dry patches, etc. Over the years I have tried plenty of “acne fighting” cleansers, both high end and drugstore. All of them have dried me me out beyond belief, resulting in horrible irritation. Finally, I decided I would rather have acne than the irritation and unsightly dry patches. I began using the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser and have been for years. I adore it! However, when I seen the CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser in store, I decided to take a chance with it since I’ve had amazing luck with all cerave products. I picked mine up at Target for $11.99 for 5 fl oz. The directions indicate you can use this twice a day, but I only use it at night. I think twice a day would be overkill, especially for those of us with dry and/or sensitive skin. Once I began using this, I was shocked to find that it didn’t over-strip my skin and didn’t dry me out. It was a miracle. I’ve been using this product daily for over a month and it still hasn’t dried me out, even as the weather has gotten colder. This does contain hyaluronic acid and ceramides, which definitely help with retaining the moisture barrier. Just for safe measures, I make sure to always use very moisturizing products on top of this, just to make sure my skin stays hydrated. One thing I can say about this cleanser that’s slightly annoying is that it doesn’t do a great job at getting stubborn makeup off. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend relying solely on this to get off makeup, sunscreen, etc. This also shouldn’t be used around the eyes(trust me, it burns) so you can’t use it for mascara and such. This isn’t a big deal to me as I double cleanse. If you need a more “heavy duty” cleanser at night, you could always use this in the morning instead or just go in with a heavier cleanser before using this. Now on to the most important part; did this work for my acne? So, I can’t say this was a miracle worker. It didn’t completely clear up my skin. I honestly don’t think anything would and that’s why I’m going on Accutane. BUT, this definitely helped clear up some of my pimples and make them go away faster. Also, I haven’t been breaking out as much as usual, so this is definitely helping. I would definitely recommend this for all skin types, even dry skin! Hallelujah! Moisturizing + Acne Fighting =Winning 🎉

Hi Gems! We are now in the full swing of October so it’s time to review what I emptied in September! DevaCurl - One Condition Decadence for Super Curly Hair This conditioner was good for my damaged curls! It provided enough hydration, but I didn’t love how it felt going into my hair. I loved the subtle scent of and the bright packaging! Although this conditioner is great, it is pricy especially when I use so much of it! I have since moved on to trying another curly girl conditioner that I will review soon! JERGENS - Natural Glow Instant Sun Mousse This has been my go to drugstore self tanner for a while now! I never have any issues with it streaking when combined with my tanning mitt and it fades well. The smell is pretty bad and it can be very sticky, so I only leave it on for around 5-6 hours and use baby powder to combat stickiness! The color is great and not too orange! ogx - Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco Weightless Healing Dry Oil I love this hair oil! It smells amazing AND tackles my frizzy curls like a champ! It is truly weightless and never leaves my hair feeling oily or weighed down! If you have trouble with frizz or just want your hair to look healthy this is definitely for you! I will be repurchasing! Fruit of the Earth - Aloe Vera 100% Gel Every girl needs a trust worthy aloe vera gel in her beauty line up and this is a fantastic one! This gel doesn’t have any added color which is why I like it! I use this on my face and my hair! For my face, it helps to hydrate and heal imperfections. I use it in my hair to help hydrate and lock my curl pattern making it a staple in my hair care routine! Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel I have been using this cleanser for months and it has never failed me! It foams wonderfully and has a minimal fragrance! It is reasonably priced and never makes my skin feel striped, which is always a concern with cleansing. The Hydro Boost line is one of my favorites but I am a huge fan of trying new things though, so I am testing out a different cleanser this month! DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I got this in a trial size to test it out because they’re products are so expensive! The packaging is adorable, but it’s what’s inside that counts! I honestly didn’t see a huge difference in my complexion and overall it didn’t wow me. LOVE beauty AND planet - Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower Radical Refresher Body Wash This body wash smells HEAVENLY and the packaging is adorable! However, it doesn’t leave me feeling as hydrated as I should or as other washes have! TRADER JOE'S - Nourish Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum This serum was great and inexpensive! It always leaves my face feeling super hydrated and supple! It lasted me a long time which made my really happy!
skincare routine update on accutane!
i thought i would also do an update on what products i have been using, since i just added a few a couple weeks ago! *** i do not use all of these every single day! *** night time routine: i’ll start off with the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel , which i have a love, hate relationship with. i love the way it makes my skin feel cleansed of makeup or dirt at the end of the day, but unfortunately it has fragrance, so removing my mascara definitely burns. i then wash my face with the Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser , which i also just realized has fragrance pretty low in the ingredient list, but i still am okay with using it. after cleansing, VERSED - JUST BREATHE Clarifying Serum i use this serum, which has great ingredients in it for controlling the balance of your skin, and also calming it. i just got this around a week ago, but i love how fast my skin absorbs it! after applying serum, i use the Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer , and i absolutely love this moisturizer. i use the fragrance free one (there is one with and without fragrance), and it doesn’t make my skin sting and it feels really hydrating. after this i will apply the FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry , i don’t know how much of a difference it makes but 5 stars because no fragrance and it feels great :) lastly, i will sometimes use the HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original and Invisible+ Bundle , i like how it helps protect the breakout from environmental factors, but i don’t know how much it actually helps inflammation go down. if my skin is feeling extra dry, i will use The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil , which makes my skin feel great, but i feel like it causes me to breakout around my chin area, so i don’t use it more than 3 times a week. lastly, i will sometimes use the cocokind - Turmeric stick at night and i love, love, love this. it helps with calming inflammation, brightening your skin, and is super easy to apply. my only concern is the fact that the application is stick form, so it may transfer bacteria even if your skin is clean. but other than that, it doesn’t aggravate my skin and all of their products are amazing and i love the packaging and what the company stands for!
Best makeup remover
Micellar in general is really good, it’s gentle and the one I use removes waterproof makeup. I just use a cotton round and this gets my makeup all off and even the dirt off my face. Definitely recommend. Also it’s good if you double cleanse.
GARNIER-SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover
I haven’t changed my mind about farmacybeauty green clean. It is still by far the best cleansing balm I have ever used and definitely a favourite skincare product! It’s very similar to banilaco but I find that this doesn’t feel as greasy on my skin. I also really enjoy the subtle fresh, citrusy scent 😍 anyways, look at that texture tho!
FARMACY-Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm
I love this for removing my eye/lips makeup ✨
I am transitioning to using clean products and I had heard really great things about this cleanser so I decided to it try myself. . 🌿This cleanser has a balm like texture which turns into oil when u run into ur palm, I use in mostly in pm when I wanna remove my makeup and omg this thing took all the trace of my makeup away with drying out my skin. From liquid lipstick to water proof mascara it takes them all. Also it smells incredible! ✨ . . I heard this brand has amazing products also made without all bad stuff which I don’t wanna put into ur skin.🌿 . . Have you tried this cleanser? Breaking The Myth: Glycolic Acid & Retinoids
So there’s a thing going around that you shouldn’t mix glycolic acid (AHA) with Retinol (retinoids). ✨ (I will post links to medical studies done and their proven results) ✨ I will say that I have experimented with this for a few weeks and my skin has cleared up tremendously! I just incorporated the glycolic acid but my skin has been fine. I DO NOT have: Sensitive skin Allergies ACTIVE OPEN BREAKOUTS (few minor bumps here and there) Dry Skin (I’m more combo) ”Active New Skin” (I have been using Differin Gel for 3 months Glycolic acid for 2 weeks. My skin is adjusted to actives) If you have any of those this might cause you irritation. 🚨I use this once-twice a week to treat small hyperpigmentation issues and texture irregularities.🚨 Why do professionals not recommend them together? Many professionals see that people experience irritation, sensitivity, and other issues. There’s also a concern that the PH level of glycolic acid will disrupt retinol. This research is outdated and done in a Petri dish NOT skin. There is room for irritation, which you would still experience.. using them separately! I also would not recommend if you suffer from any other issues as stated above, or to introduce everything slowly! My routine: Cleanser philosophy - Nature In A Jar Gentle Detoxifying Cleanser With Agave Amazing gentle cleanser that helps prevent inflammation. (I also recommend CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser) Tone The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Can be drying, I recommend using a hydrating cleanser. Serum: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 🚨Skip this is you’re new to this routine🚨 Treat: SKINCEUTICALS - A.G.E. Eye Complex for Dark Circles HG for dark circles! DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel HG FOR ANY ACNE ! Moisturize: nooni - Applebutter Lip Mask Leaves my lips very smooth CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin Very gentle and great for this routine Cliganic - 100% Rosehip Oil I love to mix this in as a extra layer of Vitamin A and to keep my acne at bay. I only add 2 drops to my moisturizer. Links for research: Chandrashekar, B., Ashwini, K., Vasanth, V. & Navale, S. Over-Exfoliated Skin: What To Do NextOver-exfoliation has a plethora of symptoms, ranging from redness and inflammation, tightness of the skin, dryness and flakiness, irritation bumps, rashes, breakouts, and a stinging sensation.
