Why I’ll always prefer liquid foundation over mineral powder
For years I’ve used the same MAC Face and Body Foundation. I like its dewy look and the consistency makes it easy to blend – it’s water-based and light so it always looks natural. I tend to go for a somewhat bare make-up look and I find even when I use more product, I never get full, thick coverage. I used to use a brush to apply, but a make-up artist told me to use my fingers because with this product you want to blend until it gives you a bit of resistance. I use N1 in winter (because I’m pale and I have pink undertones in my skin) and N2 in summer. I wanted to try something new, and I have friends who swear by bareMinerals – a mineral based foundation that adapts to your natural skin tone. I went for Fair 01 which is the lightest pigment. There are two options, a matte finish and a dewy finish. I chose dewy because it’s the make-up look I like, I find matte reminds me of what I wore in the early 00s (when I made a lot of fashion faux pas). I gave it a go but I only use it occasionally. It does even out the skintone, but I miss the liquid look that gives my skin moisture and makes it look more alive and youthful. I like using Bare Minerals on days when I don’t want to wear much make-up. It’s good for really hot days, because in summer liquid foundation can smudge, and if I’m going out at night I will apply powder over liquid foundation for more coverage. BareMinerals is a nice-to-have, but of the two I’ll stick by liquid.

Love the hydrated and healthy glow that all of these products give me. I know I've already raved about the Megababe, cloud paints & CoverFx blush. But Mac Face and Body is truly a holy grail. If you haven't tried this foundation yet, I 10/10 recommend Xx ❤️

MERMAID inspired makeup!🧜🏼‍♀️🌊🐚
hello everyone! today i am sharing a more wearable mermaid inspired makeup look!🧜🏼‍♀️ theres a big trend online to do mermaid inspired makeup, and although they look amazing, it would be a little weird to wear them out. this makeup i created is very intense, but its still wearable!😌 the point of the trend is to use purples, greens, and blues to emulate a mermaid. a lot people do scales on their face, but i would like this to be more wearable😊 so, heres how i got this look! dont forget to follow and cheer for more! i started with my e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer as normal. then, i applied my Juvia's PLACE - I am Magic Velvety Matte Foundation in alexandria. this foundation is great for people like me who have very pale/very dark skin and oily skin!☺️ i used my e.l.f. - 16HR Camo Concealer under the eyes as normal, and set with my e.l.f. - Perfect Finish HD Powder as normal. i dusted my COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Powder Blush in “whole nine yards” as usual, just to add some color to my face. then comes the fun part-the eyes! 👁 i used my PLOUISE - Base Shade in “1” as an eyeshadow base. without eyeshadow base, your eyeshadow will crease and not look as bright! i then started my eye shadow with a light lilac shade from colourpop called “heiress” above my crease. i deeped it with a darker purple called “try me”. both of these are COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow !😃 i then used one of my all time favorite palettes, and an essential to this look- COLOURPOP - Blue Moon Shadow Palette 🌙. this palette is SOO pigmented and beautiful! i used the shade intense blue “fine china” on my outer corner, and put “tide pool” on my outer corner to add shimmer. i used “lumi” as a highlighter on my cheek and brow bone. lumi is the most beautiful, iridescent eyeshadow i have EVER used!😍 i used the mint blue shade “haze” from the HUDA BEAUTY - Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette on my lower lash line, and COLOURPOP - Crème Gel Liner in “ice breaker” in my water line. the most essential part to this look in my opinion was the COLOURPOP - Colourpop Glitter Gel in “disco lady”! this glitter is a stunning, reflective “pastel rainbow” glitter! it looks a bit like scales and added so much to this look! i put it on my lid and in my inner corner. i finished off with my all time favorite L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Original Mascara and then added a pop to my lips using MILANI - Ludicrous Lip Gloss in “beaming light” to add an amazing blue shine to my lips! u can see it alot better in person🙂 and viola! im casually a mermaid😎 lemme know what you think of this look and if you would wear it!💖 #CheriePartner

expressive eye makeup💖
hello everyone! sorry i havent been posting much lately, ive had a very ruff week. but today i decided to share a really colorful and expressive eye makeup look!😊 its hard to make cool eyeshadow looks sometimes, because i have very hooded eyes. its hard to tell in my pictures, but when i look straight foward my crease touches my lash line. thats why i like to do “all over the lid” looks like this. my hood hides glitter sometimes, so this is a better way of of incorporating glitter in my opinion. these shadows will stand out great on most skin, but especially pale skin like mine because its such a stark contrast. because it stands out against my skin, it also draws attention to the eye area. 😊 i started off with the PLOUISE - Base Shade in shade 1 as a eye shadow primer. this helps eyemakeup MUCH longer and appear much brighter then, i went in with the COLOURPOP - Miss Bliss Shadow Palette palette. i used the soft pink shade “loves it” on the outer part of my eye. i used the orange shade “optimist” in the middle, then i used a single yellow shadow from colourpop called “tiki” on the inner part of my eye. COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow these shadows are great, but i wanted a more intense, neon look. MORPHE - 35O3 Fierce By Nature Artistry Palette . i wanted a more intense look, so i used the hot pink shade from this palette to make it even brighter. i used the neon orange shade as well😌 after that, i went back in with the miss bliss palette and applied the glitter “law of attraction” all over my lid. the cool thing about white glitters is that you cant see them unless theyre hitting the light. its almost like a little surprise!💖 i then applied a COLOURPOP - Colourpop Glitter Gel called “glam rock” in the inner corner. this lasts a long time, but i would recommend using a glitter glue for this. i forgot to use one for this look, but i like the NYX one!😊 after that, i used another colourpop single shadow called “star child” on my lower lashline to add a pop of purple! i finished with my e.l.f. - Intense Ink Eyeliner . this stuff lasts pretty long and is pretty easy to use too! its a standard black liner with a felt tip. and finally, i finish with my all time fav L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Original Mascara . this stuff NEVER clumps or falls on your cheeks, and will last ALL DAY! it truly works wonder! i know this look was... colorful😂 but i wanted to do something fun, since were all stuck at home anyways. this is not something i would wear to work, but i would wear this out because i like to express myself😊 lemme know what bright colors you would like me to try next! dont forget to follow and cheer😊😊 #CheriePartner

Is Glitter Primer Worth It?
TLDR: YES glitter primer is worth it Some people choose not to use actual eye primer. I personally do on a daily basis - the MILANI - MILANI Eyeshadow Primer . Some choose to use concealer, and if that works for you, that’s awesome. So why would you need a glitter primer, especially if you aren’t someone who wears glitter? Keep reading! I own the NYX - Glitter Primer . It’s affordable (approx. $7), cruelty-free, and widely available. I have a large eyeshadow palette collection. Some of my palettes are a few years old (like my tarte - Maneater Eyeshadow Palette V2 - mine is original version which you can’t get anymore but v2 contains same shades) and the shimmers don’t perform as well. You can use a glitter primer to amp up the intensity of lackluster shimmers! I swatched the shade “foxy” on dry skin w/ no primer, over the Milani primer, and over the NYX glitter primer. The swatch with the glitter primer is more shimmery and the shadow looks like how it used to 3-4 years ago. The glitter primer also holds onto shadow much better and will increase wear time. Glitter primer is great for, you guessed it, glitter. Now, admittedly I own a few COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Glitter and will flat out warn you they’re not technically eye safe. I regret buying a bunch of them but that’s a story for a different time. I have used the glitter glue to adhere these glitters to my eyes and I experience almost 0 fall-out. That’s incredible! The glitter primer can also be used on your body if you’re into body glitter. By the way, the shade I’m showing is the shade “fyre” - a gorgeous green. You can see in the swatches the glitter primer makes the glitter much more opaque and it adheres to the skin significantly better. I recommend looking for eye safe glitter. The NYX’s texture is quite tacky, so be sure to finish applying any other matte shadows before using this because it will be difficult to blend on top. I use this glitter glue most often for my older shimmer shadows. It’s also great for this of us with hooded eyes (raises hand) that experience a ton of shimmer transfer into the crease. It won’t completely stop the transfer, but it definitely helps. I fully recommend adding a glitter primer to your primer collection. At this price point, it’s a steal for the quality! #CheriePartner

ColourPop Pressed Glitters ($5 each) Colourpop released these 8 pressed glitters as part of their Festival Collection! Make sure to swipe left for lots of sexy macros! The pressed glitters retail for $5 each😁 These are formulated with some type of adhesive so they stick to the skin pretty well on their own but if you're using them on your eyeballs, I'd use a glitter glue anyway. Just to protect your eyes from any potential fallout. I posted lots of full swatches when these were first released two weeks ago but I had to hit you with the close ups!

Instant weight loss by collarbone contouring 🤔
You know how we girls sometimes can go out of our way to make us look better. And one extra step I would bother to take when doing makeup in summer is to contouring my collarbones to make them pop and more emphasized, especially when I am wearing crop tops. I mean, when these extra lines and blending can make us look in better shape, there is no loss in learning these tricks, right? I’ve prepared a breakdown of this technique and it’s really easy, now let’s see. · Products you need: ◇ a bronzer product that is pretty deeper than your skin tone ◇ a highlighter ◇ eyeshadows glitters (optional) · Products I used: ◇ Single eyeshadow in the shade “omega” from MAC ◇ Liquid highlighter in the shade “champagne pop” from Becca ◇ Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in the shade “diamond dust” from Stila · Steps and tips: ◇ Use a lotion to moisturize the areas you are going to contour. It’s like you would apply a primer to make your makeup lasts longer and looks better. ◇ Push your shoulders and brush the lines above and underneath your collarbones with the bronzer product of your choice. It’s okay if there are harsh lines and make sure you repeat several times so it will actually make a difference. ◇ Use a beauty blender to blend the bronzer and make it look natural. ◇ Apply the liquid highlighter right on the collarbones. ◇ Dab some glitters from any of your eyeshadows to add some subtle shines. They will look especially great under the sunlight. I personally find the glitter eyeshadow from stila a perfect choice at this step. ◇ You can use a setting spray to set if you worry it would smudge. So here are the steps to create a finely drawn glowy collarbones contouring. Hope it would help you and let me know the results in the comments if you try this out!

How to contour a round face: here’s my secret😬
Being a round face, I kinda enjoy people’s compliments of how I usually look cute and young. But it is an obstacle when I wanna try out some mature and sexy style. So at this time, contouring powders and technique are there to help me out. Today I want to share with you how I usually contour my round face to make it appear a little longer and slimmer. These are my tricks to adding definition of my face features. · What I will use: ◇ Bronzer: hoola from Benefit ◇ Highlighter: liquid highlighter in the shade “Champagne pop” from Becca ◇ Blush: Blush Bouquet Dual Blush Palette in the shade “Adore” from Jouer Cosmetics · Steps of contouring the face: 1. The first step is to emphasize your cheekbones since I believe most round-face girls are bothered by soft and rounded features on their faces. To achieve that, you want to first suck in your cheeks in the mirror to find the right area to start applying the bronzer powder with the brush it comes with. 2. Another place to use bronzer is where around your temples. Narrowing these two sides will make your face visually slimmer. Just use your brush to draw a “C” shape on both sides. 3. Next, use you finger to apply the liquid highlighter in three areas: under-eye area, the middle part of your forehead and also your chin. 4. And here comes the blush: use the blush to connect the areas of bronzer and highlighter and make sure they are blended out in a natural way. It would be a good idea to dab a little of the product on your chin. 5. Finally, it would be better if you could use a large face powder brush to blend all the products on your face to make sure there are no clear boundaries. · Some more tips: As you can see from my swatch, my chosen products are rather in the same undertone of golden and yellowish color. In this way they look more harmonious when used together. If you somehow use too much product, you could always save it by applying enough face powder to blend!

liquid vs solid highlighters✨✨
hello everyone! today i am comparing two similar face/body highlighters with two different consistencies! these are both great products but they do have different purposes. to start, the liquid glow oil from sol body in the shade “platinum” is a beautiful light gold shimmer. this color is best for pale people, but they make glow oils in many different colors. you can use it for your face, even though it works better on your body. the shimmers are very fine yet very sparkly, and the catch the sunlight. its like a very fine glitter. its very easy to spread around, but can rub off on clothes easier than the powder ones✨ the powder highlighter is equally stunning. its also a white- gold shade thats better for pale people. it looks “wet” on the skin, and lasts longer but is harder to spread. either way, both highlighters are beautiful, though powder is easier to use on the face! lemme know what you think and dont forget to follow and cheer!❤️ SOL BODY - SOL Glow Oil e.l.f. - Retro Paradise Multi-Dimensional Face & Body Shimmer

aesthetic succulent and garden collection!🌵🍇🌹
hello everyone! today i am showcasing an amazing collection from colourpop! yall probably think i work for them by now because of how much i post about them, but im just a huge fan of color, themes, packaging, glitter and shimmer shades, and affordability!😊💖 so this collection is $135. BUT, it comes with 19 items total! it has 4 pressed powder blushes, 4 jelly much shadows, 4 lux lip oils, a palette, a sol body glow oil, 2 fourth ray beauty facial sprays, and three scrunchies!!😍 lets start with the palette! the palette is really gorgeous and all the colors i have played with so far i have really loved!🌸 i have done many looks with it and ive found it very versatile. if you are more a natural person, it works great, and if you like glam and creativity like me, this is also for you! unfortunately, im unsure of how this would work for darker skin tones. if you have deeper skin and love more natural and light makeup, then you might like this! but if you like glam and have deeper skin, i would recommend the all that palette, the mulan palette, the disney palettes, and the bare necessities palette! they are all by colourpop:) now to the blushes! so these blushes are really great! they’re actually super pigmented and look amazing. i especially love the purple one! ive never had a purple blush so its new to me🦄 these blushes also have shimmer so the lip oils feel amazing, but they have almost no color unless you apply A LOT. they are really nourishing, but you can barely see any color. i was kinda disappointed because i was looking foward to the purple one especially. i feel like it they made them much darker it would have shown up better! the jelly much shadows are a win, though. they’re really pigmented and are very... jelly like😂. they apply with a glittery finish, and the one called “sage bundle” has a blue shift to it! apply these with care, because they dont really blend and are meant as a lid topper. the glow oil is one of my favorite products! this one is a little dark, but it doesnt change my skin color too much. it has beautiful gold glitters in it and i feel like a million bucks wearing it✨ the facial sprays... i dont know if they do anything 😂 obviously skin care products take a while to work. one of the sprays has shimmer in it that kinda makes my skin glow... so😂 the scruncies are really nice! they are velvety and nice and big, which is great because i have super thick hair! so thats it! lemme know if you will be buying anything from this collection and dont forget to follow and cheer! follow my insta @aesthetemilyy #CheriePartner COLOURPOP - Garden Variety Eyeshadow Palette COLOURPOP - Jelly Much Shadow COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Powder Blush COLOURPOP - Lux Lip Oil Fourth Ray - Misty Morning Face Mist Mini Kit SOL BODY - SOL Glow Oil

Featuring some favourites.

🖤
Featuring some favourites. 🖤 sol de janeiro - Glowmotions - Goldie Rocks. - I have been loving this to give my fair skin a much needed glow. It absorbs really fast as well and isn’t greasy or stains clothes. 🖤 sisley - Double Tenseur. - This is a gorgeous hydrating primer which leaves a sticky layer that makes it perfect for grabbing into foundation and keeping it in place all day. . 🖤 the ouai - Leave In Conditioner. - I love spritzing this in and letting my hair air dry. It just softens and conditions and detangles without weighing hair down. . 🖤 the ouai - Dry Texture Foam. - Having very fine hair this just gives volume without weighing my hair down and helps curls stay in a little longer too. 🖤 drunk elephant - Marula Oil. - I could put a whole bottle of this on mg face and never look greasy. It absorbs so fast and gives the most gorgeous glow. You’ve been hiding under a rock if you don’t know this is my favourite 🤣 I’ve went through 3 of these this year already. 🖤 marc jacobs - Coconut Perfecting Powder. - Love this but don’t use it as often because it’s a little dark for my skin tone so I’ll use foundations that are too light and this darkens them. It’s quite hydrating for a powder which seems weird to say. . 🖤 marc jacobs - Coconut Eye Primer. - This keeps eyeshadow in place all day long. Only a tiny amount is needed which I learned after using too much. It has a slight ting with neutralises veins and redness.🤣 . What I’m wanting to get is the ouai oil and scalp scrub, I wish I picked them up when I bought everything else and I’m trying so hard not to break my no buy.

EASY zoom glam!
EASY zoom glam!
hello everyone! today i am sharing with you all what i do to look good on a zoom call! personally, im not a fan of natural makeup. i get the point and i know its trendy, but i am actually an artist on the side and love to be artistic with makeup too. i would rather stand out than fit in! but, i know that glam can be hard, so i made this look a pretty easily achievable one. this took me about 20 minutes, which isnt very long since were all staying at home! i dont use zoom for work, but i have for college. i think this makeup would work for work if you didnt use such a bright lipstick. but, because im a college student, i can have fun with makeup and not worry about pointless professionalism. 😊 also, cameras and computers can sometimes wash you out and make your eyes look smaller, so i think intense eye makeup helps your eyes look bigger and brighter✨☺️ so, here are the products and tips for easy zoom glam! face: i used SOAP & GLORY - The Fab Pore 3-In-1 Oil Control Serum because it blurs the skin, but use whatever is best for your skin type. i personally have excessively oily skin and this works well for me! COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Tinted Moisturizer this keeps your skin looking like skin while hiding redness! i am using the shade fair 2w e.l.f. - 16HR Camo Concealer i use a matte concealer under the eyes and on my fore head to help mattify my skin e.l.f. - High Definition Powder i use this to set and make my skin super matte ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - ANASTASIA Beverly Hills Powder Bronzer i use this in the shade cappuccino to help warm my skin COLOURPOP - Colourpop Pressed Powder Blush i use a dark pink blush called “whole nine yards” to make sure i dont look washed out on camera! e.l.f. - Retro Paradise Multi-Dimensional Face & Body Shimmer i use this to make myself glow!✨ eyes: PLOUISE - Base Shade i love this! its a really great eye primer that prevents creasing and also covers the veins in your eye lids. it also makes eyeshadow stand out more! HUDA BEAUTY - Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette i dont think ill EVER get over how amazing this palette is! you can do many things with it. i used the browns and a pearlized gold shade to make my eyes stand out and look huge! L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara this mascara really does lift your lashes and make them look long, but its a little clumpy:( lips: Lime Crime - Velvetines Liquid Lipstick this lip stick is absolutely stunning and so pigmented! it looks so metallic too. i used this to add a pop of color to this look and really make me stand out. a bold lip will always make you look glam! my only complaint about this is that its very dry dont forget to follow and cheer! 😊 #CheriePartner

My Favorite Foundations ✨💖 (glowy & natural)
My Favorite Foundations ✨💖 (glowy & natural)
I have normal to combination skin. So for most of the year I have normal skin but when I’m somewhere more humid and hot during the summer months (like Hong Kong or NYC summers!) I can get a little shiny in the T-zone. What I look for in a foundation is one that won’t mask my skin- a solid medium coverage foundation is probably is highest coverage I’d go for. I like something lightweight and buildable on the skin! In terms of finish, I like a satin finish for the hotter months and something more hydrating and dewy for the drier months. In no particular order, here is my foundation collection (AKA all the foundations I love): MAC - MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation in C2 This is a serumy foundation that feels lightweight and provides light coverage, at first, but when you work it more into the skin, the coverage magically builds up! It’s so hard to describe but it actually happens on the skin! This is great for a natural finish on the skin. MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in Y245 This is great all-rounded foundation. It’s medium coverage but feels super lightweight on the skin and looks just like skin! It has a huge range of shades based on undertones which I really appreciate. This also looks amazing in photos and videos! MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Perfector Skin Tint Foundation SPF 25 This is like the little sister of the Ultra HD Foundation. It’s less coverage and acts like a tinted moisturizer. I love this for most days because it evens out the skin really well and looks super natural. It’s also the most lightweight feeling of my collection! ARMANI beauty - Luminous Silk Foundation in 4 This is probably has the highest coverage of the bunch but still looks so natural on the skin. It’s never cakey! It dries down to a satin finish so I never feel the need to set it but I just love how flawless it makes my skin look. This is my go-to for night outs when I want my face to look flawless and smooth. Kosas - Tinted Face Oil Foundation in 4 This foundation has the most unique formula I’ve tried. It’s an oil-based foundation and comes in a shaker bottle. When you pour it out, it’s super runny but smooths onto the skin like a serum. It’s super thin feeling but honestly gives a lot of coverage. It’s super glowy and dewy so I would definitely set my face after using it. I tend to reach for it during winter the most because my face can alwats use more of that glow. It makes your skin look smooth and flawless.
