100 uses and then it’s obsolete. I don’t know how I feel about that. Quite frankly, I think one of the cvs knockoffs might be a better option, considering the price (it’s about $40 bucks a pop) I do like it better than my brush, it feels gentle enough not to scratch but fire enough to get dirt out. There are knock offs that will do the trick and not hurt your pocket as much 🤑😘
Exfoliation is an essential step in your beauty routine to maintain that healthy glow, improve skin texture and tone, and prevent breakouts. Basically what it does is remove dead cells so they can be replaced by new ones. This process allows products to penetrate better and instantly restores luminosity by forcing cell renewal. A physical exfoliation is a product or tool that requires rubbing or scrubbing action. This includes brushes, sponges and skincare scrubs (it has small particles like salt grains, sugar, jojoba beads ...). This type of exfoliation removes dead skin cells from the top layer using physical friction. This type of exfoliation is preferred by many because you see an immediate result: smooth, radiant and healthy skin. Physical exfoliation causes less irritation than chemical exfoliation. It’s an excellent choice for oily skin and large pores as they tend to have thicker skin and are more tolerant of abrasive particles. My favorites: FOREO - LUNA play plus although many people are against these types of brushes, the truth is that I did see a major change when I started using it. I felt the skin softer and cleaner. Skin to You - Rated X-foliate Facial Scrub is one of my faves, doesn’t irritate and leaves skin clean and fresh. Chemical exfoliation work to break the bonds between skin cells, loosening dead skin cells so it can be easy removed. They generally have a smooth texture and penetrate deeper into the skin. The most common are Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) and fruit enzymes. AHAs Derived from substances such as grapes, citrus, milk and sugar cane, they dissolve keratin protein bonds that hold dead skin cells together. Once the bond is broken, the dead cells break off. The best known are glycolic and lactic acid. They are water soluble chemicals with low molecular structure, they act on the surface of the skin and help hydrate it, making them good for dry skin. Excellent for sun damage, hyperpigmentation, skin texture and wrinkles. It’s important to note that are photosensitive to the sun, so it is important to use a good sunscreen. BHAs They are lipid soluble, which makes them capable of penetrating deep into the pores, dissolving the accumulated dirt/oil. They are ideal for oily skin, acne prone and sun damaged skin. Salicylic acid has anti-irritant and antimicrobial properties that help prevent new breakouts. Enzymatic exfoliants are another type of chemical exfoliant and work best on sensitive skin. They are derived from fruits such as papaya (Papain) and pineapple 🍍 (Bromelain), which dissolve and digest keratin into small particles, leaving the skin smoother. They are a good option to start exfoliating since they work on the skin's surface and slowly digest cellular accumulation. My favorites: HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub gentle scrub that combines the 3 types of chemical exfoliators. It doesn’t irritate or damage the skin, it leaves the skin clean and radiant. CLINIQUE - Pep Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser in its indications it says that it can be used daily, its very soft and leaves the skin clean. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This one is a little more abrasive, but you get good results from the first application. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask its more gentle than the previous one and it also gives good results from the first application. I have combination skin, acne prone and generally I use physical exfoliators 2-3 times a week and chemical every 15 days or when I feel I need something stronger. The main reasons for using exfoliation is to prevent acne and improve skin tone and texture. Tip The minimum you should exfoliate is once a week (dry skin) and maximum 3 times a week (oily skin). The exfoliation should always be gentle and never abrasive. If you have severe acne, see your dermatologist first. Don’t do it if you have wounds or cuts. If you are taking medications or using prescription products (retinol), exfoliation may cause dryness, sensitivity and acne breakouts.

Is Luxury Skincare Worth It? *discussion*
Please add your thoughts in the comments below! I want this to be an open discussion because our skin types and experiences are all so different. To begin: my skin type is combination sensitive dry with an oily nose and chin *and* I am prone to rosacea flare ups. Please keep this in mind when reading... Is luxury skincare worth it? Luxury can mean different things to different people—generally, luxury to me means that it costs over $40-50. It’s not really defined by designer names or anything like that. For me it’s difficult to justify spending tons of money on products without being able to test run them first...because there is no guarantee that the product will work for you and if you have to return it, it can be bad for the environment. Here are my thoughts on some luxury skincare I own: Allies of Skin Triple Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Allies of Skin - Triple Hyaluronic Antioxidant Hydration Serum First off, I won this in a giveaway—you WILL NOT catch me paying $72 for a skincare product ever. Second, I had heard rave reviews on this for a long time and was excited to try it. However, it just burned my skin and disrupted my skin barrier. It’s a thick serum and the fragrance is SO sickeningly sweet it kind of makes me nauseous. The brand said they are working on a version without fragrance but idk if I would try it since I had such a bad reaction to this one. It contains fruit acids as well which confuses me since it’s supposed to be hydrating. I used it after cleansing but before moisturizing. I can’t recommend this to anyone with sensitive or dry skin. mxt - custom mixed serum for me. #mxt - Custom Mixed Serum[products]#[FiveStars] I won this in a giveaway as well, however I have very different feelings on it. This serum cost was $56 after my customizations, which is expensive for about 1oz of product. HOWEVER, mxt takes you through a skin quiz and custom mixes your products based on your skin concerns. The fact that it is mixed for you makes it worthwhile to me—it’s not like they are just selling the same mixed product to everyone—it’s just for you. Also, the bottle customization is very cute. My custom serum has a light scent (but no fragrance ingredients) but is very lightweight. I use it after cleansing and toning but before moisturizing. I highly recommend trying this brand out at least once. I WILL be repurchasing this once it runs out! BONUS: TOOL - FOREO Products. FOREO - LUNA 3 for Sensitive Skin- I purchased this with a gift card gifted to me—it costs $300 😱. I have yet to try it, but right now I use the FOREO - LUNA fofo on days when I need a little extra exfoliation on my skin without using a scrub or damaging my skin. I absolutely love FOREO products—they are silicone so they are anti-microbial and gentle enough for sensitive skin. Highly recommend to everyone!! What are your thoughts on luxury products? #CheriePartner
Favorite parts of my day!
Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash You know those people that love getting up in the morning and have all this energy? I’m not one of those people. I’m no where near being a morning person. When I finally convince myself to get out of bed I go straight to wash my face. I like to use cold water when washing my face with this product in the morning because combining that with this face scrub is the easiest way for me to completely wake up. Lots of face washes have irritated my sensitive skin but this one hasn’t and it makes me glad that I’m not trying to find which one works for me anymore because this one does. Use a moisturizer after product use. Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash I have really bad insomnia and it can be really hard for me to fall asleep , even if I take some melatonin my body just won’t relax. But when I use this nighttime face wash before I go to bed or when I take a shower at night it gets me sleepy instantly. Going to bed with my face feeling soft and nice it the best way to fall asleep. Only thing though is I recommend using a moisturizer after using product. FOREO - LUNA fofo I used to just use my hands to rub in my face washes. Rub in circles rub in circles, but it didn’t do much for me when I was really wanting to exfoliate my skin. When I got this product I was a little scriptural at first thinking how does it know what routine my skin will need? I downloaded the app on my phone and tried it the night I got it. I had a hard time setting it up so I watched a few YouTube videos but once I knew what to do I started right away. This device is Bluetooth and connects to your app when you’re using it. The little skin censors on the back help the device understand what kind of hydration your skin has , and what kind of care it’s in. It scans your cheeks , nose , and forehead. After the scanning is done it programs the amount of time you use the product on that part of your face, and the intensity of the vibration will change depending on different parts of your face and what your skin needs. This product has helped my skin so much especially when I need my face to be exfoliated at the end of a long day. It scrubs away all the makeup and dirt I may have missed with just using a makeup wipe. Overall just love this product and it’s so cute and small it’s super easy to bring on trips because it just fits right into a bag with my face washes. You can use any face wash you want for this product which is what I like about it too. Highly recommend trying this one out

Mount Lai vs. Herbivore Rollers
Okay, yes, it is a little crazy that I have two different jade rollers, but I have a good reason! I had the herbivore roller first and dropped it one day, it kind of broke and started making a squeaky sound when I used it. So, my husband surprised me with the Mount Lai version after researching rollers online! How sweet! Anyway, I figured I would try to compare the two for a review, but, honestly, they are pretty much on par with one another. The cost is almost the same (Herbivore $30, Mount Lai $34) and they both work very well. I will say I like the way the Herbivore tool looks a lot more than the Mount Lai. The Herbivore roller is a darker green with gold detailing that I find prettier. On the other side, I find the Mount Lai tool feels a little bit colder when you use it. So, I definitely like that! Long story short: If you’re looking for a jade roller, you can’t go wrong with either of these! MOUNT LAI - The Jade Textured Facial Roller HERBIVORE - Jade De-Puffing Face Roller
Beauty Fridge First Impressions
First off, is a beauty fridge necessary? No, of course not. It’s sort of an extra item that can preserve your products better and make your skin feel refreshed and depuffed when you put them on. I ordered this one at bed bath and beyond and they have it in this sweet pink colour and in baby blue as well. It’s just a little 4L fridge and it comes with a little shelf inside as well as one on the door. My essence and drunk elephant serums were too tall to keep the cute little shelf in but maybe someday I can keep in there if I have shorter products. My first impressions are pretty good. These little fridges themselves come with car plug ins as well and go hot or cold so you can use them for other things like food and drink. When I put my skincare on tonight after having it chill in the fridge it felt so nice. It was really refreshing on the skin and the jade roller was next level when actually chilled. Even if you don’t get a little mini fridge I’d recommend storing the jade roller in your regular fridge to use. Would I recommend if you want to splurge based on these first impressions? definitely. If not, then maybe it’s not worth it for you. You decide!

Invest in good skin care products! AsLA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 AOX Daily Antioxidant Face Serum SPF 50 August 06, 2020 Excellent Product Should be more than 5 Stars!! This serum + sunscreen (great bonus!!) goes on smooth and stays nice feeling all day. If my skin, especially around my eyes, starts to feel dry during the day I will lightly pat this around my lower eyes. Stays moist and smooth feeling all day. Love this product! Won't be without it.LA ROCHE-POSAY - Pigmentclar Brightening Deep Cleanser I just picked up this foaming brightening cream and so far so good. I feel with age my skin has definitely lost a lot of its luster. So I’m always happy to try creams/serums- whatever it may be- that help with uneven skin tone. With the first washing my skin already feels softer. If you like cleaning creams or any kind of creams for the matter that are sudsy, then this product is for you.LA ROCHE-POSAY - Pure Vitamin C Face Serum I LOVE this product- I use it primarily on my upper lip line area, both in the morning and evening, and at age 45 VICHY - LiftActiv Serum 10 Supreme With Hyaluronic Acid I have no visible lip lines. The skin on upper lip is very thin, like under eyes, so I decided years ago to use a great eye cream with anti-aging ingredients on the upper lip line, and found this product to do what it actually professes to do, moisturize w/important vitamin c properties, to lessen likelihood of drying. I 100% recommend!clarisonic - Mia Prima Facial Cleansing & Pore Minimizing Skincare Device I love this facial brush!!! After buying a couple of cheap facial brushes, which all broke I finally decided to invest in the best and am so glad that I did. As a SAHM it’s hard to find time for myself and using this brush is like a little spa day. It is gentle enough that I know it’s not damaging my skin but it’s strong enough because my skin feels and looks incredibly clean after I use it. I have oily skin with large pores and my nose/chin area tend to break out. It was easy to sync the facial brush to the Clarisonic app and create a personalized skin care routine. I use the MIA twice a day and it has made a huge difference. I am so excited to buy additional brushes and attachments to make my at home spa day even better. While the cost of the facial brush, additional brushes and attachments are a little high they are absolutely worth it. I am beyond excited to see what my skin looks like after using this brush for over a year. If your on the fence about this brush I highly suggest buying it, you and your skin will love it!MARIO BADESCU - Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea I love this spray ! I personally think it's a dupe to the tatcha spray probably even better. I have dry skin and let's just say I spray this after moisturizing/face priming literally locks in the moisture. The best quick fix :)
Cerave Product reviews ✨
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share my feedback about two products from Cerave that I’ve recently encore rated into my skin care routine. Mid you be seen my previous posts, you’ll know I’ve been working on getting my fungal acne under control. I bought the CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum to replace LANEIGE - Water Bank Hydro Essence . The only reason I didn’t buy the Laneige product again is because I ran out (because of the bottle you can’t really see how much is left) and I needed a replacement ASAP. CeraVe - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum lightweight serum sensitive skin friendly has no smell The only reason I would say it’s not as good as the Laneige product is texture, not even because the cerave one has a bad texture. It’s just not as luxurious as Laneige. I also started using CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser now this is a huge discovery for me. Salysilic acid had already made a huge difference for my skin in clearing up my acne. This take it to the next level especially when I also combine this with using my clarisonic - Mia Prima Facial Cleansing & Pore Minimizing Skincare Device . Over all I would recommend these products. I don’t regret buying any of them and will most likely is not WILL buy again. 💖💖

Why I chose the Foreo Luna Mini 2 😍😍😍
I was looking for a birthday gift for a friend but wanted to get something that was special and can be used daily. Along came FOREO - LUNA mini 2 The reviews has been amazing so I thought why not treat myself too and do a review 😊 My initial impression was Wow 🤩 to how soft the silicone felt on my sensitive skin. The back of the device is a thicker brush for those who have oily skin and the precision tip is awesome for the T Zones. The awesome features for this device are: - your NEVER need to buy replacement brush heads - it’s WATERPROOF so you can take it in the shower with you. - it flashes every 15 seconds to let you know when to move to the next section of your face. - it’s only a 1 minute clean and it leaves your skin feeling squeeky clean. - 1 charge and you don’t need to charge again for the next 300 uses Ps: My friend loved her birthday gift - it was a gift that keeps on giving lol 🥳🥳🥳 Oh one more thing this device had 8 levels of vibration. I personally could not handle the strong vibration so I had it on the lowest setting.
FOREO - LUNA mini 2FOREO - LUNA mini 2clarisonic - Mia Prima Facial Cleansing & Pore Minimizing Skincare DeviceNU SKIN - AgeLOC LumiSpa Essential Kit femooi - Ada Pro™ Facial CleanserI has Combination skin( most time is oily) plus i always have make up every day. i was try another brand clean Machine, it works, but also it make my skin become more Sensitive and not really clean I have used several cleansing tools before, the first was Clarisonic mia2. I have to change heads every three months, the effect of removing blackheads is not significant. The I bought Luna, which is a high-effective cleanser but can not use it very often. It is heart to be harm to the skin. Femooi is a gentle cleansing tool, the main effect is to smooth the skin and message it. My favorite is the last one, Lumispa, I use it twice a day, in the morning and before bed. It really did help my skin.. went from grey and pail to skin that looks alive and glows. My blackheads and some other dirts in my pores are definitely removed. After washing face by this machine, using minimizing-pore toners and the blackheads are all gone.

Skin Journey: Clarisonic Mia Smart and More
Lord thank you for Afterpay. Amen. Truly my exact thoughts when I bought this little number. Fa$t Facts: I have combo-oily skin. Depends on the season, really. I have some strong hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. I have been breaking out mainly on my jawline and a tiny bit on my forehead. I believe this is due to me having oily skin and it being so hot prompting masckne (mask acne) and also maybe some stress😫 I’m recreating my entire skin routine. Starting fresh baby! For over a year I have just been using African Black Soap with my African Sponge on my skin in combination with Shea butter. My skin was doing ok but what I noticed the most were my pores. They. Are. Huge. I hate them! I mean I love my face but I hate my pores! Also, my skin is highly textured and my hyperpigmentation has persisted. I bought this set because I wanted to tackle everything! I turned 25 last September and I honestly have just been waiting to start incorporating anti-aging products and devices into my skincare routine. This set comes with five parts. Mia Smart (actual device) Daily Brush Head (attachment) Sonic Exfoliator (attachment) Sonic Awakening Eye Massager (attachment) 3D Face Sculptor (attachment) I am only going to review the Mia Smart and the Daily Brush Head. As I purchase a few more products needed to complete my skincare routine I will review the other attachments. I love using this device. I feel that it gets my face clean and the Smart feature is super cool. The difference between the Clarisonic Mia Smart and Clarisonic Mia is the “Smart” device can sync with the Clarisonic App on your phone via Bluetooth. From here the device gets pretty cool. Upon downloading the app you are encouraged to give some information about your skin. You have the option of setting up a routine customized just for you regarding your skin needs. Peep the pics I included from the app! I’ll be honest. I don’t really use the Smart feature all that much regarding this attachment specifically. I may utilize it more with the other attachments! I just didn’t find it necessary with general face cleansing. I love how the device has the option of just a regular, automated cleanse. It has a set time of I believe 60 seconds before it stops but you’re more than welcome to press again and cleanse some more. Also! It’s waterproof so I always take it in the shower with me! The attachment head itself is also great to use. I don’t find it rough at all. I have heard and read reviews about people finding this brush abrasive and I can honestly say that is not the case for me. In fact, I often find myself pressing down because I feel I’m not cleaning well enough lol! Trying to stop that though! I have been using it for both my regular cleanser and my exfoliating cleanser for around three weeks and my skin feels great! I can’t wait to start in on the other attachments too!
clarisonic, is it worth it?
for my whole life i used my hands to wash my face, which honestly does the job. however, i always found myself breaking out and wanted a solution. i was given this cleansing brush as a gift for christmas, and have been using it ever since. it really helps get my cleanser see into my pores to clean out any extra unneeded oils. it also gently exfoliates the skin, leaving it ready for any products i want to apply after. definitely would recommend. clarisonic - Mia Smart Anti-Aging and Cleansing Skincare Device clarisonic - Sensitive Skin Cleansing Brush Head

Professional Exfoliation At Home And On A Budget!
Our skin renews itself spontaneously every 28 days or so when the dead cells are naturally shed from the outer layer of our skin. These dead cells are replaced by new cells in perfect condition. However, in times of stress and fatigue, this renewal takes longer. As a result, our skin begins to show signs of dryness and poor oxygenation. When dead cells are not properly replaced, tour skin looks dull and aged. That's why it's vital to complement the cleaning, moisturizing and protection of our facial skin with a weekly exfoliation. That is, to help the natural process of the skin along with some special product that removes the dead cells easier to give way to a complete cellular renovation of the dermis. This way, exfoliation ensures effective regeneration by allowing the skin to be ready to absorb the nutrients and active ingredients of moisturizing and rejuvenating products. It also stimulates cellular oxygenation. It took me some years to learn all this after I started doing a basic skin care routine. I have a combination skin that tends to lean more on the oily side, I get pimples from time to time but I think my biggest concern are blackheads on my nose and surrounding area, so exfoliating 1-2 times a week is important for me to prevent more pore clogging, else they can turn into more blackheads. Exfoliation can be done in two ways, either mechanical, which is done with the help of tools, or chemical, with the help of products that you apply on your face. I’ve tried both and honestly, although I’ve found good products my favorite is still the mechanical exfoliation, it feels like you have more control over it. I’ll share with you my all-time favorite tool. • Neutrogena - Microdermabrasion System I decided to try this exfoliating system mainly because of all the hype microdermabrasion started getting and it was an affordable option with good reviews, it consists of a machine that works with battery that has replaceable exfoliating pads that you can easily change. You can use each pad 2 times before you change to a new one. These pads are pre-dosed with crystals and purifiers that activate when they are in contact with water, that’s why you should massage your skin with this machine when it’s still wet. The vibrations in circular motion then remove all the dead skin, it has 2 different speeds (low and high), it feels like a professional microdermabrasion but at home and super easy to do. At the end just wash away all the foam and dead skin. I love this because it truly feels like I have a new layer of skin, it feels smooth and after constant use it reduces fine wrinkles too, so it’s a win win situation. If you ever run of pads, don’t worry, because you can always refill them, since they are sold separately as well! An important tip is to not exfoliate your skin more than twice a week, because if you do it you can irritate and damage your skin, it’s like you are removing the outer layer of your skin, leaving it exposed to harmful environment agents or even infections.
A microdermabrasion system by neutrogena that gently exfoliating skin for more luminous skin today and firmer, younger-looking skin over time delivers noticeable improvement in signs of aging every time you use it. Each single use puff is pre-dosed with ultra-fine crystals and mild purifiers for the perfect exfoliation . My experience with this system actually great I love how my skin looks healthy & luminous after each use and it’s definitely working on slowing down the aging signs to appear soon on my skin ... I would prefer if it was a rechargeable ,overall it’s a good device to have specially if you’re skincare addict and have the love of trying new stuff.

I am about to embark on a serious skin care journey. As you can see large pores are my main problem. I’ve been told by multiple people that it is impossible to shrink them completely. While I refuse to except that anything is impossible I am going to aim to shrink them or at least remove the appearance of them by at least 50% if you have a similar problem and you would love to know if I’m successful and how it is I’m going to accomplish this and feel free to follow along. I plan on using different brands in different collections to see what works for me. The first collection I’m going to use is the OLE HENRIKSEN - Balance It All Essentials Setand OLE HENRIKSEN - Balance Babies Mattifying Oil Control Setwith my clarisonic - Mia Smart 3-in-1 Connected Beauty Device . It is a mix of a cleanser, facial scrub, called mask, toner, and hydrator. I will be posting my review once I have completely finished all of the mini sized products I have. I am estimating it will probably take me at least a month. Wow that might seem like a long time for a review I really want to make sure I give the products enough time to do their job so that I can make an accurate final thoughts review on my results.
💧 Battle of the Tools - Face Cleanser 💧
Both of these products claim to cleanse the face and remove makeup. The Clarisonic (the electric option) also claims to minimize the appearance of pores and prevent breakouts, exfoliates, is anti-aging and firming, reduces under-eye puffiness, and can’t even blend foundation flawlessly. The MakeupEraser (the manual version) doesn’t have any other claims than to easily remove makeup, even waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and foundation! There is an exfoliating side of the washcloth (the one with the tag on it), so it can also exfoliate. Obviously the Clarisonic is much more versatile, but it depends on the various brush heads you buy additionally. There’s the Eye Masseger one ($59 😱), the 3D Face Sculptor ($59), the Brush Head ($39), and then the regular face washing heads ($27-29 depending on the version). So basically the tool alone can’t give you all the results it claims, unless you buy the special brush head for it 🥴 they add up real quick. The brush heads don’t last that long for me either. Honestly, I don’t like using this brush that much anyway, it’s pretty bulky and hard to get around the nose. I also don’t feel comfortable using this to remove makeup since I think it’d get dirty real quick. The times I’ve used it with my second cleanse I haven’t really been impressed either. It is nice to be able to go on the app and chose a certain routine you want your Clarisonic to do at certain times of the day. This is the Mia Smart 3-in-1 Conmected Beauty Device and it costs $169. The MakeupEraser can be used by itself to remove makeup or you can use it to wash of face washes or masks, but be sure to wash it really well. I’ve found it removes my makeup nice and it’s really easy and gentle and doesn’t hurt or dry out my skin. I’ve used it by itself and to remove other products and I’m impressed. I prefer to use it over the facial wash clothes I bought before I got some of these. It is easy to wipe the eyes, side of nose, along the hairline, anywhere where a typical washcloth or the Clarisonic can be difficult or scary to use. A MakeupEraser costs $20 and there are a variety of colors and prints. . Overall, I definitely prefer the manual over the electric in any situation because I just want a basic way to remove my makeup. I don’t need a special tool that does a multitude of tasks that I have other products to do anyway. The brush heads to perform those tasks anyway are too expensive for the results, in my opinion. The MakeupEraser claims to last 3-5 years and is machine washable. The manual option is cheaper upfront and in the long run and the makeup removal and cleaning my face is so much easier with this, even though the electric is more versatile/customizable. I’m honestly debating decluttering/selling the Clarisonic because I just never reach for it anymore and don’t enjoy using it.

If you love skincare tools and devices...
Skincare tools and devices is something I've seen many people rave about and love! I dipped my toes in that trend too... I loved these skincare tools and devices so much, mostly because if felt they're like a luxury and who doesn't like to have a fancy, shiny tool they see people using and raving about? But is skincare tools and devices helpful for your skin concerns? Do they add any benefits in your routine? Most of these tools are just an additional step and luxury in your skincare regimen. Some devices and tools are helpful for some specific skin issues like Silicone Cleansing devices for Acne and congested pores or deep cleaning. But if you ask any dermologist or skincare expert they will tell you how you can cleanse your skin just with your hands and you don't need any tools for that. I like using PMD cleanser for some reasons, first is I really like to deep cleanse my Acne prone skin and second is it's silicone, vibrates and heats up giving me a nice spa feel when using. But it's totally an extra step in my routine. I wouldn't swear by these silicone cleansers changing my skin dramatically. I know what made it change are the skincare that I put on my skin and let it work for hours. Talking about Gua Sha and Jade rollers, it is fairly a recent trend in western beauty community where everyone felt the need to have a jade roller or Gua Sha in their home. I can press on telling they're great if you love massaging your face in the morning or every week or you want something to grip onto while working your hands in massage steps. But they're necessarily not any benefitial in skin improvement. Gua Sha particularly is an ancient tool in Chinese wellness and therapy where they sculpt your face and release tension in your limphatic drainage with those gracefully carved heavy stones. But for that technique and to really get the results you need to learn authentic Gua Sha techniques and if you use it religiously it will sculpt your face and tighten skin. But are they a necessity? Ofcourse not. Devices with Red light or Blue light emission are another thing where you need to have an expertise or atleast expensive devices with specific wavelength of Infra red light. I have this tool with Red light and they claim to reduce fine lines and wrinkles but I haven't experienced any change at home. If I really want to have red light therapy I would prefer going to a dermatologist and get done in settings. Similarly, Dermarollers are of more risk than benefit when done at home. I wouldn't say they don't work when done at home because I have done it, and yes they definitely help. But if you do it frequently and without really knowing how much your scars need, it will eventually disrupt your skin barrier. Leading skin being dry, sensitive and flakey and in worse cases contact dermititis. If you really want to learn how to dermaroll your face at home you can watch Dr. Davin Lim's (Board Certified Dermologist) 'How to perform skin needling' video on YouTube. https://youtu.be/o3r-DkgcJ3w Conclusively, I don't hate skincare tools and devices but I don't find them necessary too. If you like using any of these I'll list them down below! I have enjoyed using them in past but I don't really reach for them these days. Skincare tools is a thing where you definitely need to know what your skin really needs and what it can handle. *UPDATED* PM skin routine 🌚
This is my pm skin routine, updated. This is my part 2 to my last post of my updated AM routine! 🌊HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash my boyfriend got me this for my bday, and I’ve used it 2 times so far. The consistency is perfect for what I wanted, I felt like I needed this for my stubborn hormonal acne. It also is unscented. So far, I like it a lot! ☕️ YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner when I exfoliate, this is my go to. I have a review on this in a previous post, where I go into more detail. 🍃NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% this is what I got instead of another TO niacinamide serum. I like this one a lot better, and I think it’s simply because it is formulated better. It doesn’t foam up like TO does, and it’s also unscented. It’s consistency and packaging is also better. The results are what’s expected from a niacinamide serum, and price wasn’t too bad for this serum either. 🍁The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG see my am routine post for details on this product. 🧬GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum I like this serum because it’s cheaper like the ordinary, and it doesn’t foam up like TO did, but it still foams a little bit. It’s good enough for me, and isn’t scented. 🐘 DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream this is my night moisturizer, and I love this because it’s thick and hydrating. It feels nice on the skin, doesn’t have any scent, and makes my skin feel plump. It is expensive though, but DE always is. pmd - Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device I got this in my subscription box, and I’ve been using it at night to wash my face. It has 4 vibration settings, I use the first and second one for washing my face. I do think that it helps with exfoliation, and using the other side of the tool is made for massaging in serums. I found that it does take a lot of extra time when using it for serums. I like this tool, it’s nice, but not necessary. More of a luxury item.
🗝Clé de Peau UV Protective Lip Treatment SPF 30
I got this very fancy lip balm by Japanese luxury beauty brand Clé de Peau for my birthday. I wasn’t using it often because I was honestly scared to lose it. It’s not as painful to lose a $1 chapstick lol. Anyways, since I’ve ditched my old lip balms that contained petroleum products, I have been using this more. ☀️This product may still raise health concerns for some because of chemical sunscreens: Octinoxate, Octocrylene, Avobenzone, & Oxybenzone. I’ve found it kinda difficult searching SPF lip products that don’t have petroleum products, & also contain a purely mineral sunscreen. I’ll go into more detail about chemical vs mineral SPF in a future post. But in short, the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) began working last year to tighten regulations on the US sunscreen market regarding chemical SPF. The main concern is that unlike mineral sunscreen, it’s found in your blood stream quite quickly & proliferates in the body with continuous application. But scientists, doctors & dermatologists don’t seem to agree on what implications there may be; from harmless to cancer causing... clé de peau BEAUTÉ - UV Protective Lip Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I’m gonna be a little hard on this guy because of the hefty $65 price tag. It feels really smooth & rich when you swipe it on, but sadly, the rose scent that it claims to have really isn’t there😞🥀 Though moisturizing at first, it isn’t the lasting hydration I’d hope for in a lip balm this pricey. If I have cracked skin on my lips even a little, it can be sorta irritating. It might actually be making my lips dryer in the long run. Has a very nice glass like shine though🧊 Another thing I have to rag on simply because it’s a luxury product... the sticker on the back of the tube. I know that makeup products containing sunscreen have to have these little stickers, but this one was so thick it starts peeling up at the sides getting pocket gunk stuck in it... so I tried to take it off & had to use so many alcohol swabs but still it’s never clean. Kinda lame, just looks gross all the time lol ( see last couple photos )

These glosses really are amazing! The packaging is clean and beautiful, the colors are amazing, and they’re pretty affordable. I leave mine in my FINISHING TOUCH FLAWLESS - Flawless Beauty Fridge and using the glosses is so nice and refreshing!

UNDER $10?! Best face cleansing brush🤩
✨your follows and cheers mean so much 💛✨ ✨I picked up this CALA - DUAL-ACTION FACIAL CLEANSING BRUSH (MINT) a few weeks ago from winners, it was priced at $6.99 so I thought hey what the heck and now I can’t believe I went so long without one. ✨Honestly, the bristles are so soft but still firm enough that you can really a good lather going. I love the shape and handle length, I find it really easy to clean the jawline and neck and get a better lather than I can with my hands. ✨This brush really isn’t anything fancy, it doesn’t vibrate or spin by itself or anything but hey for $6.99 it does the trick and I don’t mind getting a little arm workout. What’s your favourite face cleansing tool?

Skincare tool I wasted my money on
FOREO - LUNA fofo The Foreo Luna Fofo is supposed to be a travel friendly, ultra hygienic, silicone cleansing brush that has app driven skin analysis. At Sephora, it retails for $89 USD. I cannot believe I paid this much for a rubber vibrator that connects to an app on my phone. It’s so gimmicky. First, this thing is so hard to keep clean. The silicone is constantly harboring dirt and mold between the rubber bristles. I have to use a mold spray to remove that. Next, the app was somewhat annoying to use and the sensor took several minutes to read my skin. Ultimately, it didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know just by looking and touching my skin. Lastly, my hands do a fine job cleansing my face. No one needs an $89 product to clean their face. Oh yeah, plus it runs on batteries and not a charger. I guess that’s supposed to be travel friendly? Overall, the product does what it is supposed to do: cleans my face. But having to constantly clean it is such an annoying burden that makes the product not worth it and just kinda gross. It’s an overpriced tool that does the same thing my hands can do. I would not recommend anyone buy this. #cheriepartner
skincare tool - icy cold face roller 🧊
I received the /kit·sch/ - Ice Rollerin last months boxycharm and I LOVE IT. It has come to replace my Sonia Kashuk ice roller as it’s about two times bigger and the roller is made of metal, versus the SK one which is smaller and plastic. Super simple, just leave this in your freezer and take it out when you are ready to use. After letting it “thaw” for a minute or two, roll in upwards motions on your face. Be sure to wipe down or spray with alcohol before putting it away for your next use. Can be used alone or in conjunction with a sheet mask or other face mask. You can also hold the roller on the under eyes for a few seconds to reduce puffiness. Retails for $18, but it’s being sold for as low as $5 on Mercari.
