Must-Have Products from Sephora and Ulta 🌟
We all have some beauty products that become hard to go without once we’ve tried them! Some of my beauty staples include skincare products to prep my skin and a high-hold hairspray so my hairstyle lasts all day. Here are my favorite products from Sephora and Ulta! Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer This is my go-to primer when I want my makeup to last all day long! It hydrates my skin without turning my face into an oil slick, and it has a slightly tacky feel that grips onto my foundation, just like it says. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation I prefer the hydrating formula of the Fenty Foundation over the original formula, which I thought was too matte for me, even with my oily/combo skin. This foundation blends out really nicely to a natural-looking satin finish, and I can easily layer setting powder over it without making my base look cakey or patchy. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This chemical exfoliant is a cult classic for a reason: It’s effective, looks cool, and costs less than $8! I love using it on Sunday nights as a weekly reset for my face. If you follow the instructions (leave on for 10 minutes and don’t use it more than twice a week), you’ll have baby soft skin without damaging your moisture barrier in no time. REDKEN - Triple Pure 32 Neutral Fragrance Hairspray It’s almost impossible for my hair to hold a curl without some kind of product. I love this hairspray because it sets my hair but doesn’t leave it feeling solid or crunchy. The mist is really fine so it disperses through my hair evenly without leaving some parts clumped with product and some parts untouched, which is one of my biggest pet peeves with hairspray. I highly recommend this to anyone who has trouble making their styled hair last more than an hour! TIGI - A Wave We Go Adjustable Deep Waver I love this hair waver because it’s incredibly easy to use. With this, I can wave my lob in literally 10 minutes! You can adjust the depth of the wave too, so you can have anything between a subtle beach wave or some really wild waves. What are your favorite products from Sephora and Ulta?
MY 10 MIN DEWY MAKEUP ROUTINE💋
Step 1: I always cleanse and moisturize my face prior to putting on makeup. I don’t really use a primer - I know I probably should but the primers I have make my face oily and so it moves my foundation during the day. Step 2: FOUNDATION! I use the FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation in the shade 160. I love it as it’s so dewy and keeps my skin looking hydrated and plump. It’s full coverage and I don’t need to use a lot for it to make my face look flawless. I really massage this foundation in with my fingertips to ensure it lasts all day and looks natural. The texture is super light and thin. Step 3: BROWS! I fill in my eyebrows with a brow pencil and then apply brow gel to keep them all in place. This is definitely the one step I’ll NEVER miss out on. Even if I don’t wear any makeup I’ll always gel down my brows! Step 4: BRONZER! I put some bronzer around my cheek bones and forehead just to give my face a bit of color and contour! Step 5: LASHES! I use the essence - I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara This mascara is super affordable and lasts forever. It’s very smooth on the lashes and it never becomes clumpy. I’ve been using this product for years and it’s still one of my favorites! Step 6: SET the face with some setting spray... and I’m done! Quick and easy dewy natural makeup look in just under 10 minutes! 💕 Paula x

Finding the right shade/coverage seasonally
Hi there, I’ve noticed like most people I’ve had a lot of trouble matching my foundation and finding coverage that works for my complexion (neutral undertones and freckles) so here’s a review on my newest finds. tarte - Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 I initially was very impressed with this product but I’ve noticed it’s very very light coverage which can either work great if it’s summertime & you need something lightweight, or if you need any type of coverage it’s basically not going to help in any way. AMAZING for dry skin. Ive been using this product alone all summer for my face. As New York has gotten cooler in the last two months and the sun has gotten less intense, I’ve been mixing it with the Maybelline Dream Cover to lighten it up. I don’t think that tarte has a very strong range of shades and found it difficult to color match for a neutral undertone. MAYBELLINE - Dream Urban Cover Foundation SPF 50 This is an amazing foundation mixed with a BB/CC cream or just by itself. It has anti-pollution protection and an amazingly strong SPF of 50. This is not a buildable coverage foundation, very liquidy, but stays put with a nice natural finish like the BB cream. This foundation matches my undertones closer than any other. L'ORÉAL - Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation This works better when you need more coverage, it will stay the majority of the day but not more than 10-12 hours. I have unfortunately stopped using this foundation, as it is too cakey for my liking. I recommend a mist beforehand or a wet applicator. Color matches nicely but not as close as the Maybelline. 1st picture on each layout is me with no makeup. 1st comparison is with Maybelline foundation and the 2nd is with the tarte BB cream. The L’oréal makeup was never too complimentary on me so I have little to no pictures for that comparison.

DIY TINTED MOISTURIZER 💫
DIY tined moisturizer is one of my oldest tricks in the book! I’ve been doin it for years and it has saved me so much money and counter space because I can use products that I already own. It’s great for days off when I want a little coverage for my face but I want it to be quick, easy and natural. The products I’m using to make my tinted moisturizer are dermalogica - Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 Moisturizer and Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundation . How to! 1. Put a pea size amount of both your moisturizer and foundation on the back of your hand 2. Use a small makeup brush or Q-tip to combine together (I would avoid using your finger because of bacteria) 3. I use a foundation brush to apply all over my face and blend in 4. Finish with a setting powder, I love Glossier’s Wowder so that you’re not too shiny 5. You’ve got a little bit of coverage plus spf and you’re good to go!

90s Makeup Trend: Blue Eyes and Nude Lips
So, we’re all back in the 90s as far as fashion trends are concerned. Thankfully, we’re keeping this decade’s eyebrows! I decided to try out two 90s inspired makeup looks with different shades of blue from the MORPHE - The James Charles Palette . My light look was created using the shade “Hello” all over the lid and crease, and running a bit of “Playgroung” on my lower lash line, and onto the outer half of my upper lash line. This added a little definition and brightness to the pale blue base. The light shimmery blue all over the eye and crease felt super retro and fun! ❄️🧚🏻👗 My dark look was created using the shade "Brother" all over the lid and blended into the crease, and "A capella" tapped onto the centre of the eyelid. This rich, dark version of the 90s blue eyeshadow trend felt much more modern and striking. 🧵🌊🌏 These looks are great for brown eyes - as you can see - but there are really no rules! You could achieve a toned down version of this look by lining your eyes with blue shades and adding lashings of mascara! Or pairing a navy blue or turquoise waterline with a bronze or copper upper lid! Don't be afraid of the blue! 2020 is the time to realise your colourful makeup dreams. Complexion Details 👸🏻 If you were interested in my complexion products, I used the ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in the shade 1C0 Shell, the REVOLUTION - Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer in the shade C1, the Revlon Sculpt + Highlight Contour Kit in Light/Medium, and a touch of Juvia's PLACE - The Saharan Blush Palette shade Yara to warm up the apples of my cheeks slightly. Lip Details 💄💋 I did a DIY lip colour to get the 90s nude look. I put some L.A. Girl - L.A. Girl Luxury Creme Lipstick in the shade Teddy around the edges of my lips, and patted some Covergirl Colorliscious Lipstick in the shade 230 in the centre (I think this line is discontinued!) Skin Details: I have fairly dry and fairly sensitive skin. I am very fair, too. I live in Brisbane, so the weather is getting more humid by the day, and is generally very sunny.
Estee Lauder .. A Cult Favorite Foundation
Here we are again to talk about Estee Lauder's infamous Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup. ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation (Color: Desert Beige) Probably hands down the best full coverage matte foundation I've used. There are a lot of liquid foundation which could pretty much be a competition to this popular gem. It covers pretty good on dark spots and freckles. But the matte texture sometimes makes me skin even more dry during winter so I'd have to switch it up from time to time. I wasn't able to achieve much of a natural glow with this foundation but contouring shoes up fantastic with this foundation. My skin type ranges from combination, oily, dry and sensitive, you name it. Where I live is pretty dry so my skin changes all year round which kind of sucks. Overall, it is worth for the price. A little bit goes a long way with this foundation.

My Makeup Journey - 1st satisfying full glam
I've been on a makeup journey for the past few months and I've been peaking in the last 2 weeks. I've become obsessed watching JuicyJas videos and buying lots of makeup! Some makeup was given to me from friends' ipsy bags, bought as Sephora with help from an associate (very beginning of journey) and a bulk was bought from Ulta, Walmart and Target based on reviews by JuicyJas and my own curiosity. This is my first really good, satisfying full glam look. I've had huge trouble with acne from one particular break out induced by stress about a month ago which really kickstarted my makeup experimentation. I used to wear barely anything but this breakout was super distracting and embarrassing as I am a scab picker and cannot leave things alone. My face has big red spots from picked scabs and dark scars. I have been doing this all my life and know they will go away and fade eventually. The skin finally almost healed. This whole look took about two hours which included my skin care routine, letting moisturizers and primers set, and washing sponges and cleaning brushes. As you can see I used a huge amount of products. They worked well to cover my acne and it was my first time doing a pink eyeshadow look. I loved it!! I only use a small amount of NARS foundation because it's pretty heavy which I don't like much but I do love adding a small amount over my troubled areas over my Maybelline foundation. I also used e.l.f. eyeliner tape to do the wing for the first time. It worked so well! I have been doing winged eyeliner for years and I'm still not very good at it so I was so happy to find out this product existed. I can do winged eyeliner but it takes much longer to get it just right without the tape. I'm excited for when I better at doing makeup and have less acne to cover up so I don't have to spend so much time getting ready but still get the same results. I am a very expressive person and would love to do full glam everyday! I love coordinating my eyes and lips with my outfits. I went to the movies with this look and wore a pastel pink beanie and pastel pink sneakers to match it. My next project is figuring out how to do my eyebrows!

Spanglish palette from AC!! 💖🧡
My top 3 products used for this look: aLamar COSMETICS - Alamar Spanglish Eyeshadow Palette This is the second palette I own from AC and these eyeshadows never disappoint! Amazing pigment and easy to blend. This is not usually the color way I would be drawn too but I’m glad took a chance and played around with it! LANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation Can you say ONE OF THE BEST FOUNDATIONS EVERRRR!! Its described as a full coverage foundation however I’d say its more medium to full. Not quite sure about the 24 hr coverage but it did stay put at least 12 hrs for me and its super buildable without the cake. The shade range is not only amazing but I was able to find a shade that matches my olive undertone perfectly. They hit the nail right on the head with this one! FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Kiss'r Luscious Lip Balm I’m a gloss girl so I’m happy to get that look with this product as well as receiving the benefits of a lip balm. It doesn’t give me sticky vibes and I like the scent!
Foundation swatches ✨
From left to right swatched foundations all primed with TATCHA - The Liquid Silk Canvas: Featherweight Protective Primer First up is The Ordinary - Colours Coverage Foundation with SPF 15which is not the one I have the one I purchased is actually the ordinary serum foundations which is a weightless light coverage skincare foundation I ordered online from ulta and it’s quite cheap for foundations I believe being around $7 only reason I haven’t gotten a chance to use it is because I will have to mix it with a lighter color as it is quite dark Secondly NARS - Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation Is a nice formula not too drying and the shade shown is actually my “fall color” as I get lighter during these times. I thought it would be nice to show how light and dark ones skin can get with the seasons. I have always heard great things about nars and of course have their staple piece orgasm blush in not just compact but loose powder. Glad to have liked their foundation as well only negative is it is buildable coverage so I have to use quite a bit of product but still very smooth on the skin and long lasting! Best for last LANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation is my go to foundation now the shade is questionable as I used to tan a lot when I first bought it but if I do not keep up with the sun I do have to mix a drop of my nars in I do not know if I will repurchase but I’m definitely finishing this precut and that’s saying a lot as I only ever need two to three full pumps for my whole face Only thing I will say is it does dry out your skin so keep it moisturized and prime your face Love the fact it has spf one of my favorite spf profits is this item with only 15spf but that helps when your in a rush of forgot to apply sunblock ! But isn’t it crazy how wide our range of foundations can be?! Do you ladies have the same experience or the weather is pretty consistent in your city?

10 MINUTE NATURAL MAKEUP LOOK
I’ve finally got my 10-minute makeup look down - it’s pretty close to a no-makeup makeup look, but that’s why I like it. It’s hard to tell that I’m wearing makeup in the first place, but I know that I definitely look a little more polished than if I was barefaced. One of my tips for having a fast makeup routine is using a sunscreen that doubles as primer - it means you don’t have to apply primer as a separate step, speeding up the process! Here’s the order I apply my 10-minute routine in: ➡️ Foundation I use a thinnish layer of Wet n Wild Photofocus foundation, applying with the ELF Selfie Brush. This brush alone makes the process so quick - it blends foundation out so quickly! I apply a thinner layer so that any redness is hidden on my skin, but my natural freckles still show through. This isn’t a high coverage routine, and for on the go, this foundation is matte enough to go without powder. wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation e.l.f. - Selfie Foundation Blurring Brush ➡️ Eyes I love using bronzer as eyeshadow because it adds a little definition to the eyes, without needing the precision of a proper eyeshadow look. I like to use Nars Laguna, and I’ve also combined it with mascara to open up my eye. If there’s one step I never skip, it’s mascara! It helps my eyes look much more awake and makes the biggest difference in this look. NARS - Blush/Bronzer Duo L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara ➡️ Brows I’ll fill in my brows a little bit, but a too-defined brow doesn’t suit the more natural nature of this look. I use a micropencil like the one from Maybelline, then set my brows with a brow gel. Lately, I’ve been using the Benefit 24hr Brow setter! I actually don’t like Brow Setter that much, it’s much wetter than I prefer for a brow gel. I find I can easily accidentally put too much on at once so I have to be careful. To make this routine even speedier (if I’m short on time) I would use a tinted brow gel so that there’s colour added to the brow without needing to use a pencil! MAYBELLINE - Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil benefit - 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel ➡️ Lips In the interest of speed, I also don’t use a coloured lip product - I’ll just go for lip gloss or lip balm. LUCAS' PAPAW REMEDIES - Lucas' Papaw Ointment Lip Balm It’s a really understated look, but for me it’s enough to feel more polished and ready for the world in just ten minutes! :)
MY FAVE FOUNDATION FOR A FLAWLESS BASE
These days, drugstore foundations are so much better than they used to be. I got my hands on the much-hyped Wet n Wild Photofocus Matte foundation and it hasn’t let me down. For day-to-day, I like just a single layer of foundation to provide medium coverage. However, this is a buildable foundation that you can use for a flawless base - here’s how. I find this foundation works best for me when dotted onto the face, then blended out with a brush or sponge. I use the elf selfie-ready foundation brush - it blends product out so quickly while still looking perfect! This product is best for combination to oily skin - it’s pretty matte and can look cracked or drying on normal to dry skin (unless you use a hydrating primer underneath). I don’t think this has added fragrance, but it definitely has silicones so if those are a problem for you, this is one to avoid. I use the shade Golden Beige (a warm light-medium shade). I also use NC25 in MAC foundations, for reference! I think that Photofocus is a great drugstore product. My only complaint is the applicator. It is a small spatula, and it’s easy for people to think this needs to touch the face - ideally, it should not touch anything (that’s why pumps are considered hygienic) so the best way to apply this foundation is to apply from the spatula to the back of the hand, then dot on the face with a finger before blending out. Full product list: wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Innisfree Pencil Eyeliner MAYBELLINE - Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil benefit - 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel NARS - NARS Satin Lip Pencil NARS - Nars Blush Duo

A full face in just 10 minutes!
Happy Friday, cherie fam! I don’t know about you, but my friday makeup tends to be especially quick and easy. Anyone who has a zoom call with me on fridays can deal with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) I wanted to share the makeup I put on this morning in just under ten minutes! The finished look is casual, put together, and glowy, and my real skin is still visible under the light makeup. Basic info about my skin: I’m oily and acne prone, and my main concerns right now are dark circles and hyperpigmentation from acne. I also have sparse brows and I like to fill them in—if I do nothing else, I’ll do my brows because I feel naked without them 😂 Here’s a step by step, including all the products I used: First, I apply a few drops of the Kosas - Tinted Face Oil Foundation all over my face, blending it into my hairline and neckline. I’ve reviewed this before, so I won’t go into detail here, but I love it! I just spread it and pat it in with my fingers—no beauty blender/brush needed. Next, I use the Kosas - Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes. Scroll back a few posts for my thoughts on this concealer and why it’s worth repurchasing! Third, I apply the cream blush from the Kosas - Color & Light: Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo on the apples of my cheeks. I usually use a brush, but I can use my fingers in a pinch. I have the color Helios and it’s such a beautiful deep orange shade. The formula itself is very creamy and nourishing—it really feels like skincare AND makeup. I set everything with a light dusting of the Milk MAKEUP - Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder . I love this powder, and it’s lasting me FOREVER even with daily use, but I desperately want them to improve the packaging 😩 The mesh makes it difficult to get the product out at times. I do my brows with a few quick swipes of the Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel , my holy grail brow gel. This is the only product on my brows and LOOK how it fills them in! I do a quick coat of the bareMinerals - Lashtopia Mega Volume Mineral-Based Mascara to add length and volume to my lashes. This mascara last alllll day without flaking at all on me. Last, I swipe on some nooni - Appleberry Lip Oil , and I’m done! I LOVE this tinted oil—it feels very hydrating without being sticky, and it’s an incredible bargain compared to other tinted lip oils out there (I got it for $12 on amazon). It has a pink tint and a subtle berry flavor. And that’s it! All of these products are so simple to use, making them perfect for a quick and easy makeup look. #CheriePartner

Il Makiage IL MAKIAGE - WOKE UP LIKE THIS was all over my Facebook feed and I love foundation....sooooo, yes, I caved and bought it. Their marketing is pretty compelling. I had to try for myself. I currently use Lancôme Teint Idole and mix in a bit of Sheiseido Perfect Refining Foundation. It’s a pretty awesome mix that I’ve stuck with for years. With that said, I’m always open to trying new products. Details..... Il Makiage asks a series of questions to match your color. It comes with a foundation brush and specifically says not to apply it with your fingers. That’s how I apply my foundation so the brush was new for me. The verdict? I like it but I don’t think I’m in love. The color is really good. The brush applies it nicely. What else can I say? It didn’t blow me away and I was really hoping it would. It has a nice medium coverage and it looks pretty smooth and natural. I guess I was hoping I’d be a little more glow-y and fresh looking. Maybe I’m expecting too much?? Disclaimer, I’m almost 44 so I’m not sure if any foundation can give me back my perfect skin of the 20’s and 30’s. What do you think? Is the color match good? Does it look like I’m wearing foundation? I’m on the fence to keep it or send it back. What else is on my face? Skincare - Herbivore Pink Cloud cleanser, Herbivore Rose spray, Clarisma Cali Dreaming Cream Moisturizer, The Ordinary Caffeine eye serum, Rooted Sensitive Brightening Eye Cream, Hourglass Veil mineral primer. Makeup - Il MakiageIL MAKIAGE - WOKE UP LIKE THIS , Sephora cream concealer on a couple spots, IT Cosmetics bye bye undereye concealer, Nars Orgasm blush, Covergirl Total Tease mascara, Almay eyeliner in copper, tiny bit of Bare Minerals mineral veil on my tzone, Medicine Mamas Bee Magic on lips, clear wax on brows.
Il Makiage got it right!!!
So after seeing this foundation on my feed for well over a year I caved and took the plunge for the 2 week trial (truthfully my bestie gave in first and i had to try it too, lol) The fist shade they sent me was way too lignt but their customer service is on point and after sending them a selfie in natural light they sent me an almost perfect match. This picture was taken on my day off after playing with my toddler, cleaning house, frying chicken for supper and wearing it for over 8 hours. I snapped this right before I did my nightly skincare because I was amazed at how beautiful it still looked. I'm going to use it again tomorrow when I head back to work and have a 12 hour day booked. If anyone is invested I can post again and see what happens after that 112 hour mark!!

My Usual Go-To Makeup Look
*ignore the fact that my eyebrows are a little out of control at the moment, I’m working on growing them out and fixing the patchyness so I can go get them waxed* First I start by mixing The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and Neutrogena - SkinClearing Oil-Free Liquid Foundation , I’m not exactly sure all what it does but it makes my face look smoother. Then I apply it to my face using REAL TECHNIQUES - REAL TECHNIQUES Foundation Blender . I then go on to my eyeshadow. I use the color called top from JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS - Orgy Eyeshadow Palette . I take the MORPHE - Morphe X Jeffree Star JS6 Rule Blender Brush and apply that eyeshadow to my eyelid. Then I use the shimmer bronzer from #Ulta Beauty - Bronzer, Blush, and Highlighter Palette[products]#[FiveStars] to put some shimmer on the corner of my eye because I didn’t have the right glitter eyeshadow for this. After that I use ULTA BEAUTY - Waterproof Amped Lashes Mascara for my eyelashes. I take the BLOSSOM - Tropicali Flavored Roll-on Lip Gloss and put that on my lips, then I blot that with some tissue and apply some Red Dahlia BURT’S BEES - Tinted Lip Balm . I do it this way so that my lips are well moisturized when I put the tinted lip balm on and it doesn’t look dry. Then after all that I take my MORPHE - MORPHE X Jeffree Star JS7 Double Trouble Brush to brush out my eyebrows. And that’s all. It’s simple and doesn’t have too many steps. I’m not at all good at makeup. I’m just a beginner but I feel that this looks good on me. In my opinion this is a pretty good natural/minimal look. I’m always open to feedback because I am still learning.
