Ingredients to Build your Routine Around
I am 35 years old with two kids. I have dry / normal skin. My top concerns are fine lines & wrinkles, preventing aging, dullness, and dark circles. When I started my skincare routine, all I knew was that I started to notice fine lines & wrinkles and wanted to buy new products for “anti-aging”. After a lot of research, here are my Top 5 Ingredients with proven benefits for 30s Skin: 1. Retinol Retinol is a powerhouse for wrinkles. It is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin A. It alters the behaviour of aged skin cells. It smooths skin texture, enhances radiance and treats aging. Retinol can be irritating to skin, so build up your tolerance gradually starting with a lower percentage and only 1-2 days per week. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Murad - Ready, Radiant, Retinol SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil If you need an alternative to retinol because you have sensitive skin or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, bakuchiol is a good plant-based all natural alternative to retinol or rosehip oil is high in Vitamin A. HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 2. Vitamin C A potent antioxidant that helps reduce skin inflammation, irregular pigmentation, and promotes healthier collagen production. It neutralizes free radical damage and great for AM routine. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Time to Wake Up Duo SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum 3. Exfoliate / AHAs Exfoliation is about boosting cell turnover. You should do it twice a week. Use different acids like lactic acid and glycolic acid. Build up a tolerance. You can use toners, serums, or creams. Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum 4. Peptides Peptides preserve and boost collagen production. Peptides are short chain amino acids that act as building blocks for proteins such as collagen. It improves the appearance of firmness and wrinkles. Extensive research supports that peptides improve skin function and appearance. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster 5. Hydration In your 30s your skin tends to get dehydrated. Hydration will plump up skin. Add a hydrating toner, facial spray, hyaluronic acid serum. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 **BONUS** SPF Never forget you sunscreen ☀️

drunk elephant review with fungal acne🐘💗
as someone with fungal acne, buying the same products can be reaaallyyy boring. so this is my review of drunk elephant as someone with fungal acne!! * disclaimer, NONE of these products are fungal acne safe!! use at your own risk * DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser this cleansing balm doesn’t really emulsify when you activate it with water, leaving a really oily feeling😕 and doesn’t remove all my makeup DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample this is a really nice gentle foaming cleanser... and thats pretty much it. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum i love this serum! its a lovely gel serum that absorbs in quickly and is greak at oil control DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum this serum is a little tricky, i haven’t really noticed a difference in my skin in terms if brightness, i do have a bit of dark spots and they haven’t budged. not to mention this formulation is a rip off of the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream this is a thicc moisturizer that surprisingly doesn’t leave my oily skin looking greasy af. its a good moisturizer for dry combo skin! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream this moisturizer feels exactly like the lala retro... its just 8 dollars more expensive DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mask this mask burns so bad the first 20 seconds but then it settles down. i really havent seen a difference in my skin so DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil ive only used this oil a few times but wow it really makes your skin feel super soft and dewy DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lippe Balm i love this lip balm but its 16 dollars and the claim are completely false! in conclusion, i wont be repurchasing anymore of drunk elephant products because in reality they are just good products... nothing too special ESPECIALLY for the price. they aslo didn’t want to provide information about the percentage of black employees during the Pull Up Or Shut Up movement so yeah. their aesthetic is cute but ive grown out of this phase 😀 like and save!! xo melanie

Facial oils - my experience
Even though I have combination skin, I try to incorporate facial oils in my routine. I feel like they are the bodyguard for our skin, they seal all the products underneath. I have tried two oils till now and here is what I thought: Initially when I used the Biossance oil I thought it worked great, but my skin started breaking out very badly after3-4days and I stopped using the oil all together. I was very scared to use facial oil after my bad experience with this. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil Then I came across Drunk elephant and with all those glimmering reviews I decided to give Marula oil a try and I never regretted it. My skin didn’t break out at all. And the oil also gets absorbed by my skin quickly and doesn't leave an oily icky residue. I especially love using this at night, when I have more time to massage my face. It minimizes the tugging from facial tools or friction from your fingers. Not everyone likes or needs oils on their face; but if you do, then don’t think twice before buying this! :)DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil

🚨SOS - SAVE MY CUTICLES 🚨
Hey Cherie fam, I’m looking to all you amazing people for some advice. I’ve always had dry cuticles and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been using the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oilas a cuticle oil, since it wasn’t really working for my face as well as #F.Miller - Cuticle Oil[products]#, and frequent moisturizing using SOL de Janeiro - Coco Cabana Cream. I’ve seen a lot of improvement in my nails, they aren’t splitting or breaking as often as they used to but I’m still getting a lot of frayed cuticles! Anyone else have this problem? Would love some recommendations!

🛸🪐Acne products that are out of this world!
⁣Hi lovely! Be sure to follow my Instagram for more content! @skincare_by_reba 😍 🛸 Let’s talk 𝐀𝐜𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬! 🪐⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ What are these products? Here we have SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil& SUNDAY RILEY - Saturn Sulfur Spot Treatment Mask ⁣⁣ UFO oil is a “fast-acting, quick-drying, medicated oil that clears acne and blackhead-causing buildup and debris from congested pores for smoother, blemish-free skin.” Saturn is “a medicated spot treatment mask that clears up acne while preventing new blemishes from forming.”⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: Maskne has met its match with this combo 😍 UFO is a dry treatment oil, so it absorbs and dries beautifully. I typically use this in the morning as my first step after cleansing/essence. If my skin is feeling congested and I didn’t use UFO in the AM, I’ll use it followed by A+ at night and wake up to significantly improved skin! I incorporated this into my routine in September, and have found that the powerful ingredients have helped cure existing maskne and also keep future breakouts at bay.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Saturn used to be sold in a bigger tube as an all-over mask, but has been re-marketed as a spot treatment. Because the 10% sulfur can be drying, it’s recommended to wash it off after drying. I found using it as a spot treatment as my last evening step & leaving it on overnight is super effective without being too drying.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: After the sticker shock of A+, these may seem more reasonable! UFO oil is $40/.5oz and $80/1.18oz. My .5oz bottle has lasted me quite a while considering how frequently I used it when I first received it. I was using it on average 5 days/week, plus using up to an entire dropper full at a time for DIY masks - and it still has lasted nearly 4 months. I bought the 1.18oz bottle to use next, because it is reimbursable through my FSA!⁣⁣ Saturn is $20/.5oz tube and I feel it will last me forever. Both are sold in the All About Acne Kit which is an amazing deal!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘯𝘦?⁣⁣

I love this oil for acne! LOVE!
Thanks so much to @cheriefor sending this oil to me. I am absolutely obsessed and it is saving my skin right now. So a little background, my skin has been breaking out due to cold weather. Cold weather usually makes me react terrible and I get dry, irritated, acne prone skin. This oil has been amazing! It contains 1.5% Salicylic Acid blended with hydrating Milk Thistle and Cucumber Seed Oil to deeply moisturize and prevent drying! It penetrates deep and helps relieve congestion. It also doesn’t over dry the skin which is really amazing in cold weather. SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil I am literally obsessed! If you suffer like me, I would highly recommend something like this. Do you have a favorite product in the winter?

ACURE vs. HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Oil
First, What is Blue Tansy? Blue tansy is an essential oil that comes from distilling the flower and stem of the blue tansy plant. Through the distillation process one of the chemical components of the oil, chamazulene, is released. When heated, chamazulene turns deep blue, indigo-to-cerulean hue. Due to growing popularity in recent years, it was almost harvested out of existence and therefore is one of the more expensive oils to purchase. Why is it so popular? It is known for its calming effects and heal irritated skin. According to the American Chemical Society notes that chamazulene, the chemical that brings out the blue color in the oil, is also an anti-inflammatory agent. Along with Sabinene and Camphor, two primary components of blue tansy oil, that are effective anti-inflammatory agents; healing wounds, repair damaged skin and can also be an anti-wrinkle agent. In a Healthline.com article I read that some radiologist would use blue tansy spritzer ( 4ml of BT to 4 ounces of water in a glass bottle) to treat patients that has skin burns that can sometimes develop from radiation treatments for cancer. ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil I think I might have found a dupe for HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin Two main common Ingredients: Blue Tansy—provides antioxidants and soothes/ calms sensitivities, and Kukui Oil—fends off free radicals, balances serums, provides hydration and nourishment. Just use nightly, a couple of drops on cleanse skin (after your toner, essence, serums, and other treatments). Massage in as (recommended on the packaging) in place of your facial moisturizer. On ULTA it says to apply it after your moisturizer. I’ve used it both ways and enjoy them both. The Herbivore Lapis does have more moisturizing ingredients like plant based squalane, jojoba and vitamin E but if you’re in pinch and can’t spare the $72 (+tax) for. 50ml bottle at Sephora, I think this a pretty great dupe! It’s $12 (+tax) for 30ml. Both products are Clean product: 🌱No Parabens 🌱No Alcohol 🌱No Sulfates 🌱No Petroleum Based Oils 🌱No Silicones 🐰Cruelty Free 🐰 Vegan Please let me know if you have tried this oil, and/or your favorite Acure products below. I would love to learn more about this brand! Thank you. Be Kind, Stay Beautiful

I FINALLY picked these up! | 🎉🌞🌸
HERBIVORE - Cloud Nine Favorites Collection We all know it’s nearly impossible to pass up a good sale! Sephora has one on now, and I figured it was the best time to treat myself to this set from Herbivore. I haven’t tried any of their products yet, but you guys seem to LOVE what they’re doing, so its about time! The lowdown on what’s inside: ✨ HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser This cleanser is said to remove makeup and impurities while hydrating the skin. Using tremella mushroom, a moisture-retaining powerhouse, soothing rose, and pure squalane, this is meant to be a silky, luxurious cleanse that leaves you feeling clean, without stripping your skin. ✨ HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask This fan favourite mask is gentle on the skin, soothing redness and reducing the appearance of pores. It uses white willow bark (a natural BHA!), fruit enzymes, and blue tansy oil to reduce redness and inflamed acne. I can’t wait to see what the hype is about! ✨ HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin Another popular pick, once again including blue tansy, is this beautifully coloured face oil. Additionally, it uses kukui nut and jojoba oil to balance and hydrate, our MVP squalane, and jasmine sambac oil to boost elasticity. ✨ HERBIVORE - Prism 12% AHA + 3% BHA Exfoliating Glow Serum This chemical exfoliant is becoming more popular by the day! A mix of AHAs and BHAs, Prism uses naturally derived chemicals to gently resurface the skin, as well as rosewater to help soothe sensitive spots during the process. ✨ HERBIVORE - Coco Rose Body Polish A delectably-scented body scrub, Coco Rose is highly moisturizing and leaves the skin smelling like a floral, tropical oasis. This scrub has some pink clay mixed in to help detox the skin while you exfoliate and hydrate. After seeing so many of you talk about how in love you are with Herbivore, I’m seriously excited to use these products. The kit was packaged beautifully and really made me feel like I was gifting myself something so luxurious. 💅🏻 Stay tuned to see my in-depth reviews on each of these products! 📝

My Top 5 for 2020
It’s almost over! But it doesn’t mean everything ends. I just watched the new 2020 comedy flick on Netflix. Boy does that sum things up! 😂 1. PRODUCT- YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil One of the first oils that ever agreed with me and I saw the benefits of (also love rose oil). Formulated with antioxidant-rich plant oils, among them jojoba, moringa, flaxseed, borage, rosehip, and evening primrose. All of them provide hydration, some amount of environmental protection, and can improve the health of skin’s barrier. I love this oil for its hydration! 2. TREND - CBD I don’t know enough on the subject to speak of it but I know we saw a boom of CBD products this year. I personally love the benefits of CBD as I suffer from chronic pain and depression. I also know the few products I’ve tried with CBD have helped with inflammation. 3. MY BEST LOOK - Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve done a “full face” but typically I never left the house without one. I usually did a natural look and maybe on date night went a little heavier. I’ve always been most comfortable with the natural look on me. But these days you’ll find me more like the 3rd photo. I fill in my brows and pop on a bit of mascara and call it good. 4. MY FAVORITE CHERIE CREATOR - One of the first girls I connected with on this platform, not just followed but created a connection with, was my girl @Mallory I love her detailed reviews and her helpful responses to her followers. She’s an amazing asset to all of us here at Cherie! Also a shoutout to @sitstilllookprettyas we’ve been longtime IG pals and I love having our friendship on here as well! 5. SOMETHING I LEARNED - Something I learned and I hope every one of you have too is WEAR SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY! Even just to run an errand. I have now even started to wear it indoors. Can’t hurt! I learn so much from all of you who continue to create content for Cherie! Thanks for sharing.

Facial Oils: My Glowy Skin Sidekick!
growing up i always had oily skin, which led to a long and rough struggle with acne throughout middle and high school. naturally, i believed adding any oils to my face would be practically inviting more breakouts... oh how i want wrong! facial oils have become one of my near constant companions, i loooove them. by adding an oil to your routine (i especially love them at night), your skin takes a back seat in producing extra oil & can even cause less breakouts. refer to the derms for deets bc im here to give recs! I look for oils that soak in well, don’t leave a greasy or sticky residue, and make my skin glowy! #Pombatch - Argan Rosehip Facial Oil[products]#[FiveStars] $17 for 1oz this is a great starting out product! it’s a BIPOC women-led brand whose oil blend is ideal for ppl looking for a simple and reliable facial oil. it’s a pure blend of oils (no fragrances or other fillers), soaks in beautifully, and isn’t too heavy for daily use. Argan, Rosehip, Grapeseed, Jojoba are all well known oils that work well for the skin without clogging it! #Scentuals - Restorative Facial Serum[products]#[FourStars] $35.3 for 2oz (CA brand) although this has the “serum” label, it is still primarily a facial oil. with star ingredients of Rosehip, Grapeseed, Vitamin E, and Chamomile and Geranium Extracts, this is an experience as much as it is skincare. i understand products with fragrance and fragrances oils are not for everyone however my skin LOVED this serum and it smells like a full spa experience. honestly the loveliest way to end my nights. one star off because it does have ingredients some may be more wary of but it did give me five star skin ☺️ YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil $44 for 1oz Okay this is most expensive one on the list. i have to say, it was beautiful to use. it has star ingredients of antioxidant-rich maqui extract, jojoba oil, vitamin e, gogi extract and more! i loved how fast this absorbed, though i wish it came in a larger bottle. luckily with facial oils, you only need a few drops each night so it should still last a while

🌙 Luna Sleeping Night Oil 🌙
Follow my skincare Instagram for more content! @skincare_by_reba 😍 🌙 Let’s talk 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥 𝐎𝐢𝐥𝐬! 🌙⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭? This is SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil SR’s site describes it as a “next-generation retinol oil that boosts the look and feel of skin plumpness, while improving the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores for visibly younger-looking skin.”⁣ ⁣ 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: I. Love. This. Oil! I started off with a sample size (from the Multivitamins Kit) and it didn’t take me long to order the full size so I wouldn’t be without. Not only is the blue color stunning, it also smells amazing! I love the way it feels when I massage it into my face and it absorbs so wonderfully. I think it lives up to all of its claims - my skin improved so much after adding this to my PM routine. 𝘐 𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘴, because it is super gentle. It was a great way for me to introduce retinol before going for A+, which my next post will be about!⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: This is $55 for .5oz, or $105 for 1.18oz. The .5oz lasted me 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝟼 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘴 with an average use of 4-5 nights per week (about 100 uses). For me, one use is usually 4 drops - one on each cheek, one on my forehead and one on my nose or chin. Empties that I would definitely repurchase!
Krave - The Beet Shield $20 for 50 ml This is hands down the best face spf I have ever tried! No white cast, no weird sunscreen smell, sits well under makeup, AND spf 50. It dries slightly dewy so if I am wearing it alone I will set it with powder, but if I am wearing makeup it is the perfect primer. Have already repurchased twice SUMMER FRIDAYS - CC Me Vitamin C Serum $64 for 1 oz I have super sensitive skin and it is rare that I find a vitamin c serum that doesn’t irritate my skin at all. This one is super gentle but still has noticeable brightening effects. It is a hydrating serum due to the added squalane, and makes my skin so happy. It smells slightly like cinnamon, but in a very subtle and natural way. Will repurchase once I finish my current vitamin c serum HERBIVORE - Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil $58 for 1 oz This oil is so hydrating and soothing and perfect for the winter! I definitely notice my skin is less red when I wake up after using this oil. It has a natural herbal scent but I actually really enjoy it. I’ve gone through 3 minis and will be purchasing a full size very soon SheaMoisture - Red Palm Oil & Cocoa Butter Leave-In or Rinse Out Conditioner $11.19 for 13 oz I have used this both as a leave in and rinse out conditioner, and while it works great for both, I much prefer it as a leave in. Not too sticky and adds the perfect amount of moisture to my dry, curly hair. This paired with a styling gel and my curls are hydrated and defined and so shiny! I can’t even count how many of these I’ve gone through Not Pot - Pineapple CBD gummies ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ $40 for 30 gummies These gummies help me sleep better and feel less stressed through the day. I don’t take them everyday and so I definitely notice a shift in my mood when I do take one. They taste great and not at all like weed. I’ve gone through 3 bottles over the past few months and can’t wait until they restock! #cheriepartner

My favorite lazy nighttime routine - in minis
A good nighttime routine for me has at minimum 3 vital steps: oil based cleanser, water based cleanser, and moisturizer. This simple 4 step routine is my go-to for traveling because it hits all my requirements plus a little something extra! First cleanse: Elemis Pro-collagen cleansing balm This is my absolute favorite first cleanse. It has a jelly like consistency and removes all traces of makeup and spf fairly easily. It does contain some essential oils which can be sensitizing for some people, but has never bothered my sensitive skin. Second cleanse: Youth to the People Superfood cleanser I really appreciate a foaming cleanser that is gentle enough for use twice a day. This is a thin gel consistency that has a gentle lather. I can even use this to remove any eye makeup that was left behind after my first cleanse. Moisturizer: Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask This is such a multi- use product! It can be used as a 20 minute wash off mask, an overnight sleeping mask, or a daytime moisturizer for those with drier skin. It’s full of ceramides to help moisturize the skin. The mask contains niacinamide too which helps even skin tone and visibly minimize enlarged pores. Oil (My bonus product): Herbivore Emerald Oil I love the cbd version of this oil (there is also a hemp one) to add extra hydration and decrease my natural redness. It’s incredibly hydrating, but sinks into the skin super well and doesn’t feel too oily at all. It also has ashwagandha to protect against environmental stressors. #cheriepartner

Must have!!!
I’ve been wanting to try something from Blume for a while now- and this did not disappoint!! I absolutely am in love with this product. My acne has been pretty bad lately, around my chin and jawline. So, I’ve been looking for some new acne products to integrate into my routine. This does the job!!! I apply this oil at the end of my entire night routine (after moisturizer). And I focus putting it on areas where acne is at that time. Over night, it dries them up completely! If they’re little to begin with, they make them disappear. But, if they’re big, it dries them up and then they are gone within a another day/couple days of use. When I wake up my skin is still glowing and moisturized. If you don’t like an oily feeling in the morning, it may bother you, but it just washes off then! I definitely recommend this🤍🤍🤍🤍BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin

Say bye to Acne!
I often deal with hormonal and random breakouts primarily on my forehead, nose and sometimes chin. I have tried so many products over the years to help get rid of acne and these 3 are THE BEST OF THE BEST. The PETER THOMAS ROTH - AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel I love applying all over my face right after cleansing and right before moisturizing. It’s a perfect mix of salicylic acid and glycolic acid. It gets rid of redness and dramatically gets rid of the bump of a pimple. The ROSEN SKINCARE - Break-Out is a perfect treatment to put on top right before bed, it has amazing ingredients and doesn’t dry out your skin. The pimple does flatten by the next morning and it’s almost ready to pop! I absolutely love the BLUME - Meltdown Oil for Acne-Prone Skin it’s perfect to mix into your moisturizer or just tap on top of a pimple. The next morning you won’t even remember you had a pimple. TRUST.

My beauty year in review 👏🏻
From starting 2020 with a seven day old newborn baby and all the crazy hormones and changes to my body, skin and hair which goes with a new baby (yes, this is why I look exhausted and have something spilt on my top in the February photo 🙈😂) to a global pandemic which resulted in my husband working from home and suddenly needing to learn how to homeschool my older daughter this year has been crazy and challenging to adjust and find the right balance. Inspired by joining Cherie I completely overhauled my skin routine while stuck at home during lockdown and went from a basic routine to learning how to read ingredient lists and incorporating serums and actives into my skincare to address my changing skin postpartum and also due to ageing now I’m in my 30’s. Once my skin started looking and feeling brighter and healthier I was able to jump back into my love of makeup which I hadn’t had the energy to do in over a year while I was pregnant and with a new baby which is a great creative outlet for me and really helps my self esteem ☺️ The more I’ve focused on taking the time for self-care the better frame of mind I’ve been in (which is so important as someone who suffers with anxiety and OCD and needs to manage stress well to keep my anxious habits in check) and the better person I’ve been able to be for everybody around me. I’ve also been lucky enough to join the Cherie creators team and get to know an amazing group of girls including @Jillianb1@LindseyRR@D.Bennett@madihomewood@Beautycation_by_shruti@christyr@emiskiier27@bealizbeauty@BeautyRoams@JaNeeReviewsand @Tangibeautywho have given me so much inspiration in my beauty journey this year ✨ So to finish off my year in review here are my top five new products I’ve tried in 2020 🥳 🏆 SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter 🏆 alkira - Mineral Radiance Facial Masque 🏆 The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA 🏆 GO-TO - Face Hero 🏆 tarte - Maneater Mascara

Beauty Product #Shelfie - My Everyday Faves!
These are my favourite products for my daily skin & hair care routine. For more details on each product see below! ⭐️ Skin care (bottom shelf) GO-TO - Properly Clean I avoid harsh cleansers as I have naturally dry skin. This cleanser has me feeling clean and fresh but doesn’t dry me out. GO-TO - Exfoliating Swipeys I am new to chemical exfoliation but I am enjoying this product so far. I use it 2-3 times a week. MARIO BADESCU - Aloe Vera Toner I use this alcohol free toner under my eye area to prevent milia & around my nose to combat sebum build up. GO-TO - Face Hero I would give this oil 6 starts if I could! It is amazing. So light & soothing yet incredibly moisturising. JOSIE MARAN - Argan Moonstone Drops Makeup Priming and Highlighting Oil I don’t wear make up often, but when I do I use this oil because it doubles as a primer. It has a shimmer in it that makes my skin glow. GO-TO - Zincredible 15 Tinted I use this as my morning moisturiser. It is slightly tinted so provides some coverage & also has SPF15+. MECCA - To Save Face SPF50+ Superscreen For days when I need full sun protection, I use this product. Despite being SPF50+ it still feels light on my face. It also has a slight tint through it. Perfect for beach days! 💇🏼‍♀️ Hair care (top shelf) KEVIN.MURPHY - Blonde.Angel.Wash This is basically a shampoo designed for... well, blondes. It prevents your colour from going brassy. It is also sulphate free. KEVIN.MURPHY - Blonde.Angel Treatment This is a treatment conditioner that pairs well with the Blonde Angel Wash. Together they help me me maintain my cool blonde tones in between hair appointments. MR.SMITH - Mr. Smith Blond This is a very effective, fast working treatment that also tones the brassiness out of blonde hair. My hair tends to go brassy very easily so I use this product once a fortnight to prevent that. KEVIN.MURPHY - Heated.Defense This is a new product for me & I have used it a handful of times & overall been happy with its effectiveness at protecting my hair when I blow dry it. KEVIN.MURPHY - Shimmer Me Blonde I LOVE this product. Spray at the end of styling your hair to give your blonde tones some extra shimmer & shine. KEVIN.MURPHY - Doo Over This product is like a 3 in 1. It is a light hold finishing spray, adds texture and also works as a dry shampoo. 💆🏼‍♀️ Other 100BON - Davana & Vanille Bourbon EDP This is my daily scent. Very affordable & smells divine. Doesn’t last all day unfortunately buy still great. MYAURA ORGANICS - All Natural Deodorant Bergamont Lime Coconut I’m big on aluminium free deodorant. I love the lime scent from this brand.

Deep Hydration Face Oil w/ Avocado Oil

#Illumine Lab - Deep Hydration Face Oil w/ Avocado Oil + Hyaluronic Acid[products]# I really enjoy using this oil. I know it’s for the face but I sometimes put it in my lotion to give my skin an extra boost of hydration for the day. It gives great moisture to the skin. I normally just use this in conjunction with my face moisturizing lotion. During the summer I use jus the oil by itself. For the price of $6 from TJ Maxx, this Face oil does wonders for my skin.

Face oil for acne!
Face oil for acne!
The product✨ The Fourth Ray Beauty after hours detox oil. This oil has a combination of bamboo charcoal, salicylic acid, tea tree, and watermelon seed to treat your skin as you sleep by absorbing impurities, and help nourish the skin, and support skin clarity. You warm a few drops in your palms and pat into the skin. This is a pretty lightweight-thin oil that absorbs quickly into the skin. ••• My thoughts✨ I’ve had this oil for a few months now, and I don’t hate it. Because I have oily skin I was quite apprehensive about adding an oil to my routine (even though I’ve heard countless people talk about how great they can be for oily skin), with that said the acne fighting ingredients included in this oil intrigued me. Despite the oil being black it leaves absolutely no residue. I do find I have to shake it up because what I assume is charcoal residue sinks to the bottom, so I shake it well before using. This oil comes in a half ounce bottle for $10 which I think I very reasonable especially because it’s lasts so long! Now I’m really not sure this product has done much for my skin, I like using because I do think it adds a little boost of hydration, but I don’t see any kind of improvement in my skin when I use this vs when I don’t use it, and I’ve tried using it as a spot treatment, but it didn’t do much to reduce any blemishes (maybe percentage of salicylic acid and tea tree aren’t high enough??)...overall I think It’s an okay product and I’ll continue using it until it’s gone but I probably won’t repurchase. I also don’t like the bottle, I prefer products with droppers but this one is kind of hard to get product out of, you have to kinda shake it and then sometimes too much will come out, and it’s annoying. ••• Fourth Ray - After Hours Detox Face Oil

Good Molecules Rosehip Oil Product Claims: Rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and vitamins to help hydrate and nourish skin. Contains Vitamin C, to target aging and sun damage. Also contains Provitamin A, to gently promote cellular regeneration. Product Concerns: Dull skin, Skin texture, Aging skin, Acne skin Texture: light oil Thoughts: The best rosehip oil that I have tried. I use it every morning because it is so good at giving you a glow, but not leaving you greasy. The size of the product is perfect, as you only need so little at a time. It ensures that the product is used before it expires. It has helped immensely with hydration. Since it is non-comedogenic, I always use it on top of my breakouts without being scared that I will break out from it. Would I recommend to others: Yes. Everything about It is perfect and will be a repurchase of mine. Price: $10 !!!!! for 0.44 oz

Bio-Oil doubles as face oil?
Bio-Oil doubles as face oil?
So Ive been using #Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil[products]#[FiveStars] for amount 4 months and am in love. 😍 I was never huge on using oils just cause I’ve had oily skin before, recently my skin turned kinda combination; I would say 🤷🏻‍♀️ (lol) I have dry patches around my nose and forehead but the rest of my face seems to still have high oil. 🙄 I heard some ladies mention using this on there face nightly (even ones with oily skin) and I had already bought this for some scarring I had on my legs (see my page for post) which it worked GREAT for. So I thought what the hell, why not. I means there’s a pandemic, and I can’t go outside so let’s oil up bb. 🤗 In all seriousness though it did work great, on both my scars and face. My oil patches on my nose went away, but yet didn’t make me over oily. My face also just feels better, soft and fresh, it feels like I’m glowing every morning. So give this a try! P.S - a little goes a long way! 😉 let me know if you love this, or end up trying it! Love xoxo B

Facial oils - my experience

Top 2020 Skincare: Facial Oil
Top 2020 Skincare: Facial Oil
I saw this happening on Insta and thought it would be fun to participate on Cherie! All month I’ll be posting my top 2020 skincare essentials in accordance to the schedule on the 2nd pic, so follow me if you want to see all my faves of this year! Up next- Facial oil :) 🍯DESERT ESSENCE - Organic Jojoba Oil I have a whole post dedicated to oils and why they’re so great, but long story short, they remove makeup, balance combo skin, keep pores clear, boost your moisturizer (or even replace it with some hydration layered underneath), can be mixed with makeup, and be used in your hair. The options are limitless. I recommend doing some research on carrier oils to find what’s best suited to your skin, but jojoba will work on anyone. I also suggest sticking to pure oils, or simple blends, without a lot of filler ingredients or fragrances to maximize the multi-use aspect. I prefer transferring mine to a dropper bottle to minimize leakage, so that’s why it’s not in it’s original packaging.
