My nightly routine w/retinal
Every night I choose a facial wash depending on how my face is feeling and what I’d like to be using. When I will be working with retinal in my routine, I like to start with a nice gentle exfoliation like TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser It’s a gentle enough cleanser to use every day but I choose to use it 3-4 times a week. It’s a beautiful light scent and I love how soft it is on my skin, yet manages to exfoliate. I definitely recommend this cleanser if you’re a bit worried about working with physical exfoliants. It’s nothing to fear. 💜 Then again as I stated I’m using my retinal tonight so I want to be sure to have a very hydrated face. Hydration is key for me as retinal can be very drying for my skin. I use a lot of hydrating toners and essences to really plump up my skin before adding the retinal. These would be TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener & INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner & YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil (these are just some I use) They all give my face the layer of hydration needed to move forward. Then I come in with Medik8 - Crystal Retinal I’m loving the retinal as I’ve only had small white heads surface and easily disappear. I did notice my skin becoming drier when I went up to level 6 but again, found a way to combat that. I’ve only been working with retinal a short few months so I have no results to share at this time. And finally when I am working with a strong active (such as retinal) I lather my face in moisturizer. I had yet to find a night time face mask that worked for me until I discovered this beauty YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask It’s the perfect consistency for my skin. Never a heavy, oily, sticky feeling. Just sinks in and keeps my face locked in moisture. And all the added benefits, it’s heart throbbing 💗 get excited over this one ya’ll! It’s good! And I always use an eye cream, day or night. And am loving FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry I’ve noticed a remarkable difference in the dark circles and just tone of my skin all around my eye. Hope me sharing my night time retinal routine can be helpful for some of you. I’m always here to answer questions

Where my homies at? 🙋‍♀️
Where my homies at? 🙋‍♀️ . Pictured are a few of my favorite products I am using right now. I tried to give a good variety from cleansers, toners, serums (actives), eye cream, moisturizers and oils. I forgot my essences which I have been using a lot of hydrating ones. . ———- Has your state/county started to lift restrictions? (WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED) We now have salons (hair and nail), gyms and pools open. And professional sports can play without spectators. This week, restaurants and some fast food places are beginning to open with a limit on customers as they must abide by social distancing regulations. My husband said one of the malls was opening this weekend as well. . Personally I can’t form an opinion on this. I haven’t listened to the news in a month. I’m hoping those in charge of making these decisions have carefully weighed the pros/cons and know what the hell they are doing. I fear still for our hospitals but again, I am not sure if our government feels we are more prepared. I try to stay away from the news as it causes a lot of anxiety for me. I seriously hope one day soon we will see the toilet paper isle fully stocked and feel like we quite possibly all were apart of a big prank! - seriously, we have not seen tp in months!!! And when my husband finally spotted paper towels - you know, the ones where you need the entire roll to clean up a mess - they wanted $10 for 2 cheap rolls! Ugh! . Blessings to you all! Stay safe and be well! 💚

Have you ever heard of Tansy Oil?
Skin Type- Currently turning Combo as the weather gets warmer Concerns- Hormonal Breakouts, Uneven Texture One of my favorite skincare ingredients is blue tansy oil. I find not a lot of skincare products use this and when my skin is TRULY on the verge of freaking the f out - whether it's hormonal or redness, my Herbivore Lapis is ALWAYS handy and takes control. I will use this as the last step in my skincare routine. I find that oils tend to work better after you moisturize and apply over. I've used this for over two years now. I'm not sure what YouTube influencer mentioned it, but it has definitely become a staple enough for me to purchase a full size. I do not use this every day, however Lapis usually makes her way to me every time I get my friendly female friend. I will make sure to use this and I truly find that it helps with any redness or breakouts I have going on. Lapis is high in Azulene, which is where this oil gets is blue color from naturally. Azulene helps to soothe dry irritated skin, reduce the appearance of redness and balance oily skin, so yes if you have oily skin, this OIL is actually good to use!

Is It Worth The Money?
Sunday Riley is the brand I never quite know where I stand with. I have tried some products I’ve loved and others I returned very quickly. The UFO clarifying oil is one I just can not figure out. It’s an oil more than a serum so I always put it last in the nightly routine. For the first couple of days using it it helps with the major acne I can’t get rid of. But after a week or so of using it. I get small little bumps that take months to get my skin right again. I couldn’t bring myself to return it when I bought it cause it did help. However the longer I use it the more it seems to upset my skin. Currently I still have it because I paid a hella lot of money for this small bottle. And I’m using it to shave with (facial Derma). I have had the bottle for a very long time now. And I am almost out of it. Would I buy this product again. No way! But I wouldn’t not buy from Sunday Riley again, it’s about finding what works and this did not for me. If anyone has any advice on its use or if I’m doing something wrong please leave a comment. Thanks!

Current skincare cabinet! Pt. 1
As an esty & a product junkie I basically like to try and test a little bit of everything! This is my current shelf situation and I’ve reached the point of having no room left, so I suppose it’s time for a no-buy until I use some of this up! Fountain of Youth- This is a professional brand that uses vegan, organic, and natural ingredients from the earth in their formulas. Super gentle, yet also effective! I have drier, acne-prone skin which seems a bit contradicting, but both of the cleansers they offer suite my skin fine. They are a gel formula that creates a sight lather but not in a stripping/drying way! The Dream Skin Toner from their line is suited for normal/dry skin and is actually a gel consistency that changes to a liquid when it comes in contact with the skin. It’s hydrating and leaves the skin feeling comfortable and balanced. As for the two serums I own, Dream Serum(Vit C) and Rewind Serum(Glycolic acid), these are both hits in my book as well. They don’t make my skin sensitive nor have I had any adverse reactions, very gentle and effective! The Rewind Eye Cream is a great consistency, not too thick but just right. I honestly don’t have much to say about eye creams because I’m not too picky! As long as it doesn’t cause clogged pores to form under my eyes it’s good in my book! The Blueberry Açaí Masque is basically a superfood exfoliating smoothie that’s great for acne prone skin. It’s a kaolin clay base that helps draw out the nasty’s in your pores with glycolic acid to exfoliate. This mask does make your skin tingle a bit, but not sting or burn! It helps clear active breakouts on my skin really effectively. Lastly, the Micropeel Facial Scrub is actually a top-selling item for this brand. It’s a micro sugar crystal based scrub that also has pumpkin and papaya enzymes in it to give a physical and chemical exfoliation. Personally, I feel like this scrub is a bit abrasive, the sugar does melt quickly but I find it still to be a bit too harsh and prefer others. My overall thoughts on the line are that the products are effective and gentle, fairly priced, and suitable for all skin types, even sensitive(I would skip the Micropeel if extremely sensitive though!). If you’re into more natural skincare definitely give this a go! This will continue in future posts by brand so this is kept a bit short! Let me know if you see something in particular you’d like a review on sooner. xoxo, estysidney https://fountainofyouthskincare.com

The Squalane For You
This face oil by Biossance is truly a wonder for my skin. I tried a sample size of it a little over a year ago and it really was one of the first oils that actually helped with my acne and sensitive skin. So when they had this full size as apart of a huge set, I jumped at the chance to finally add this oil to my routine. I feel as though it works well for most skin types. I have semi dry/oily sensitive skin and this oil doesn’t irritate or cause any redness. It has a very subtle rose scent to it. Nothing too over powering. You only need a few drops to apply to your entire face and neck. I feel as though it works well with even acne prone skin. It doesn’t cause any breakouts... but it does help heal and soothe already prominent blemishes. It leaves your skin super soft in the morning!!! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

In love with this. ❤️
I got this as a sample from Sephora and the first time I used it, I knew I was going to have to buy it. I used it at night and the next day my skin was GLOWING. I used up the little sample bottle and bought the full size. With the full size, I started to knock it down to 3x weekly use instead of every night and that still works for me. Before quarantine happened, my coworkers would comment that my skin looked glowy. The other day over FaceTime, my friend commented on my skin’s glowy-ness which I must say is completely attributed to this product! So all in all, I’m obsessed with it and I think everyone should buy it. The only downside is the price because it’s kinda expensive. However, with my using it only 3x per week I think it’s going to last me a long time so the investment in your skin is soooo worth it!! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

My Morning Skin Routine for Acne-Prone Skin
No one enjoys having a blemish. Or ten! It can be distracting and make you feel far less confident than you would normally be, so your A.M. skin routine is vital to your skin’s overall health. Tip for those with acne – When you sleep, your body repairs itself. This includes your skin! Your face creates the healthiest oils while we sleep, exuding oils that nourish the skin (the good kind of oils, even when you have oily skin and don’t think ‘good oils’ are possible!) When you over-wash your face, your skin will overcompensate by producing MORE oil! So only use minimal water in the morning, or none at all, to keep some of those healthy-restorative-night-oils throughout the day. By doing this regularly, you will see: ·       Less breakouts ·       Less oil production ·       And healthier skin that glows naturally! With this in mind, I gently pat my face with some water and then apply these products: ❤️Fresh Lotus Anti-Aging Moisturizer – Yes, this is intended for night-use, BUT! The reason I use this in the morning is that it is such a lightweight moisturizer. I love nighttime products because they are really meant to sit on your skin like frosting and do that repair-work I mentioned earlier. I simply allow this product to do that in the daytime! 😊 Price: $48.00 Reviews: 4.5-stars out of 1K+ reviews, 50K+ likes Scent: Floral and gentle, slightly peachy Best for Skin types: Normal, Dry, Oily, or Combination Used for: Dryness and wrinkles Note: You should apply the most concentrated product first, and then put heavier lotions on last.   Next, I mix in my decadent oil from Herbivore, Phoenix Cell Regenerating. The Herbivore brand is one of my favorites because the products are vegan, high-quality, and magic on my acne! ❤️Herbivore Phoenix Cell Regenerating  Just as the name describes, you will rise like a phoenix and greet the new day like a bird rising from the ashes!! This product is intended for morning use, so I use different oils at night by Herbivore (such as Lapis and Emerald, which are also highly effective for oily skin). Price: $88.00 Reviews: 4.5 out of 226 reviews, 30K+ likes Scent: Orchid, floral, rosehip oil, sea buckthorn oil Best for skin types: All skin types, great for dry skin too Used for: Firmness, wrinkles, and moisturizing  Lastly, I lather on my sunscreen from Meaningful Beauty with SPF 30. SPF 30 is the ideal sunscreen level for protection against UVB and UVA rays, with any higher SPF actually doing very little. ❤️Sunscreen is vital girls! It protects us from aging prematurely and getting the fine lines we don’t want. Lather on your sunscreen like butter and be LIBERAL about how much you apply! This product is created by Cindy Crawford using her age-defying melon formula. It also protects against blue-light emissions caused by our screen time (phones, computer screens, etc.) these also cause fine lines to appear, so this product is a real miracle worker! Price: $65.00 Reviews: not listed Scent: Creamy sunscreen (not oily or shiny) Best for skin types: All skin types Used for: Sun protection, blue light emission protection, anti-aging, and fine-lines.   With this trio at work, I am ready to face the day and put my best face forward! Keep shining, baby loves!

BEST Oils for Oily-Prone Skin – Yes, You Need Oil Too!
You may believe that your oil skin needs to be stripped of all oils. As someone that has always been shiny by noon, I understand the pain of feeling like a grease-ball. I did everything in my power to dry up patches of oil and keep it dry – only causing myself to break out more and more. What I didn’t know then is that oily skin still needs oils! In fact, if you strip your oily skin of their natural inclination for oil – It will only produce more oil, causing you to break out considerably worse or end up significantly oilier than you started.Yes, by stripping your skin of oils, you only make more oil on your skin.So the solution? Add healthy oils back onto your skin that won’t clog your pores.I was reluctant and prepared for a breakout when I tried Herbivores line of oils. To my surprise:·       My acne cleared up·       My skin had noticeable smaller pores in 1-2 days·       My skin was less oilyYou can see by the pictures that I have been going through these oils fast! I use them and I love them. The 4 products that I’m currently using from Herbivore Botanicals are as follows:·       Phoenix Oil – Like rising from the ashes, you will feel revitalizes with this morning glow serum that is perfect to apply first thing in the morning before makeup. This is a stunning blend of rose hip, omega fatty acids, and sea buckthorn oil to deeply nourish.Best for:o   Dry skino   Anti-agingo   Dull skino   Morning use ·       Lapis Oil – This product won Readers’ Choice Beauty Award for Best Natural Skin Care Product by Glamour in 2020. Using the flower that creates Blue Tansy oil, Lapis helps to balance combination skin and clear breakouts.Best for:o   Acne-Prone skino   Oily skino   Combination skino   Morning and night use ·       Emerald Oil – This product is made of CBD, Cannabis Extract, and Hemp oil to use nature’s powers for a noticeable glow. With over 70 attempts of this concoction created before they settled on the best formula I’ve ever tried; this is my go-to oil for calming redness and making my skin feel fresh.Best for:o   Dry skino   Redness and inflammationo   Acne-prone skino   Morning and night use ·       Bakuchiol Oil – Lastly in your routine, use this retinol-alternative soothing serum for anti-aging care before bed. Known to seal in hydration to the skin, this is a gentler alternative to retinol which doesn’t react well with many sensitive skin types.Best for:o   Fine lines and wrinkleso   Dry skino   Uneven textureo   Night useI hope these work for you and that this tip helps at least one oil-skinned person stop stripping their skin of all oils! Adding more will actually close up your pores, as counterintuitive as that seems.

products for: irritated skin
This facial oil (HERBIVORE - Emerald Hemp Seed Deep Moisture Glow Oil ) really hits all the marks for my sensitive and irritated skin! I have combo skin right now, as well as acne prone. My undereyes, nose, and chin get super dry, while my cheeks and forehead are normal (not dry or oily.) I get breakouts around my mouth (hormonal and dairy hahah) and on my T zone mostly. Claims: — hydrates skin — calm and nourish skin — fast absorbing — lit from within glow — vegan, cruelty free, gluten free Key ingredients: — hemp seed oil — squalane (mimics human skin squaLENE) — adaptogen — meadowfoam seed oil My thoughts: — this oil is surprisingly lightweight! I can use it at night post moisturizer as a PM oil or in the daytime mixed in with a moisturizer to add some glow and hydration. I think it works really well both ways, which I can’t say for many oils. — this doesn’t leave me greasy or oily looking, unless I use too much and I only do that at night time. The adaptogens in this protect and soothe from environmental factors, so I like using this in the day time too. — gives me a substantial amount of hydration, but most importantly, soothes my irritated skin! I have rosacea and this soothes my red inflamed skin pretty fast, and I apply this if I ever have a negative reaction to something or if I get too heated. — the hemp oil in this is really nice on my skin, and I like that it’s not super thick because most hemp oils are. — $48, which is a little too pricey for me, but this was a gift from a friend.

Let’s talk about lips baby !
These products saved my lips. My lips were cracked and dry. Peeling at times too I normally just use Vaseline or some sort of lip balm to sooth the dryness but it only lasted about 20 mins and then my lips were dry again . I bought the Elf lip Exfoliater and I’m in love with them! I take about 2-3 mins and scrub my lips in circular motion , then leave it on for another two mins. Then I wipe my lips clean with a cotton pad. My lips are super soft after and the dead skin is easily removable . I follow up with The ordinary Rose Hip Seed Oil. Just a drop and rub it in. Lastly I add the pout perfecting mask ( at night of course ) to help add more moisture through the night. My lips were soft and moist after the first night 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 What is your lip care routine ? How do you keep your lips juicy 👄?

Holy Grail Face Oil
Holy Grail Face Oil
Luxurious is the perfect adjective for the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. I’ll be honest - I was not a fan AT ALL of facial oils before this one. I have combination skin; mostly oily with some dry patches here & there. I tried a handful of facial oils from other brands and I always looked like I stood in front of a fryer for 23 hours. When I received the DE Littles kit a few months ago, I figured I would give facial oil one more chance; I created my first DE smoothie using protini, 2 pumps of b-hydra and 2 drops of the Marula oil - I was in love. My skin felt so nourished, soft, and hydrated. I couldn’t stop touching my face, saying “wow” to myself! Fast forward to today, I mix 2-3 drops each night for my night time routine. This facial oil is a must have for me & definitely here to stay. 💛 There are absolutely no additives - Drunk Elephant takes the ingredient straight from the Marula fruit leaving it untouched, delivering a product to consumers that is in its purest form. Loaded with beneficial antioxidants and omegas 6 & 9, this facial oil seeps into the skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, redness, and blotchiness, while giving you youthful, hydrated glow. I should also add that this product is versatile considering it can also be used for your nail cuticles and hair. Available in several sizes, the price point ranges from $40-$72, but Drunk Elephant also has gift sets and kits that contain mini sizes of this product (which will last you awhile). I also love the packaging / component of this product; it certainly gives you luxury vibes. The minis come in a pump component, where as the midi and full size come in a luxurious glass dropper. I 100% believe the price is right, especially since there is a variety of sizes ranging in price to accommodate whatever budget it is that you may have. I am a firm believer that skincare is a worthy investment; your makeup only looks as good as what is underneath.

Kosas Tinted Face Oil
Kosas Tinted Face Oil
So I’ve been testing out the Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation for a bit now and wanted to share my thoughts!⁣ ⁣ Pros: This is the easiest “foundation” to apply. A little goes a long way and I only use 4 drops for my whole face. It covers up redness really well and feels weightless on the skin, creating the closest thing to a “my skin but better” look that I’ve come across from the products in my makeup arsenal. ⁣ ⁣ I was apprehensive about putting a tinted oil on my face as someone who lives in a humid climate and has combination skin, but I actually feel like this product does a great job of both offering the coverage necessary to leave your skin still looking natural but more even-toned, and also providing another layer of moisture that I feel does not just simply sit on the skin and feel heavy. ⁣ ⁣ The product is an oil, but it is NOT oily. I feel like this is what all of those skin tints you see on the market that don’t even do anything were trying to be but fell short on. ⁣ ⁣ This fades SO EVENLY if applied properly. No matter how good a product looks when I first apply it, I usually return home noticing I’m an oily mess in my t-zone and a flaky disaster in other areas, with pigment gone on like 1/2 my face. This somehow fades so well and I’m really pleased with that. ⁣ ⁣ Cons: ⁣ The company claims that this skin oil, with a shade range of 16, can be worn across 48 skin tones. I have shades 2 and 3 and I just don’t think that that is possible given the range they provide. ⁣ ⁣ I’m currently going through the beginning bit of a skin purge from my new prescription tretinoin, which has left me with both active breakouts and dry texture in addition to my combo skin. The product did end up emphasizing my dry texture after a few hours but I want to mention that on the days before I started tretinoin the face oil lasted me through the day and wore off evenly. Kosas also mentions that because this product does not contain silicone, it works best on exfoliated skin since silicones are used to smoothen out rough texture — so I think that this could really just be a circumstantial error. DON’T use this with skincare products that do contain silicone, like I made the mistake of doing, because it WILL CAUSE A TON OF PILLING and you will have to start all over again. ⁣ ⁣ My rating is a 4.5/5. I think this would honestly suit most skin types just depending on the current state of your skin. I think the price ($42) is fair for the fact that it is a standard size foundation but takes far less product to do the job!

Face oil for acne!
Face oil for acne!
The product✨ The Fourth Ray Beauty after hours detox oil. This oil has a combination of bamboo charcoal, salicylic acid, tea tree, and watermelon seed to treat your skin as you sleep by absorbing impurities, and help nourish the skin, and support skin clarity. You warm a few drops in your palms and pat into the skin. This is a pretty lightweight-thin oil that absorbs quickly into the skin. ••• My thoughts✨ I’ve had this oil for a few months now, and I don’t hate it. Because I have oily skin I was quite apprehensive about adding an oil to my routine (even though I’ve heard countless people talk about how great they can be for oily skin), with that said the acne fighting ingredients included in this oil intrigued me. Despite the oil being black it leaves absolutely no residue. I do find I have to shake it up because what I assume is charcoal residue sinks to the bottom, so I shake it well before using. This oil comes in a half ounce bottle for $10 which I think I very reasonable especially because it’s lasts so long! Now I’m really not sure this product has done much for my skin, I like using because I do think it adds a little boost of hydration, but I don’t see any kind of improvement in my skin when I use this vs when I don’t use it, and I’ve tried using it as a spot treatment, but it didn’t do much to reduce any blemishes (maybe percentage of salicylic acid and tea tree aren’t high enough??)...overall I think It’s an okay product and I’ll continue using it until it’s gone but I probably won’t repurchase. I also don’t like the bottle, I prefer products with droppers but this one is kind of hard to get product out of, you have to kinda shake it and then sometimes too much will come out, and it’s annoying. ••• Fourth Ray - AFTER HOURS DETOX FACE OIL

I normally just use this in conjunction with my face moisturizing lotion. During the summer I use jus the oil by itself. For the price of $6 from TJ Maxx, this Face oil does wonders for my skin.

indie brand alert! & a facial oil I recommend
indie brand alert! & a facial oil I recommend
This review has been a very long time coming. I’ve been using this mini for a considerable amount of time now, and I’ve shot content for it like four times, and ended up being unhappy with most of the shots. WILD MAGIC BEAUTY - MOON LIGHT - Goji Berry + Sea Buckthorn Facial Oil Wild Magic Beauty is a small business/indie brand inspired by ancient Eastern wisdom. Moon Light was formulated with “one key idea in mind: to provide your skin the nutrients it needs for a soft dreamy glow.” Key Ingredients: nourishing superfruit seed oils including pomegranate, blueberry, raspberry, tamanu, green tea, sea buckthorn, and goji Berry & delivers antioxidants, vitamins, and fatty acids. The oils are non-comedogenic! It smells kind of fruity and floral, but not overwhelming! The texture is a lightweight oil that feels luxurious and works great at sealing in moisture. I think that Moonlight is my favorite product from this brand because it works so well for my skin type. It’s so hydrating, but not so heavy that I’m left looking like an oil slick (except at night, but that’s my business). A full size is $48, which is more affordable than most high end oils these days. Do I think it’s worth $48? No, not really. It takes a lot for me to justify anything over $30, but if money is not an issue, this oil is wonderful! #cheriecreator
