Protecting your skin from the inside out
Protecting your skin can mean many things! Protecting your skin from the damaging effects of sun is a huge one. It’s one we all know and if you’re obsessed with skincare you probably have your favorite sunscreen! I’m rotating through a few right now but I’m really enjoying the unseen screen from supergoop. Ok that’s an obvious one, now to the next. Free radicals. Free radicals can wreck havoc on your body and on your skin. They can cause cancer and premature aging and wrinkles. And they’re something you can avoid because they’re in our environment, daily. There are ways to contact free radicals though! And that’s through antioxidants. This LILY SADO - Green Tea + Vitamin C Antioxidant Moisturizer moisturizer not only works to brighten the skin with vitamin c but it also fights free radicals with green tea, which is a potent and well known antioxidant! Green tea in your skincare is great but so is fighting free radicals from the inside! I love to drink green tea, I drink it daily. There are so many benefits such as boosting the metabolism and of course being high in those antioxidants.

My favorite sunscreen Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I finally included sun protection in my skin care routine! I stumbled upon this sunscreen at Urban Outfitters and I bought it for fun just to try it out and used it during the humid summer weather in NYC. Once you apply this on your skin it feels so smooth and light. I’m not a make up person so it’s my final step of my skin routine. Honestly so happy I bought this sunscreen! My least favorite sunscreen CLARINS - Sunscreen for Face Wrinkle Control Cream SPF 50 I never really wasn’t really a sunscreen person and used to it wasn’t necessary. I bought the Clarins when I traveling in Europe and I used it for couple months during winter and summer. I honestly didn’t like it at all, it leaves your skin with white cast and dry and sometimes it gets in your eyes and it stings.

Drunk Elephant Line Rapid Review: Part 1
Brief peeks into my latest opinions of various Drunk Elephant products: • DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser is a deep-cleaning gel cleanser that is strong enough to take off sweat and sunscreen, but I find it needs a primary cleanse if I’m wearing makeup. Can be bit harsh if I’m having an eczema flare-up but is otherwise gentle and good for most skin. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is a super gentle balm cleanser that I love to leave on as a moisturizing mask before I use it to wash off my makeup. Doesn’t irritate my eyes and is perfect for sensitive skin. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum is a potent vitamin c serum that lightens hyperpigmentation very well within months of use. However, it is too potent for my skin, so I dilute it heavily if I use it. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum makes skin so soft and smooth! It helps bumpy texture wonderfully. Again, super potent- I have to be sure to use a small amount dilute in a serum and applied over top of my moisturizer. Improves skin texture very fast. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Moisturizer with Ceramides is and always will be a favourite. Creamy yet fluffy. Rich and quenching. Perfect for sensitive skin. Never leaves me shiny! • DRUNK ELEPHANT - F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask is another favourite- it’s perfect for dehydrated, dry, or sensitive skin. I always use it after an acid product to prevent inflammation and sensitivity. A surprising texture, due to the beads of fatty acids, and it soaks in quickly. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial 25% AHA + 2% BHA Mask is so, so, so potent! It’s amazing. A single use leaves my skin baby soft and glowing. However, the potency that gives instant results makes it so strong that I can only use it every other week. But I’ll keep doing so because it’s so wonderful feeling my smooth, soft skin afterwards. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Antioxidant Face Oil is the best oil I’ve ever tried in terms of super fast absorption and lack of shine. It leaves me dewy, not greasy, and a couple drops is the perfect boost to my moisturizers. It is a bit pricy though considering I only use it in the PM unless it’s winter, making the quick absorption only important for 3 months of the year. • DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 No white cast, no tingling, no congestion. Buuut I am a little shiny if I use this in the summer, so this is my preferred winter sunscreen and would be perfect for dry-skinned folks.

Top Tips for Treating Hyperpigmentation!
I have combination, oily skin that is prone to breakouts, the breakouts lead to hyperpigmentation which is my biggest skin concern. I've been dealing with hyperpigmentation for what seems like forever and have learned some important tips when it comes to it! Tip #1: Use SPF religiously! For anyone dealing with hyperpigmentation this is the most important tip because the sun's UV rays can cause pigmentation to darken. SPF is also essential because many treatments for hyperpigmentation, like acids, can cause the skin to be even more sensitive to the sun. My top SPFs are: elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Supergoop! - 100% Mineral Smooth & Poreless Matte Screen SPF 40 SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 Tip #2: Use Vitamin C in your routine! Vitamin C is an antioxidant that lightens dark spots, it also contains an enzyme that helps to prevent melanin production - effectively preventing hyperpigmentation! My Vitamin C products are: SKINCEUTICALS - Phloretin CF FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry URBAN SKIN Rx - Even Tone Smooth & Glow Enzyme Mask Tip #3: Niacinamide is a powerhouse at fighting pigmentation! Similar to vitamin C, niacinamide fights and prevents hyperpigmentation. It also helps to treat acne which for many of us is the main cause of our hyperpigmentation! My favorite products with niacinamide are: PETER THOMAS ROTH - PRO Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Tip #4: Add a retinoid to your routine! Retinoids speed up the cell turnover rate, which for pigmentation means it helps to fade dark spots faster. I use a tretinoin, which is a prescription you can get from your dermatologist, but there are other great options like retinol! Here are my favorite retinol products: SKINCEUTICALS - RETINOL 0.5 Retinol night cream DIFFERIN - Acne Treatment Gel Additional Tips: Acid is your friend, but don't overdo it! Protect your moisture barrier! Healthy skin will heal the fastest! If your breakouts are hormonal, you may need to do some research into your diet! I've cut dairy and eggs because my body doesn't tolerate them and they were leading to hormonal breakouts.

SPF ☀️
SPF💙 ☀️One of the most important things for your skin and your skincare routine. This helps with anti-aging, dark spots, facial redness and of course helps prevent skin cancer so why don’t more people use it? ☀️ It took me forever to hop on the sunscreen train because I have memories of sunscreen being thick, sticky and chalky with a dog pulling at a little girls bathing suit on the bottle. All of that is appalling so why would I want to go back?🤣 ☀️Luckily, sunscreen has come a LONG way and now comes in various forms. It’s in moisturizers and make-up now too! There are lots of ways to incorporate it so it’s just about finding what you enjoy. ☀️My favorite chemical screens is currently the mini and empty angel on the left. This is the Paula’s Choice Youth-Extending Hydrating Fluid. It’s basically the feel of a moisturizer but in the form of SPF 50. It’s fairly liquidy so it blends in quickly and doesn’t feel sticky at all. It even gives me a glow! I just ordered their popular mineral sunscreen as well to see which is the true queen👑 I’m also loving the Mineral Matte Supergoop Sunscreen too!! It doesn’t always rub in perfectly but it’s awesome besides that. ☀️I really struggle with Umbre Tinte personally. It makes my face feel really sticky and that drives me crazy but I’d be willing to try it again because my best friend swears by it. ☀️There are different options in that some are chemical and some are physical. Chemical screens convert sun rays into heat while physical screens reflect the rays. Chemical screens can be sensitizing for some but I personally haven’t had an issue yet. ☀️The key is to find one you like that is SPF 30-50 and wear it everyday, even when you’re inside! Those rays still come through the windows! ☀️What’s your favorite sunscreen? PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid Supergoop! - 100% Mineral Smooth & Poreless Matte Screen SPF 40 FARMACY - Green Defense Daily Mineral Sunscreen

Clean everyday SPF!
Supergoop prides itself in being a clean brand that doesn’t sacrifice its products efficacy and I can absolutely see why! If you head on over to their website and look at their No-List, it has so many ingredients that you will never see in their products! Supergoop! - Everyday Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA ++++ is said to be a “hydrating, fast-absorbing formula [that] provides high performance protection from UVA, UVB, and IRA rays, while also helping prevent photoaging and dehydration.” And it is also water and sweat-resistant, up to 80 minutes! This product is advertised to be fast-absorbing and I’m not too sure what Supergoop’s requirements are to fall under that category. I absolutely LOVE fast-absorbing products and this, unfortunately, did not meet my requirements. I would say it takes a solid 30-60 minutes for it to absorb so that means you are left with greasy, shiny, and sticky skin for 30-60 minutes. Oh, speaking of sticky—Supergoop says this doesn’t leave you sticky either. So I am definitely a confused soul when it comes to what this product actually delivers and what Supergoop claims. If you are afraid of sunscreens that leave a white-cast, like myself, then you don’t have to worry about this one. Definitely no white-cast, which is what I love about this the most! Despite not enjoying this sunscreen as much as others, I am still willing to give Supergoop another try. It may have just been me choosing a product that wasn’t right for my skin type. So I’d probably recommend this to those who lean towards drier skin. I spoke with Supergoop and they kindly checked their master list for me after they had listed all their noncomedogenic sunscreens. This wasn’t originally on the list but after checking, they have found that it IS noncomedogenic which is amazing for us acne-prone folks! 💕

Tatcha treasures
Another set of treasures from @tatcha ! I recently got this trio which is still at a special price on their website . It has the Violet-C brightening serum , the silken pore perfecting sunscreen and the cult favorite Luminous Dewy skin mist. . . I think the Luminous dewy skin mist was the first treasure I was introduced to when I came to know about the brand long back . And after that , there has been no turning back . 💜TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Mist TATCHA - Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++ TATCHA - Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA

Tatcha Silken Sunscreen
My love for all things Tatcha is pretty strong! Their Silken Sunscreen is used to protect your skin from the sun. It also has ingredients that work to help with anti-aging and truly leaves your skin silky after application. It almost feels like a nice matte primer. It is silky and smooth in texture and applies beautifully. This is my second bottle of this sunscreen. I've been using it for about a year now. I was intrigued by its claims to leave you with a matte silky finish as most sunscreens tend to leave me greasy after an hour or so. I absolutely love this product. It works so well with my skin and doesnt break me out. It doesnt leave any white cast after it dries. It's priced pretty high at $65 for 2 ounces, so I can't say that I'd recommend it to everyone. Tatcha does sell a smaller deluxe sample size, so if you cant commit to the full price, that would be a great opportunity. I read that there may be other matte sunscreens out there, so I may purchase a different brand once this bottle runs out! 4.5/5 stars!TATCHA - Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++

Protecting Your Skin
🌼 I have combo skin leaning more dry (probably because I live in Southern California which is essentially a coastal desert and also full of smog and sun so I need all the protection I can get) 🌼 My skin is currently in a pretty good place where it falls more in the normal range but I do still get occasional breakouts and bouts of oiliness and dryness 🌼 Here’s some of my favorite products for protecting my skin: 🌼 Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser: This is a great affordable gel cleanser that’s packed with antioxidants. Anything which Matcha in it is going to be packed with antioxidants. Hemp is also a great ingredient for keeping the skin soothed and hydrated. I like to use this as a morning cleanse or a second evening cleanse. 🌼 Youth to the People Suberberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask: This stuff is magic. It contains Maqui Berry which is actually the most antioxidant rich fruit in the world as well as vitamin C and moisturizing Squalane. I use this at night after my moisturizer and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and bright. My favorite mask of all time. 🌼 Farmacy Very Cherry Bright Serum: This is an awesome vitamin C serum to protect your skin during the day from pollutants, UV rays, blue light, etc. I really like this for my combo skin because it’s a lightweight gel that contains four different types of hyaluronic acid and keeps my skin hydrated and plump but not oily or sticky. I use this every morning after my toners and before oils/moisturizers. 🌼 Purito Green Level Safe Sun: Never forget sunscreen. It’s the absolute most important product you can use to protect your skin. I love this because it’s affordable, lightweight, and doesn’t leave a white cast. I apply this after moisturizer in the mornings (and don’t forget to reapply every 2 hours)

Hmmmm
PURITO - Centella Green Level Safe Sun A hyped sunscreen from Purito. SPF50+ PA+++ which I LOVE. Always have full and max protection. I started off with not liking the sunscreen that much actually. I guess people hyped it up so much I believed it was going to be miraculous. I have learned to appreciate it more now and I love the smell on the original one. To this day I have a hard time for it in one aspect; it takes forever to dry down. It sits on top of my face for the longest time while I’m only putting on the amount you should to properly protect yourself from the sun. I don’t want to compromise that amount so if I have time, that’s when I put this on. But it is lightweight, like I said it smells good, no white cast and doesn’t leave one too greasy. I really enjoy this sunscreen and it’s a shame my mom stole it from me when going on a trip lol as I only have 20% of it left lol. Side note, if you want to protect the under eye or areas around the eye I wouldn’t recommend this as it stings quite bad. But for the price it’s a super affordable sunscreen that works well and smells super good. If you have a little time to spare for it to sink in to your skin I recommend this.

First post!! Current Skin Care Products :)
One great thing to come out of this crazy time is my rejuvenated commitment to a solid skincare routine! This is a mix of products that are both old and new to me, but I’m loving them all! In the morning, I only use Mamonde - Rose Water Gel Cream , Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado , and it Cosmetics - Confidence In A Neck Cream Moisturizer , and lastly elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 if I am heading outside :) At night I use everything else except sunscreen, and change out the gel moisturizer for FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream (NOT PICTURED) I just recently introduced Retinol into my routine, but I only use it once a week and make sure not to use any acne medication when I use it (also not pictured because it’s prescribed by my dermatologist). So far I am liking RoC - Retinol Correxion, Deep Wrinkle Night Cream but it’s too early to tell if it is having a significant impact. I use a Sulfur face wash prescribed by my dermatologist which is also not pictured! I am waiting on a new toner to come in, thinking about introducing a chemical exfoliant once a week, and also micellar water. If you have any feedback or suggestions I am super open!

☀️ sun care ☀️
Spf is an absolute must! These are my favorite so far. I always apply spf after my skincare and before primer. All of these make my skin glow. Dr Dennis Gross: has no scent and after I apply it it doesn’t pill and doesn’t leave a white cast on my face. Dr Dennis Gross - Dark Spot Sun Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Supergoop! Unseen sunscreen: it comes out clear and it leaves my skin matte. Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Shiseido urban environment: its liquid so you have to shake it. Has a very slight scent but one of my favorites. SHISEIDO - Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 42 Biossance sheer mineral sunscreen: smells a little like spf but it blend really well into the skin. BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ Coola mineral sun silk creme: super soft and leaves my skin semi matte. COOLA - Mineral Sun Silk Crème SPF 30

I have combination-oily skin. Below are a few products I often use before I put on makeup. Lancôme Sunscreen LANCÔME - UV Expert Aquagel Defense Primer & Moisturizer SPF 50 Star rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This product is very moisturizing and is perfect for autumn and winter, but is a little too greasy for summer. It is milky white and spreads easily, but it doesn't really even out skin tone and easily forms a film on the skin. Chanel CC Cream 10 Beige CHANEL - CC CREAM Super Active Correction Complete Sunscreen SPF 50 Star rating: ⭐️⭐️ It's a heavy liquid which conceals well and evens out skin tone. Only a little amount is needed for the entire face. But any makeup afterwards just separates, cakes and peels off easily. It is definitely not for oily skin types.👎 Chantecaille Tinted Moisturizer CHANTECAILLE - Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 Star rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It is suitable for most skin types. I recommended this one, the Alabaster shade, the most out of these four. It creates a really natural look, spreads easily, and makes it possible to avoid using heavy makeup. It is especially suitable for autumn and winter and there's also no issue with it peeling. However, it can be a little pricey.👍 Shiseido Maquillage  Star rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is only for spring and summer use by those with oily skin types. It offers shine control, has great mattifying effect, and evens out skin tone. Sometimes I'll use it when I go to the gym and it's relatively affordable. However, it's too dry for autumn and winter.

taking advantage of quarantine to finally put together a grown-up skincare routine! i have oily skin and recurring acne, so i’m still trying to figure out how to curb breakouts. anybody else like these products? or have any other recommendations? 💕 • CLEANSER • CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser this just feels good to put on. silky smooth, clean, refreshing. GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover i only use this when i’ve been wearing makeup, which hasn’t been much lately, but it does the trick. it’s also good for when i feel like double cleansing at night. • TONER • THAYERS - Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Facial Toner love this for helping minimize my pores. sometimes i swab it on mid-day if my skin is feeling extra oily. • ACNE TREATMENT • Neutrogena - On-the-Spot, Acne Treatment i’ve been using this for a million years and it’s great for getting acne to disappear as quickly as possible. just an awesome little spot treatment. Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Wash this is a nighttime acne wash and it seems to work pretty well. it does have an intense chemical smell, which isn’t my favorite. • MOISTURIZER • Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer 50ml i love this stuff. my roommate thinks it’s an alien serum since it’s so pretty and blue. putting this on at night just makes my skin feel so hydrated and fancy. plus, it’s super light, which is a godsend for oily skin. Neutrogena - Facial Moisturizer i put this on in the morning because i know i need some spf, but it still leaves me feeling oily even though there’s no oil in it! still hunting for an spf moisturizer that doesn’t smell so sunscreen-y and feel heavy in my skin.

I am so excited for this post
I am so excited for this post because I get to share some of my absolute favourite products 😍 Best. Cleansing. Balm. Ever. If you haven’t tried it yet then you need to plan a trip to Sephora this weekend and grab yourself one 😄 while you’re there, you might as well grab Green Defense because it is by far the best mineral sunscreen I have ever tried. I’ve been using for the past 3 weeks and I am completely obsessed! First of all, I don’t ever bother with mineral suncreens because they’re often too thick, hard to blend, leave an ugly white cast, irritates my skin and break me out (even if they’re supposed to be better for those with sensitive skin). But this sunscreen is the complete opposite of what I just said. It’s lightweight, super easy to blend, non-greasy, *NEVER LEAVES A WHITE CAST* (super important) and doesn’t irritate my sensitive, acne prone skin. It also wears nicely under make up. The hype is seriously SO real and I think everyone needs this sunscreen in their life. I literally don’t have any complains except the fact that it’s not available in Canada 😭 Farmacy please change this!

The trunk 2.0 wasn’t available in Canada, so I made my own! 🐘 _____________________ Here’s a collection of all my Drunk elephant favourites wrapped up in a nice little box! ✨ Cleanse: my favourite cleansers are Beste and Juju. That little bar really packs a punch! Beste is also amazing as a makeup brush cleanser! ✨Serum: in the morning I love to mix C a, B Hydra, and D Bronzi. At night, TLC Framboos is the one for me! I also like to use Shaba around the eyes. ✨Hydrate: I like to use Protini for day and Lala’s intense moisture at night. For days I need an extra boost, I’ll pat Marula Oil on before my moisturizer. ✨Treat: TLC Sukari Baby Facial is a knockout. The rumours are true... it’s amazing. Strong active ingredients and my skin never feels red or irritated after using. This stuff works! ✨Protect: I LOVEEE using Umbra Tinte in the morning as my daily SPF. It has a slight tint that is enough coverage to even out my skin so I can skip foundation. I also love how it is on my skin, it drinks it up! I press it into my skin after my morning routine. Some may find it too , but I love the glow that it gives!! _____________________ That’s all the Drunk in my Trunk! 💕🐘 _____________________
