❤️ Hi, CreatorsWe're so excited to welcome you back to today's newest edition of cherie creator 101! Our community is always sharing such amazing photos and beauty insights and we love seeing all of your posts. In this edition of creator 101, we will be letting you in on some tips and tricks for taking high-quality, well-lit photos at home. Get ready to master your photo taking skills and snap some amazing product shots and selfies! 🍒 A sun-filled window is your BFFNatural lighting looks good on anyone and anything. Find a spot in your home where the sunlight floods in and position yourself (or your products) in a spot where the sun "kisses" you (or your products). Natural light adds a glowy aura and diffuses any imperfections, creating a dreamy vibe in any photo.🍒 Direct light vs. Indirect lightIt's always good to play around with the positioning of yourself, or your products in different lighting. Direct light is when the subject of the photo is right in the spotlight, and indirect is when the subject is anywhere within the proximity of the spotlight. Direct light is great for really showing off a product, but too much of it can blur details. Indirect light is great for detail shots, but too little light and your camera can lose focus.🍒 Take photos at the right timeThe color of the light changes at different times throughout the day. Sometimes, light floods the room softly and can add a soft glow to photos. Other times, sunlight beams into the room to give a more dramatic or moody look. Sunrise or sunset (aka golden hour) gives a warm look. More relaxed or neutral light color happens at midday.🍒 Diffuse harsh lightSuppose you want to take a photo at night and have only one harsh light source, like a lamp in your room. You can try putting a sheet or a material over it, like a soft cloth, to soften the lighting and help with proper exposure and enhance the quality of your photo! Lighting is key to helping your photos shine through and get the attention of the rest of our community! Here are some incredible examples from our cherie fam:In this post, @Skinsitive shares an amazing product photo that is positioned well in natural window light, giving the picture a nice soft glow with a cool shadow as well.
I love saving money, but the idea that a product is a “duplicate” if it contains a similar active is misleading. Influencers use the word “dupe” as clickbait, trying to use the consumer’s desire to save money to fuel engagement rates- it feels shady and part of why I never call a product a “dupe”. These two have been popping up more and more together, so let’s check it out. THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer |⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Price: $14.99 USD per 50mL • Texture: Rich, Silky, Creamy. Better for drier skin. • Review: 2% Royal Epigen P5 and a 1% peptide blend comprise the “active” portion of this moisturizer. Two hydrating peptide complexes, Acetyl Hexapeptide-37 and Pentapeptide-48, make up the 1% peptide blend, including amino acids Arginine, Glutamic Acid, Leucine, Serine, Threonine, Alanine, Proline, and Glycine. Royal Epigen P5 is a synthetic peptide that the producing company claims imitates the regenerative quality of royalactin in royal jelly- they also claim that it can smooth skin texture and even skin tone, but I can’t locate any of the clinical studies they reference so I don’t give a whole lot of credence to those claims. Regardless, peptides as a whole are hydrating and skin-replenishing, making this a wonderful moisturizer for dry, irritated, or dehydrated skin, especially at the cost! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream|⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Price: $68 USD per 50mL • Texture: Bouncy, Silky, Gel-Like. Better for oilier skin. • Review: sh-Oligopeptide-1, sh-Oligopeptide-2, sh-Polypeptide-1, sh-Polypeptide-9, sh-Polypeptide-11, Copper Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-14, Heptapeptide-15 Palmitate, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Alanine, Arginine, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Valine, Acetyl Glutamine, and multiple fatty acids make this a lengthy INCI list with serious skin-replenishing qualities. Some of the peptides used are growth factors and one is a copper peptide, increasing the wound healing and collagen synthesis, with some personal testimony here of increased smoothness and blemish healing when used consistently. It’s a well-rounded INCI list, making the price tag less painful. Similarities between the two include air-right packaging and the fact that they include peptides, humectants, and emollients. Many products can say the same as far as the general ingredients go, yet there is a reason Protini is the iconic protein product many folks turn to: it’s stacked! If you’re looking to include peptides in your routine, the Inkey List’s Peptide Moisturizer is a wonderfully affordable way to do so, but there are in no way duplicates of one another. The copper peptides alone are a wonderful addition that differentiates the two, as well as the variety of inactive ingredients included in Protini that earn it its cult status. They’re both good and both serve similar goals, but saying they’re the same is an appallingly generalized statement. #CheriePartner

Niacinamide has been a “hot” ingredient for a while now - and for good reason! Niacinamide, which is a form of vitamin B-3, has many benefits including: •reducing the appearance of irritation •calm redness •improve the visibility of pores over time •oil regulation •improve skin texture over time •help soothe the appearance of acne and prevent future breakouts •improve fine lines and wrinkles over time •support a healthy skin barrier I have been using some form of niacinamide in my skincare courting for about a year and a half. My first niacinamide product was the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner |⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, which I’ve since used up and repurchased. This toner also contains vitamin C to help brighten skin & reduce pores’ visibility. The odorless, watery texture absorbs quickly. It can be used 2x/day but I generally use 1x in the AM. My skin genuinely missed this when I didn’t have it. My skin looked a bit dull and I had some breakouts. It truly brightens my complexion and does help reduce pore visibility over time. $14 on brand’s website or Beautylish Serums are also a great way to add niacinamide into your routine. The insta natural - Niacinamide Serum|⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is a newer addition to my routine, but I’m so impressed. This was gifted to me by the brand. I’ve been using it regularly 1x in the PM after toner for just over a month now. I lock it in with moisturizer and occasionally face oil. This serum is extra awesome, especially for super dry skin like mine, because it contains hyaluronic acid, rosemary extract, avocado oil, and vitamin E. It does smell a bit like rosemary, but does not linger. The milky texture feels so soothing, especially when my skin is irritated and extra dry. My skin looks visibly more calm and is generally clear. The reason I love this is because niacinamide *can* be irritating for some (esp. super dry or sensitive types). I previously used The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%|⭐️⭐️⭐️ (used up - no photo, $6) and would experience a mild burning sensation when applied over irritated + flaky spots. It also left my face super tacky and sometimes caused pilling of products on top. I don’t recommend that one for dry or sensitive skin, and wouldn’t repurchase. The Instanatural serum does not do any of those things. It will be in my routine long-term! Plus, it’s affordable at $18 (brand’s website) and comes in a 2oz bottle. Also available on Amazon ~ $16 All brands mentioned are cruelty-free (CF), and Instanatural is leaping bunny certified (a gold standard for CF products). Please note that I am not a skincare expert. Consult your dermatologist before introducing new ingredients to your routine. #CheriePartner

The color is very pretty. The texture is soft and smooth. I used this on my lips. The color is very pigmented and long lasting. I tried this on my cheeks and wasn't a fan. It was too greasy for my liking. #The Organic Skin - Natural Lipstick[products]#[TwoStars] • This lipstick comes in 12 colors. With the added benefits of calendula and rosemary supercritical extracts, as well as nourishing organic oils and carnauba wax. Shades: Coral & Ruby Red 💭 I really wanted to like these lipsticks. The packaging is so pretty. The issue is the texture. These lipsticks are a little rough. I wasn't able to wear it by itself. You Definitely have to apply a gloss before using or it will break. Unfortunately it became to stressful to use. lol They wouldn't apply the right way. #The Organic Skin - TASK FORCE NINECALENDULA AND TURMERIC CREAM [products]#[FiveStars] • Infused with 9 active natural ingredients – aloe vera, jojoba seed oil, lemon peel oil, calendula, turmeric, rosemary, honeysuckle, vanilla, and seabuckthorn – this multi-tasking treatment cream has moisturizing, antiseptic and antibacterial properties. 💭 This is a nice everyday cream. My issue was on of the shadows was hard. It kept rolling up as I was trying to get it out of the package. The shades are very pretty especially greenstone. It's very pigmented. I'm not sure if I would purchase any of these products. Your thoughts? (Gifted) #whoisnee #cheriecreator
THIS DERMATOLOGISTS FAVORITE NEW CLEANSER
THIS DERMATOLOGISTS FAVORITE NEW CLEANSER
Cleansers are an essential step in everyone’s skincare routine, but it can be difficult to find the right one for your skin. The new Aveeno Calm + Restore nourishing oat cleanser has been my new go-to daily cleanser and I love it. ❤️🙌 Aveeno has always been a brand to create formulations that target dry and sensitive skin and this cleanser is no different. This cleanser is great for people all skin types but would likely benefit dry or combination skin most. The incorporated oat complex helps restore build the skin’s moisture barrier and soothe itchy skin. There is no stripping effect with this cleanser, which is something too always look for with your cleanser. Other pros about this product are its fragrance free (limiting any irritant reactions) as well as great pricing. On amazon, you can find a bottle for under $10.‼️‼️ TRUTH: If you are trying to fight acne or blackheads I recommend against this cleanser and try finding something with salicylic acid. Have you tried the new Aveeno cleanser? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! ⤵️

@cheriethanks for the cute sweatshirt! I am obsessed. Here is my am routine! sisley - FLORAL TONING LOTION First I tone and prep my skin with this toner. I love this toner so much because it is so hydrating and doesn’t strip the skin. It also moisturizes while helping to clean and prep it to absorb other products. NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% Then I use this essence. I love this brand so much and this essence is so hydrating and light. It helps plump and prepares it for the serum. NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% Next I use this serum which I have been enjoying. It is super gentle that I can even use it during the day. So far my skin has been tolerating it very well. I also notice my dark spots decreasing much quicker. LORD JONES - Acid Mantle Repair CBD Moisturizer Then I use this moisturizer that I am obsessed with. It so far has been my favorite product of the year. It’s so hydrating and calming.
