Back Acne Product Recommendations 🥳🎊

Back acne is a problem that can plague us throughout our whole lives- not just when we're teens!
Pimples can happen anywhere on the body and one of the most common places is the back. They typically appear on the top around the shoulders but can happen all over.
Luckily, pimples on the back respond well to the same ingredients as anywhere else on our body. Let’s look at some product recommendations and tips for how to fight back acne.
Products for Back Acne
The same actives we use on our face will work on the back (or anywhere on the body!). You most likely already have products that will work on the pimples on your back.
My absolute favorite product for back acne are the stridex acne control pads. These have 2% salyclic acid, strong enough to make a difference but gentle enough not to irritate the skin. I like to pass these over clean skin after the shower or after working out to remove any sweat. Start out using these a few times a week to see how your skin reacts and move up to once a day!
Benzoyl peroxide is another staple for acne control. The PanOxyl face wash has 10% benzoyl peroxide, the highest concentration available over the counter. While technically marketed as a product for the face, this makes a great body wash, especially for areas with acne. I like to let it sit on the skin in the shower while I do my hair. Keep in mind that benzoyl peroxide will have a bleaching effect on any fabric it touches, so you may want to use an older wash cloth or your hands.
Another product with salicylic acid, this lotion from CeraVe is a great daily lotion for areas with acne. There are other similar lotions on the marke that you may see as marketed for rough or dry skin which like acne, responds to AHA's and BHA’s like salicylic, glycolic, and lactic acid. Be sure to use on dry skin. Applying it to wet skin can increase the absorbtion, leading to tingling and irritation.
The skin on our back is tougher, so you can be a little more agressive than you would be on your face. You should still look for any irritation and adjust accordingly. If your back acne is especially severe and once you know your skin can handle it, you may be able to apply more than one product such as using an acne body wash and a lotion afterwards. For maintenance of occasional pimples, using one of the products above may be all that you need.
Tips for Preventing Back Acne
Back acne occurs for the same reason it does on the face. The excess buildup of sebum and dead skin cells clogs the pores and holds onto the bacteria that creates acne.
One particular cause that’s more specific to the back is the accumulation of sweat. Working out, being outside, and living in a hot and humid climate are all possible triggers for those suffering from back acne.
Try to wipe the excess sweat off your back when you can, and try to avoid staying in any shirts with sweat. You can carry around makeup remover wipes to use after you work out or throughout the day. Salicylic acid pads are also an option to use after you’ve gotten especially sweaty!
Some of us are just more prone to back acne. If this is the case, don’t worry! You can stay on top of it even if you don’t have a lot of pimples. Regularly using a product to fight it is important. If you only notice pimples every now and then, using a product as they pop up may be the only thing necessary.

HOW TO: AT-HOME BLOWOUT
HOW TO: AT-HOME BLOWOUT
At-home blowouts are the future of hair styling! Ever since I went to Dry Bar a year ago to get a blowout for $80 (which is just ridiculous in my opinion), I’ve been mastering my at-home blowout. I purchased the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer at Ulta which completely changed the game for my hair after shower hair routine! REVLON - One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer Bonus Tip: Remember to spray a heat protectant in your hair before drying it. 😊 OUAI - Heat Protection Spray To get max volume and flipped ends, I take 1 inch sections and start at the root of my hair. I go as slowly as possible so that all of my roots are dry. Next, I twist the brush so that my hair is wrapped around it all the way down the section of hair. I repeat this process until I reach the top of my head. Lastly, I take a straightener to flatten any flyaways or unwanted curls if there are any left. That’s it! In total, the entire process takes me about 20 minutes. My hair feels so soft, light, and looks amazing afterwards. The next time you think about going to purchase a blowout, I recommend trying it at home first! 💕

Dry Shampoo white residue? Don’t worry I got you
I love a dry shampoo with a lot of powder because it is what is absorbing the oil to make your hair look less greasy. However, sometimes there is a little white powder residue that I can’t seem to rub into my dark hair. Simple solution 💡!! Shine spray! It makes it all blend away!
