Supergoop! Product Haul: Which Product reigned supreme?!
Are you someone that feels informed enough to know how important SPF is, but you're maybe not 100% sure how to incorporate it into your skincare and makeup routines? Are you debating something chemical vs mineral? What's your lifestyle, and how are hoping to utilize SPF in your routine via Supergoop!'s stuff? Supergoop! feels like it had a revitalization happen, with it being summer, fused with the current trend that many are adapting, with an SPF-focused routine for the summer, and future daily lifestyle. It's come to more folks' attention that even staying indoors with COVID, it's important to avoid light damage from computer screens, as well as light rays that come in through open and closed windows! These rays of light can still reach your skin, and therefore impact it. I'm here to tell you about my journey with Supergoop! products I tested in particular, and the benefits and other things to note for each product + formula.
Here's a list of the Supergoop! Products I tested: 1) Unseen Sunscreen, SPF 40 2) Zincscreen, SPF 40, 3) Invincible Setting Powder, SPF 40, 4) Superscreen Moisturizer, SPF 40, 5) CC Screen, SPF 50, and 6) Matte Screen, SPF 40. I tested all of these products over the course of 3 months.
What products could be great? What am I keeping, based on my skin type and makeup routine I'm striving for? What am I ditching? Are any of these products potentially seasonal? It all depends- read further and find out! (A friendly heads up, Key: + = positive, o = neutral. - = negative)
Supergoop!Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40
This product is advertised as the one that is great for priming pre-foundations. It's definitely an option for folks that love a good primer to separate their moisturizer from their makeup, while obtaining the benefits of SPF in the process.
Unfortunately, this product ultimately made me break out- it was the first product that I tested, and only product I added into my routine at the time. Super bummed because I was still considering medium foundation coverage in my routine, and heard amazing things about this being the ultimate make-up primer with SPF protection. Here's the skinny for everyone who might stil be interested:
+Very buildable, very spreadable
+Blends very easily
+Truly primes- when my face felt more oily certain days with humidity, it felt like it separated my moisturizer to prep my skin for makeup
oVery "Silicone" feel- you either love or hate this feeling as you apply on your face- depends where you stand on this!
oWait 15 minutes before placing makeup over it- for chemical sunscreens, it needs this much time to settle into the skin and activate properly
-Sensitive skin- maybe not the best fit, face may become itchy/ your skin may feel it's reacting to the product's formula
-Doesn't play nice with all makeup products, so if possible you will need to test this what the foundation/ blush/ bronzers/ highlighters you have. Sephora has a great return + exchange policy if you go in-store to buy!
Final Verdict: Check it out- it's worth trying, it just wasn't for me!
+Great for dry skin types-> leaves supple, hydrated, dewy finish
+"No makeup" makeup days? This could be your gal. Easy to reapply and does hold blush/ bronzer under/ over it nicely
+Great for the last step in your AM routine+100% mineral-> starts working right away!
oCombo skin, definitely consider trying this with setting powder
-Oily skin types, maybe not the best fit as it has a very dewy, super shiny finish
-Be wary of the eye area- accidentally got some in my eye when I was in a rush one morning, and boy were my eyes feeling the burn. Be careful!Final Verdict: Purchase if you're looking for that awesome moisturizer + SPF benefits in your AM routine.
Since their first launch with this product, Supergoop! has adopted additional shades with more undertones. IMO though, it still has a way to go in order to be considered more inclusive. I can see why folks who have been following Supergoop! and waiting for a larger shade range are pretty excited.+Great for no makeup makeup days-> light/ medium coverage with just mascara! +Sensitive skin? This is 100% mineral, woohoo! Works immediately upon skin contact
oCombo/ oily skin, you may still need to consider setting powder, which this product is pretty hit or miss with!
-Due to current amount of shades available, may not perfectly match your skintone from season to season, but always worth testing!-Definitely will need to test with makeup- didn't play nice with everything necessarily on me!Final Verdict: Definitely worth exploring and testing! Sephora has a great return policy for this- I imagine if you buy straight through
+On hot sweaty days, this is your gal. Fantastic application for oily spots in the summertime!
+Great for combo skin on limited makeup days sans foundation, or days where you're looking to apply spf above your non-SPF moisturizer
+Comes with optional yellow cap to help you control how much powder comes out during/ between uses! Personally found I didn't need to use mine, but great feature if you're nervous of going through too much product too quickly
+Comes with separate, somewhat affordable powder refills (aka, more thoughtful product design long-term for the environment)
oDepending on your skin type, may not be needed year round!
-May or may not play nice with all foundation or bb/cc moisturizing products outside of Supergoop!
Final Verdict: Super awesome, potentially a great multi-situational product! Highly encourage for combo/ oily-skin folks that want to work in a setting powder with SPF. Definitely test out with your current makeup routine, if you're big into medium/ full coverage!
+When applied with moisturizers that played nice underneath, this truly finished as advertised-> my large pores were invisible!
+Great for oily skin types-> this truly gives your complexion that mattefied look for most of the day! oWhen I applied after moisturizing with certain moisturizers that played nice, I found did have to wait a while, otherwise pilling was possible. Not super bad per se, just something to note in case you're in a rush!-Not super easy to reapply without pilling; found this pilled with several of my makeup/ underneath skincare products
-Do not recommend for dry skin types-> even with moisturizer that set underneath with plenty of time before application, this has the potential to make the appearance of soaking into pores/ sitting on top of larger pores
Final Verdict: Great for folks going for that "no-makeup" makeup look- definitely consider! Dry Skin types, consider other products in the Supergoop! product line.
Annnnnnnd I found my new holy grail item. This tinted SPF is my hands-down favorite Supergoop! item right now. It would be aweosme to see this expand in the number of tint shades and creating a range for inclusivity. This product has sold out at several Sephora locations in Southern California, and wouldn't be surprised if there were other locations that ran out in the summer months. As someone who has very light or fair, dry, semi-sensitive skin, with the occasional combo-skin moments, the formula is fantastic. The formula settles in nicely, has light/medium coverage that is super easy to reapply without worrying about pilling, or messing up layers of blush or bronzer. Plus, didn't cause breakouts! For me and my new routine without foundation, this is the best!
+Dry /sensitive skin type's dream: This gives a nice, dewy finish
+With current tint available, fantastic for light/ fair skintones
+Works well with cream/ liquid/ powder blushes and bronzers
+Great for "natural" makeup looks or Zoom meetings, or outdoor workout activities because of it's easy ability to reapply well
+Didn't experience any pilling, nor the product "sitting" on face/ pores
+Combo skin-> can work! Consider investing in Supergoop's Invincible Setting Powder for your t-zone (these two formulas, as they should, work well together!)
-Doesn't play nice with all concealers-> definitely best fit for someone who loves one singular product for light/ medium coverage all over
-Oily skin might not be the ideal fit. If you're going for a 100% SPF "no-makeup makeup" look though, consider this product paired with SG's setting powder!Final Verdict: Love- please try! It's my Future Empty/ New (personal) Holy Grail. What other products have you used from Supergoop!? Do you prefer other SPF products from another company that are worth trying? What other SG products do you love that weren't tested? (Definitely soncidering checking out some of their eye-focused products).
If you'd like some more details on each item, I'm happy to share below in the comments. Please let me know your thoughts on what you've used from this brand in the comments section :) Thanks everyone for the read!
Even Tho I'm Working On My Outside Beauty.... 🦃
I'm very thankful for the beauty on the inside. This has been a tough year for me as an ICU nurse fighting covid. I can't even begin to tell you about the awful things I have seen but I will tell you that my coworkers have so much beauty on the inside. I was looking for a solution to the awful Maskne that I acquired wearing a mask 12-16 hours at a time. In my journey to clear my skin I have found this platform to help me escape from this covid nightmare all awhile learning more and upgrading my skincare routine. What are you thankful for?? What are your beauty goals?? #cheriecreator
Tips from a dermatologist on sunscreen ☀️
Let’s talk about sunscreen ☀️ What’s a good sunscreen to wear? One that is: * Broad-spectrum protection (protects against UVA and UVB rays) * SPF 30 or higher * Water resistant This will help protect your skin from early skin aging, sunburn, and skin cancer. What is the difference between chemical and physical sunscreens? Chemical sunscreens work like a sponge, absorbing the sun’s rays. They contain one or more of the following ingredients: oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, and octinoxate. These are often easier to rub into the skin without a white cast. Physical sunscreens (aka mineral sunscreens) act like a shield, sitting on the surface of your skin and deflecting the sun’s rays. These can come on white. They have the active ingredients zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide Reapply every 2 hours when outside in the sun ☀️ Some of my favorites: Tinted: Cerave tinted, la roche posay tinted, alastin CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 ALASTIN SKINCARE - HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36 Not tinted: colorescience, drunk elephant colorescience - Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50 Sunscreen DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 What’s your favorite sunscreen?
GRWM! New products and some old!
Hello everyone! I did another GRWM using some new and old products! First I started off with a primer. I used e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer I was actually really surprised by this. It reminded me of Tachas silk canvas primer. It went on smoothly and did a good job of blurring my skin. I will say though after I looked at my makeup in the mirror up close it did settle a bit into my pores and my creases and was pretty noticeable. Overall I think this is a good product and will work for people with smoother skin. e.l.f. - 16HR Camo Concealer Then I used the elf concealer. I love this concealer. I’ve used it so many other times in my other videos. WINKY LUX - Diamond Powder Foundation Then I used the winky lux foundation. This actually went on so nicely and was super natural looking. I love how it’s so weightless and decreases shine. I would recommend this for people with oilier skin. the CRÈME shop - "Macro Brow" Angled Brow Pencil + Spooley Then i used macro brow. This is just to fill in the last bits of my eyebrow to look fuller. It’s easy to use and has a great price point. I just wish the pigment was a little easier to apply. You have to push so hard. RITUEL DE FILLE - Rare Light Crème Luminizer My favorite brand of highlighters ever. Just so pretty and pigmented. All natural and cruelty free. An amazing brand overall. 💞 fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 I used a tinted fresh lip treatment. Love the way they hydrate and the subtle color it gives off. They also smell and taste really good 😂. Hope you enjoyed getting ready with me! Let me know if you have any questions about the products I used.

Kylie x Grinch - Worth the Hype?
Review time!!! I just received the entire Kylie Cosmetics Grinch Collection in the mail this week & I want to break down each product and tell you what I loved and didn’t love. Palette: I’m not one that reaches for tons of colour usually but all the greens in this palette are gorgeous! There’s a mix of matte and shimmer shades, and as usual, the shadows blend like a dream! The good thing about this palette is that there are still some neutral shades rather than just greens. I definitely appreciate the mixture of shades. Shadow Sticks: The Kylie shadow sticks are probably one of my favourite products they have ever released. They are so extremely pigmented, and so easy to apply. They’re basically fool proof, and they set as a shadow. If you haven’t tried them out, I highly suggest you do! In this collection we have a super pretty light shimmery green, light gold, and two rosy toned shadow sticks. Shimmer Eye Glazes: This product is insane. They are a super intensely pigmented eyeshadow that leaves the lids looking wet & dripping in glitter! One swipe of these on the lid is literally all you need for that intense shimmer. If you’re someone who loves super shimmery eyeshadow, I recommend giving the Kylie Cosmetics Shimmer Eye Glazes a try. This collection came with 2 shades: a minty turquoise green and a gold - & I’m obsessed and so happy to be adding these to my collection!! Olive Kyliner: My go to liquid liner is the black Kyliner, so i wasn’t surprised when i loved the easy application and long wearing quality of this olive Kyliner! The liner applies a lighter olive green and dries down to a deeper olive shade. It’s definitely not something I’d reach for everyday, although it’s definitely cute for the holidays or even for a pop of colour to a neutral eye! Blush: I am a huge fan of the Kylie Cosmetics Blushes as opposed to the other blushes I’ve tried from the brand this one had some shimmer in it! It’s quite similar to the NARS “orgasm” blush but with a stronger pink hue. I love the shimmer in it, it adds a pretty glow to the cheeks, perfect for the holidays.. or any day really :P Highlight: Def on theme, but probably my least favourite product in of the collection :( Don’t get me wrong, it’s super blinding and glowy. Although, once I applied to my face it showed off as very green. Personally I don’t want a green glow on my face! But hey, if that’s your vibe that’s cool! Definitely not a highlight I’d reach for everyday. Lip Kit: Obsessed. This red is EVERYTHING! This Lip Kit is one of the best reds I have ever tried. It has a matte finish and is extremely long wearing. I know it’s sold out but a similar shade would be “BOSS” by Kylie. Lipsticks: These shades are gorg for the holidays and I love the shade range! Long wearing & comfortable on the lips. High Glosses: Kylies high glosses are high shine, but very sticky! So if you’re not a fan of sticky glosses you won’t love these. These shades are perf for the holidays and everyday!
