Are You Making These Skincare Mistakes?

Sep. 25
I love a great solid routine. It’s empowering, important and overall a healthy lifestyle to get into.
With so many people moving into skincare I think it’s important to share proper skincare tips and how to maximize your results!
1. You're using the wrong prodcuts for your skin type
This is a great chart to show skin type. When addressing your skin, it best to know what products work for you! I find a lot of people use products that do not fit their skin type. You must start with your
2. Youre applying your products in the wrong order.
This is my go to fail proof guide to applying skincare. The only thing I change is my retinol order. Since I use Differin Gel Acne Treatment, I like to layer it on before my moisturizer. If you have sensitive skin, stay with this order! When layering serums, its important apply from the most water based to oil based.
3. Not wearing sunscreen everyday.
Yes, sunscreen is needed! You should wear a minimum of SPF15 (indoors) and SPF30 outdoors. The best sunscreen will say broad spectrum, which mean it protects from UVB (ultraviolet B rays) & UVA (Ultraviolet A) rays. I also recommend looking for a sunscreen that protects againt Blue Lights (my favorite brands are Elemis & Tula). Alot of people will put maximum effort into their skin, just not to see results. Sun damage can hinder you results tremendously! I will say that higher SPF does matter! According to the skin cancer foundation, the higher the SPF the more time it takes to burn and shields you for a 1% higher chance of UVB radiation! (
4.Not washing your pillow cases enough.
You should wash you pillow cases at least once a week (more if you have acne prone or oily skin!). I wash my entire bed linen once a week and my pillow cases twice a week. A lot of oils and dirt stay one your pillow case (even if you do wash your skin twice a day!)
5. Your diet sucks
You are what you eat is a motto I live by. It's proven that your gut health has a direct correlation with you skin. If you eat high sugar content foods, greasy foods, and over excessive amonts of dairy it could had negative effects of your skin. When i changed my diet (cut our sodas, moderated my dairy intake, moderated my greasy food intake, & drank the recommended 8 bottles of day of water my skin improved tremedously)!
6. You're stopping at your jawline
"You're skincare stops at your nipples" (@skinsy)
You should be applying whatever you apply to your face to you neck and chest! I see alot of peiple stop at their face and think they've done everthing correctly .. wrong. You should always be sure to get everything!

The color is very pretty. The texture is soft and smooth. I used this on my lips. The color is very pigmented and long lasting. I tried this on my cheeks and wasn't a fan. It was too greasy for my liking. #The Organic Skin - Natural Lipstick[products]#[TwoStars] • This lipstick comes in 12 colors. With the added benefits of calendula and rosemary supercritical extracts, as well as nourishing organic oils and carnauba wax. Shades: Coral & Ruby Red 💭 I really wanted to like these lipsticks. The packaging is so pretty. The issue is the texture. These lipsticks are a little rough. I wasn't able to wear it by itself. You Definitely have to apply a gloss before using or it will break. Unfortunately it became to stressful to use. lol They wouldn't apply the right way. #The Organic Skin - TASK FORCE NINECALENDULA AND TURMERIC CREAM [products]#[FiveStars] • Infused with 9 active natural ingredients – aloe vera, jojoba seed oil, lemon peel oil, calendula, turmeric, rosemary, honeysuckle, vanilla, and seabuckthorn – this multi-tasking treatment cream has moisturizing, antiseptic and antibacterial properties. 💭 This is a nice everyday cream. The texture is nice and light. It leaves your skin smooth and moisturized. It's non-greasy and smells amazing. This cream is good for all skin types including sensitive skin. #The Organic Skin - The Eyes Have it[products]#[FourStars] • With 8 colors to choose from you can mix, match and blend our cream eye shadows. Highly pigmented, long-lasting, multi-hued, and full of supercritical extracts. How to use: Using your finger or an eye shadow brush, apply to your eyelids. Shades: Greenstone & Silhouette 💭 These are really nice eyeshadows especially if you like cream shadows. It's easy to apply and the texture is smooth. Once these shadows dry down, they stay in place. My issue was on of the shadows was hard. It kept rolling up as I was trying to get it out of the package. The shades are very pretty especially greenstone. It's very pigmented. I'm not sure if I would purchase any of these products. Your thoughts? (Gifted) #whoisnee #cheriecreator

Antioxidants in skincare
Antioxidants in skincare
Free radicals are produced as a byproduct in the body as well as are result of various external sources including ultraviolet radiations, pollution, pesticides, smoking. They damage the body’s healthy cells. Antioxidants help neutralise these excess free radicals and prevent damages to DNA, protein, lipids. They are produced endogenously in our body but certain factors affect the amount of antioxidants required to scavenge these free radicals. To prevent our skin from oxidative stress damage, topical application of antioxidants have proven to be beneficial.
Tips from a dermatologist on sunscreen ☀️
Tips from a dermatologist on sunscreen ☀️
Let’s talk about sunscreen ☀️ What’s a good sunscreen to wear? One that is: * Broad-spectrum protection (protects against UVA and UVB rays) * SPF 30 or higher * Water resistant This will help protect your skin from early skin aging, sunburn, and skin cancer. What is the difference between chemical and physical sunscreens? Chemical sunscreens work like a sponge, absorbing the sun’s rays. They contain one or more of the following ingredients: oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, and octinoxate. These are often easier to rub into the skin without a white cast. Physical sunscreens (aka mineral sunscreens) act like a shield, sitting on the surface of your skin and deflecting the sun’s rays. These can come on white. They have the active ingredients zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide Reapply every 2 hours when outside in the sun ☀️ Some of my favorites: Tinted: Cerave tinted, la roche posay tinted, alastin CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 ALASTIN SKINCARE - HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36 Not tinted: colorescience, drunk elephant colorescience - Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50 Sunscreen DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 What’s your favorite sunscreen?

Hi Guys!!! I recently saw this scrolling on Pinterest and I wanted to recreate it! It’s SO easy and took about 5 minutes total!! It looks so fancy yet it’s so simple! I have medium to thin hair but this can work on pretty much all hair types! (: (tip: spray texture spray beforehand) this helps it stay in better!)☺️ HOW TO: -I like to pull my bangs out first (: - you’re going to section it as if you’re doing a half up half down hairstyle -then you’re going to start twisting that part of your hair -I twist it around like I’m doing a ballerina bun😅 -then I secure it with a hair tie ❤️ -you can leave like that! Or I like to pull it out a little so it’s more loose!✨😊
