Download the app today to be a part of #BeautyWithoutBarriers and show the world what beauty means to you!Beauty and wellness have been slowly merging as one over the years—lately, it feels like you can't talk about one without the other making its way into the conversation. With more and more brands recognizing the importance of mental health and its connection with beauty, holistic approaches to beauty have become more common and more readily received. While it's easy to connect overall health with skincare (skincare and selfcare are almost synonymous these days) why not make the rest of your beauty routine just as good for you? Imagine if your haircare routine was as relaxing as it was healthy for your hair. We'd all be taking our sweet time tending to our tresses the same way we do with our skin! Adachi Sanders, founder of Ankh Haircare, created her haircare line with the intention to create a haircare routine that is holistic and healing. Read on to learn more about her approach and see what team cherie thought about some of Ankh's star products! On Starting Ankh And Her Guiding Philosophies"I started my natural hair journey around 1997, and back then there wasn't a robust market for natural haircare, so I started making my own. I looked to natural ingredients and eventually made essential oils, herbs, and flowers the cornerstone for my hair products because of their healing properties, and more importantly, their aromatherapy value. One of my first products came from the need to have an oil that I could use for both my skin and hair. After some trial and error, I got the formula right and this versatile oil is now sold as Monarch Oil—to be used for the hair, body, or simply aromatherapy."On Holistic Haircare"When I create products for Ankh, I want everything to be holistic and natural. I want everyone to be able to use it—from children to pets, the whole family! When it came to beautifully scented products, most haircare has so much fragrance which has already been proven to be harmul for your body, and especially those with sensitive skin. So it is also very important for me that there's an element of aromatherapy in my products. When you use Ankh, I want customers to benefit from the aromatherapy and feel energized or relaxed—whatever the formula calls for." Adachi's Top Tips for Natural Hair Care1. "Don't be a product junkie! Find 1-2 product lines that work for you. Try things within those product lines, so if something isn't working for you, you can narrow it down to just two lines vs 10." 2. "Once you know what's working for you, stick with it. If it makes your skin and hair thrive, then don't try to add more, stick with it."Ankh's Star Products Tested by Team Cherie

Indra Moisture Mist
I have a pretty itchy scalp in general and it is even worse leading up to wash days 😭 — I’ve tried so many things to prevent it like but it’s so extra to have to shower and use a scalp detox just to get rid of a lil mid week itch (although I do recommend scalp care in your routine regardless) In comes this which is a very easy breezy itch relief for in between treatments + wash days! What’s it for? It freshens the scalp and also helps restore hair to its original vibrant health. Can be used with any style but I’ve been putting my curls in a BUN for quite a while so I just used it in between scrunchie swaps. What’s it like? Packaging says it “immediately freshens itchy and dry scalps” which do be true. My scalp was THIRSTY before using this and just a few spritzes at my roots really helped make it feel fresh again! It’s kinda like the same vibe you’d get from a dry shampoo...but with a different impact. How’s it feel? The mist is super light and mist-y — it really did soothe my scalp making it feel cool and clean. How’s it smell? It is all natural and has a few essential oils in it but they aren’t overpowering. The scent gives me v neutral spa vibes which I’m into bc I honestly cannoottt handle strong fragrance. What do ya think? I think this is a cool product that everyone can try! I’d highly recommend it for folks using protective styles but also if you straight up have an itchy scalp in general, this would be good for you! I will have to keep using it to see how it effects my hair health but after my first try I quite like it!!!

Trending Skincare Super Ingredients
I’ll start out by telling you a bit about my skin; it’s sensitive and normal-dry depending on the season. I also have rosacea on my cheeks. I am always looking for skincare that hydrates, soothes, and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I am 31 years old and have just recently started adding some anti-aging products into my routine, though I can thankfully say I don’t have many signs of aging yet🤞🏻 Today I’m going to tell you about some skincare “super ingredients” that you might have been hearing about because they have become very popular in the skincare world. Ashwaganda - ashwaganda is an ancient medicinal herb that is classified as an adaptogen, which means it can help your body manage stress. In skincare, and this YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi in particular, it is said to help reduce visible signs of fatigue. This moisturizer is targeted for people with dry, sensitive, and reactive skin. the texture of this is lovely, it’s not too heavy but feels incredibly hydrating on the skin. it has very little to no smell, which I really appreciate it definitely helps me with redness and dryness I would for sure repurchase this Niacinamide - niacinimide is an essential nutrient that can help build proteins in the skin and lock in moisture to prevent environmental damage. The CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Radiance Serum and CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Moisturizer with Niacinamide both contain niacinimide and claim to even the skin tone and give the skin a glowing appearance. the texture of both of these products is lightweight; the serum is a milky consistency and the moisturizer is a gel-cream. I wish that the moisturizer was a little more hydrating; I can’t really use it once the weather gets cold because it’s just not hydrating enough for me both of these products are quite strongly scented, some may find it overpowering I feel like they both make a difference in the overall appearance of my skin. They definitely help to brighten and even out my skin. I’m unsure if I would repurchase the moisturizer, but would repurchase the serum Retinol - retinol supports natural collagen production in the skin, nurtures the skin, and diminishes the look of fine lines and wrinkles. This FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Skin Lab Retinol Serum is said to be for beginner retinol users and for those with sensitive skin. There are different strengths of retinol and it is advised that you work your way up to a higher concentration as your skin adjusts. Retinol has a bit of a bad reputation in some ways because it is a very aggressive ingredient but when used properly, it can be extremely beneficial and effective. the texture isn’t overly thick and it sinks into the skin quickly unscented too new to my routine to say if I’d repurchase yet #CheriePartner
Dupe alert of TATCHA 🚓 e.l.f. 💕$8 vs. 54$
Dupe alert of TATCHA 🚓 e.l.f. 💕$8 vs. 54$
Hi Cherie sisters 👯‍♀️ 💗 I want to share my recent fav product: e.l.f. poreless putty primer. I can tell that I’m a huge fan of TATCHA. The silk canva primer was by far the best primers I’ve found on the market (until I found e.l.f.). But I have continued my hunt to test out some more possible dupes with lower price. While scrolling through Cherie, I saw a post about e.l.f. poreless putty primer could be the dupe alert of TATCHA. I recently picked this up from Target and I can tell it is a dupe through component type, color, texture - everything and only $8.00 !!!! Cheap and great quality products. When I open it, it smells a bit chemically. I love the texture: feels like a mix of solid coconut oil and butter (close to a balm but not greasy) . It wasn’t stick or oily for me personally, and I felt it was a little less thick than the TATCHA !!!! It really does make for a flawless look since it is soooo smoothing and completely poreless just like it states. It definitely feels like silk when you touch it as TATCHA does. I'm dry skin type, and this is best for me since is def not dry when I use it, and it's not necessarily hydrating. I love TATCHA, but it was kind of pricey and didn’t last me that long. e.l.f. primer is the best dupe alert of TATCHA silk canva for students who can’t always afford to buy overly expensive makeup (just like me). Lower price with same quality. Gorgeous product!! Tips: I like to use finger to apply primer all over my face. The warmth from fingers will help better break the product down for easier application than brush.
My Favorite Falsies! 👑 ✨ 💖
My Favorite Falsies! 👑 ✨ 💖
I am OBSESSED with falsies! This is going to sound extra, but I honestly feel like a different woman when I put them on. They complete a makeup look and can make it go from 0-100. They are an essential part of opening your eyes and enhancing the best features of your eyes. You can go for natural ones, dramatic, attention grabbing and whatever mood you’re feeling! In fact, I love them so much that I actually used to invest in lash extensions. I have been using falsies since I was in high school so I have experienced good falsies and bad ones too. I have almond shaped eyes and I understand that it could be overwhelming to find the right falsies for your eye shape...this is one of the reasons why I LOVE House of Lashes. They have an eye shape guide and recommend which lash styles are best for you. My top three favorite lashes from this brand are: Au Naturale, Bouidoir Lite and Demure Lite. 1) Au Naturale I go for these often. They are wearable for any occasion. This gives a “your lash but better guide”. I also use this when I create a dramatic look, but don’t want to over power it with lashes. 2) Boudoir Lite This has a dense center. They are dramatic, but soft enough. I go for these when I go out 3) Demure Lite These are also soft and more on the natural side with an oomph. This helps open my eyes and emphasize any eye look. House of lashes are a bit on the mid range price. However, ELF and Ardell are also my fav falsies that are on the affordable side. My favorite “your lashes, but better” falsies is the Ardell Wispies. These look sooo natural! I use it as an alternative to my Au Naturale. Another falsies that I always grab for especially if I want the attention stealing is the ELF Social Butterfly. These are faux mink lashes and did I mention they are $3?! Ardell and ELF are very affordable, but HOL falsies are much easier to apply so if you’re a beginner, I would suggest you invest in HOL. It’s worth it! Lashes can be reused 15+ times depending on how you care for them. Here are my quick step by step for falsies: 1) Measure the lashes to your eyes and cut to your desired length. Most falsies are large so always measure it to your eye first. 2) For easier application, grab one of those lash glues with wand. Apply extra glue on the corners of the lashes because these tend to come off easily 3) Wait 30 seconds for the glue to become tacky then grab your tweezers to apply falsies closest to your lash line. 4) Hold it until it is fully glued to your natural lashes 5) This step is optional, but apply mascara to diffuse your falsies to your natural lashes. This will give you a natural result 6) Apply eyeliner or use a dark eyeshadow to hide the lash band. 7) Voila! Then enjoy! It took me a while to get this down. I’ve been applying eyelashes for more than 10 years and even to this day, I’m still not the best at it. Just keep practicing! What is your favorite falsies? Xoxo, Francesca 💋 #CheriePartner
TURNING DRUGSTORE LASHES INTO WISPY FAUX MINKS✨
TURNING DRUGSTORE LASHES INTO WISPY FAUX MINKS✨
Drugstore lashes can be good on their own but there are some tips I use to make my lashes fluffier and wispier. When finished we these steps your lashes can look as good as faux mink quality lashes. Products: - False lashes, I used KISS - Ever Ez Lashes - Individual lash extensions, I used Lash Stuff Simply Exquisite - Faux Mink Single Length Eyelash Extensions - Lash adhesive, I used ARDELL - Lashtite Adhesive Clear - Lash glue, I used ARDELL - Duo Quick-Set Lash Adhesive Dark - A spoolie - Small scissors - Tweezers To do: - First, with the lashes still on the tray, vigorously brush out the lashes with this spoolie. This will create the lashes to appear wispier. - Next, with the scissors trim the lash ends down to a length that works best for you. Then take the scissors and cut upwards into the lashes. This will create dimension in the lashes and also ensure there’s no harsh, straight, blunt cut. When making cuts I like to skip around each section. Folding the last tray so the lashes are peeking over the edge can help you during this step. - Use the individual lash extensions and place them randomly on the lashes. I like to put the long lashes in the outer corners and center of my eyes to create an eye-opening affect for my almond-shaped eyes. - Lastly, I trim the outer corner of the lashes to fit my eye shape. (Lashes are designed to be cut at the ends). I apply the lashes with the Lash Duo lash glue and curled them with my natural lash to blend them together. These lashes are completely customizable to your eye shape. Find what works best for you and use that to your advantage to create your perfect lash. #CheriePartner
NIACINAMIDE explained! $6 serums worth trying!
NIACINAMIDE explained! $6 serums worth trying!
Try these $6 serums to reap the many benefits of niacinamide! Hey everyone! I’m sure you’ve heard and seen so much about 𝙉𝙄𝘼𝘾𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙈𝙄𝘿𝙀 lately. It seems like every new skincare product has it and the niacinamide serums are selling like crazy. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐞? Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3. It’s the latest trend in skincare, but has been used in skincare for a very long time. It has many benefits from helping acne, repairing skin, smoothing fine lines.. the list goes on. You can find it as it’s own serum or as a main ingredient along with other powerhouse ingredients. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 locks in moisture; helps build a lipid barrier. prevents environmental damage + protects from environmental stressors and pollution. minimizes pores reduces inflammation; helps redness w/ acne and eczema. regulates oil production. rebuilds skin cells protects against sun damage & skin cancer. ( you still need SPF) helps hyperpigmentation (not to a vitamin c extent, but can help lighten spots a bit) minimizes fine lines and wrinkles *yes plz* helps acne! Overtime a decrease in breakouts. 𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙣 2 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙨 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙪𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙣: I have incorporated Niacinamide into my skincare routine for the last 3 months and I have noticed + a decrease in breakouts. + less oily skin + huge change in my pores, way less visible around my nose and cheeks. + less eczema than usual for this time of the year for me. 𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙩? For the most part, yes... Some people do have a sensitivity to niacinamide and can break out from it. If you start to break out different than your normal while using it, I suggest taking it out of your routine to see if it is not a match for your skin. 𝘼𝙛𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙉𝙞𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙪𝙢𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙮: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Since I’ve switched to this “holy grail” my skin has drastically improved. It also includes Zinc which helps with acne as well. $5.90 a price that is TOO good. Sold at Ulta and Sephora. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum Another great serum! I’ve used this one before and it works almost just as well as the ordinary. It is also %10 niacinamide. The brand also has an amazing niacinamide toner! $6 online at good molecules. Both of these serums are 10% niacinamide. Studies have shown that 2-5% works very effectively so you don’t need such a high percentage. #cheriepartner #cheriecreator
