How I Treat My Pore Problems
All my life I have struggled with clogged pores, they aren’t overly large but oh boy are they annoying. For years I tried everything to get rid of them and nothing really worked. Biore strips never pulled anything up, my nose was too oily, and some facemasks just clogged them more.
I finally found a brand that uses plant-based formulas and gave me one of the best results I have ever had.
This stuff is very straightforward to use. You take a small dab on your finger and on a wet face apply it, massaging evenly around. Though my nose area was where I struggled most, I soon realized my whole face felt amazing when using this product.
It is a gentle exfoliator and will not damage your skin at all. In fact, you skin will feel soft and buttery after using this product. The bamboo little beads are just small enough to really dig into your problem areas without leaving scars like the plastic beads would.
The exact steps I take to use this product are:
1. Wash with a noraml cleanser.
2. Keep face wet while I massage the Bambbo Exfoliator around my face.
3. Pat dry but keep some of the water on it.
4. Use a moisturizer like a water gel to prevent my face from getting chapped.
This product retails for $27.00 and you can get it easily here.
This product truly left my skin looking stunning and glowing with less pores that were large and noticeable. I found this brand because my esthetician actually used it on me during a facial and I loved it! I could feel the difference as she was doing my facial, and was convinced that I needed the product.
If you are in need of something planet-based that actually works ClarityRx will have the right products for you. They have a whole line that is dedicated to healthy skin, using natural ingredients and actually works. There is no doubt in my mind that you will love their products because they are phenomenal and you will get the most bang for your buck.
My Top 3 Favourite Lip Combos
I have tried so many different lip products and combos, and these 3 combos are definitely my favourite at the moment! All these products are long wearing and look amazing on the lips. Lip Combo #1: KKW Beauty Nude 1 Lip Liner + Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick I’m a huge fan of rosy nude lips and the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow talk lipstick is perfect! I like to pair it with the KKW Nude 1 liner because this liner acts as a sort of contour for the lips since it’s darker and more brown than the lipstick. KKW BEAUTY - KKW BEAUTY Nude Lip Liner Charlotte Tilbury - Hot Lips Lipstick Lip Combo #2: KKW Nude 1 Lip Liner + KKW Nude 1 Lipstick This has been my go to nude lip for a while now! I could never find the “perfect nude” that worked for my skin tone, and finally I’m so glad that I did. This combo is the perfect light nude shade and is perfect for everyday wear. It goes with any makeup look too! KKW BEAUTY - KKW BEAUTY Nude Lip Liner KKW BEAUTY - Nude Crème Lipstick Lip Combo #3: Kylie Cosmetics Kylie Lip Kit (Lip Liner + Matte Liquid Lip) There’s no denying the fact that Kylie Jenners pout is iconic. So what better way to achieve her go to lips than actually use her go to lip products!? The “Kylie” Lip Kit is her go to (hence the name haha) it’s the perfect pink nude and makes your lips look super plump because of the darker lipliner that comes in the kit. The pairing of the darker lip liner with the pink nude liquid lip contours your lips for that Kylie pout effect! KYLIE COSMETICS - KYLIE COSMETICS Matte Liquid Lipstick
What is the best way to apply spf and how often?
Understanding what products to use in your routine can be overwhelming, add trying to figure out how much sunscreen you need to put on your face makes it all that more complicated. Thankfully there are some tips to know exactly how much sun protection is the right amount. Proper sun protection is extremely important for everyone, especially if you are also into skincare or use actives (also known as exfoliants or acids). The best way to apply sunscreen or spf is to use the 2 to 3 finger rule for liquid sunscreens. This rule was popularized by Tiara aka MakeupforWOC who is an esthetician on Twitter and Instagram. This method involves using the index and middle finger length of sunscreen, with the option of adding your ring finger to ensure full sun protection for your face, neck and ears. To make sure you have enough sun protection before leaving the house use a full teaspoon to cover the face, neck and ears, then apply whatever else is left over on the back of your hands and half a teaspoon for only your face. When applying sunscreen, make sure there is an even application, rubbing it into the skin and wait 15 minutes before any sun exposure. Reapplication is recommended every 2 hours after the initial application. If you are also wearing makeup there are the options of spray, powder, cream/lotion for spf. The rule of thumb for reapplication of sunscreen is to blot your face before, as the oils from your face can breakdown the spf. My two fav sunscreens are LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ and EVERYDAY HUMANS - Resting Beach Face SPF30 Sunscreen Serum #CheriePartner
Dermatologist opinion: facial oil dupe
Marula oil is extracted from the marula tree nut found in Africa. Benefits of marula oil: ✔️Rich in antioxidants- which help fight off free radicals from pollution and UV exposure. ✔️Anti-aging – the antioxidants also help with its anti-aging properties to help keep the skin looking youthful. ✔️Rich in fatty acids- (oleic and linoleic fatty acids) that soften and moisturize the skin. ✔️Lightweight - What’s great about marula oil is that it hydrates the skin and absorbs well without being too heavy or greasy. ✔️Immediate glow- I definitely notice my skin is radiating after I wear this oil. I love to use this instead of a moisturizer as a last step in my nighttime skincare routine, especially during the winter months! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil Drunk elephant - $72. yes the packaging is beautiful, but that price point is way too high. It only has one ingredient: marula oil. Why is it so expensive? It is likely due to the processing. It is cold pressed with a patented process of unheated extraction. It is unclear if this process is necessary to maintain all of the benefits of marula oil. The Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil Ordinary- $8. Also 100% cold pressed marula oil. The processing may be slightly different. The application is a little less light weight, and for this reason slower to absorb, but still blends easily into the skin and gives an immediate glow. Final thoughts: after trying both, I would choose the ordinary product because they are both so similar! What would you choose?
