How Arbutin Can Help Cure Dark Spots Hyperpigmentation?

Many of us deal with pimples and acne, and one of the biggest problems is the dark marks they can leave behind afterward. While these can cause us to never leave the house without a full face of makeup, they aren’t actually permanent. Often, these dark marks fade over the years, and there are products like arbutin that can help.
What causes dark spots?
Dark spots are most often caused by scarring from pimples and other areas of broken skin. Other causes are:
  • Sunspots
  • Scars from cuts and scratches (even very minor ones)
  • Scars from acne and pimples
  • Age spots
  • Melasma
  • Darkening/scarring from extremely dry skin (such as eczema)
How do you get rid of dark spots?
Most people will reach for lightening creams when they have a dark spot they want to magic away. These often include ingredients like vitamin C and arbutin.
What is arbutin?
Arbutin is a natural version of a controversial ingredient called hydroquinone. This ingredient isn’t popular because it has several side effects, including hypersensitivity, skin damage and irritation, and even issues with contamination.
Fortunately, arbutin is entirely natural, so you don’t have to worry about severe side effects if you want to use arbutin for dark spots. It’s much more gentle but still effective. It originates in the leaves of fruit trees and other plants. It’s effective because it prevents the formation of melanin, which, when overproduced, causes hyperpigmentation.
How does arbutin work?
Arbutin works because it inhibits something called tyrosinase, which helps melanin to form. This is an enzyme that is produced when your skin cells come into contact with UV light – it’s why you get a tan.
Because arbutin inhibits tyrosinase, melanin won’t form as easily. Arbutin doesn’t deal with hyperpigmentation by simply removing the dead cells on the surface, as exfoliators do, it penetrates the skin and prevents it from forming in the first place.
So, what are the best products if you want to use arbutin?
5 Best Products Containing Arbutin
  • Paula’s Choice Radiance Renewal Mask
Radiance Renewal Mask, PAULA'S CHOICE, cherie
PAULA'S CHOICERadiance Renewal Mask
This is a great choice if you want to lighten your hyperpigmentation because it’s a mask you can leave on overnight, or during the day if you’re planning a self-care day or working from home. It contains arbutin as well as other restorative ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and niacinamide.
  • Arcona Brightening Drops
These drops are a little on the pricy side ($44 a bottle), but a little goes a long way. These drops combine arbutin with other classic brightening ingredients, such as vitamin C and kojic acid. If you’re looking for a way to get rid of a stubborn dark area rather than using it all over, this is a great product.
  • SkinCeuticals Phyto+
This is another product that combines arbutin with kojic acid. It’s a popular combination because while the arbutin helps to lighten pigmentation over time, the kojic acid keeps everything looking and feeling fresh, plump, and youthful. This particular product doesn’t always get on well with super sensitive skin, so if you’ve reacted to other skin products before, look elsewhere.
  • The Ordinary. Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA
The great thing about this product is it’s super open about what it contains – and it contains two great ingredients for your skin. It’s a concentrated serum with purified arbutin and hyaluronic acid, which helps fight dark spots while keeping skin hydrated. It’s got a lovely gel-like texture which is cool and refreshing and glides over the skin.
  • The Inkey List Alpha Arbutin
This is a great arbutin product if you don’t want to spend a huge amount just to give it a try. This Alpha Arbutin from The Inkey List usually retails around $15, which is a fraction of the price of most of the others on this list. It combines arbutin with hyaluronic acid and squalane to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.
Arbutin is one of the best products to use if your prone to hyperpigmentation from scarring – because it inhibits the formation of the melanin in the first place, using it often will help protect you from further marks in the future! It’s definitely something every generation of the family needs in their bathroom cabinet.

Wash Face Test to determine your skin type!🥰
Wash Face Test to determine your skin type!🥰
The trick to healthy skincare is knowing your skin. That is the only way to identify the appropriate skincare products tailor made for your skin type. Not all skin is created equal. So, it is important for you to know your skin's natural state. Here is a quick and easy way to determine your skin type. The wash face test 🧼 Wash your face 🛑 Do not apply any product after washing face ⏰ Wait for 2 hours After 2 hours, examine how your skin feels. Your skin type is Normal: if no oil or flakes. Oily: if skin is shiny all over. Dry: if skin feels tight or flakes Combo: T-zone oily, dry/normal everywhere else on face That is it! I lucked out with a combination skin type. sigh! My cheeks are always dry while that T-zone is dripping oil!! Always a struggle finding the right balance of products to maintain a healthy glow. However, if I manage to do it so can you!! Now go ahead, try the wash test to find out your skin type!! xoxo, IG: @theculderm

I’ve been using thermal water for over two years, I started off using this product on my body and now still use it on my face What is my experience ? My experience with thermal water has been good, I suffer from eczema on both my body and face. It was hard finding products that wouldn’t irritate or cause a flare up. When that happened this product saved my skin and soothed it. At first I was not exactly sure how water would help my skin, but after doing research thermal waters are meant to have healing properties for the body and skin. What are my thoughts? This product is nothing short of amazing, you are able to use it for multiple areas and it lasts so long. The mist is super fine which makes it perfect for spraying on large or small spots, and pressing into the skin similar to how you apply a toner. Would I recommend to a friend? I would absolutely recommend this product to a friend or family or even someone looking to help soothe their skin but who doesn’t want to break the bank!! My overall rating? 5/5 Would I repurchase?
