☀️AM Skincare Routine Hey guys! I wanted to share my AM skincare routine to see if anyone might have any suggestions for me, and to help others out! A background on my skin: My skin is very sensitive and can be acne-prone, but typically does very well with my current skin care routine. I also have combination skin, with some dry areas but I also have large pores on my cheeks (thanks genetics). Products: - Cerave - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I LOVE this face wash! It really cleanses my skin, but I don’t find that it dries me out. I think it works really well for sensitive skin. - PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a product that I think has truly transformed my skin! It has noticeably made my skin much smoother than it was before I started using this product, I highly suggest it to anyone with acne-prone skin. I use this product 5 times per week. - Neutrogena - Rapid Clear, Stubborn Acne, Daily Leave-On Mask | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I like using a BHA and Benzoyl Peroxide combo to prevent acne. I think this product is fine for a Benzoyl Peroxide product, but would certainly be open to new suggestions! - Cerave - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is the BEST lotion I have ever used on my face! I find it to be great for my sensitive skin, and I love how hydrated and glowy it makes my face look throughout the day. - Cerave - Eye Repair Cream | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really like this eye cream because the second ingredient is Niacinamide, which is great for under the eyes due to its brightening and soothing qualities! - PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really do love this SPF and use it daily, the ingredient list is amazing, and it smooths onto my skin so nicely. I do think that it may cause me to break out sometimes on my cheeks though. So other SPF suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Here, @juliachristine shares her skincare routine with us! She lists the different products from her saved list and tells us how she feels about these items.
Any suggestion? Rate my new routine🙌🙌 Heyyyy guys! I'm 24, a postgraduate student in CA. I have combination skin with acne on my chin. I hate ance and wanna change my routine products😿!!! After doing some research on Cherie, I have saved some of the Ordinary products. Hope this post could help you a lot!! And it would be sooo great if you guys could give some suggestions about these items.  - The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this eye serum is so popular on Cherie. I have some dark circles under my eyes, and wanted to brighten them. I cannot live without drinking and playing video games in the midnight, so I really need eye serum to save my life lollll - The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I'm not sure about the effect of this product. The official website said it works for all skin types. - The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My friends told me it's the best one for the price. Is it real?😂 - The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This one contains 7% glycolic acid, amino acids, aloe vera, ginseng, and tasmanian pepperberry. I don't know what are they actually lolll. - The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I think this item is super powerful so I need to try it more cautious- shorter amounts of time and only once or twice a week. I think it's more suitable for oily skin : ) Any suggestions for my new routine products? Hope it can help you find your favorite products lol. Thank you sooo much xoxo!!

VOLUMIZED, BOUNCY CURLS (90’s SUPERMODEL INSPIRE
VOLUMIZED, BOUNCY CURLS (90’s SUPERMODEL INSPIRE
I love the look of a blowout but I do not have the right technique to create one. The brush always ends up tangled in my hair and I get so frustrated. I created this look to fake a voluminous blowout (and it doesn’t involve the brush getting caught in your hair). This look was inspired by the 90’s supermodel era. It is part of a 2-post video and I will post the makeup look tomorrow. Products used - drybar - High Tops Self-Grip Rollers $10these rollers I originally bought to enhance an at home blowout but have been using them to create extra volume while curling my hair they come 5 in a pack with 3 large rollers and 3 smaller rollers. - $16 drybar - Hold Me Hair Clips These are optional to use to secure the rollers in place. The rollers on their own can hold there place but I haven’t fished out how to do that yet. These come in a 4 pack. - #Revlon - Curling wand 2 inch[products]#[ThreeStars] I love this curling iron because the large barrel creates big curls. The only thing is this curling wand tends to not hold a curl for long. - amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray This spray is similar to a hairspray but it it’s volumizing. A lot really goes a long way with this product. If you use too much, the hair can become crunchy. It can be used on wet or dry hair. - drybar - Triple Sec 3-in-1 Finishing Spray Lush Scent Living proof. - Full Dry Volume Blast These two products work very similar to each other. They both create noticeable difference in volume when applied correctly. (The drybar product makes your hair smell so good!) To do: - Sperate the top layer of the hair and section off the back. - Take a layer of the top section and spritz the section with amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray . Use the curling wand to heat up the hair to hold a curl better. With a large roller, roll up the section and secure with drybar - Hold Me Hair Clips . Using a clip to secure is optional as the rollers can stay in place on their own. - Put as many rollers as you feel necessary to create the added volume. I like to keep these rollers at the top sections of my hair. - With the back section of hair, Spritz each section with amika: - Brooklyn Bombshell Blowout Spray . Use the curling iron to create large curls. When releasing the curl, hold it in place for a bit then release. - Let the rollers sit for about 1+ hours. Take out the rollers. Lift up the hair and spray with drybar - Triple Sec 3-in-1 Finishing Spray Lush Scent and Living proof. - Full Dry Volume Blast to add lots of volume. Until I learn how to do a blowout on my hair I will be sticking to this method. #CherieCreator
Best Foundation for Oily Skin
Best Foundation for Oily Skin
Today’s topic, my girls, is all about oily skin foundations. I have combination skin. I am a combination oil in summer and combination dry in winter. I am 25, my skin condition is mostly okay through out the season. I have a lot of textures and pores around my T-zone - cheek and nose area. My T-zone and forehead are always oily and supper dry on my cheeks. In my daily skincare routine, I moisturize everything. For my foundation, I am a fan of semi-matte finish look. So I am always looking for a best foundation. I’ve tried and tested a lot through our the year and here I want to share my most favorite one for this year. I always put primer as part of my makeup routine. I moisturize first, then put sunscreen on and primer before foundation. This is my all year round routine. Sunscreen is for protecting my skin from sun damage and aging. With primer, I just found it keeps my foundation stay well throughout the day. Now here comes the review on the star product that we have today. I know a lot of my oily skin friends are loving it. This is to said perfectly made for oily and combination skin. ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation I love the overall finish of this product. It has good coverage, 75% of the spots and acne scares are covered pretty well. It is also very light weighted. It is not too heavy or caky. I love the fact that it is creating this flawless finish but still very natural look. And after 6 hours, I start to get oily on my forehead and around my nose area. But it still looks pretty good even with after 10 hours. And I feel like I dont have to powder it that much I would also as always put a thin layer of loose translucent setting powder. One thing I have to say that I personally do not like it too much is the combination of my bronzer with this foundation. I not sure if it is the color or the texture, it makes me look grey every time I put these 2 together. But other than that, this is a fantastic product and I am loving it so far, Highly recommended to oily and combination. Dry skin might want to stay away from it.
CHERIE MADE ME DO IT 🍒
CHERIE MADE ME DO IT 🍒
Everyday, I sit scrolling through Cherie, and I see all of you posting about The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid 2% Mask and how it compares to their Salicylic Acid Solution. I hadn’t tried either of these products, but after the 1000th post, I decided I had to try out the Salicylic Acid Mask. WHAT IS SALICYLIC ACID? 💧 Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxide Acid (BHAs). It’s used for reducing acne by diving deep into your skin, exfoliating it, and keeping your pores nice and clear. In other words... it’s a game changer for blackheads and whiteheads especially. THE PRODUCT:🧴 The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid 2% Mask is used to target tone and textural irregularities. The mask is infused with charcoal and clays which really help do the job of deep cleansing. It’s a rinse-off formula and is quite thick and grainy in texture. HOW I USE THE PRODUCT: 👸🏻 I follow the instructions on the back of the bottle quite strictly... I apply the mask once a week to cleansed skin and leave it on for no longer than 10 minutes. I then rinse it off with warm water, and apply a moisturizer. I usually do this in the evenings whilst doing my weekly pamper routine. MY THOUGHTS ON THE PRODUCT: 💭 I can definitely see some minor changes in the texture of my skin however, I don’t think it’s necessarily helped my acne issues or blackheads. I haven’t been using the mask for very long but I’m excited to see whether my skin will change even more as I continue to use this mask. Thank you to all the Cherie users for making me do it! Lots of love! 💛 Paula x
💅🏼removal +nail care guide (artificial nails)
💅🏼removal +nail care guide (artificial nails)
Acrylic, dip, press ons, gel, you name it- I’ve tried it. But artificial nail removal can be really hard on your natural nails. I found a way to nurse mine in between manicures. 💧 REMOVING GEL, DIP, & ACRYLIC NAILS 💧 (Press ons get their own section) Get a Glass bowl, a wooden cuticle pusher, & 100% Acetone. I use the ULTA BEAUTY - 100% Maximum Strength Acetone It’s 16 oz for $4.99, which is great value! Make sure the bowl is glass or metal, because acetone dissolves some plastics. Also it has to be 100% acetone. Regular polish remover can take hours to break down acrylic or nail glue. PS: for acrylic, you should clip the extensions before the next step. Fill a bowl with enough acetone to soak your nails in. I know it’s super drying... Some people recommend putting Vaseline around the nail to protect your skin. I haven’t tried this yet. Still, let them sit in the bowl for 5-10 minutes. Take it out, push off excess acrylic, & repeat. So gel, dip, and acrylic break down differently. Gel tends to chip off, dip fades into the liquid, and acrylic turns to jelly. When you take it out, use a napkin/ cuticle nail pusher to remove stubborn loose ends. Acrylic nails need this the most. You can use a wooden or metal cuticle pusher to gently shave down the jelly. Repeat the acetone -> pusher process until it’s completely off. ⭐️ AND DONE ⭐️ 🌺 REMOVING PRESS ONS FOR REUSE 🌺 Acetone destroys press-on nails. Yes, even Soy polish remover does. :( made that mistake once already. So what can you do? Fill a bowl with soap & water to dip your nails in & soften the glue. Use your wooden stick or floss to gently separate from loose edges of the nail. DONT work from the free edge of the nail because that will damage the length. And whatever u do, don’t yank it off! This process requires a lot of patience but is worth it to keep your press ons safe. 🧖‍♀️ POST MANICURE NAIL CARE 🧖‍♀️ Two things contribute to nail health: 🌊 Hydration 💎 Hardness Hydration helps your nails bend, making them less likely to break. But they can’t be toooo soft. To achieve both those things, I use nailtiques - Nail Protein Formula 2 Plus and HERITAGE STORE - Organic Lavender Castor Oil The oil comes with 8 oz for $11.99. I just fill up a tiny bowl with it to soak my fingers in throughout the week. In my bare nails photo, you can see how it keeps my skin moist and my nails flake-free. The Nailtiques hardens your nails by giving them a protein boost. But careful- don’t use it too much. Too much hardness makes for brittle nails that can snap easily if they’re bumped. 🚨 ONE MORE THING: Avoid removing acrylic with an electric file. It’s easy to hit your natural nail without realizing, and we don’t want thinner nails! Worst comes to worst, biotin can help you grow healthy, gorgeous nails again 🥀
Creating Your Skin Care Routine
Creating Your Skin Care Routine
Okay all you PYTs, this one's for you. You're young, you're beautiful, and you haven't thought much about taking care of your skin in the long run. That's okay, but it's time to adult now. I'm about to drop some knowledge on you. According to the American Academy of Dermatology (the AAD) here's how you can start your skin care journey: 1) Pay attention to your skin type and give your skin what it needs. If you have sensitive skin, use products formulated for sensitive skin, if you have dry skin use moisturizing products, and if you have oils skin use oil free or noncomedogenic products. 2) PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION. This is the most important part so Imma say it again 💁🏼‍♀️ PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION. Ultra violet radiation from the sun (or God forbid, a tanning bed) can lead to early skin aging and CANCER. To protect yourself, seek shade whenever possible, wear protective clothing, and use a broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen of an SPF of 30 or higher. THAT MEANS NO MORE TANNING ❌ That awesome tan you got from laying out all summer? Yeah, that's damaged skin. Without sun protection, UVA rays are able to penetrate the middle layer of skin (the dermis) and damage collagen fibers resulting in a build up of elastin which then contributes to wrinkles and leathery skin. But more on sun damage in a later post. Sun damage is not a joke 📢 take it from a redhead‼️ 3) Use a retinoid if possible. Retinoids have been dubbed "the gold standard of anti-aging" for a reason, y'all! Retinoids increase the rate of cellular turnover to exfoliate clogged pores and reduce the appearance of fine lines, essentially treating acne and wrinkles simultaneously 👏👏👏 It's recommended to start simple, meaning wash your face with a gentle cleanser in the morning and at night, use a moisturizer with SPF during the day (don't forget to reapply) and a retinoid at night. If you don't experience irritation with the retinoid, don't deviate from this routine for at least 2 months. That's a ball park of how long you will need to get comfortable with the retinoid. This routine is a great starting (or starting over) point because it allows you to get to know your skin and see what you'd like to address after the retinoid has taken effect. My personal advice is to find a retinoid that you love and build the rest of your skin care routine around it. Pictured is my favorite retinol cream Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Regenerating Face Cream The brand Neutrogena is owned by Johnson&Johnson, which has over 20 years of research and development of retinol and over 20 retinol patents. This particular product was the subject of a clinical trial which resulted in ongoing improvement of wrinkles, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation in patients throughout 1 year of nightly use. Unfortunately, I will have to revisit this AMAZING product in another post because of Cherie's character limit 😢 Stay tuned! And happy skincare hunting! ❤️
