I first fell in love with makeup and beauty when I was in 6th grade at my middle school. A friend of mine was a true goth and always was covered head to toe in black, safety pins, and heavy metal band patches. She always had these mesmerizing big black Smokey eyes that she painted on every morning at her locker. I being a closeted trans pre-teen always wanted to explore the world of makeup and beauty but was too afraid to try because of the bullying I would inevitably receive. I had this burning desire to let my true identity shine; to be the girl I knew I was, and for me I knew makeup could allow me to do that. One day I mustered up the courage to ask my friend if I could try her Hot Topic black eyeliner, not only did she give it to me without hesitation but she encouraged me! For me putting on that black eyeliner felt so liberating. The bullying got worse of course but I didn't care because that eyeliner became my war paint. Every day I would go to my friends locker and play with her makeup before class, taking it off after school so my parents wouldn't see. As the years went on makeup became my secret impenetrable armor, I got better, I learned new skills, and acquired new products. Even though people were so cruel and harsh, so judgmental towards me for wearing makeup, it never stoped me. My Armor of foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and blush kept me going and kept me confident. Makeup made me fearless and courageous, it stopped me from caring what other people thought of me, because I felt beautiful within myself. Makeup allowed me to see the girl trapped inside begging to get out. Beauty set me free!t care because that eyeliner became my war paint.Every day I would go to my friends locker and play with her makeup before class, taking it off after school so my parents wouldn't see. * Hi Guys! My name is Hezekiah (He/ Him) but on the Internet everyone calls me King Kiahh. I am 22 years old currently living In Indianapolis, Indiana! * Growing up a Preachers Kid in Saginaw, Michigan the things I was interested in didn’t always sit well with my parents. Don’t get me wrong, I played many different sports and video games but I always had a certain spice about myself that no one understood. * My Journey in school wasn’t the best for me because I would always get bullied for being feminine. Kids made fun of me because I didn’t sag and hung out with a bunch of girls. I preferred to wear Converse over Jordan’s lol. * Fast forward to High-school a chapter in my life book where I learned more about myself I wasn’t very confident. All of the things I went through it left me at a all time low. From trying to hide/run away from just being myself and always wanting to make my parents proud I had to figure out a way to get out of the dark moment I was in. And that’s when I discovered beauty. It showed me that you can do whatever you want with it. It’s not how you put it on. It’s how you express yourself! Don’t take this as me saying you need makeup to be confident because you DON’T! In life God puts certain things in our life’s to teach us how to grow. Makeup taught me how to be more confident. Tuh. Being a Black Gay Man in Makeup will sure build your confidence. - Follow me on IG: Kingkiahh #CheriePartner #BeautyWithoutBarriers #CheriePride

COLLAGEN— THE SECRET TO WRINKLE-FREE SKIN?!
COLLAGEN— THE SECRET TO WRINKLE-FREE SKIN?!
I’ve always heard/been told that once you hit 25 you need to start incorporating collagen into your daily routine. Our bodies natural collagen production begins to decline and adding it or collage- boosting products can help to keep plump, wrinkle-free skin. I am under 25 but that doesn’t mean that I can't still benefit from collagen products.  Collagen What is it:  Collagen is a protein found in your body that provides it’s structure including the skin, hair and nails.  Collagen decline: Many factors decline collagen production including: •age (typically after 25) •sugar/refined carbs •excess sun exposure •smoking How to boost collagen production: Fortunately there are many ways to boost collagen production. Including foods, supplements, and skin care. This can either be incorporated directly from the source (collagen) or by the collagen-boosting foods. Collagen foods: •bone broth •egg whites •fish •lean meat •spirulina Collagen-boosting foods: •vitamin C; such as citrus fruits, broccoli  •zinc; such as certain cereals, breads •manganese; such as leafy green vegetables and teas •copper; such as nuts and shellfish Supplemnets: Supplements are an easy way to incorporate collagen into the body. They can be incorporated into foods or drinks making it practical for everyday use. Some forms of supplements include: •gelatin •collagen pills •collagen peptide/protein powders •marine collagen Skincare: If you are using a skincare product this claims to have pure collagen in it, it may not be as beneficial as you’d like it to be. That is because collagen in it’s pure form may be to hard to penetrate through the skin and will leave you with no benefits. When choosing skincare products for collagen, its best to chose products that claim to boost collagen production. These products will contain ingredients mentioned above such as vitamin-c and even retinols.  A product that I use that boosts collagen production with the help of active marine plant extracts is:  ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream — $128 Key Ingredients: •Padina Pavonica: A unique Mediterranean algae with proven outstanding anti-aging benefits (aids in the production of collagen) •Mimosa: An anti-inflammatory, toning and astringent. It has a pleasing, delicate aroma •Rose: A natural fragrance component with nurturing and calming properties -Ulta.com What is it: Hydrating, wrinkle cream that helps firm the skin. How I use: This cream is intended for day use but I find it way to thick to use during the day. I like to use this cream at night as a moisturizer to seal in all of my other creams and serums. I apply all over my face and neck.  Results/Recommendations: Like previously stated, this cream is very thick. I’m prefer lightweight creams over thicker ones. This cream is not irritating and did not cause any side affects for my sensitive skin. However I did not see any dramatic differences for the amount of money the product cost. I feel as if other products work better but I do like that it aids in collagen production. I personally would not repurchase.  If you are worried about wrinkles or are interested in living a healthier lifestyle, I would recommend for you to think about incorporating ways to boost your collagen production. This can either be through quitting bad habits such as smoking, making better food choices, or incorporating collagen supplements/skincare into your daily routine. Lastly, if you are a vegetarian, etc. it is good to know that there are plenty of plant-based options available.  #CheriePartner

A quick Cheat guide to choosing the right Acid ✨
A quick Cheat guide to choosing the right Acid ✨
I find this Flowchart to be a cheat guide to start with your Chemical exfoliation routin. 😊✨ Exfoliation is one of the steps in your skin care routine that can elevate your current routine from good to great. So often I find my skin starting to feel a little bit dull, and I realize that I have been leaving out exfoliation. When I wake up after a night that I have applied a chemical exfoliant, (I really like The Ordinary’s 7% Glycolic Acid, Sunday Riley's Good Genes) The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment I notice my skin has a much more rested and fresh look. Also, my skin has that 'Glass skin' look and feel. My textural irregularities get even and my skin tone is evened out! Some of the skin concerns that exfoliation is great for targeting include: 🌻Enlarged pores 🌻Uneven skin tone/Hyperpigmentation 🌻Rough skin texture 🌻Fine lines So… back to the big question: ✨What does exfoliate mean? Skin is consistently renewing its cells, by shedding its surface layer. When dead skin cells are flushed away and a fresh layer of cells comes to the surface, the new layer is younger and smoother in appearance. This process is frequent in younger skin, however slows with age. The process of exfoliating is advancing the process of removing dead skin cells and revealing the fresh new layer of healthy skin either physically or chemically. Physical exfoliators are granular, using natural beads or crystals that are rubbed on the skin, sloughing away the dead cells on the top layer of skin. Chemical exfoliants work by targeting the bonds between cells, breaking these bonds, allowing the dead skin cells to break away. Chemical exfoliation is able to penetrate deeper into the skin, targeting congestion that is associated with clogged pores leading to acne. In short exfoliation simply means to shed away dead skin cells with the help of a product. Want to know which exfoliating acids are best for your skin? Follow through the flowchart in Image above to figure out which is best for you! Here are some options/products I love and you can choose from: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner TULA SKINCARE - Pro-Glycolic 10% Resurfacing Toner Allies of Skin - Mandelic Pigmentation Corrector Night Serum
🚨Dupes Alert: La Mer vs The Ordinary🚨
🚨Dupes Alert: La Mer vs The Ordinary🚨
Hi everyone, 🤩 Recently I purchased Lamer serum from Seoul airport, whose price is super super good!!!! I have used it for a week. I got to say. It surprisingly does the refine work!!! Initially, I just expected to use it as a regular serum, which is mainly focused on moisture. I have a combination skin type. However!!! I found my pores got minimized after using it! And my skin is softer and glows more than before. It is a massive surprise for me!! As for the moisture, it is just fine, nothing special (cu z it is hundreds of bucks) For the ordinary Squalane, I have heard it a lot before! I also purchased it from Seoul airport(my friends bought it and shipped it to me). I received it three weeks ago to share some thoughts about the difference between this and the Lamer one. The Squalane can really do a moisture job very well. Its drop feels super smooth and easily absorbed. I won’t feel my skin dry all day after I apply it every morning. Especially in winter times, moisture is almost the most crucial thing for skincare, and the ordinary Squalane can complete the mission with a not bad price. Dupe or not? I feel like, if you only need moisturizer, the ordinary Squalane is perfect, but if you want to fix other skin problems, may go for Lamer. All in all, up to your budget!😘😘
Quick and Easy Halloween Hair Tutorial 🐭
Quick and Easy Halloween Hair Tutorial 🐭
I love Halloween! I love the decorations and the candy of course, but I don't love taking hours to get ready! Every year my costume is quick, easy and made using things I already have lying around. This year is now different, I'm going as a cute mouse and only needed 1 product for this hair look, the scünci - No Damage Elastics Brown ! I have super curly, shoulder length hair and did this style on second day hair. The only product that is in it is the CURLSMITH - Curl Defining Styling Souffle . It has strong hold and gives great definition. I applied on soaking wet hair and let my hair air dry. It's been slept on and gone through an intense workout, I didn't break the cast in order to wear it as long as possible! These mouse ears are super easy to do and will work for all hair types! You could also play around with the shape of the buns are create bunny or cat ears! For a classic mouse look go for a higher bun and add some volume to them! Here's how I did the mouse ears: 1. Section the hair in half with a middle part. 2. Using a hair tie create a pig tail on one side, you can choose the placement but because my hair is shorter I went with a side placement. 3. Add a matching pig tail to the other side! 4. Using your third hair tie create a fun bun! Since my hair is curly I didn't need to pull out any pieces but I love the messy look! 5. Do the same to the other side. 6. You can stop here and your done! OR add some fun accessories like sparkly clips and bobby pins! Have a safe and fun Halloween! I'll be posting a makeup tutorial for this look soon! 🐭❤️ #CheriePartner
