10 Glamorous Lip Gloss Makeup Looks You’ve Got to Try

Aug. 23
2020 is the year of vivid color and experimentation. If one good thing has come about due to social distancing, it’s that makeup artists have been spending more time on Instagram! This season is all about drama and creativity (which we love!), so here are our top 10 lipgloss looks for your inspiration.
Just Peachy

This artist has paired a gorgeous peach lipgloss with a sleek black eyeliner for some added drama, and we are here for it! This look is super versatile and perfect for day or night.
Bronze on Bronze

Monochrome looks aren’t always easy to pull it off – but this look has it down. Bronze is always stunning on darker skin, and matched with a bronze eyeshadow, this lipgloss is absolutely beautiful. It’s understated, classy and tasteful.
Juicy Ombre

By using a dark lipliner, this glossy look has incredible volume. Of course, paired with a similar shade of brown and grey for a dramatic eye, this look is a total show stopper.
Baby Pink

We adore this look! The soft baby pink lip works so well with the dark purple eyeshadow, and really draws the attention to her beautiful big lips. The demi matte gloss is a must for any makeup collection, especially if you just want a moist-look sheen.

Whether you want a low-key lip tint for everyday use or something to highlight a dramatic eye color, skin colored lipgloss is making a huge comeback. Originally a classic ‘90s look, this style of make-up is so tasteful on any shade.
Jet Black

If you’re partial to the gothic look, this one’s for you! This make-up artist paired a bold lip with a bold eyeshadow, giving a striking witchy vibe. If you can pull this off do, because it looks incredible – especially with soft fabrics like lace.
Go Glitter

For a fun and playful addition to your party look, add some glittery lipgloss. Not only does it draw all attention to your lips, but it allows us all to embrace that childlike love of anything sparkly! Keep the rest of the look neutral, with big falsies and winged eyeliner for true understated drama.
Iridescent Beauty

This shimmery look is so ethereal and magical! Release your inner mermaid with iridescent lipgloss that catches every color in the light. Make sure you use green or purple on the eye to bring out the shades of the shimmer.
Deep Purple

Another dark lipgloss, this dark purple tone is ideal for night-time looks. Paired with a neutral eyeshadow and dewy skin, this heavily pigmented color is gorgeous. Definitely wear it if you’re brave enough to!
Clear and Simple

The model on the right shows off their clear, youthful skin with a soft, transparent lipgloss. The look is high-fashion, timeless and super refreshing! If you’ve not got much time, simply use some concealer, define your brows, swipe on that gloss and walk out the door!
Lip gloss isn’t the glue-like substance it used to be, now it’s the shiny, moisturizing gloss we’ve always wanted. Take some lipgloss inspiration from these looks and try them for yourself – you won’t regret it!

Have you guys seen Emily in Paris? I know its stereotypical, unrealistic, and kindofunfairtothefrench but... It was so entertaining. I binged it in 2 days. I also found Emily’s actress, Lily Collins, super pretty. She looks like Snow White in so many makeup looks, so I tried my hand at once. This is what she wore in the 2017 Oscars. Here’s a few tips for how I did this look! 🍷 TIPS 🍷 Start the liner with pencil. And keep it in the outer corner of your eyes. The pencil should emphasize your upper and lower outer corners to frame the wing. I used my PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Eye Boost Gel Eyeliner Trio Avoid felt-tipped liner. Ironically, that’s what I used here. The L'ORÉAL - Infallible Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner IS great quality and value. Its opaque and hasn’t gone bad with on/off use in 2 years. The finish is sort of shiny, and it glides on easy. Buuuut for this look, go for full paint liquid liner. It’ll make the wing more pronounced, and less likely to fray. The felt tip is great, but the ink can run low for this kind of look. Use white + light eyeshadow to emphasize the space. This helps a LOT. It doesn’t look like it at first, but this look has shadow! I used the URBAN DECAY - UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palettepalette. Take a color that’s your skin color (but shimmery) and apply it all over your eyelid. (I used the shade Bathwater) Put a MINIMAL amount of brown crease shadow at the outer edge (Anaheim). Do a bright inner corner highlight (Blonde) AAAAAND fill in the space between your black liner (Blonde). It might soften the black liner- No worries, pure liquid liner can easily go over it again. Still, using skin-toned / brighter shadow really makes the black pop! Make your lashes biggest at the center. Guys I had to redo my lashes like 10 times. And I trimmed the ends a LOT. It doesn’t even make it across my entire lid, but that’s okay- To match Lilly Collin’s look, center the lashes. Opt for a frayed look like e.l.f. - Natural Lash Kit so it opens your eyes without hiding the liner. I personally like this lash set and glue. The lashes are a little fragile, but they’re comfortable. And I like that the glue is clear- You can’t see all the places I accidentally got it on my eye. 🤡 Pick a lip color with sheen. Her lips aren’t fully matte in this picture. But I like that- they have a pretty glow. I went for a more berry looking color. The NYX - Soft Matte Metallic Lip Cream in Madrid is just as good as the regular matte lip colors. They’re not drying, and they’re super pigmented. And finally, a subtle blush. I found that peach/ amber goes well with this look. Apply it to the apples of your cheek, and avoid the under eyes. This will make the eye area look more open. I used the BOURJOIS - Little Round Pot Blusher in Rose Amber. A little hard to swatch, but pretty and subtle!

Check out these creators profiles for their reviews on the cherie finds! @JadesJourney “I mentioned I was ordering a few of The Ordinary products a couple of weeks ago and Yay! they arrived last Friday. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I purchased three ordinary products because of reviews from fellow creators 🤗 thank you creators, and I’m interested in organic vegan 🌱, cruelty-free products. My haul included…” @HilaryStrano “While I love this app for more than one reason, the biggest reason is how we can learn from one another. I am very open about my struggles with eczema, rosacea, extremely sensitive skin so on one of my posts someone left a comment about adding collagen supplement. So I listened and here's what I found.” @pastelpink_bunny “This mini set is incredible! It contains their five best sellers for all skin types✨” @madihomewood “💔I’m pretty bummed about this eye cream tbh, I was so stoked about the brand (and should mention that I have been liking some of the other products so far) but this one really was a miss for me.”
Thank you guys!
Thank you guys!
Yesterday I received my leaderboard prize for being in the top 3 and I got to use it tonight!!!! First I just want to say I am just so thankful 🤗 to all of my followers and supporters for cheering me on. I am crazy overwhelmed (in a good way) with all the love ❤️ I have received since being a part of this community. Not to mention I am so close to 6k Followers and I just can believe it!! I have been such a hermit for a while, I was not even an avid social media user. I decided to start doing little things for my self with skincare and makeup, then one day I stumbled across Cherie and things just changed. I went from just cheering and saving posts that interested me, to my first post, to a large following and actual friends. This was all so unexpected and a such a blessing. I found myself again aside from being a mother and wife. I found self love and began a much needed journey of self care. Also thank you Cherie!! This app has given me a lot of joy. The support you guys give is amazing! Just being on the leaderboard was such an honor and now there are gifts! You guys rock! Thank you again! This oils is so lush! HERBIVORE - Emerald CBD + Adaptogens Deep Moisture Glow Oil I just love the packaging, I don’t know if I will throw the box away!❤️ The glass bottle and beautiful green/blue oil are gorgeous. It has a very Earthy scent to it, but it is not over powering and fades quickly. Also a little goes a long way, I only used like 3 drops before my moisturizer. The feel on my skin reminds my of my Sunday Riley night oil, but not as heavy. My skin felt nice and moisturized with a nice glow. Contains hemp-derived Cannabis sativa seed + adaptogenic herbs to soothe, hydrate, and gives a nice glow. This product is high in moisture making it Perfect for the coming dry months. Contains mushrooms and turmeric to defend skin against the environment and reduce wrinkles. At $48 this could possibly replace my Sunday Riley oil....because that stuff is super expensive!!! I love it but my wallet doesn’t! However this Emerald oil it a great replacement honestly and it’s not as heavy an oil. There is not a huge difference in the heaviness but it is noticeable to me. I also like how the scent fades, the Luna oil does not. Really a wonderful prize! Thank you !🙏🥰 ❤️Cherie Creator
How to Get More Use Out of Your Bright Colors💕
How to Get More Use Out of Your Bright Colors💕
HELLOOOOOOO! I had a much needed mini break yesterday so there was no post BUT TODAY... I wanted to share some awesome tips since for most of us it’s fall/winter season and many of our bright colors are hibernating until spring! If you’re a person who typically says no to bright pinks, oranges, neon greens, etc. in the fall/winter season or don’t know what to do with them, here’s how you can utilize those colors to benefit your look/wardrobe! I set an example in this photograph of a very wearable but bright makeup look. Here’s how I got it to look “put together” without needed to add a boatload of other colors or create a high contrast. By exploring these techniques you can get a softer look but still stay in the same color spectrum 1. Play with the tones of the shade and apply it to different areas of the face! It can be difficult to use multiple shades of the same color spectrum on the face because things can turn messy/muddy very quickly. You might even look sunburnt if you’re using pinks. This can be due to the fact that some colors have the same undertone that creates the final product. Your skintone also plays a role in how the final results will look. The easiest thing you can do is play with these undertones. Have some fun with shades that can be cool or warm in undertone. You can balance out the face by having some cool tones in certain areas and warm in others. This way you won’t look “sickly”, “crazy”, or sunburnt” at the end of everything. In photo 2, you can see towards my eye area that it’s slightly “warmer” than the makeup on the rest of my face, specifically my upper lid area. The shade I created was a mixture of the color “Wild” and “Delicate” from Violet Voss - Sakura Blossom Eyeshadow and Pressed Pigment Palette , which are both warm in color/undertone. Next, I added a light cool-toned pink on my lower lid. I wanted the eyes and cheeks to capture most of the attention. Therefore, adding the cool-toned pink helped add dimension without taking away the focal points of the upper lid and cheeks. The idea is to have a sense of balance. 2. Play with Textures! If you have a ton of shades that have bright colored sparkles/shimmers and don’t know what to do with them, use them here! Imagine this being your wardrobe. You can enhance certain patterns in a blouse or t shirt with another pattern. This concept is the same for eyeshadows/face makeup. The micro-particles can really rejuvenate your makeup and enhance the look to create dimension. Imagine have a full face of the same color of bright matte pink. There might not be that UMPH you see in your typical editorials/makeup photos. By adding some highlights and other textures, it will give your eyes something to look at! Use shimmers that may have a similar color profile if you want a unified look. Other Products Used: WAYNE GOSS - The Weightless Veil Blush Palette 3CE - Velvet Lip Tint Happy Experimenting!
Skincare Trends of 2020: Yass 👍 or Pass 👎?
Skincare Trends of 2020: Yass 👍 or Pass 👎?
Hey there! There have been numerous skincare trends that have been going viral this year. Although just because it’s trendy, doesn’t mean it’s effective. ☆ ANTI-POLLUTION If you live in a city, you’re likely exposed to all types of pollution such as free radicals, UV exhaust fumes and even blue light screens are part of the problem (source: HuffPost). I live in San Francisco, CA and definitely deal with the issues mentioned above especially pre-covid. Studies have shown that those who live in larger cities age faster than their suburban counterparts and there is a correlation between air pollution and suffering from skin problems. DE’s D-bronzi and c-firma claim to fight against these issues. •C-Firma contains 15% l-absorbing acid and 1% Vitamin E which create a hardworking complex that help neutralize pollution and environmental stressors (source: byrdie). This product is one of my HG and I use this religiously. I have seen improvements regarding scars and hyperpigmentation and I think the anti-pollution effect is just a bonus •D-Bronzi contains raw cocoa powder which mimic the antioxidant benefits of vitamin D without the damaging effects of UV rays. I am not convinced this will do more than your typical tinted moisturizer with skincare ingredients. However I do love this product especially during the summer time. This also help me darken my foundation needed. • I love how my favorite skincare products contain anti-pollution protection, but I’m not convinced simply because there hasn’t been enough research. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy products specifically for anti-pollution purposes. ☆ANTI BLUE LIGHT •My tinted sunscreen from Elta MD contains ingredients that can potentially protect the skin from blue light damage. •I honestly don’t agree with the anti- blue light hype. Research show that dermatologists are not fully convinced that blue light protection products will do more than a mineral sunscreen with a strong dose of iron oxide. ☆ NIACINAMIDE + HYALURONIC ACID •Both of elta and supergoop sunscreens I own contain Niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. •HA has been proven to plump, moisturize the skin and niacinamide has a ton of benefits to the skin. It strengthens the skin’s barrier allowing it to hold moisture better for prolong hydration •I am on board with the HA and niacinamide trend. Research shows that both of these ingredients are beneficial to the skin. Long story short, I am not on board with anti-pollution and anti- blue light skincare products simply because not enough research has been done. However, skincare products that contain hyaluronic acid and niacinamide is a different story! I believe those two ingredients are definitely worth the hype! If you made it this far, congratulations because I know that was a lot. Thank you for reading :) Francesca 💋 #CheriePartner
