'70s Makeup Looks You'll Want to Try for a Groovy Time

The '70s are synonymous with iconic statement makeup looks. From the au natruale girl-next-door, the bright flower child, to the fabulous disco queens, the '70s embraced makeup trends that the world hadn't seen before.
We love the groovy vibes, the big eyelashes, and the bold choices women went for in the 1970s. Whether you're looking to give your current makeup routine a vintage overhaul, or need inspiration for your next costume party, these iconic '70s makeup looks scream retro.
1. Top and Bottom Mascara

By the '70s, the massive false lash craze of the '60s began to decline, but women still loved the look of bold, standout lashes. Women preferred bold lashes all around - especially on the bottom lash line. Going heavy-handed on the mascara gives a more natural version of statement falsies looks.
2. Sparkling Eyes

By the mid-'70s, disco fever had really taken off, and it brought a more dramatic makeup look with it! Shimmer eye shadows in bright hues of gold, silver, and blue were paired with glitter, black mascara, and eyeliner. This flashy look was perfect for grooving the night away at the local disco!
We love that glitter makeup is still trending in 2020. Should we say a little thank you to our dancing queens of the '70s?
3. Vibrant Blue Eyeshadow

Blue eyeshadow was a staple in many girl's makeup cases in the 1970s. They would sweep the blue shade over the entire eyelid and finish it off with mascara. For a while, blue shadows were a no-go, but they've made their way back into our makeup collections!
4. Sheer, Barely-There Lips

Coming off the coattails of the mod makeup of the '60s, the 1970s focused more on natural beauty. Women were all about giving themselves a glow from within with a light, sweep of pink or nude gloss on the lips. After all, with so many dramatic eye makeup looks, a sheer lip is like the cherry on top for any flower child's natural look.
5. '70s Inspired Bronzer

For girls going to a Led Zeppelin concert in the park, following Pink Floyd around the country, or catching a Fleetwood Mac show at the local blues bar, all had one thing in common. They all had one thing in common - they longed for tan, golden skin. Bronzer became all the rage in the 1970s. Much like we do today, women applied bronzer to the cheekbones, chin, jawline, and tip of the nose. Although, in the '70s, women would use powders that we're a few shades darker than their natural skin tone to achieve a sun-kissed glow.

Skincare Products ( that i have been LOVING )
Skincare Products ( that i have been LOVING )
Recently, I have been super into skincare and keeping up with my skin’s appearance as I am growing myself in the beauty industry ( meaning that I am now CONSTANTLY doing makeup on myself! ) Fluff and Starface both sent me these products to try out, and I have been LOVING them so far! I have combination skin, and this routine is PERFECT for me! My new three favorite skincare products that I have been enjoying as of lately are 1) FLUFF - Face Oil #1 , which is 100% jojoba oil, which I used as an all natural makeup remover! Jojoba oil is super moisturizing and amazing for literally all skin types- especially acne prone and sensitive skin! 2) FLUFF cleanser , which is again - all natural - containing jojoba oil, hemp seed oil (which moisturizes without clogging pores, and balances out oily skin), ashwagandha root (which stimulates production of natural skin oils), and aloe vera (which reduces blemishes and acne, as well as lightens blemishes on the face). This cleanser does a great job of removing makeup as well as leaving you skin moisturized and soft! 3) STARFACE Moisture on Mars Hydrating Face Cream! A little bit of this product really goes a long way, leaving your face super soft, hydrated, and all with a SERIOUS glow!!! I highly recommend checking these 3 products all out! They all work great separately, but in my opinion as I have been using them cohesively, my skin has been looking and feeling great ( besides that one pimple 🙄 ). xx Isabelle

Glass skin? Uhm YES!
Glass skin? Uhm YES!
This mist is so fun to use. You can use it with makeup or on its own! I tend to use it on bare skin for a natural glowing look. It is a fine mist that moisturizes, nourishes and helps fight damage. It also helps fight irritation and calm the skin. I will be posting a video a little later of me using this before makeup application! Makeup glides on after using this to prep the skin. What’s in it: peach extract Hyaluronic acid Reishi mushroom lotus extract cica ceramides much more! This product has so many awesome ingredients, it’s hard not to love! PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Veil Mist I will give this a 5/5! Pros: can be used to refresh makeup can be used on bare skin hydrating calming gives a wonderful dewy glow smells nice Cons: $30 for a mist is a bit pricey but this mist does so much in return 💞 let me know a mist you love!
Pull thru braid💗
Pull thru braid💗
I love creating any type of braid and this is one of my favorites! I think it’s because it is so easy but it looks so cute on everyone! You are going to start by putting your hair into a high ponytail and then complete the following steps: ✨ from your ponytail take a section of hair from the left side of the ponytail in the right side of the ponytail ✨ pull behind the ponytail in elastic it together ✨ take the section of hair that is not in the elastic Together and split into two and wrapped behind the ponytail and elastic that together ✨ repeat till you get to the bottom of your hair! I used AIIR - Texture Spray to add texture to the hair before I pulled it out for more volume Give us a try this holiday season! You will love it💗 Xo, Johanna
