For some, it’s quite peculiar to have a specific cream for the skin under eyes when you already use moisturizers and serums for your whole face. However, eye creams are part of the best skincare routines. Why is eye cream so important, and why you should not skip it? The skin around our eyes is thinner than other parts of our body, which makes it prone to faster aging. It’s so delicate that any signs of skin aging would be incredibly obvious in this area. That is why dermatologists suggest always including eye cream in your skincare routine. Here are some reasons you shouldn’t ignore that eye cream tub: This part of your face needs more tender loving care Because the skin under your eyes is delicate, they need extra TLC. Your eyes also get a bit of a workout throughout the day—you blink, squint, smile, cry, and wink. These movements aren’t so noticeable to you since they happen quite naturally. However, you’ll notice that all these movements have taken a toll on your under-eye area eventually. It’s always best to include an under-eye routine every night to help relax this area of your face. Aside from washing your face, it’s ideal to add an eye cream to your routine and an eye mask to keep it cool and fresh for the next day. The busier you are, the more love it needs An obvious sign of tired eyes is eye bags. The more overworked you get, the less rest you receive, so it’s taking a toll around the area of your eyes. Integrating an eye cream to your skincare routine can help reduce the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, dryness, and wrinkles due to stress and lack of sleep. Prevention is key When you look at yourself in the mirror and see that you don’t need an eye cream right now, you may be right, but you might start to see the changes soon. It’s better to prevent wrinkles, dark circles, dryness, and puffiness by starting to use eye creams now even way before you actually need them.It helps prep your skin for make-up You want to constantly protect this area of your face, especially when you apply make-up for the day. Because it’s so delicate, excessive use of strong products may aid in the deterioration of the skin around the area under your eyes. It is wise to apply an eye cream under your eyes before applying a foundation or concealer. The rubbing of sponges and brushes can also contribute to aging and wrinkles. Conclusion:More often than not, the first thing people notice in someone’s face is the eyes. It’s best to be mindful of the products you put on your face to make sure your skin remains glowing and vibrant. The skin under eyes is so delicate, so even if you do not see signs of aging yet, it’s still better to prevent these from happening by incorporating an eye cream to your daily skincare routine. pre + post Halloween-Makeup skincare routine
pre + post Halloween-Makeup skincare routine
Hi!! With halloween around the corner and face paints and heavy makeup inevitable, I wanted to share some products that I think would be helpful to making sure your skin stays safe and protected under makeup, and things to do post makeup to minimize irritation and acne. Besides your normal routine, here are some things you can add! Obviously I don’t suggest adding all these things in one day, but if you have some of these and you know they work for you, try it out! My skin type: sensitive, acne-prone, rosacea, combo My skin concern: redness, hyperpigmentation Pre Halloween Skincare: + FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask this is one of my favorite hydrating masks; it has a warming effect and it’s very healing. The antioxidants can protect from free radicals and provide a quick moisture barrier recovery. Use it very lightly and it washes off SO well. Smells a bit like honey. + FARMACY - Deep Sweep this toner is absolutely heavenly, it’s great for preparing your skin for incoming acne and clearing up oily skin and extra sebum. Not a lot of fragrance, which is great. This is perfect for halloween because salicylic acid is a bit photosensitive, but at night time there and under masks there is very little that could go wrong in that sense. + #Romer - Treatment[products]#[FourStars] this product is fairly new to me, but I am very excited about it. It’s a moisturizer/treatment combo, so you can leave it on or wash it off as a mask. I prefer to leave it on; it’s very soothing and rich, so it hydrates my skin so well. Smells very fresh and also a bit like fruit! It’s made with niacinamide and prickly pear, so it’s nourishing as well as a little clarifying. Post Halloween Skincare: + PLANT APOTHECARY - Not A Spot Acne Treatment Mask you know how you can FEEL acne coming after a long day of wearing makeup or sweating or whatever? This mask is perfect for it! I usually use this as a spot treatment unless my skin is really bad - it can be drying on normal or dry skin. If you’re oily or combo, just use sparingly. It’s a powder so you have to follow the directions and mix it with water (or your favorite serum or essence or toner), I usually just do water, and then it’s like a paste! Not much of a smell, but I do like the gentleness of it. + SNP - Cicaronic Sheet Mask after acne masks or clay masks, I like to follow up with a hydrating sheet mask to soothe and calm my skin. This one is perfect - made with centella asiatica aka cica - and the sheet mask actually fits my face for the first time ever! This will add some hydration back into your skin post acne/clay mask and prep for the rest of your routine. Smells like fresh cut grass!
Mermaid Polish🧜‍♀️ Same Brand Dupe?
Mermaid Polish🧜‍♀️ Same Brand Dupe?
Sally Hansen - Color Therapy Nail Polish Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri X Jelly Belly Nail Polish Similarities: - Both are from Sally Hansen which is famous for their polishes and nail products - Both have two-color tones - Both have blue base Differences - Sally Hansen Salon Manicure has 14.7ml (0.5 oz) comparing to Sally Hansen insta-dry Matte 9.17 ml (0.3 oz) - Salon Manicure is $15 CAD vs Insta-dry Matte $8 CAD (almost double the other) - The Salon Manicure does appear to be more hollow, when actually apply it, you can tell that this one is super jampacked with holo pigment - After two layers, the salon manicure series is perfect set and ready to finish ( actually one layer is good enough, if you do want extra hallow pigment, you can go with a second layer) but the insta-dry matte series, it is not as clear as the other, and you actually need a third layer to get the perfect finish. - The formula is thicker in Salon Manicure, but the consistency is very good and fluid. And it doesnt dragging the brush. It floats super nicely across the nail. - My opinion - I personally really love the Salon Manicure. Although both polish are from Sally Hansen, this one definitely wins over the other in every area. I love the fact that you can see the formula is a two-toned color, you can actually see the color shifting when turning it into different angles. And it appears the same on your nails. It has a perfect combination of blue and purple with purple pearl shimmer to keep the nail going strong.
NEW 🚨 Anti-Irritation CBD Lip Balm 🍃
NEW 🚨 Anti-Irritation CBD Lip Balm 🍃
Kosas partnered with a brand called Flora + Bast, which sources pure, unprocessed CBD products for skincare and wellness. Together, they made this lip balm. It gives you a lot of ingredients for the cost, and is great for dry, acne-prone skin. I would recommend it the most for people who do sports, or in Fall/Winter weather. 🌿 INGREDIENT BREAKDOWN 🌿 MAIN : Full Spectrum Cannabis Extract 50 mg Full Spectrum cannabis is the unprocessed version of CBD. It keeps all it’s aspects and nutrients, including THC (but less than 0.03%, so it won’t make you high). Research shows that CBD reduces sebum production and soothes irritation- making it ideal to control acne and redness. Our bodies naturally produce a cannabinoid called anandamide- without it, you have dry, irritated skin. CBD naturally helps replenish that. 50mg is potent for a lip balm. Some balms have 10 mg, so this is definitely not cheating you on ingredients. For other parts of your skin, CBD recommendations can go as high as 350 mg to treat pain. So 50 mg is a good range for the thin, sensitive skin on your lips. Hyalauronic Acid A natural limp plumper that’s naturally derived from sugar- So it’s super unlikely to cause a reaction. We have HA naturally in our connective tissue. It keeps us lubricated, and it can bind ~1000 times its weight in water. What this means for your lips is that it’ll hold onto hydration, making them look plumper. Konjac Root This pairs perfectly with HA. It has glucomannan, which holds ~50 times its weight in water. It’s turns the balm texture into a gel, and is antimicrobial. Together with HA, they have a plumping, anti-wrinkling effect. Extra Ingredients Boy this little balm is packed! Here’s just a few more moisturizers it contains: castor seed oil, jojoba esters , grape seed oil, avocado oil, mango seed butter, rice bran extract, etc. 💕 APPLICATION 💕 My lips are prone to flaking because of harsh acne medication. They also get easily red and irritated. This balm is advertised as creamy and soothing. When I apply it, it goes on thick- but doesn’t look thick. It has a natural-ish finish that leans glossy. It feels perfect for winter because it’s so creamy. And it feels a little minty- Which I found really relaxing. The product didn’t just sit on my lips- After hours, it felt like it had absorbed its moisture. The texture reminds me of theNeutrogena - Lip Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 15 ($2.99 for 0.15 oz). But that product has a much shorter ingredient, with castor oil as its main moisturizer. Kosas product ($20 for 0.17) is priced higher, but it’s worth it for all the extra ingredients you get. If you have sensitive lip concerns, this product is worth checking out. Its slim packaging makes it easy to slip into your bag, and it’ll keep chapping under control.
COLLAGEN— THE SECRET TO WRINKLE-FREE SKIN?!
COLLAGEN— THE SECRET TO WRINKLE-FREE SKIN?!
I’ve always heard/been told that once you hit 25 you need to start incorporating collagen into your daily routine. Our bodies natural collagen production begins to decline and adding it or collage- boosting products can help to keep plump, wrinkle-free skin. I am under 25 but that doesn’t mean that I can't still benefit from collagen products.  Collagen What is it:  Collagen is a protein found in your body that provides it’s structure including the skin, hair and nails.  Collagen decline: Many factors decline collagen production including: •age (typically after 25) •sugar/refined carbs •excess sun exposure •smoking How to boost collagen production: Fortunately there are many ways to boost collagen production. Including foods, supplements, and skin care. This can either be incorporated directly from the source (collagen) or by the collagen-boosting foods. Collagen foods: •bone broth •egg whites •fish •lean meat •spirulina Collagen-boosting foods: •vitamin C; such as citrus fruits, broccoli  •zinc; such as certain cereals, breads •manganese; such as leafy green vegetables and teas •copper; such as nuts and shellfish Supplemnets: Supplements are an easy way to incorporate collagen into the body. They can be incorporated into foods or drinks making it practical for everyday use. Some forms of supplements include: •gelatin •collagen pills •collagen peptide/protein powders •marine collagen Skincare: If you are using a skincare product this claims to have pure collagen in it, it may not be as beneficial as you’d like it to be. That is because collagen in it’s pure form may be to hard to penetrate through the skin and will leave you with no benefits. When choosing skincare products for collagen, its best to chose products that claim to boost collagen production. These products will contain ingredients mentioned above such as vitamin-c and even retinols.  A product that I use that boosts collagen production with the help of active marine plant extracts is:  ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream — $128 Key Ingredients: •Padina Pavonica: A unique Mediterranean algae with proven outstanding anti-aging benefits (aids in the production of collagen) •Mimosa: An anti-inflammatory, toning and astringent. It has a pleasing, delicate aroma •Rose: A natural fragrance component with nurturing and calming properties -Ulta.com What is it: Hydrating, wrinkle cream that helps firm the skin. How I use: This cream is intended for day use but I find it way to thick to use during the day. I like to use this cream at night as a moisturizer to seal in all of my other creams and serums. I apply all over my face and neck.  Results/Recommendations: Like previously stated, this cream is very thick. I’m prefer lightweight creams over thicker ones. This cream is not irritating and did not cause any side affects for my sensitive skin. However I did not see any dramatic differences for the amount of money the product cost. I feel as if other products work better but I do like that it aids in collagen production. I personally would not repurchase.  If you are worried about wrinkles or are interested in living a healthier lifestyle, I would recommend for you to think about incorporating ways to boost your collagen production. This can either be through quitting bad habits such as smoking, making better food choices, or incorporating collagen supplements/skincare into your daily routine. Lastly, if you are a vegetarian, etc. it is good to know that there are plenty of plant-based options available.  #CheriePartner

Continuing the ACNH series, today I bring you Pietro ❤️ my favorite sheep villager and overall best boy. Products used: ⭐️ Complexion products: •e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer •DIOR - Forever Skin Correct Concealer •essence - All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder ⭐️ For the teardrop, heart & nose: •Transcend Dance from COLOURPOP - In a Trance Shadow Palette •My Milkshake from COLOURPOP - Strawberry shake shadow palette •Daiquiri from the same palette as above. ⭐️ Highlighter (for the tip of the nose): •OFRA - Limited Edition Rodeo Drive Highlighter Ornament ⭐️ Brows: • ohii - Magic Hair Wand ⭐️ Lips: •The now discontinued NYX Whipped Lip & Cheek Soufflé in Molten Love 💋 ⭐️ Lashes: •I just went to my nearest beauty supply and picked the most dramatic lashes I could find! Brand is Cherry Blossom, they’re their 3D SILK LASH, style #003 For this look I did my face makeup as usual, just some light concealing, just powdering with a matte powder. I like to keep my brows sheer and fluffy when doing villager makeup lol 😅 I tried drawing the teardrop and heart on my cheeks freehanded but ya girl is not talented like that, so I decided to do cutouts of both and stick them to my face using washi tape so it’s easy to remove and won’t tug on my skin, then I just filled them in using the shadows I mentioned above from Colourpop. For my nose I used Daiquiri from the Strawberry Shake palette, which is perfect for this since it’s a pigment and you just need the tiniest bit! Then I added some highlighter just on the tip to make it pop 😋 For some reason NYX always discontinues the products I really like, so I can’t tag the exact product I used since you won’t be able to find it but honestly any red lipstick or cream you have will do the trick! Whenever I’m doing extra af makeup I like to wear extra af, dramatic lashes like these 😌 lashes always make the look in my opinion! These from Cherry Blossom are so soft, I wish the band wasn’t as obvious but the more you use them, the easier it is to apply them! And that’s it! Surprisingly, this look didn’t take as long as I thought it would but it is still cute and festive 🤡 Which villager should I do next? I already have some on my list, but I’d love to hear your favorites! 💗 #cheriepartner #cheriecreator
