But, it's undeniable that different colors cater to different skin tones! With that in mind, I've compiled some great polish colors for every skin tone.Fair The best nail polish colors for fair skin tones definitely vary, but they tend to have cool tones and stay on the lighter end of the color spectrum, like light blues, purples, pinks, and nudes. However, for deeper shades, fair toned people can opt for deep blues and reds.

I have recently fell in love with nail polish and nail care! I look forward to doing my nails every week. I was a nail biter all my life until this year. I am always focused on strengthening my nails. I’ve been loving Essie’s gel couture line! This nail look is a shimmery champagne color—“Last Nightie” First I always start by doing my cuticles. I never realized how important taking care of your cuticles is and the benefit it does to your overall nail health. I remove my cuticles/push them back once a week using #Blue Cross - Cuticle Remover This makes removing the cuticles SO easy. Within a few seconds they basically soften up/dissolve so they are easily pushed around the sides of the nail and top of the nail. I use a metal cuticle pusher but I make sure to be extremely gentle when using this! (I got mine from amazon) but this is basically the same thing! #ULTA BEAUTY - Cuticle Pusher Next, I file my nails to create a shape I want, then I wash my hands. Finally I use #Gold Bond - Hand Cream and #PEACH & LILY - Pure Beam Luxe Oil before painting my nails. Now I apply my base coat and recently I’ve been using #Pink Armor - Nail Gel I got mine from amazon. It basically acts as a strengthening bond on your nails. This may not be the best option for nail health, but like I have stated. I needed all the help I could get since my nails were SO flimsy and thin at first. I do think this stuff has helped significantly! Finally, I apply 2-3 coats of my polish and apply my gel couture top coat! This polish line is SO good. Happy nail care 💅

Don’t know what jelly nails are? They certainly aren’t a new concept, but they’re definitely making a comeback. Have you ever seen nail polish that has a slight color to it, but is still clear and you can see your nail underneath? Those are jelly nails, sometimes called glass nails.   If you’re looking for something new to do with your nails but don't want to go all out with a design or funky color, jelly nails are great. My favorite jelly nail look is a translucent pink. It looks like a more enhanced color of the natural nail bed and looks very classy.   How to get jelly nails: there are plenty of options to get the jelly nail effect. You can find jelly colors at the drugstore in normal nail polish. You want to look for colors that are translucent, not opaque.   If you prefer to get gel polish done, then you’re in luck, because there are TONS of jelly colors in a gel formula! Jelly gel nail polish often comes in many different colors, too   You can also find acrylic and SNS powders that are translucent with a tint, creating a jelly effect.   Another way to do jelly nails is with press or glue on nails that you can get at the store. The brand KISS has several different jelly nails in different lengths. They are SO easy and give you salon quality nails for half the price and you can do them at home! A lot of the press or glue on jelly nails come with cute accent nails with rhinestones or designs, too!     How to do jelly nails at home: one you have your own jelly nail polish, it’s so easy to do them. Orly’s French Manicure Bare Rose is the perfect pink jelly shade. You can find Orly at Ulta or Sally’s. Use 2-3 coats depending on how deep you want the pink to be, and use a top coat, and you're done! The best thing about jelly colors is since they’re translucent, the cleanup is so easy and it’s easier to hide any mistakes.
LightLight skin tones, much like fair skin tones, look great with light blues, purples, and pinks. Fair skin tones also look great with warm glittery polish and more peachy nudes. For some darker polish, someone with light skin can opt for deep reds and greens.

Hello lovies! I am back with another nail polish review because I want to share with y’all my honest feedback on this #Essie - Mint Candy Apple! Let’s begin with the fact that the first time I came across this specific shade was YEARS ago! I have a spot in my town with a massive Essie collection and this color spoke to me. I ended up moving two years ago and misplaced tons of my nail polish collection 😕. Then, last year I had my grad school graduation where my department color was teal! So I bought Bikini So Teeny (review done as well) and it was fantastic, which then lead me to buy another Essie color... Mint Candy Apple! It’s been a year since I’ve had this baby in my collection and it’s still going strong! This Essie product retails for $8.99. Its a light pea minty green shade that would look fantastic on all skin tones 👏🏼! The texture of the color is light but very easy to build up to get a full coverage nail. I usually do 2-3 coats of nail polish before applying a top coat. I’ve never had a problem with an Essie brand nail polish brush and that makes for a nice smooth application 💅🏼. The amazing thing about Essie is that they have such a vast collection of various shades. You’ll find the shade you want - I can guarantee that for sure! I think it’s super easy to apply because the nail polish consistency isn’t too watery and it gives you the perfect consistency from bottle to nail. I’ve come across nail polished that are so watery they fall off the brush before I make it to my nail. It’s definitely not a sheer color and the color pay off is 100% amazing. It also has a shiny glossy finish to it where you could leave it just like that or use a top coat for extra shine. The brush is perfect in that additionally it does not leave streaks on the nail. When I apply a top coat on all 10 fingers, I go back and apply a second coat. I wait 10 mins and apply a third coat for extra coverage! And then 15 mins after that I apply a clear shiny top coat! I’m usually not in a hurry so I take my time to let them dry and haven’t done those neat ice cold water tricks! When I do my nails I watch an hour long show on my iPad and by the time the show is done so are my nails 👏🏼. Essie claims that this is a chip resistant formula and for the most part like 90% I agree with that statement. I usually find one or two nails with chips on them but it’s also the fingers I use for opening mail, picking off stickers, etc so I don’t blame the nail polish - it’s me hahaha! When I apply the nail polish I say it can last from 7-10 days before I see it looking off and no longer perfect! Since I am home now all the time I find myself constantly changing my nail color after 10 days and this shade is among my top three nail polish colors! This is a top notch nail polish color and I 100% recommend it to all of my friends and family! 👍🏼

MediumMedium skin tones look great with bright colors, light browns, and anything warm. For a classic red, people with medium skin tones should opt for a red with an orange tint that will bring out the warmth in medium skin.

TanFor tan tones, mustard yellows, burnt oranges, and browns look amazing on tan toned skin! Tanned skin also looks good with neons and other bright colors. For a red, a classic cherry red polish complements tan skin very well.

DeepLight blues, yellows, white, and creams look incredible paired with deep skin tones. Deep skin also looks great with bright colors and pastels. For a red, you can look for a classic cherry red, or a deeper maroon!

Skin positivity is a lifelong struggle amiright?
Skin positivity is a lifelong struggle amiright?
I told myself I was going to take a selfie to post. One selfie. Not 50 so I could get the best one. Make-up free. No filters. No edits. Unwashed hair. Here it is. When I look at this a whole dialogue fills my mind “wow, you need sleep”, “maybe you should be better about taking your medicine”, “those rashes really messed up your face”, “good lord girl drink some water once in awhile”, “good thing you laid out covered in baby oil all those years!”, “maybe it’s time for a brow appointment” and on and on and on. That’s what we all see when we look at photos of ourselves right? The bad. But, it’s also “I look ok for 43. For keeping 3 kids alive for more than 18 years. For having an immune disease that more than likely will ruin my skin and my face in the next 5-10 years. For neglecting my skin for the better part of 30 years.” We all have a story. And our faces, our skin can reflect that. But most of the time you are the only one who can see it because you’re the only one who knows the whole story. To everyone else you look beautiful. Acne, spots, wrinkles, scars. It’s all part of your story. These “flaws” I see are all part of MY story. 💙
BEST mascara for straight lashes 🤩💕
BEST mascara for straight lashes 🤩💕
I have straight, thin, long Asian lashes that need volume + curl + length, so it’s pretty much impossible for me to find a mascara that I like. I use a Shu Uemura or Kevyn Aucoin lash curler to curl my lashes first - these two lash curlers have been the best performing for me, since they fit Asian eyelids pretty well! L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara - this mascara is supposed to be a dupe for TF Better Than Sex Mascara, and I actually like it better! I’ve used both the waterproof and the regular one, and it’s kept my straight lashes curled. I like drier formulas, and this is definitely one of those - no flaking and curl is held all day, BUT it does get a bit clumpy. if you’re into clumpy lashes (I am, honestly), you might like this one because it does build volume and length. benefit - Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara - this is probably my favorite high end mascara because it actually lengthens, volumizes, and retains my curl. I usually don’t believe that high end mascara is worth it, but I would repurchase this one if I was splurging on myself! benefit - They're Real! Mascara - this is a very ordinary mascara and performs really closely to the original L’Oreal Voluminous line, in my opinion. nothing to write home about - didn’t hold up my curl, no significant length or volume. Heroine Mascara - this mascara is INTENSE. it holds my curl super well and gives me some length and volume, but is IMPOSSIBLE to take off. it took about ~3 days for me to completely clean this mascara off with oil-based remover, so if you have really straight and thin lashes, this may be a great option, but do note it’s difficult to remove. Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara - I actually despise this mascara because it’s super wet, then gets super dry in the tube really quickly. this is one of the few mascaras that flaked on me, didn’t hold a curl, and just didn’t look good immediately after application. I got a free one and wouldn’t repurchase. L'ORÉAL - Telescopic Waterproof Mascara - my holy grail since middle school! I use the waterproof one and it holds my curl, lengthens, and volumizes (with extra coats) better than any other mascara has. every time I stray from this mascara, I find myself coming back because it’s just that good. I find it’s the right wet/dry ratio that I love. would totally recommend this for all lash types, whether you have straight, curled, thick, thin, or short lashes! overall, my top two picks would be the L’Oreal telescopic mascara and the L’Oreal lash paradise. I wouldn’t spend too much money on mascara and would instead invest in a great eyelash curler, since they can last you for years. drugstore products are always my favorite, so if you have any recs I’d love to hear them!

This is the GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm and I really, really love it-and I’ll tell you why! ✨Claims via Glow Recipe✨ “Reveal smooth, glowing skin... and effortlessly dissolve makeup, dirt, and oil with the PEG-free Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm....The mix of exfoliating and calming papaya seed oil, papaya enzymes, papaya extract, and antioxidant-packed blueberry, leaves skin clean, bouncy, and glowing.” ✨My experience✨ So this is only the 3rd actual cleansing balm I’ve tried, and it’s my favorite so far. The oil in mine did not come super solidified, it was more of a super thick but creamy balm (as the texture shows. With other balms I tend to get chunks of oil that take forever to melt down and I loved that this product is so smooth and creamy that it instantaneously melted into my hands and on my face. Though I have been told by others that their texture was not like mine with the same product, so there may be some batches that are better than others? For those of you who have tried this out, what was the texture for you guys? A little does go a long way but I like to use big fat globs of this it feels like silk on my skin! 💦It doesn’t irritate my eyes AT ALL! Of course if oil does get in my eye my vision gets blurry but all oils do that and I did not experience any pain with it💦 👩‍🔬Ingredients- because bitch they don’t lie👩‍🔬 Papaya enzymes ~ enzymes are chemicals that speed up the rate of chemical reactions without being consumed by the reaction itself. So this helps our skins biological processes that normally require dangerously high body temperatures / energy, able to occur at normal temperatures. They exfoliate by breaking down the keratin protein that makes up our dead skin cells on the uppermost skin layer. Enzymes can also be anti-inflammatory + protect our skin from oxidative damage from sun and environmental pollutants. I love that I can use this for a way gentle exfoliation every day! This comes 8th in the ingredient list so I appreciate that glow recipe actually included a significant amount of the fruit enzymes that it advertises. Papaya Extract + Seed Oil ~ rich in fatty acids (oleic and linoleic) as well as vitamins A, C + E to nourish skin Blueberry Extract ~ rich in antioxidants that can help fight free radicals damage, soothe + brighten skin Camellia Japonica Seed Oil ~ a lightweight, moisturising oil rich in Oleic Acid plus vitamins A, D, + E Apricot Kernel Oil ~ high in fatty acids + vitamin E to all you fragrance haters out there- this one is FRAGRANCE FREE but still smells like fruity + delicious 🌍Sustainability🌍 This product does contain polyethylene. There is a lot of buzz hating on that ingredient due to harming the ocean. Now, I’m not completely sure if liquid cosmetic grade polyethylene is harmful the way consumable household plastics are. Anyone let me know if you do! Glow recipe does make that distinguishment. XOXOGLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm
