Raise your hand if you've been looking at throwback travel pictures a little bit more than usual this summer. Raise your hand if you're planning trips to literally everywhere in the world just to feel the rush again. Is that last one too dramatic? Oh well, the point is I MISS TRAVELLING. I'm happy to pause jetsetting for the sake of stopping this pandemic, but it doesn't mean we still can't miss the things that have brought us joy! Some things that really remind me of my travels are pictures, food, and scents. While reminiscing on old photos and ordering takeout that reminds me of my favorite trips always bring me a surge of joy, there's something about particular scents that REALLY transport me to other places of the world. I know I'm not alone on this, because scent has actually been proven to have the most powerful link, out of all the senses, to memory and emotion. So, my summer 2020 solution to not traveling? Gorgeously scented body wash and moisture duos that seriously make you feel like you're thousands of miles away. Jordan Samuel Skin's Italian Collection Body Scrub & Body OilJordan Samuel Skin's Olio per Il Corpo Body Oil and Granita di Cafe Body Scrub is instantly transportive in the name alone. Let's start with the body scrub—this coffee scrub is the most delectable body scrub I have EVER tried. While I use it, I can't help but sniff the jar the entire time I'm exfoliating. The coffee scent is wrapped in a sweetness that makes me literally want to eat this scrub. The minute I open the jar, I'm reminded of my solo trip to Florence, sipping a little espresso in front of my hotel, admiring the buildings. This scrub is highly moisturizing, and the only downside it has is that the formula is thick and struggles to wash off, so I'm usually left with a film of what feels like body butter. Luckily, I can just rub that into my skin! Then there is the body oil which has a crisp citrus scent and instantly brings me to the hillsides of Cinque Terre drinking limoncello by the water. Wow, this scent is gorgeous! Plus the oil is based in olive and grape seed, making this body oil ultra-nourishing.

Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Shower Gel & CreamA fan favorite, Sol de Janeiro's signature CHEIROSA '62 scent is recognized by almost any beauty lover. It's so popular that the brand even sells a candle for this scent! This warm, comforting scent has hints of caramel and pistachio, and when I put it on, I'm transported to one of my favorite trips to Turks & Caicos. This scent just screams sun-on-skin and sand-in-toes, but for me personally, I first used this duo while vacationing in Turks, making this olfactory experience THAT much more potent. The products themselves in this duo also make your skin infamously soft. So soft you could be a cloud. The wash has a thick texture that feels like it's still cleansing your skin while leaving it nice and supple. And the cream??? Do I need to say anything? You've probably tried it. But if you haven't WHEWWW the way it absorbs into your skin leaving a light sheen and has you smelling like a whole snack? 10/10!Skylar's Meadow Body Bundle If you're a fan of clean beauty, consider Skylar for all your scent needs. This clean perfume brand has made a lot of allergy-prone people, like myself, rejoice with their hypoallergenic perfumes that don't compromise quality or scent. While perfume is Skylar's main attraction, you can find beautifully scented body washes, lotions, and even hand sanitizers! I love their Meadow shower gel and lotion for it's rose-y scent that takes me back to Morocco. While this floral scent is named after a meadow, it reminds me of perusing a souk, entering an apothecary, and finding shelves filled with variations of beauty products centered around rosewater.

The best sunscreen for dry skin☀️
The best sunscreen for dry skin☀️
Y’all… Let me tell you how dry my skin gets. My skin gets so dry that it looks like my skin is actually flaking. I have struggled with dry skin my entire life and I hardly find any products that truly help my skin. I reached out to a friend who gave me a skin care routine and she suggested this sunscreen PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ it is honestly the best! Not only is it scent free but it hydrates my skin without burning it. I have high sensitivity to a lot of products and this is one that doesn’t make my skin irritated or break out. If you struggle with dry skin, try out this sunscreen! Not only does it help with the dryness but also you should always be protecting your face with sunscreen!!!
DON’T try these at home!

With so many self- proclaimed beauty gurus in the world today, it’s very easy to get sucked into the DIY trend. Most experts and skincare specialists will tell you these homemade concoctions are not as good as they are made to be. Here are 5 ingredients you should not put on your face and why. 1. Essential Oils- The fragrant portion of plants is what makes essential oils. Modern science has revealed how fragrant oils cause problems for the skin. In the long run components in essential oils can significantly irritate and damage the skin. 2. Lemon Juice 🍋- Lemons are extremely acidic, which will irritate your skin. You can experience excessive redness, dryness, and skin peeling. Using lemons on your skin can cause more damage then benefit to your skin. 3. Coconut Oil- This ingredient causes a lot of debate amongst my followers, but fact is a fact, coconut oil is highly comedogenic. This means that the oil clogs pores on your face. When you apply coconut oil to your face it lays on the surface and is not able to be absorbed into the skin due to its large molecules. It can cause breakouts, blackheads, and whiteheads. 4. Witch Hazel- Here is another debate stirring ingredient. A lot of my patients and followers swear by witch hazel because of its immediate results on absorbing oil on the skin. What they fail to understand that it is not only absorbing the excess oils, but it is also stripping your skin of its natural oils. This can be very damaging to your skin and it’s natural protecting barrier, causing unnatural sensitized and dry skin. 5. Toothpaste- Such a popular trend and so harmful to your skin. Toothpaste contains high levels of baking soda which will mess with your skin’s ph level. This can lead to redness and burning of the skin. Toothpaste is a horrible option for your blemishes and instead I would recommend THE inkey LIST - Succinic Acid Acne Treatment As tempting as it is to try natural remedies at home, do your skin a favor and resort to stabilized and researched ingredients and products.

since COVID has started, I know many people are on new (or refining old) skincare journeys and I’ve recently been experiencing some dryness/dehydrating as the winter rolls around, which also aggravates my already oily skin. I’ve worked in the beauty industry for a while and also was formerly an esthetician, so I can get picky with skincare and ingredients. ‼️for reference, my skin type is: combo (oily/dehydrated), formerly acneic, hyperpigmentation prone, and sensitive 🔬I’ve used Dr. Jart in the past and love that it’s a Korean, science-backed brand so I was stoked to try this Porecting Solution Mask! this mask promises fresh, clear glowing skin that deeply cleanses and purifies pores. the mask contains charcoal and saponine, which creates the bubbling effect you see in the above photo. this product does not contain sulfates, paragons, are phthalates. 🛁when I first took it out of its package, I thought there were *two* masks per package instead of one, but if you read the instructions, there’s actually a “mask film” on the actual mask itself that you’re supposed to remove, so make sure to do that! the actual mask is thick and full of product while the mask film is thinner and lighter in color. the directions also give you a tip to massage the mask to release the bubbling/foaming effect - I did this mask with my mom at the same time in separate rooms and she totally didn’t read the instructions so her mask didn’t bubble at all, so I would suggest to definitely massage the mask. 💬I left it on for 20 minutes and it continued to bubble about 5-10 minutes in, then stopped bubbling. you can hear the bubbles pop as the mask sits on your face, which is kinda weird but cool. the mask didn’t slip off AT ALL which is also a huge, even when I put a sweatshirt on over my head. after taking it off, the serum took about another 10 minutes to soak into my skin and my face felt super smooth and my pores looked tighter and more clean. I have a few sebaceous filaments on my nose that I sometimes pick at and as I was rubbing the serum into my skin, I saw that some of the sebaceous filaments on my nose were sloughing off (which is gross, but speaks to how well the product worked)! overall, I would definitely recommend and use this again! if you have oily skin or otherwise clogged pores, sebaceous filaments, blackheads, etc. I would suggest this for you. even if you have dry/normal skin, this would be a good option since my skin didn’t feel dried out at all afterward, even in my dry spell now, and felt rather hydrated and plump. five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I did a little video with some of my favorite reds a little while ago, but I feel like NYX - Intense Butter Gloss in Apple Crisp deserves its own post! It's glossy, pigmented, AND affordable... we love to see it! 🙌🏾
