Cherie Skin Report: A Personalized Skin Scanner That Treats Your Individual ConcernsWhy your unique skin treatment starts with your own signature assessment, by Cherie’s in-house Master Esthetician
Too many times I am left wondering why my clients walk through the spa door in such a skin rut. They are overwhelmed by products on the market, and constantly pushed to try new releases, even when the product may not be right for their skin type! Individual assessment of one’s skin starts in my treatment chair. I take the time to look through the skin on their forehead, cheeks, chin, nose, and neck, to help determine their skin type. Without this personal assessment, it’s no wonder they’re constantly trying out new products – without one’s professional input of looking at your skin, how can you really know your skin type? I see dehydrated skin types over-exfoliated, I see oily skin types dehydrating their skin. As much as I am thrilled that they come in to get professional help, I can’t help but feel saddened to know that they can’t access a program to be able to address their skin concerns when needed. This is where Cherie comes in! At first I was skeptical – an app that can actually address my clients’ concerns just by taking a photo? But with the technological advances of smartphones today, plus Cherie’s exclusive skin scanning system, even I found myself blown away by the accuracy it provides to help my client’s (and myself!) truly discover their authentic skin type. First, let’s break down the types of skin: • Oily – oily skin types produce more sebum, and generally have larger pores – which may actually reduce wrinkles and fine lines long term! • Dry – not to be confused with dehydrated skin types, those with drier skin tend to produce less sebum, but generally have more clear complexions • Dehydrated – dehydrated skin is usually indicative of a loss of moisture, which is why ingredients like hyaluronic acid are important! Dehydrated skin often gets confused with dry skin, and while some can be both, even an oily skin type can have dehydrated skin! • Combination – oily in your T-zone but dry in the U-zone? Combination skin types benefit best from a personalized skin scan, and the majority of people have combination skin • Sensitive – prone to redness, easily irritated, sunburn easily… sound familiar? Sensitive skin types require the utmost attention and correct products to ensure they don’t damage their delicate skin Now on top of your unique skin type, there are also skin issues! Just because you have a certain skin type, doesn’t mean you won’t potential suffer from a myriad of different issues! This can include: • Acne • Dark circles • Dark spots • Dullness • Loose skin • Puffiness • Fine lines • Wrinkles • And more! Another aspect that can affect your skin? Your natural skin tone! You were genetically predetermined to have your own unique and beautiful tone, which can also be determines in your personal skin scan. Just another helpful addition in the appropriate product choices specific to you. So, how do I figure out my skin type, tone, and issues? Super simple – just download the app! Once downloaded Cherie takes you through a few easy steps to accurately scan your skin to determine your skin type, and address your issues. After that, the freedom of knowing what products can benefit you in the short (and long) term can help you feel fresher, reduce breakouts, help reduce fine lines & wrinkles, and assist you in making sure you are investing in products that are specific to YOU!The benefits don’t stop there… Cherie can then link you to brands you might love, and other skin care lovers who are looking to brighten and benefit from a more personalized skin care system. Connect to a community to help you feel more beautiful in the skin you’re in.

Tips from a dermatologist on sunscreen ☀️
Let’s talk about sunscreen ☀️ What’s a good sunscreen to wear? One that is: * Broad-spectrum protection (protects against UVA and UVB rays) * SPF 30 or higher * Water resistant This will help protect your skin from early skin aging, sunburn, and skin cancer. What is the difference between chemical and physical sunscreens? Chemical sunscreens work like a sponge, absorbing the sun’s rays. They contain one or more of the following ingredients: oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, and octinoxate. These are often easier to rub into the skin without a white cast. Physical sunscreens (aka mineral sunscreens) act like a shield, sitting on the surface of your skin and deflecting the sun’s rays. These can come on white. They have the active ingredients zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide Reapply every 2 hours when outside in the sun ☀️ Some of my favorites: Tinted: Cerave tinted, la roche posay tinted, alastin CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 ALASTIN SKINCARE - HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36 Not tinted: colorescience, drunk elephant colorescience - Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50 Sunscreen DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 What’s your favorite sunscreen?
Glass skin? Uhm YES!
This mist is so fun to use. You can use it with makeup or on its own! I tend to use it on bare skin for a natural glowing look. It is a fine mist that moisturizes, nourishes and helps fight damage. It also helps fight irritation and calm the skin. I will be posting a video a little later of me using this before makeup application! Makeup glides on after using this to prep the skin. What’s in it: peach extract Hyaluronic acid Reishi mushroom lotus extract cica ceramides much more! This product has so many awesome ingredients, it’s hard not to love! PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Veil Mist I will give this a 5/5! Pros: can be used to refresh makeup can be used on bare skin hydrating calming gives a wonderful dewy glow smells nice Cons: $30 for a mist is a bit pricey but this mist does so much in return 💞 let me know a mist you love!
Let’s learn a no heat style! Start by gathering your hair to one side Begin a rope braid in the front by twisting two pieces. Add hair to each section and twist again. Continue this pattern until you reach your ear. Split the remaining hair into two. While holding the section pop index finger and thumb through. Grab through the other section and repeat! Secure with an elastic. Xo
