So whether you're into an understated butterfly clip duo or a full-on headscarf, these Cherie posts are sure to inspire your next big hair moment!
I recently cut half my hair off 😅, so I'm learning different styles I can do for my new length! this is my newest obsessions! flipped out sleek with a side part + barrette! 1. I always start any heat styling with a serum. I've been loving which I customized to my hair needs! it's so silky and I feel like it cuts down ing time, too! 2. next, I blow my hair with my mini er from the amika set> this tiny er actually replaced my full sized one. it's SO powerful. even my super thick hair dries so easily and quickly with this little one. 3. using a straightener, I simply flip the ends out. the nice thing about this style is you don't have to run your straightener through all your hair, just the bottom parts! 4. I love using my barrettes on the sides, either on the heavier part, or the smaller. depends on the look you're going for! one day I may get bold and put one on each side! lol. no promises. that's it! this style is actually really easy, it took me like 20 minutes, but I love how polished and fancy it makes me look. have you tried this style? do you want to? lmk!
4B Thick Curls I have been natural for about a decade and through my journey discovered the world of head wraps! Now you know when you get to like fifth day hair it’s time to do some quick maneuvering until wash day. This is a super easy cute style that’s my go to when I’m holding on lol 🌀All you need is: - A scrunchie - Some edge control - A headscarf I start off with already 5th day detangled hair, laid edges and my bangs in two strand twists from a previous style. I lay my edges and throw my hair up in a secure bun. The bun is important because it’s gonna be the foundation for the head wrap. I take the headwrap and fold it in a triangle and place it on my head and pull down the top part so that its covering most of my hair except the bangs. I then take the ends of the headwrap and twist them around the bun and tuck the ends. The front part I tuck under the front part of the headwrap. After that I gently separate the twists as to not cause frizz and now you have a cute defined curly bang. Using Edgebooster and I got the edge scarf and head wrap from LUSH. They were used to wrap gifts my mom gave me but now they’re really cute and fun head wraps! I get most of my headwraps as gifts or from The Wrap Life, Lush or I go to Joanns and pick fabric and just have them cut it! If having more specific tutorials on how to wrap head scarves is something you guys are interested in let me know below! #STYLE FACTOR - Edge Booster Strong Hold Styling Gel Keeps edges laid and slayed
How cute are these Bobby pins?? I waved my hair with #Insert name here - The Waver which they just came out with! Great result, but the ergonomics on its is a bit tough. Love this fun little hairstyle and the clips just make it that much cuter 💕💕
❣️I have naturally straight hair and is sadly pretty thin. I got a perm to make it look like it has more volume 👀 but regretted getting that perm a year ago so bad! 😭 I never had any treatments done to my hair before not even coloring but I was like hey let’s try something new and it messed up the quality and texture of my hair. Now it’s wavy and not that straight anymore. I also noticed that it lost a bit of its shine so I’ve been putting my hair up recently and hardly wear it down anymore. I also chopped most of it off (almost all the perm parts) and it’s finally growing back a bit. ❣️Been obsessed with these adorable hair pins. They’re so veritable and definitely can be worn up or down. So easy to use and they clip on so well! Sorry I don’t remember where I got them from though! They did come in a set. ❣️This is one of my favorite SUPER EASY and super cute effortless looks I’ve been into recently. You literally just 1. Get a stand of your hair from the front. 2. Pull it to the side 3. Twist it backwards 4. Pin it down with your favorite accessory! 💕Fast! Simple! Cute!💕 I made sure to pull some of the baby hairs out in the front to have a “messy effortless soft” look ☺️ Try it out and tell me how it goes! 💘
I love my curls. But I think it's quite hard to style curls. It takes me more than 20 minutes to straighten my hair, so when I am in a rush, I struggle with my hairstyle. Recently, I found a great hairstyle for curly hair! And it only takes a few minutes. Here we go! STEP 1: Take a large portion of your hair on one side of your face, and twist it inwards to the middle of your crown. You can leave a few pieces of hair at the front. Keep twisting until you reach the back of your head. STEP 2: Take a few bobby pins(similar to your hair color) and pin this section to the back of your head. Be sure to pin with the wavy side down, and criss-cross them for extra sturdiness. STEP 3: Repeat the exact same step on the other side. Twist a portion of your hair until you reach the back of your head, and then tuck that twisted piece under the first one. You can decorate it with fresh flowers or cute accessories. There are so many creative ways you can think of. You should definitely practice this a couple of times and be comfortable with doing it. And trust me, you will love your curly hair a lot better. If you have any other great hairstyles for curly hair, leave a comment!

Will Salicylic Acid Clear Your Skin?
The short answer is maybe. Here's the long answer. First, let's find out what salicylic acid is. Salicylic acid is a lipid soluble beta hydroxy acid which has comedolytic (inhibits formation of comedones) and desmolytic (breaks the junctions between corneocyte cells in the stratum corneum) properties. How does it work? The molecular structure of salicylic acid is what makes it lipid soluble, allowing it to penetrate the lipid layers between skin cells and dissolve debris in pores. This is how it's able to prevent the formation of comedones (blackheads and whitehead). Furthermore, salicylic acid breaks down the "glue" that holds corneocyte cells together, resulting in the softening and sloughing off of the very top layer of skin cells from the top layer of skin known as the stratum corneum. This is known as exfoliation. Exfoliation helps prevents accumulation of dead skin cells, sebum, makeup, etc. In plain English, it gets down deep into your skin, clears out your pores, and keeps all that gunk from getting back into you pores by not allowing it to build up on your skin. So to answer the title question, if blackheads and whiteheads are an issue for you, yes, salicylic acid may be a great ingredient to incorporate into your skincare routine. NOW, HERE'S THE CATCH. Salicylic acid can absolutely help you on your way to clear skin, BUT you need to use it properly, patiently, and persistently. How to use it: READ AND FOLLOW PRODUCT DIRECTIONS first and foremost to make sure you are properly using each product. Also, consider patch testing the product before putting it on the affected are. If using in wash form, it may help to leave it on your skin for a couple minutes to let the salicylic acid be in contact with your skin longer, then wash off completely. If using in a spot treatment, tread lightly until you know how your skin will react. you also definitely need to makes sure you keep your skin moisturized as salicylic acid can be very drying. And as always, use sunscreen every day. Failure to properly use products containing salicylic acid may result in skin injury!!! How long to use it: Providing it's well tolerated, it's important to give salicylic acid time to work. Trying a product for a week and giving up is common, but salicylic acid can take up to 6 weeks to give you the full result. 6 WEEKS. So if you find a product that you tolerate well, give it time, sis. Be patient. For best results be persistent, trust the process, and don't get discouraged. Taking a "before" picture will help you monitor your progress. Look out for: -allergic reaction -tingling -itching -peeling *make sure to talk to your doctor before using salicylic acid during pregnancy Lastly, the product pictured is Zapzyt, my all time favorite salicylic acid acne wash. It's fragrance free and very gentle on my sensitive skin. You can expect to pay no more than $10 USD and it lasts for months. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk 📢😂 and happy skincare hunting!
My 10 months of hair!
This post goes out to all of you wonderful wavy babes! Let me tell you, when I started trying to restore my natural hair pattern I stopped at NOTHING to make my hair as curly as possible. I wanted curly, voluminous, bouncy hair, and at first all I saw was limpy nothingness. I refused to accept the fact that my hair was wavy and not the coil ringlets I’ve always wanted. AND THAT HAD A HUGE EFFECT ON MY HAIR. Curly hair is very different than wavy. Here’s why. Curly hair will thrive off of thick products because let’s face it, curls need a lot of extra oomf to hold that wonderful curl, but wavy hair can be very finicky. Too much product? Crunchy, flat, lifeless. Not enough product? Frizzy, wide and fluffy zigzags that look like you slept on straight hair funky. I looked what felt like EVERYWHERE for anything to tell me how to style wavy hair, but all I ever got was how to take care of curls so I assumed. What’s the difference? In many cases, there is NO difference. Stay away from drying alcohols, no parabens, no waxes, etc etc. But what they don’t tell you is that there are certain products that are just too heavy for a bouncy, beachy wave. Oils are great! But too much or a combo of too many can weigh down the roots and make the hair stringy and flat. Too much gel creates a straw like effect that just makes me want to scream. And sometimes creams make your hair feel amazing, but there isn’t any hold to help your hair keep its shape. It’s all about trial and error. Some days will be the best hair day of your life, and other days you just want to shave it all off. But embrace those waves! Waves are the perfect medium between curly and straight! Waves can hold a tighter styled curl as well as hold a nice straight style from a flat iron (god given that the humidity is on your side that day aka non existent!) but natural waves are just as beautiful as both extremes and we have to keep in mind, that even though we aren’t naturally getting that perfect coil, some bouncy beach waves are all we need! Thank you for coming to my ted talk. See ya lovelies ❤️
Empty Bottle! 7 weeks after using The Ordinary ✨
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I started The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum with the goal of brightening dark circles and reducing hyperpigmentation, reducing redness and blotchiness, and reducing sebaceous cysts. I can say with confidence that I have met all these skincare goals whilst using this product for the past 7 weeks and I am thrilled that it worked for me as well as it did! I also noticed a bonus of having skin that is a lot more smooth on top of everything else (as seen in my before live picture). This is the only serum that I have used along with the rest of my skincare routine. My method of using this serum is to drop 3 droplets of serum onto my fingertips and apply all over my face after washing my face with toner, and then apply moisturizer afterwards. I have also gotten into a habit of applying extra product onto my neck as well and have noticed brightening and wrinkle reductions where I have creases on my neck! Make sure not to touch the dropper onto your skin, as the dirt and oils from your skin may contaminate the product that is already in the bottle. In an earlier post, I had mentioned that I did experience some purging during the beginning of using this product. I did break out a little and experienced redness and sensitivity all over my skin during the first week of using this product, but stuck it out despite my skepticisms. However, I’d suggest that if the redness and break outs are significantly worse than what you are normally used to, you may be having an allergic reaction to this product. I also did not notice any minimization or pore reduction, but I anticipate this for most products I use since genetically speaking, I have big pores and I don’t think any skincare product can help me with this. I do have to say that the sebum control around my nose has improved significantly and I don’t get as many whiteheads as I used to! I can not recommend this product enough to people who want to try this miracle HG product 🥰🥰. It is so worth it especially for the price it’s sold for!!! I’ve already bought a second bottle of 60ml and it will continue to be in my skincare routine from now on!
How to choose tinted moisturizer for your skin? ULTIMATE Guide!
Surely you have heard of tinted moisturizers, as they have been a revolution in the cosmetics market in recent years and have been popularized by many celebrities by the hand of great stylists and makeup artists. Color moisturizers arise from the need to combine in a single product the ability to moisturize and protect of a cream and the aesthetic possibility of giving a touch of color and correcting that makeup provides. Since its inception, there have been many different types of tinted moisturizers that have appeared on the market, but they all have a common purpose: the protection of the skin and bring beauty to the face. That said, when choosing a tinted moisturizer we must focus our attention mainly on the benefits it will bring to our skin. Hydration capacity Generally speaking, facial moisturizers are created with formulas that integrate different active ingredients that serve mainly three purposes: moisturize, nourish, and protect the dermis. In addition, depending on specific uses, they may be enriched with other ingredients or elements that provide them with additional properties that vary depending on the type of skin on which it is to be applied. This is going to be a determining factor when selecting one product or another, because depending on whether we have dry, sensitive skin or oily skin, the type of color moisturizer we will choose will have to meet the needs of that type of skin. Protection factor According to numerous dermatologists, the best antiaging is photoprotective, especially if it is for daily use. This is because one of the main factors of skin aging is ultraviolet rays (UV), as they are able to damage the elastin and collagen of the dermis, which favors the appearance of wrinkles, in addition to being able to cause the appearance of spots and other lesions. Color and luminosity If we are talking about the benefits of a tinted moisturizer, precisely color is an important part, one of the reasons for being of the moisturizer with color, was to adopt at the same time the characteristics of a moisturizer and provide the color and corrective capacity of makeup. Skin tone is a point to keep in mind when choosing our cream. Ideally, the cream tone is identical to the tone of our skin, so it is advisable to do tests to check it. The cheek area is the most appropriate area to do this type of test. Within the different types of color moisturizer that exist, we can meet BB Cream or CC Cream depending on their corrective capacity and other properties. The second photo is the difference between a bb cream and a foundation: As you can see, the bb cream, which is a sort of tinted moisturizer is far more natural than the foundation. I personally use the NYX bb cream. “bare with me”. I have dry skin and this is perfect for me. With this tinted moisturizer, this is the finished result that I get: a very lightweight yet radiant look that covers my imperfections.
