Rummaging through the collection, putting the neon orange, the pretty summery blue and some random shade thrown in, yet, still going for the basic cherry red or the pastels because they are a 'safe' choice. If you have done this for this summer where everyone is stuck in their homes most of the time, then we understand what you are going through.
2020 came with many surprises for all of us but that doesn't mean we can't indulge a little to brighten up the mood and change up the everyday mundane routines. We found some colours perfect for the summer that will bring you out of that funk and give your hands a beautiful and fun look. You can bring these colours to salons that have started to reopen or use them yourself, but they are sure to make you feel pretty nice once done. These are some of our favourites from popular brands and different finishes so you can find them easily but find some that will suit your aesthetic perfectly.
Chanel – Shade Cruise
Orange nail generally scares more of you because they think they won't look good with it on. We're here to put those fears to rest. Whether you have a tan or you don't orange is a summery shade that brings the perfect balance between fun and classy. This shade by Chanel manages to achieve that balance and looks great on your hands and your feet. It has a long-wear shiny finish.
OPI – Shade How Does Your Zen Garden Grow
Green shades are difficult to perfect. Especially if the greens are of a lighter tone. OPI hits the mark with its shade 'how does your zen garden grow'. How perfect is the name for this colour as well? This is a bright but not dark green colour that is not your usual pink. It will pop on the nails but the best part for those with darker skin tones is it won't look neon on you as well.

Essie – Shade Butler Please
Blue in nail polish that is universally loved. This shade by Essie is an old favourite for many. It looks beautiful against light, tan or dark skin. It is a vibrant electric blue that gives off a cool feel making it perfect for the summer.

Base Coat – Shade Maddie
Bright colours are perfect for the summer. Out of these bright shades, when we think of the purple family, this is the first one that comes to mind. The Base Coat nail polish in shade Maddie is gorgeous lavender that is the perfect blend of bright and pastel without leaning towards either. If you're looking for a non-toxic and vegan formula, then look no further because this lavender fits all your need.

Sally Hansen – Shade Shhhh-immer
Remember when the rose gold was everywhere? In makeup, hair colours, mobile phones and nail colours? Well looks like it is here to stay. This rose gold shimmer finish by Sally Hansen is extremely sparkly with a good colour payoff too after two or three coats. You can sheer it out with one coat if you're just looking for a glitter top coat on another nail polish or you can triple the coat and wear it alone. This colour was upgraded in their miracle gel top coat formula this summer which helps it lasts even longer.

Sundays – Shade No.17
Not everyone wants to experiment. Some people just know what they love and the kind of shades that will look good on them. Red is one of those shades and this red from Sunday's nail polishes is well-loved. It is a deep red that fits every skin tone. The formula is also vegan, non-toxic, and lasts several days without chipping.

There is 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻 without 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻. And, the 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 is the one that you will wear religiously. May provide protection against blue light. ☀️ One of the few tinted moisturizers that blends in well in skin of color. The tint is so homogenous and nice that you can away with not applying foundation after. ☀️ Contains 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗹𝘆𝗮𝘀𝗲, an enzyme, that help repair damage caused by the sun. Not too thick or too thin, apply easily on the skin. ☀️ contains 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗘, an antioxidant as well as moisturizing Cons 🥴 𝗢𝗶𝗹𝘆, would not recommend for oily skin 😱 $$$ 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲, it is definitely a splurge when there are comparable more frugal options out there.

Everything in our lives changed and things have been incredibly difficult. The entire world had a health crisis, so many of our loved ones are no longer here. I myself am taking a journey with a health crisis of my own but as hard as 2020 has been, it has also been INCREDIBLE.” Creator: @briordan2000 “This year has definitely been a wild ride. A Year in review!
A Year in review!
This year has definitely been a wild ride. I’ve learned so much more about my hair and skin in this last year than I ever thought I would or needed to know! All the way from using witch hazel and not paying attention to my curl pattern, to staying completely fragrance free with face products and staying away from harsh toners and paying attention to what my hair was trying to do! Using this app has really opened doors for me that I wouldn’t thought possible for my beauty process! I can’t wait to see what more years bring me, and us! Thank you @cherie!
Curology vs The Ordinary! Which is better?!
Curology vs The Ordinary! Which is better?!
Curology - Curology formula This is the first photo! Did wonders for my skin it was the best it had ever been since I started getting acne in middle school. Curology literally saved my skin, it was clear and great! (Over a year later) The second photo:/ I decided to stop using curology around 2 months ago and start using ordinary products. I decided to do this because I wanted to see if the ordinary could do the same thing as curology and maybe make my skin even better. This wasn’t because curology was bad or anything It was just something I wanted to test. I was pretty confident in my skin so I didn’t think it would be bad. I saw on social media how great it was so I figured why not? ... After slowly introducing ordinary products into my skincare routine to ( i used both ordinary and curology products together) I could see that my skin was breaking out more when I introduced the ordinary products. I didn’t think much of it cause I knew that my skin was just purging from the new products. After about 2 months of using both curology and ordinary products I decided to just try ordinary products because my skin was breaking out a lot and I felt that the ordinary would help it. (I think should’ve stuck with curology but this was just my curiosity about the product). ... (Now) I am on week 6 of using all ordinary products and this is what my skin looks like (photo 2) and I’m not happy with the results:/The first couple weeks I knew I would be purging, my skin was at its worst a couple weeks ago (week 3). But I figured that by now or next week my skin would be clear( the only reason I felt that my skin would be pretty much clear by now or next week was because while using curology all my acne was gonna by week 7). So I’m still trying to figure out if I wanna continue to use the ordinary products for a couple more weeks before I give up because it’s not giving me the results I want. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I don’t really know how to rate this because obviously it hasn’t worked for my skin very well but I’m not sure if it’s because my skin needs more time to adjust (it has been 6 weeks so...). I think that this product works great for some people but for me definitely not. Right from the start of using it, it broke me out and then once I only used this line of products it made my skin terrible. I also used The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Which didn’t do much in the 6weeks I used it. I did feel like it helped my acne a little. Overall I really did wish this line of products would help my acne and make my skin clear like curology but that wasn’t the case. This product line is definitely not for my skin. I’ll write out my skin care routine comparisons in my next post!
