7 Steps to a Perfect Pro-Style Pedicure Right at Home

Going to the salon for a pedicure these days can get pretty pricey. However, leaving the house with ghastly-looking toenails is ill-advised in the summertime. Those cute sandals are meant for showcasing perfectly-polished toes and smooth as silk feet. If going to the salon is out of the question due to time or budget constraints, you can turn your own space into a salon-spa oasis to give yourself the perfect professional pedicure!
It's much easier than you think, and these 7 steps will take you from start to flawless finish!
1. Set the stage
First, you’ll want to find a comfortable space for your home pedicure. You should gather everything you need too so you can settle in without having to get up once you start. A nice glass of wine, some candles, and chill music help to set the mood too. Make this fun, as it should be. In addition to nail polish remover and cotton pads, you’ll need nail clippers, a nail file, a pumice stone, something to soak those tired tootsies in, a dry towel, and your polishes including the base and quick-drying top coat.
2. Get rid of old polish
If you habitually paint over old pedicures, please stop. It’s so much easier to remove old polish if you haven’t layered it over 10 times. Especially if your polish has glitter in it. Make sure every last trace of nail polish is gone so you can start fresh on your pedicure. Any stains can be removed with fresh lemon juice.
3. Give your feet a glorious soaking
Submerge your feet in a foot bath with warm water. You can also sit on the side of your tub if you don’t have a bucket or basin big enough for both feet. But don’t just leave it at that. Use a dedicated foot soak or even plain Epsom salt which will soften your skin and draw out toxins.
4. Buff your feet
After a good soaking of about 10 minutes, you can take to buffing your feet to a soft and smooth appearance. This may take some work but with a pumice stone, you’ll get there. You want to remove the dead, rough skin to soften up the balls and bottoms of your feet.
5. Trim nails and soothe cuticles
Now, turn your attention to your nails and trim them down to the right size. File the rough edges away and shape them. You should also think about your cuticles. While a pro may opt to cut your cuticles, it’s not recommended, especially if you are trying to do it yourself. Cuticles can do with a quick massage of cuticle oil to keep them healthy but refrain from cutting them as they can easily get infected.
6. Add back some moisture
After you’ve trimmed, filed, buffed, and all that good stuff, make sure you put a good moisturizer on your feet. This seals in hydration and keeps that softness from all that buffing intact. Take a moment to sit back and enjoy your wine and music though since you should wait until it soaks in and absorbs so it doesn’t interfere with your polishing steps.
7. Start painting
You’re almost done! You’ll start with a thin base coat and then let it set. Quick-drying options are always the best for a speedier pedicure. Next, you’ll move onto your chosen nail polish. You can roll the bottle in your hand to unify the consistency of the paint within. Add one coat and let it set a minute before following up with a second coat.
Strokes are key here so make sure to swipe up the middle and then one on each side of that for a uniform appearance. After the second coat, wait a minute or two before applying your top coat.
Voila! Your Perfect Home Pedicure is Done!
While there’s no denying a trip to the salon for a pedicure is a wonderful way to treat yourself, it’s not always doable in your budget or when you can’t get an appointment in time before a big event. With these 7 steps though, you’ll have perfectly polished toes that are ready to go whenever you are!

What is the best way to apply spf and how often?
What is the best way to apply spf and how often?
Understanding what products to use in your routine can be overwhelming, add trying to figure out how much sunscreen you need to put on your face makes it all that more complicated. Thankfully there are some tips to know exactly how much sun protection is the right amount. Proper sun protection is extremely important for everyone, especially if you are also into skincare or use actives (also known as exfoliants or acids). The best way to apply sunscreen or spf is to use the 2 to 3 finger rule for liquid sunscreens. This rule was popularized by Tiara aka MakeupforWOC who is an esthetician on Twitter and Instagram. This method involves using the index and middle finger length of sunscreen, with the option of adding your ring finger to ensure full sun protection for your face, neck and ears. To make sure you have enough sun protection before leaving the house use a full teaspoon to cover the face, neck and ears, then apply whatever else is left over on the back of your hands and half a teaspoon for only your face. When applying sunscreen, make sure there is an even application, rubbing it into the skin and wait 15 minutes before any sun exposure. Reapplication is recommended every 2 hours after the initial application. If you are also wearing makeup there are the options of spray, powder, cream/lotion for spf. The rule of thumb for reapplication of sunscreen is to blot your face before, as the oils from your face can breakdown the spf. My two fav sunscreens are LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ and EVERYDAY HUMANS - Resting Beach Face SPF30 Sunscreen Serum #CheriePartner

Another beautiful HA serum other than Glowrecipe

Another beautiful Hyaluronic acid serum! I am a fan of Farsali products and this is no exception 😍❤️ MOISTURE REPLENISHING SERUM QUENCH by Farsali ✨💧 fARSÁLI - Quench I found it similar to Glowrecipe one in performance and details while the consistency is a little different. It's a hyaluronic acid serum that helps to replenish moisture in the skin by using a unique complex of low and high molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid. The staggered molecular weights of the Hyaluronic Acid are designed to help promote multi-depth hydration on both the skin's surface and in the epidermis. Enriched with replenishing Provitamin B5, the skin's elasticity appears improved as well as feeling and looking softer. ❤️INGREDIENTS: 💧Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid is a lightweight, versatile hydrator that attracts and binds 1,000 times its weight in water. Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid is such a tiny molecule, it's able to penetrate deep into your skin and replenish moisture from within. 💧Hyaluronic Acid High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid, due to the larger molecule size, this Hyaluronic Acid sits on top of the skin, forming an invisible shield that traps moisture. This helps reduce moisture loss from stress, heat, extreme cold and environmental factors. 💧Vitamin B5 Vitamin B5 a naturally moisturizing form of Vitamin B5, otherwise known as Panthenol. This silky vitamin helps replenish skin for a soft and supple appearance. The best part is it's Ingredients list, it's only 7 Ingredients and the formulation is so good that I feel I have been sleeping on this product for this long. It feels so soft and smooth on skin, goes on silky, smooth and doesn't feel heavy. And after few hours skin feels super hydrated and plump. I found this serum to be working the best for dehydrated skin condition. Especially in the colder months. Dehydration leads to broken barrier and dullnes, this targets these issues! It's only 24$ which is a win in my opinion! Their opther products which are my favorite are a bit more expensive than this one! I love it! It goes on perfect under makeup as well! Would you like to try this?

My Top 3 Favourite Lip Combos
My Top 3 Favourite Lip Combos
I have tried so many different lip products and combos, and these 3 combos are definitely my favourite at the moment! All these products are long wearing and look amazing on the lips. Lip Combo #1: KKW Beauty Nude 1 Lip Liner + Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick I’m a huge fan of rosy nude lips and the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow talk lipstick is perfect! I like to pair it with the KKW Nude 1 liner because this liner acts as a sort of contour for the lips since it’s darker and more brown than the lipstick. KKW BEAUTY - KKW BEAUTY Nude Lip Liner Charlotte Tilbury - Hot Lips Lipstick Lip Combo #2: KKW Nude 1 Lip Liner + KKW Nude 1 Lipstick This has been my go to nude lip for a while now! I could never find the “perfect nude” that worked for my skin tone, and finally I’m so glad that I did. This combo is the perfect light nude shade and is perfect for everyday wear. It goes with any makeup look too! KKW BEAUTY - KKW BEAUTY Nude Lip Liner KKW BEAUTY - Nude Crème Lipstick Lip Combo #3: Kylie Cosmetics Kylie Lip Kit (Lip Liner + Matte Liquid Lip) There’s no denying the fact that Kylie Jenners pout is iconic. So what better way to achieve her go to lips than actually use her go to lip products!? The “Kylie” Lip Kit is her go to (hence the name haha) it’s the perfect pink nude and makes your lips look super plump because of the darker lipliner that comes in the kit. The pairing of the darker lip liner with the pink nude liquid lip contours your lips for that Kylie pout effect! KYLIE COSMETICS - KYLIE COSMETICS Matte Liquid Lipstick
