Download the app today to be a part of #BeautyWithoutBarriers and show the world what beauty means to you!Anyone who has seborrheic dermatitis knows how itchy and uncomfortable your scalp can be on any given day. I've had it since high school and was always on a constant search for products that would help keep my scalp itch and scab free. From scalp scrubs to apple cider vinegar washes, I've tried it all and to no avail (BTW that Sunday Riley Clean Rinse scalp treatment is a BUST). While I've had moments of scalp freedom, my experience with seborrheic dermatitis was so consistent that I ended up getting used to it and had all but given up on my search. I didn't realize how good it could feel to have an itch-free scalp... until I tried Vitabrid C12's hair care line. Vitamin C Hair Care = SCALP FREEDOMThe duo that I owe my scalp health to is Vitabrid C12's Scalp Shampoo and Hair Tonic. For my first week of use, I decided only to use the shampoo, no conditioner, and the tonic at my roots. I'd put a leave-in oil from Ouai for the middle and ends of my hair to keep them moisturized.Vitabrid C12 Scalp Shampoo:From Vitabrid C12's website, benefits of this shampoo include: - Helps to reverse the damage caused by environmental factors as well as chemical treatments and processing. - Antioxidants Vitamins C & E deliver energy to the cells to promote healthy hair. - Prevents hair loss and promotes thicker hair. - Natural plant-sourced ingredients make a sensitive and weak scalp healthier and provide moisture and nutrients to the hair, thus maintaining its luster. - Natural, plant-sourced ingredients keep the scalp healthy, nourished, and moisturized. - Gentle, pH balanced formula is safe for all hair types and textures. - Free of 16 harmful substances including silicon, parabens, and sulfates
Vitabrid C¹²Scalp ShampooVitabrid C12 Hair Tonic:From Vitabrid C12's website, benefits of this tonic include: - Patented vitamin C powder is combined with a hair tonic, allowing for the delivery of transdermal Vitamin C into the scalp for 12 hours. Vitamin C improves cell metabolism and promotes collagen production, preventing hair loss and making hair stronger. - Active ingredients are delivered deep into the scalp to soothe irritation caused by harmful external factors. Additional nutrients deliver moisture and help promote thicker, shinier, healthier hair. - Antioxidant protection minimizes UV damage and prolongs the life of hair color - A separate conditioner is not needed as it hydrates and smoothes the scalp and hair
Vitabrid C¹²Hair Tonic ProfessionalAn Unexpected Experience & Better-Than-Hoped-For ResultsAs you can see above, these two products have some powerful claims and some powerful ingredients. I went into trying this duo with minimal expectations—after you've tried just about everything for scalp health to no effect, it's safe to keep expectations low. My first impressions on the shampoo: - WOW this smells sooo good! Citrus-y but not too sweet. A hint of musk. This could be a perfume 😍 - Love this lather, and it feels really cooling on my scalp - I wish there was a conditioner tho... My first impressions on the tonic: - Ooof this smells really strong, almost medicinal - That vitamin C is coming through though - I like how fine this mist is The next morning waking up - My scalp doesn't itch!!! - My hair is BOUNCING - Is this what scalp freedom feels like? After about a week of use, it was safe to say I found my holy grail when it comes to scalp care. I threw away all the arbitrary scalp products I had (sorry Briogeo and Sunday Riley) and reveled in this discovery. Fast forward to a month of use, and my scalp has truly never felt so healthy. I only use the scalp shampoo about once or twice a week, but I continue to use the hair tonic every time I wash my hair. Finding products that grant you freedom from discomfort is why beauty lovers scour the web for all sorts of solutions. When you find something so good, share it with the world!

Welcome everyone! Especially all my new followers❤️ I want to let you know how much I appreciate each & every one of you! I’ve been having so much fun on Cherie the last couple months! I follow everyone back & cant wait to see what all my new beauties have in store! Thank you so so much to everyone for all the love & support, it truly means a lot to me💗 When I first became disabled 6 years ago, I simultaneously got really into skincare due to my newfound free time & lack of mobility... Believe it or not, taking care of my skin, as small of a thing as it may have seemed, helped give me confidence to do other things I needed to do like physical therapy. This year, between quarantine & moving to a rural area, I got really into skincare again. This app has been super helpful & I enjoy writing for you guys so much. I never thought I had good enough skin or was a good enough writer to be doing beauty reviews, but it’s always something I had great interest in. So I wanted to share the love by sharing 20 of my favorite Cherie users you should all check out! How to choose tinted moisturizer for your skin? ULTIMATE Guide!
Surely you have heard of tinted moisturizers, as they have been a revolution in the cosmetics market in recent years and have been popularized by many celebrities by the hand of great stylists and makeup artists. Color moisturizers arise from the need to combine in a single product the ability to moisturize and protect of a cream and the aesthetic possibility of giving a touch of color and correcting that makeup provides. Since its inception, there have been many different types of tinted moisturizers that have appeared on the market, but they all have a common purpose: the protection of the skin and bring beauty to the face. That said, when choosing a tinted moisturizer we must focus our attention mainly on the benefits it will bring to our skin. Hydration capacity Generally speaking, facial moisturizers are created with formulas that integrate different active ingredients that serve mainly three purposes: moisturize, nourish, and protect the dermis. In addition, depending on specific uses, they may be enriched with other ingredients or elements that provide them with additional properties that vary depending on the type of skin on which it is to be applied. This is going to be a determining factor when selecting one product or another, because depending on whether we have dry, sensitive skin or oily skin, the type of color moisturizer we will choose will have to meet the needs of that type of skin. Protection factor According to numerous dermatologists, the best antiaging is photoprotective, especially if it is for daily use. This is because one of the main factors of skin aging is ultraviolet rays (UV), as they are able to damage the elastin and collagen of the dermis, which favors the appearance of wrinkles, in addition to being able to cause the appearance of spots and other lesions. Color and luminosity If we are talking about the benefits of a tinted moisturizer, precisely color is an important part, one of the reasons for being of the moisturizer with color, was to adopt at the same time the characteristics of a moisturizer and provide the color and corrective capacity of makeup. Skin tone is a point to keep in mind when choosing our cream. Ideally, the cream tone is identical to the tone of our skin, so it is advisable to do tests to check it. The cheek area is the most appropriate area to do this type of test. Within the different types of color moisturizer that exist, we can meet BB Cream or CC Cream depending on their corrective capacity and other properties. The second photo is the difference between a bb cream and a foundation: As you can see, the bb cream, which is a sort of tinted moisturizer is far more natural than the foundation. I personally use the NYX bb cream. “bare with me”. I have dry skin and this is perfect for me. With this tinted moisturizer, this is the finished result that I get: a very lightweight yet radiant look that covers my imperfections.
Will Salicylic Acid Clear Your Skin?
The short answer is maybe. Here's the long answer. First, let's find out what salicylic acid is. Salicylic acid is a lipid soluble beta hydroxy acid which has comedolytic (inhibits formation of comedones) and desmolytic (breaks the junctions between corneocyte cells in the stratum corneum) properties. How does it work? The molecular structure of salicylic acid is what makes it lipid soluble, allowing it to penetrate the lipid layers between skin cells and dissolve debris in pores. This is how it's able to prevent the formation of comedones (blackheads and whitehead). Furthermore, salicylic acid breaks down the "glue" that holds corneocyte cells together, resulting in the softening and sloughing off of the very top layer of skin cells from the top layer of skin known as the stratum corneum. This is known as exfoliation. Exfoliation helps prevents accumulation of dead skin cells, sebum, makeup, etc. In plain English, it gets down deep into your skin, clears out your pores, and keeps all that gunk from getting back into you pores by not allowing it to build up on your skin. So to answer the title question, if blackheads and whiteheads are an issue for you, yes, salicylic acid may be a great ingredient to incorporate into your skincare routine. NOW, HERE'S THE CATCH. Salicylic acid can absolutely help you on your way to clear skin, BUT you need to use it properly, patiently, and persistently. How to use it: READ AND FOLLOW PRODUCT DIRECTIONS first and foremost to make sure you are properly using each product. Also, consider patch testing the product before putting it on the affected are. If using in wash form, it may help to leave it on your skin for a couple minutes to let the salicylic acid be in contact with your skin longer, then wash off completely. If using in a spot treatment, tread lightly until you know how your skin will react. you also definitely need to makes sure you keep your skin moisturized as salicylic acid can be very drying. And as always, use sunscreen every day. Failure to properly use products containing salicylic acid may result in skin injury!!! How long to use it: Providing it's well tolerated, it's important to give salicylic acid time to work. Trying a product for a week and giving up is common, but salicylic acid can take up to 6 weeks to give you the full result. 6 WEEKS. So if you find a product that you tolerate well, give it time, sis. Be patient. For best results be persistent, trust the process, and don't get discouraged. Taking a "before" picture will help you monitor your progress. Look out for: -allergic reaction -tingling -itching -peeling *make sure to talk to your doctor before using salicylic acid during pregnancy Lastly, the product pictured is Zapzyt, my all time favorite salicylic acid acne wash. It's fragrance free and very gentle on my sensitive skin. You can expect to pay no more than $10 USD and it lasts for months. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk 📢😂 and happy skincare hunting!
PSL-inspired Mani + Pedi Tutorial
Though deemed “basic”, I truly love anything pumpkin - the color, scent, foods, decor, you name it. Of courseeee to kick off fall I wanted my first fall mani to be inspired by pumpkin. To be honest, this is the first time I’ve painted my nails (aside from my wedding day) since early August. My nails were in rough shape due to constantly painting them, so I took some much needed time off. I also don’t have the steadiest hands, so keep in mind that your mani could look much cleaner than mine! This mani is a PSL- inspired (pumpkin spice latte) French tips with solid colored pedi. The star polish of these nail looks is DECO MIAMI - PSL Nail Lacquer “PSL” (how aptly named). This polish isn’t the best quality-wise. It typically chips within two days, but it’s too gorgeous not to use. It has a cream finish. I got it in a set I purchased a few years ago, but it is available for $12 on the Deco website if you’re interested. Do you have a fave burn orange shade? Leave it below! What You’ll Need: -a burnt orange nail polish -white nail polish (though pale cream would look great, too!) -base coat -top coat -paper reinforcements -tweezers (optional) Mani Steps: 1. Apply your base coat to clean, polish-free nails. 2. Apply at least 2 coats of your burnt orange polish so that your nails are coated opaquely. Let your polish dry for a minimum of 2 hours. Longer is better. You could even do this step the night before. 3. Using tweezers or your fingers (I like tweezers), remove one of the paper reinforcements from its sheet. Lay it on top of your nail so that a small, slightly rounded section is left at the top (the tip). Press down firmly with your free hand so that it sticks (this is why your nails must be super dry or your base polish may come off). 4. Apply an opaque layer of white polish to the tip of the nail. It’s okay if the polish touches the reinforcement. As long as you pressed down, you should get a fairly clean edge. 5. Slowly + carefully remove the paper reinforcement with your other hand or tweezers (I use tweezers) immediately after applying the white tip. 6. Repeat with all other nails on this hand. 7. If any of your edges aren’t as clean as you’d like, you can go back with your burnt orange polish and clean them up with a tiny bit of polish. Let completely dry before applying top coat. 8. Repeat on next hand. Pedi Steps: Repeat steps 1-2 and apply top coat once dry. I personally find it easier to completely finish 1 hand before doing my next hand, but if you’re a mani pro, feel free to breeze through these steps. Also, if you have steadier hands, try free-handing your tips instead of using paper reinforcements. Products I Used: Deco Miami “PSL”, SINFULCOLOR - Professional Nail Polish “Snow Me White”, .INC. - Back to Life Recovery Treatment & Base Coat , Nails Inc 45 second top coat (still testing so no rating) #CheriePartner
