Steps to Thicker Healthier Hair

Who doesn't want healthier, thicker, and stronger hair? From dousing our hair with every hair mask we’ve ever owned to popping multiple hair supplements, most of us are willing to do (or buy!) anything that will help us achieve celebrity worthy voluminous locks. We have outlined 5 simple steps to follow to achieve thick, full hair once and for all.
Eat well
Achieving thicker and healthier hair isn't just about what you apply to it. It’s what you consume daily too so go ahead, eat that Avocado! A diet full of healthy fats is essential for thick and healthy hair. Our diet plays a role in how genes can get expressed so ensure you get plenty of good-quality protein and good fats like olive oil and Omega 3. We recommend foods such as salmon, avocados, nuts, vegetables, and fruit to get all the key nutrients needed for growing stronger hair.
Use the right products
Different hair types require specific products that cater to their exact needs. Those with fine hair should look for volume-building shampoo and conditioners to boost the appearance of thickness and add shine and for those with coarse hair, choose products that tame frizz and moisture. Shampoos and conditioners labeled volumizing or thickening usually contain fewer conditioning ingredients, so they don’t weigh hair down. Be aware of over washing your hair and wearing super tight hairstyles too!
Supplements
Taking a multivitamin along with a hair supplement can make a big difference. Certain vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids are necessary for healthy hair follicle function and growth. Choose a supplement which is high in anti-inflammatory Omega 3 and horsetail and pumpkin seed extract or at least contains powerhouse ingredients such as a bioavailable variety of keratin to improve hair growth. Be patient: results can take three to six months—and you’ll need to keep taking it along with a healthy diet to maintain your new hair growth.
Avoid heat
We know it can be hard to break up with your styling tools but if you truly want healthier hair, needs must!. Keeping hot tools at a minimum will lessen hair damage. If you can’t stay away from your favorite hot tools, it’s crucial to use a heat protectant spray and choose a styling tool that regulates heat and temperature evenly. If you are using heat then instead of blowing downward on your roots with your hair dryer, make sure you're getting the brush under your roots and lifting upward as you blow dry.
Fake it
You’ve heard the saying, Fake it til’ you make it! When creating the illusion of thicker hair, use something lightweight that will plump the hair at the root without weighing hair down. To finish off a look use a thickening texture spray for even more added volume. Hair flat to the head always looks more thinner than hair that is lifted at the root. Dry shampoo is one of the beauty world's modern miracles, but it does more than just make your dirty mane appear clean. Simply spray a small amount along your roots and it will give you an instant boost of volume.

The shadows are creamy, pigmented, and super blendable! FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya I love the cleansing balm so I was excited to try this! It has definitely helped my skin stay hydrated and even makes it look more glowy and matte! I love the texture and it absorbs quickly! #Avant Skincare - Bi-Phase Hyaluronic Acid Rejuvenating Micellar Water[products]#[FourStars] This reneges ALL my makeup, even mascara, with no issues! My skin feels smooth and hydrated after using it. However, it has a LOT of fragrance. I don't mind the smell, but it does linger. #Seraphine Botanicals - Apple + Baume Glow Lip Mask[products]#[FiveStars] A great lip mask! Hydrated lips nicely! I like applying this as I start my makeup routine and it's usually absorbed by the time I get to my lips. #Trust Fund Beauty - Lipgasm Lip Gloss[products]#[FourStars] this is a pretty gloss but it is a bit sticky. Why I Decided to Ditch My Clarisonic Brush
Why I Decided to Ditch My Clarisonic Brush
Back in the day, my clarisonic - MIA 2 FACIAL CLEANSING BRUSH was my go to. I started using it religiously (daily). Well, deciding that once a day was way too much to use an abrasive electronic brush on my face, I decided to only use it when needed. When I would use it here and there, almost every time I would breakout. I tried using brand new heads, replacing the heads regularly, etc. In contrast of my personal experience with this brush, much research is shown that these brushes can damage the acid mantle, protective film and natural oils, and amino acids that are on our skin. Abrasive skin tools to me were just a fad and now that we have come so far with knowledge on a healthy skin care routine, we should focus on products that effect the skins beauty from within by using appropriate ingredients that penetrate the skin and change it from the inside out. To me, a deep clean from a brush is not worth me breaking out. I would rather use a chemical exfoliant (such as The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ) or a gently microdermabrasion paste/wash (such as philosophy - The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash ) when needed. What is the go to way to exfoliate your face? Also, has anyone had the same experience with Clarisonic brushes or face brushes in general?

are pore bubbling masks worth it? 🧼🛁💬
are pore bubbling masks worth it? 🧼🛁💬
since COVID has started, I know many people are on new (or refining old) skincare journeys and I’ve recently been experiencing some dryness/dehydrating as the winter rolls around, which also aggravates my already oily skin. I’ve worked in the beauty industry for a while and also was formerly an esthetician, so I can get picky with skincare and ingredients. ‼️for reference, my skin type is: combo (oily/dehydrated), formerly acneic, hyperpigmentation prone, and sensitive 🔬I’ve used Dr. Jart in the past and love that it’s a Korean, science-backed brand so I was stoked to try this Porecting Solution Mask! this mask promises fresh, clear glowing skin that deeply cleanses and purifies pores. the mask contains charcoal and saponine, which creates the bubbling effect you see in the above photo. this product does not contain sulfates, paragons, are phthalates. 🛁when I first took it out of its package, I thought there were *two* masks per package instead of one, but if you read the instructions, there’s actually a “mask film” on the actual mask itself that you’re supposed to remove, so make sure to do that! the actual mask is thick and full of product while the mask film is thinner and lighter in color. the directions also give you a tip to massage the mask to release the bubbling/foaming effect - I did this mask with my mom at the same time in separate rooms and she totally didn’t read the instructions so her mask didn’t bubble at all, so I would suggest to definitely massage the mask. 💬I left it on for 20 minutes and it continued to bubble about 5-10 minutes in, then stopped bubbling. you can hear the bubbles pop as the mask sits on your face, which is kinda weird but cool. the mask didn’t slip off AT ALL which is also a huge, even when I put a sweatshirt on over my head. after taking it off, the serum took about another 10 minutes to soak into my skin and my face felt super smooth and my pores looked tighter and more clean. I have a few sebaceous filaments on my nose that I sometimes pick at and as I was rubbing the serum into my skin, I saw that some of the sebaceous filaments on my nose were sloughing off (which is gross, but speaks to how well the product worked)! overall, I would definitely recommend and use this again! if you have oily skin or otherwise clogged pores, sebaceous filaments, blackheads, etc. I would suggest this for you. even if you have dry/normal skin, this would be a good option since my skin didn’t feel dried out at all afterward, even in my dry spell now, and felt rather hydrated and plump. five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just not loving Glossy Box :(
This was the Black Friday Glossy Box (missing a sachet of conditioner) and I’m just not overly impressed with their boxes lately. They seem so random. What beauty box subscriptions do you LOVE?
