Download the app today to be a part of #BeautyWithoutBarriers and show the world what beauty means to you!The day is March 11th. I hobble into the hospital with my husband 20 minutes after my water broke while vigorously watching A Bronx Tale. 24.5 hours of labor and an emergency c-section later, I am blessed with my beautiful son... and the whole world shut down. I specifically had BIG plans for my skin after a seemingly never-ending pregnancy. My plan was to visit the dermatologist merely weeks after giving birth to get a professionally recommended skincare routine that could address my skin concerns both while I nursed and after I finished nursing. As a 5-year professional in the skincare industry, 9 months of a less-than-mild skincare routine and wildly rampant hormones left my skin sallow and spotty. Plans are always just that: plans. COVID left me quarantined at home with my newborn. He just turned 4 months old and I have yet to visit my dermatologist. Luckily, I was introduced to the Cherie app, specifically the Cherie Skin Care Report, which gives me a dermatologist grade skin analysis to assess the current status of my skin and provides a high quality list of product recommendations that can treat my concerns. Here’s how it worked for me: After hours of getting distracted with the amazingly curated news feed containing product recommendations, reviews, user questions and user generated answers, and so much more, I made my way over to the Skin Care Report. My report scored “Very Good,” which gave me quite the vote of confidence on a day that had my complexion feeling “blah.” The category reports were close to my initial predictions, and I was impressed with the product recommendations and array of resources available to help me navigate my skin conditions. As I mentioned above, I had to drop my hydroquinone routine like it was hot when I got pregnant, which left me smack dab in the middle of treating the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. So I started to use C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum recently, and I was really into Drunk Elephant products since early March. I like the fact that they use active ingredients in a pretty, non-toxic package. As a professional in the skincare industry, I learned that brands develop products that work best in conjunction with one another and in order to give a product lineup a fair analysis, it is imperative to stick with a consistent routine for 90 to 120 days. And I was very pleased to see that the C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum was the number 2 recommended product by Cherie users for dark spots! I have been using this vitamin c serum every morning since I returned from the hospital and have noticed my spots fading gradually (not as rapidly as they were fading during hydroquinone bleaching treatments, though this was to be expected). The Skin Care Report called out my large pores, particularly on and around my nose, which are a result of my olive, oily skin. The Jelly Cleanser and Glycolic Night Serum I am using were ranked in the top 10 product recommendations, which was another great indicator that I selected the right products for my skin conditions. Cause these two are exactly what I am sticking to!Within every section there were user generated reviews and product recommendations, which left me endlessly scrolling through extremely valuable user content. These days, I find it difficult to completely trust brand reviews located on brand websites and even more difficult to trust influencers with posts containing #ad recommending products. The reviews on the Skin Report tool are evidently organic, created by true users and advocates of the products they are using. My takeaways are as follows: ● The products I am currently using in my routine are adequate for my skincare conditions and ultimate skincare goals. ● The crows feet around my eyes could use some work, so I will be increasing my eye cream use to 3-4 times per week or daily. ● I saw Tatcha ranked top 10 in product recommendations multiple times, which validates my interest in trying a complete Tatcha routine after my Drunk Elephant sampling. I really like the Cherie Skin Report tool and plan to chart my skincare journey in the app with the Skin Journey tracker to chart my progress over time.

HOLY GRAIL SPF 🌞🌞🌞
Okay guys as I have said before I am guilty of rarely ever wearing sunscreen. I just never liked the feel of it on my skin. I always felt like it made me greasy & clogged my pores. However, once I heard about this product I was very intrigued. NIOD - Survival 30 It actually isn’t sold in the United States for some reason so I had to purchase it on a UK website. (Beauty Bay) It is an antioxidant serum with SPF 30. At first, it appears to be tinted but it’s actually not. On NIOD’s website they state: “The slight tinted appearance is derived from the active technologies including Lutein, Fractionated Melanin and Pycnogenol.” It blends in with your skin so easily & does not leave a white cast like some other SPF products. However this serum literally makes my skin tone soo even & perfect! It also contains silicone so it completely smooths over my pores. AND besides all that great stuff, it’s a mineral sunscreen! So it protects against environmental & lifestyle issues. Like UV rays, blue light, etc. I have never loved a product as much as this one! I literally cannot believe how good my skin looks while using this stuff! For a 30ml bottle, I paid $33 on the Beauty Bay site. For me, that is completely worth it! It comes in this adorable packaging & pretty glass bottle. It also has a pump dispenser & squirts out the perfect amount for a single use! I really can’t recommend this stuff enough guys! It’s wonderful!! @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick
At Home Exfoliating Facial ✨✨
So I recently received the Mimi Co Exfoliating Wand via IG PR. I couldn’t wait to do a full facial and I decided to do it tonight. Order: I purchased a steamer from Amazon for $23 and I’m obsessed with it (DM me for product info). I started with UpCircle - Cleansing Face Balm With Apricot Powder As my oil cleanse to get my sunscreen from today off and any other oils and dirts. INDIE LEE - Purifying Face Wash This cleanser is perfect for getting dirts and oils from skin as well. It’s not drying and it’s totally worth it! I paired it with a face cleansing scrub brush, I also purchased from Amazon. I love it and I paid around $20 for it as well! It doubles the vibration frequency put out by Foreo. CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask This was the mask I chose for the enzyme properties. This breaks down dirts and oils in pores and dead skin cells. I also steamed my face during this time. Follain - Toning Mist: Balance + Prime This was what I sprayed over my face for the prep for my exfoliating wand. I didn’t have a true medium and I am out of Aloe Vera plants so😭 I then exfoliated with my wand starting at my cheeks and working upward and then to my forehead. I went down and to the sides of my nose. Glow slow! innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion I used the toner to cleanse my skin and get any dirts left over from me exfoliating. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask I use this as my hydrating mask. I took the back of my Mimi Co Wand on switched to the Moisturizing Setting. I gently slid upwards my entire face for the last 2 mins only and then wiped the mask off with a damp cloth. earthtoskin - Tea Time Anti Aging Eye Cream This is the most hydrating eye cream I own. I used this with the back of my cleansing brush on the heat setting! Yes it made my eye feel so hydrated and relaxed. fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer This was the final step as a good moisturizer seals in everything! To prevent acne I use the SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil as my last step. I didn’t use an astringent type toner, so I wanted to still treat my skin💚
Clear Hydrated Skin The Clean Way✨
Staying in the trend of clean beauty, I have found an amazing product to add to my everyday routine. Odacité SKINCARE - Blue Aura Cleansing Water This is a cleansing water that is marketed to use in place of your cleanser for a “quick” clean. When looking for a good cleansing water, you want one that is hydrating and gets your face clean. Keep in mind not all cleansing waters are designed to clean makeup (I highly recommend a cleansing balm and cleanser). About This Brand: ✨Vegan ✨Cruelty Free ✨Certified Organic ✨ NO: Fillers | Parabens | Nanoparticles | Petrochemicals | PEG | Synthetic perfumes | Dyes | Phenoxyethanol. This cleansing water is so hydrating and satisfying to use. It smells very fresh and a little goes a long way. What is very important to me is my dry spot aren’t tight or irritated. I have been using this day and night and have seen amazing results acne and skin barrier wise. I included this in my routine after a regular cleanser and before my serums. So essentially, I use this as a “toner”. I do this to clean up anything my cleanse left behind, or the cleanser itself. INGREDIENTS: ✨Tumeric: Amazing for hyperpigmentation and overall skin brightness ✨Holy Basil: I drink the tea and can vouch this is an amazing adaptogen that can overall benefit every aspect of your life. It combats aging and free radical damage. ✨Neem: great anti aging ingredient that helps protects your skin barrier. ✨Aloe Vera Juice: this is great for your skin barrier overall. It hydrated, protects and brightens. I highly recommend this cleansing water and it is on sale for $9 at Boxycharm Pop Up 🥰🥰
Black Owned Makeup Look
So I decided to use the products I pictured in my first photo (minus my highlight shade and lipstick) I used the #Ace Beaute - Nostalgia Palette[products]#[FiveStars] for my entire eye look. I definitely enjoyed these products. My only advice is to shake the UOMA BEAUTY - Say What?! Foundation before use (because it can come out watery) but the coverage is absolutely flawless. I was shocked with the consistency the coverage I got. What’s your favorite black owned brands? (I do not own right to the song)
