Oribe: Aesthetic Luxury Hair Brand For the Hair Obsesseds
Jul. 1, 2020
For more than three decades, celebrity hairstylist Oribe has collaborated with the world’s top fashion photographers and creative directors to create iconic, trend-igniting looks. Oribe Hair Care began its journey in 2008. For co-founders Daniel Kaner and Tevya Finger, it was time to stand out in the market, and the perfect collaborator was Oribe Canales. Oribe Canales, known professionally as Oribe, was a Cuban-born American hair stylist. In the beginning, Oribe Canales felt strongly that his products should push the boundaries of performance. He wanted stylists and consumers to not just see — but feel — the amazing difference. The founders worked with science labs around the world to create personalized formulations that absolutely surpassed anything available in the market at the time.
Oribe glammed up celebrities around the world, from Jlo and Scarlett Johansson to Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford - he was at the top of his game in the industry. Unfortunately, Oribe passed away in 2018 from liver and kidney failure. Today his legacy lives on and Oribe is a best-selling, award-winning brand that has deep rooted connections with its consumers and has a huge celebrity backing too.
Oribe Hair Care features a collection of high-performance products that deliver on their promises and are unlike anything currently on the market. The brand blends craftsmanship, performance and decades of styling experience from the top salon worlds to create a new category in hair care. Back in 2008, the year Oribe the brand was born, you could find hair products either in salons or at mass retailers (think your average big-box store). There was no middle ground — and that's where the trio saw the potential for a new hair care brand.
The result is a line of luxurious products that is unique in every sense of the word: gels that actually condition, oils that truly hold, sprays that don’t flake, skincare-grade shampoos that prep hair for styling and gently balance the scalp, masques that have the richness and body of a lavish moisturizing cream. Each product is tested extensively backstage and on set to ensure that it outperforms everything else. While the products are ultra-high-tech, the formulations are clean and modern — formulated without parabens and sodium chloride. All the products are gluten-free, cruelty-free, color and keratin treatment safe and have UV protection for hair.
Oribe Hair Care was also the first to use a fine fragrance in its hair products. The brand collaborated with a legendary 19th-century perfume house to blend its signature fragrance, Côte d’Azur. The fragrance runs through the line to ensure a beautiful experience for the hair. The scent is a blend of bright Italian bergamot, white peach, and cedarwood. This was a strategic move to place the brand above the usual fruity or vanilla scents common in most hair-care products.
Not only is the packaging is so sleek and pretty that they look great on your insta feed and your dresser, but their products are also fantastic — so fantastic that Oribe has won Best of Beauty awards for their products including Oribe Shine Light Reflecting Spray, Masque for Beautiful Color, and Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray.
Recently they also released a small collection of hair accessories just as minimalist and architectural as the bottles themselves - including a gold-plated metal barrette and a hair pin that could even give your messy bun that celeb status.
Must try product - Gold Lust Repair & Restore Conditioner
The gold lust repair conditioner leaves hair feeling soft, shiny and ageless. Blending time-honored oils and extracts—cypress, argan and maracuja—with their revolutionary bio-restorative complex, this ultra-hydrating conditioner softens and revitalizes, smoothing each cuticle to undo the damage of time (and style). Perfect for those with breakage, color fade, and everything in between, Oribe Gold Lust Repair & Restore Conditioner infuses your hair with nourishment for a healthy look and feel.
Drunk Elephant- The Littles 🐘
I won this cute little kit in a raffle & I couldn’t be more thankful! I have always wanted to try these products but never wanted to spend the money on all of them incase I didn’t like them! Inside this kit are the following products: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 That’s literally a whole skincare routine! So far I started out my day with one of Drunk Elephants infamous “Face Smoothies” I washed my face with Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser & then combined C-Firma Day Serum, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, & Protini Polypeptide Cream together on my mixing trey with a disposable skincare spatula! I applied it all over my face & neck. Once that absorbed, I applied Umbra Tinte Daily Defense SPF 30 over my face & neck & was done! I love how the kit comes with steps to walk you through different routines you can use in the morning or at night! I will do a follow up review after I have used all the products for a few weeks! But so far, my skin feels & looks great! I have been breaking out lately & haven’t felt the best about my skin so I really needed this pick me up!! Thank you for reading! My Farewell To Cherie
Follow me on Ig for more skincare since Cherie is leaving 😭 @naturedskinv This has been an amazing journey and I’ve made soo many amazing friends. Thank you for all the love, conversations, and just overall happiness I’ve experienced on this app. I’m definitely sad, a little upset, and a dash of confused, but thank you @cheriefor giving me such an amazing confidence boost and guidance. The way the app shaped my thoughts on skincare has been insane. I’m still willing to forget this and call it a joke if y’all are! 😭 Anyways thank you again and hopefully we can stay in touch 🙏🏾
Wednesday Wellness 🙏🏾
This past week has been rather hard and long for me. I ultimately decided to get back on track with my wellness plan. My main wellness goal for 2021, is to indulge in myself more. I definitely am a firm believe in “as within, so without”. I started my day with: #Four Sigmatic - Mushroom Elixir Mix with Chaga[products]#[FiveStars] I have been getting back into adaptogen and herbal medicine. What we put into our bodies is just as important as what goes on the outside. Adaptogens are apart of ancient medicinal traditions traced all over the world. I also drink Tulsi “Holy Basil” Tea. If you need a pick me up or emotional boost I highly recommend! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil is my treatment of choice I used during the day. Do not be afraid to use salicylic acid during the day. I applied plenty of sunscreen afterwards as well! This is a GODSEND for clearing up acne and acne scarring. It’s by far the best acne treatment I’ve tried and its mostly due to the immediate results I get. This is a dry oil, so it should be used before a heavy moisturizer or sunscreen. THE BODY SHOP - Spa of the World Thai Makrut Lime Firming Oil is a staple in my night time routine. When I want to relax and really unwind I use a body roller with this oil. It smells like a fresh key lime pie and it’s so hydrating. This is great for firming, especially when paired with a body tool. What do you do for wellness?
Skin Barrier Skin Savior 🙏🏾
Thank you @cheriefor this amazing gift 🤩🤩 Something thing I am very particular about is my moisturizer. My skin barrier tends need the extra TLC and the best thing to give it is moisture. So when I look for a moisturizer I need something that gives me instant hydration and doesn’t clog my pores. So when I received the : BASE BUTTER - Radiate Face Jelly Aloe Vera Gel Face Moisturizer I was so excited! The Brand : ✨Black Owned ✨Women Owned ✨Cruelty Free ✨Non-Comedogenic ✨Vegan ✨Paraben Free 🔑 Ingredients : ✨Aloe Vera Juice ✨Shea Butter ✨Evening Primrose Oil Okay, as you can see your girl woke up DULL! The only thing I did for this video was wash my face and use this to show y’all the transformation! I was using this EVERY night but last night I used my acne treatment routine and your girl FELT THAT (salicylic acid can be so drying to my combo skin). What’s my favorite part? This baby doesn’t have a smell or heavy greasy feel, so it perfect year round! At $21 this is a DEAL ! (The line I used on my cheek covered the entire bottom portion of my face!) Have you tried this brand?
Black Owned Makeup Look
So I decided to use the products I pictured in my first photo (minus my highlight shade and lipstick) I used the #Ace Beaute - Nostalgia Palette[products]#[FiveStars] for my entire eye look. I definitely enjoyed these products. My only advice is to shake the UOMA BEAUTY - Say What?! Foundation before use (because it can come out watery) but the coverage is absolutely flawless. I was shocked with the consistency the coverage I got. What’s your favorite black owned brands? (I do not own right to the song)
