These hair care brands will give you professional salon results from the comfort of your own home
There’s nothing quite like having your hair done at a professional salon, but unfortunately, not all of us have the time or the money to make regular appointments. Luckily for us, however, there are some brands that started out in salons but are now available to buy elsewhere – meaning it’s easier, quicker, and cheaper to get professional-quality results without having to set foot outside your door! I’ve researched five of the best – be sure to look out for them when you’re next stocking up on your hair care products.
SACHAJUAN
The SACHAJUAN salon first opened in Stockholm in 1997, inspired by the founders’ ideas about how hair should feel, look, and move and their desire to make professional-quality hair care easy, affordable, and accessible for everyone. SACHAJUAN looks at hair in three dimensions: shape, surface, and structure, as each contributes to the finished style. Ingredients used in products are selected for purity and performance in particular, with two extracts from two cold water algae naturally harvested from the ocean included in most of the brand’s products: rhodophycea and chondrus crispus, both of which have fantastic normalizing and nourishing properties for the scalp and the hair. Formulated to remove dry dandruff and soothe irritated scalps, as well as reduce itching and increase moisture levels on the scalp, the Scalp Shampoo is the best-selling SACHAJUAN product.
PULPRIOT
Unless you’re a complete stranger to social media, it’s likely that you’ve heard of Butterfly Circus – the group of hair experts and stylists that have toured the US giving cutting, coloring, and styling social media classes. Well, now they’ve created Pulp Riot hair color – and it’s a game-changer. Its mission is to "empower stylists to think of themselves as artists while providing them with superior paint to create their masterpieces" – and with the number of Instagram followers now well over the one million mark, they must be doing something right. All Pulp Riot hair colors are 100% vegan, ammonia-free, cruelty-free, and powered with a key ingredient: quinoa. According to the brand, they’re easier to apply, more vibrant, last longer, and fade truer to tone compared with other salon-inspired hair colors. The Paint By Numbers Creative Kit is one of the bestsellers, which includes a total of five colors and everything else you need to create your own masterpiece of color.
Chaz DeanChaz Dean – the man himself behind the brand – believes in a natural, healthy lifestyle, so it comes as no surprise that his approach to hairstyling follows suit. All products are made with natural ingredients, and no bleach or developers with high levels of peroxide are included in any of the hair colors. The WEN® product line – which is one of the brand’s most popular – doesn’t include a shampoo; instead, the bestseller is the Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner, which helps to repair damage caused by products containing harsh ingredients such as sodium lauryl sulfate. While, according to Chaz Dean, traditional shampoos and conditioners can rob your hair of natural oils, leaving it dry, frizzy, and unmanageable, the WEN® line provides nourishment and hydration without weighing hair down – plus, it replaces shampoo and conditioner with a single product.
L'ORÉAL PROFESSIONNEL
There surely aren’t many people that haven’t heard of L’Oréal Professional – after all, it’s been a big name in the hair care and beauty industries for more than a century now, since it was founded by Eugène Schueller in 1909. Since then, it’s become one of the top cosmetics groups in the world, employing thousands of chemists and researchers throughout the world, all of which strive to provide the latest innovations in beauty and hair care. One of the best-selling products is the Instant Resurfacing Masque, which is designed to restore extremely damaged hair instantly. Its active ingredients are gold quinoa and protein, which help to reduce hair surface damage by approximately 77% and make hair up to seven times shinier – without weighing it down.

John Frieda
The John Frieda brand started more than 30 years ago with the opening of a salon in London; since then, it’s gained international status in the hair care and beauty industries for its line of incredibly successful products designed to target specific issues and achieve salon-quality results. John Frieda's first big seller was Frizz–Ease Serum, which was launched in the UK in 1989 and in the US two years later. It’s still one of the brand’s bestsellers to this day – after all, frizzy hair is as still much of a common issue now as it was back then!

cystic acne is a journey like no other. It’s unpredictable and frustrating. But, you have to celebrate small wins whenever possible. almost 2 weeks ago, I woke up with my cheek severely inflammed having sprouted a ton of cysts seemingly overnight. big, red, painful ones. unfortunately, my cystic acne is very much hormone, stress, and diet driven which makes it hard to manage at times. today, I can finally appreciate that I was successful in bringing the inflammation down. eight days may seem like a long time but in the world of cystic acne, that’s huge progress! It looks and feels so much more comfortable. if you use tretinoin, stick with it! I promise there is light at the end of the tunnel and while no day is perfect when you’re prone to cystic acne, it does get better. feel free to ask me all your cystic acne questions!

DON’T try these at home!
DON’T try these at home!
With so many self- proclaimed beauty gurus in the world today, it’s very easy to get sucked into the DIY trend. Most experts and skincare specialists will tell you these homemade concoctions are not as good as they are made to be. Here are 5 ingredients you should not put on your face and why. 1. Essential Oils- The fragrant portion of plants is what makes essential oils. Modern science has revealed how fragrant oils cause problems for the skin. In the long run components in essential oils can significantly irritate and damage the skin. 2. Lemon Juice 🍋- Lemons are extremely acidic, which will irritate your skin. You can experience excessive redness, dryness, and skin peeling. Using lemons on your skin can cause more damage then benefit to your skin. 3. Coconut Oil- This ingredient causes a lot of debate amongst my followers, but fact is a fact, coconut oil is highly comedogenic. This means that the oil clogs pores on your face. When you apply coconut oil to your face it lays on the surface and is not able to be absorbed into the skin due to its large molecules. It can cause breakouts, blackheads, and whiteheads. 4. Witch Hazel- Here is another debate stirring ingredient. A lot of my patients and followers swear by witch hazel because of its immediate results on absorbing oil on the skin. What they fail to understand that it is not only absorbing the excess oils, but it is also stripping your skin of its natural oils. This can be very damaging to your skin and it’s natural protecting barrier, causing unnatural sensitized and dry skin. 5. Toothpaste- Such a popular trend and so harmful to your skin. Toothpaste contains high levels of baking soda which will mess with your skin’s ph level. This can lead to redness and burning of the skin. Toothpaste is a horrible option for your blemishes and instead I would recommend THE inkey LIST - Succinic Acid Acne Treatment As tempting as it is to try natural remedies at home, do your skin a favor and resort to stabilized and researched ingredients and products.
Preserving My Curls Overnight
Preserving My Curls Overnight
This is how I preserve most of my hairstyles overnight! I hear many people complain about how their bonnet or scarf is always falling off their head and ending up on the floor once they wake up, I was having the same issue! That is when I decided to create a wrap that would stay on throughout the night while protecting your curls. I hand make them myself and sale on Etsy (link in my bio) if you are interested! 😊
