Briogeo combines the best of science and nature, to deliver powerful, naturally based formulas for all hair textures and types. "Brio" is Italian and means "vibrant and full of life" - representing not only the busy NYC in which the brand was born, but the considerate, lively and artistic packaging that you’ll find wrapped around each formula. "Geo" is a Latin word meaning "of Earth and nature," which represents the pure, yet strong ingredients behind each formula. Briogeo’s cult favorite products are not a secret—they’re the buzz everywhere! Beauty editors, influencers and consumers have fallen in love with their clean, high-performance hair care. Nancy Twine, CEO and Founder of Briogeo quotes: “We should treat our hair the same way we treat our skin; by nurturing it with ingredients that detoxify, hydrate, and protect.” Nancy also believes that “beautiful hair shouldn’t be compromised by harsh or harmful ingredients.”
Briogeo is absolutely inspired by New York City's vibrant culture and core values, which promotes an appreciation for individuality, positivity and authenticity. Their texture-specific products offer something for everyone – from repair, to volume, to caring for curls. All products are 90-100 percent naturally derived and their formulas are cruelty-free, gluten free and mostly vegan. Since honesty means everything to this brand, they include the exact percentage of naturally derived ingredients (and its origin) on the back of every bottle to make the labels as transparent as possible. Nancy’s products are proudly made with no harsh sulfates, no silicones, no parabens are cruelty free and ethically sourced.
Nancy Twine, is a veteran when it comes to her knowledge in the beauty industry– in fact, she made her first impression into the world of natural product creation at the age of just five. During childhood visits to her grandmother’s home in West Virginia, Nancy would assist her to create homemade hair care for the ladies in the small town. She moved to New York in her early twenties and transitioned from her homemade essentials for the store-bought variety, but quickly realized that the natural hair care on the market simply did not live up to its performance claims. So there it was, inside her East Village studio apartment and using her grandmother's trusted beauty recipes as well as strong scientific backing, Nancy founded Briogeo Hair Care. She takes it back to basics, offering a high-performance, hair care collection that is naturally based, yet performance driven to provide visible results.
Briogeo products include a proprietary blend of potent Natural Oils, Vitamins, and Antioxidants which are the basis for every product formula. They never use superficial ingredients and their products address immediate hair concerns while building the foundation for long-term healthy, nourished, and beautiful hair.
The brand has a strong following of 3.6k on Instagram and 2.4k on Youtube. The Briogeo website is incredibly user friendly and there's even a hair care quiz you can complete to find out their best product for your concerns. You can also earn rewards when you purchase Briogeo products or even just interact with their brand. Not only does the brand offer a wide variety of hair care heroes but it offers advice, tips and support to assist your hair care concerns. They’re also committed to local, national and international crisis’ and support where they can. Right now your order supports them in providing 100,000 meals to those in need through the Food Bank for NYC.

Textured Skin?? 3 Tried & Tested Products!
Textured Skin?? 3 Tried & Tested Products!
Up until I really started understanding🤔my skin and how certain ingredients work... I always had textured skin due to acne, blemishes and lack of regular exfoliation. Well here’s my experiences from lessons learnt throughout the years for all those people who are on the same boat as I once was.. I’ve learnt the key🔑to smoother skin is knowing the underlying issue and the reason behind your skin’s uneven texture and incorporating exfoliants in a regulated skincare routine. ⁣ When treating the uneven skin texture, you need to ask yourself whether or not you are using exfoliants (both physical and chemical)? If your answer is NO, then you have bumpy skin and you need to start incorporating an exfoliant into your skincare routine. Lactic acid is a good place to start as it suits all skin types. However, what really works for my skin type (oily/combination) is Salicylic acid. Be sure to start with an exfoliant by using once or twice a week and only take it up to using it 3 times a week. No more than this please ☺️ ⁣ If your answer is YES, then ask yourself:⁣ “How many times am I using the exfoliants and how strong are they?” If you’re using exfoliants more than 2 to 3 times a week and you still have bumpy/textured skin then there’s a high chance your skin’s barrier is not happy. Work on repairing and strengthening your skin barrier by using products geared towards providing hydration💦and moisturization. Periodically, exfoliating definitely will help improve your skin texture! Here are some of ⁣My Tried & Tested Products for bump-free skin: 1. GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder 2. PETER THOMAS ROTH - Peptide 21 Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads 4. dermalogica - Hydro Masque Exfoliant Follow & Glow! ✨ #cheriepartner ⁣ ⁣

Marula oil is extracted from the marula tree nut found in Africa. Benefits of marula oil: ✔️Rich in antioxidants- which help fight off free radicals from pollution and UV exposure. ✔️Anti-aging – the antioxidants also help with its anti-aging properties to help keep the skin looking youthful. ✔️Rich in fatty acids- (oleic and linoleic fatty acids) that soften and moisturize the skin. ✔️Lightweight - What’s great about marula oil is that it hydrates the skin and absorbs well without being too heavy or greasy. ✔️Immediate glow- I definitely notice my skin is radiating after I wear this oil. I love to use this instead of a moisturizer as a last step in my nighttime skincare routine, especially during the winter months! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil Drunk elephant - $72. yes the packaging is beautiful, but that price point is way too high. It only has one ingredient: marula oil. Why is it so expensive? It is likely due to the processing. It is cold pressed with a patented process of unheated extraction. It is unclear if this process is necessary to maintain all of the benefits of marula oil. The Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil Ordinary- $8. Also 100% cold pressed marula oil. The processing may be slightly different. The application is a little less light weight, and for this reason slower to absorb, but still blends easily into the skin and gives an immediate glow. Final thoughts: after trying both, I would choose the ordinary product because they are both so similar! What would you choose?

A Ph balanced cleanser is key for healthy skin! Why is the Ph of your cleanser important? First of all, you need to understand your skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body which we often forget and on the skin's surface, there is a fine and a slightly acidic film known as the acid mantle. The acid mantle is formed through the combination of epidermal lipids, sebum, water, urea and amino acids, giving the skin an acidic environment and a Ph of 4.6-6. The acid mantle acts as a barrier to protect the skin from harmful bacteria and viruses. The acid mantle also retains water in the skin, which supports hydration levels, prevent Transepidermal Water loss (TEWL) and gives us the dewy glow we all crave. ✨ The health of the skin is relying on a well functioning acid mantle and barrier. For optimum skin health, the acid mantle needs to stay between a Ph level 4.6-6, and your cleanser ideally should match it. Unfortunately, many cleansers are at ph levels 9-10 (more alkaline). Higher ph cleansers are still removing dirt and cleaning the skin, but they're also compromising the acid mantle's Ph, therefore, making the skin susceptible to bacteria, resulting in acne, irritation, eczema, inflammation, and dehydration. The acid mantle can recover, but it's not in the skin's best interest to use high Ph (alkaline cleansers) I recommend avoiding cleansers containing Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). SLS is a detergent and responsible for the lather and foam a cleanser produces and leaves the skin feeling squeaky clean. (Your skin should never feel squeaky clean.) SLS commonly found in cleansers, body washes, and shampoos. SLS, causes a cleanser to become overly alkaline, resulting in an unbalanced acid mantle and depletes the skin of its natural oils leading to irritated and inflamed skin. The skin starts to overproduce oil to compensate for what SLS has stripped away, which explains why the skin goes into a cycle of oily to dry because the acid mantle is repeatedly being compromised and in a state of imbalance, resulting in persistent skin issues. ✨Thankfully the skin is smart and will recover when given the right tools.✨ ✨Cleansing✨ I recommend cleansing the skin morning and night with a Ph balanced SLS free cleanser and always double cleanse at night as SPF and makeup stick to the skin along with pollution picked up throughout the day, so double cleansing is essential. My go-to for evening cleanser is #Dermaquest - Essential daily cleanser[products]#[FourStars] Dermaquest's Essential daily cleanser alongside my Foreo Luna cleansing tool - deets below.FOREO - LUNA Mini 2 Facial Cleansing Brush Fuchsia 🙅🏻‍♀️Try not to skip cleansing at night no matter how sleepy you are, sleeping with your makeup on goes far beyond clogged pores. Sleeping with your makeup on in the long term will prematurely age your skin due to the breakdown of collagen from environmental pollutants left on the skin. Keep reading in comments ⬇️
