It’s easy to stumble across popular beauty brands which have been formulated by makeup artists. But what about the lesser-known gems who have a cult following but don’t make the headlines? We did the research so you don’t have to! Read on to uncover our hottest finds.
MIILD
Dutch born Tanya and Tine were both make up artists with one problem in common. They were allergic to most makeup brands! Facing a big dilemma as they were able to paint the faces of their clients but not their own, they created Miild! Organic and allergy certified; their range is gentle on the skin as well as having sustainability in mind. The Miild Mineral blush is vegan and brightens up a dull complexion. It comes in four shades and lasts well on the skin.
HUDA Beauty
Launched by beauty blogger Huda Kattan, Huda Beauty was founded out of frustration. Working as a makeup artist, she just was not happy with the quality of false eyelashes on the market. She created her own and soon clients were asking where they could purchase them from. Now her empire has grown and includes skincare, makeup, fragrances and more. Her LEGIT Lashes Double-Ended Mascara is popular with her following. With two formulas and two brushes, it delivers long-lasting, matt-black lashes which are lengthened and lifted. For Huda, lashes are the epitome of femininity which is why she developed this product, so that her customers can have the confidence to ditch the false lashes.
Real techniques
Samantha and Nicola Chapman are the sisters who came up with Real Techniques, a beauty brand which focuses on make up tools for the perfect application! Their professional makeup brush sets allow you to use what the pro’s have in their essentials kit. Their Flawless Base Set collection is of a good quality and affordable too. It comes with a contour brush, detailer brush, buffing brush, square foundation brush and brush cup to keep all of your items organised. Result!
Makeup Geek
Marlena considers herself a ‘makeup educator’ rather makeup artist. Her passion is teaching and her goal is to make you feel beautiful. She started Makeup Geek as a way to express her passion and love of makeup. Makeup Geek is cruelty free and also has vegan products which are listed on the site. It has a fun feel and aesthetic, reminding us that makeup should be creative and a joy. Their Power Up Bundle palette has bright and bold pigments, designed to stand out and be noticed!

💜This is a recent Tatcha haul I scooped from Sephora with my VIB discount & saved up points, but I definitely placed an order today on tatcha.com to take advantage of their 20% off sale. Such a good time to purchase from Tatcha! I grabbed a couple old 5 star favorites like the Gold Spun lip balm & their Japanese blotting papers, as well as some other things I’ve been wanting to check out. Tatcha is actually an American brand, made in Japan🇯🇵, that adheres to Japan’s official safety & purity standards, one of the highest in the world, much stricter than the US (for more on that, check out my last post, or the 2015 documentary on Netflix called Stink) They were recently acquired by Unilever, so I hope they don’t ever change their standards! Tatcha sources all of their botanical extracts, ingredients & actives from plants grown in the most renowned provenances of Japan. 🍵🍚🌊Their formulas revolve around key ingredients Green Tea, Rice & Seaweed, the trinity of superfoods, rich in both nutrients & Japanese history, based on a Japanese document from 1813 which captured the beauty rituals of the time. ➕Their 2x fermented ‘Hadasei-3 complex’ yields over 85 actives like Enzymes, Minerals, Lactic & Amino Acids. It’s been a couple years since I’ve purchased Tatcha products, I’ve always loved their face creams, but we all know Tatcha is pricey!!! I think I was just always into moving on & trying something new, but oh how I missed them! I haven’t had as much luck with Tatcha cleansers in the past, I do adore their rice polish exfoliators 🍚 but personally was never a fan of the ‘One Step Camellia cleansing oil’ scent. I don’t think I’ve ever tried ‘The Deep Cleanse’ but I’m actually most excited to try their new cream cleanser: ‘The Rice Wash’🍚💦 I was also excited to finally try ‘The Silk Peony melting eye cream’ too, so this set was a no brainer! TATCHA - Pure & Glowing Trio set: $72 The ‘Pure & Glowing Trio’ set includes: a full size 1.7 oz Dewy Skin cream ($68) a 1.7 oz Rice Wash cleanser (full size is $35/4 oz) & 0.17 oz Silk Peony eye cream (full size $60/.5 oz) 🍬For now I’m just gonna share texture swatches & ingredients, but stay tuned... I’ll be rating everything in full review of every product coming soon! 💧TATCHA - Balanced Skin Duo The other products pictured are minis from a ‘Sephora Beauty Insider’ 300-point option that included: one mini ‘The Deep Cleanse’ 0.85 oz & one mini ‘The Water Cream’ 0.34 oz TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser Full size: $38/5 oz TATCHA - The Water Cream Full size $68/1.7 oz 💜In the meantime, check out that sale! And tell me your favorite Tatcha product(s) in the comments... or tell me about the ones that didn’t work for you!
🚨 Natasha Denona Glam DUPE! //$65 vs. $14
🚨 Natasha Denona Glam DUPE! //$65 vs. $14
Happy Saturday Cherie Sisters 👯‍♀️ 💕 I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I have been loving cool toned eyeshadows lately. I think they are the perfect tones to wear during fall and winter time so I purchased my first Natasha Denona product and got the glam palette. I fell in love with the color story and can see myself reaching for this palette often. So far the eyeshadows feel so luxurious. They are pigmented and I can do a look with just one dip. They blend themselves too so doing a look isn’t too time consuming. NATASHA DENONA - Glam Eyeshadow Palette When I saw that Colourpop announced their That’s Taupe collection, I knew I had to get the eye palette because it looked very similar to my glam palette. I wanted to do a comparison so you guys can decide if you need to spend $65 for the Natasha Denona one. So far these are up to par with Colourpop quality. The eyeshadows are pigmented and they included a couple super shock formula on the palette. These are great quality for the price. #Colourpop - That’s Taupe[products]#[FiveStars] So the Colourpop palette isn’t a complete dupe to the ND one, but there are some shades that are really similar to each other. Once blended on the eye, you can hardly tell the difference. The only difference between the two is the quality. The ND palette was pigmented after one dip and blended quickly. I had to dip 3-4x in the CP pan to match the pigmentation for the ND one. It also took time blending it out. Overall, the end results are the same, but it took half the time to work with the ND palette because it was much easier to work with. If cool-toned eyeshadows aren’t you your alley, but still want it on your collection, I say stick with CP. also if you don’t mind spending the extra time building up the color and blending then save the $51 difference. If you are someone who is looking for quality then definitely go for the glam palette. This will save you time and you won’t use as much product because it’s so pigmented. Do you prefer cool tones or warm tones? Xoxo, Francesca 💋
💁🏻‍♀️My Go-To “Extra” Makeup Look 💁🏻‍♀️
💁🏻‍♀️My Go-To “Extra” Makeup Look 💁🏻‍♀️
Alright so a lot of people may have an everyday makeup look, but do you have an everyday EXTRA makeup look??? Well, here’s mine… It’s the perfect mix between glamorous and natural which I loveeee. I also think it’s a pretty achievable look and there aren’t too many crazy techniques you need to use in order to get it either. So I’ll start with the eyes, it’s just the foxy smokey look that’s been trending all over social media. I use tons of neutral and brown colors to achieve a more natural and smokey effect. The important thing is to build up the dark browns and black eyeshadow. For the fox eye effect, I like to use a piece of tape to get it really sharp. The trick is to always start with the lighter colors and blend up to the black. Also, line your waterline and inner corner with a black pencil to make it look even smokier. Next up, we got the lips. It’s the staple red lipstick but with a dark twist. I personally don’t think bright red lipstick complements my skin tone so I love adding a bit of brown. I use NYX soft matte lip creams to achieve this and the main lippie colors are “Madrid” and “Berlin”. You can add a lip gloss if you prefer, honestly, any clear gloss works. I like using Too Faced Lip Injection Plumping Lip Gloss for that pounty look hehe Last but not least, the freckles!!! This is a small element that ties everything together. It’s what makes it look a lot more natural and effortless. Don’t forget to also use some blush to make your freckles look more realistic, but my method for drawing freckles is with brown eyeshadow powder on a brush. And that’s pretty much all to it! Looks kinda complicated but actually pretty simple and great for any occasions you want to look a bit more extra for!! #CheriePartner

This is full coverage, transfer resistance and last up to 15 hours. I love this foundation because it still feels light weight on the skin despite being a full coverage foundation. • Go for a full coverage long lasting concealer. I always use my HG concealer which is the tarte - Shape Tape Concealer •Contour is a must! Since that it’s dark, your face tend do look flat so this will give you dimension. I love using my Fenty Match Stix. • I use my most blinding highlight at night. This will help you look like you’re glowing especially in the moon light. I love ARTIST COUTURE - Diamond Glow Powder •Set your face with URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Ultra Matte Makeup Setting Spray. This baby will keep your makeup intact all night! 🖤BROWS •I usually love a natural brow on a daily basis, however I love having snatched af brows when I go out. I use ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade and only reach for this on special occasions. This will give you IG and bad bishhh brows •Set brows with benefit - 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gelto make sure it stays and won’t budge. 🖤EYES •I love using cool toned and dark eyeshadows. I used NATASHA DENONA - Glam Eyeshadow Palette •Tightlining your waterline with black pencil and smoking it out is a must! This will make you look like a sultry goddess. I used Milk MAKEUP - Long Wear Gel Eyeliner •Dramatic falsies will definitely catch everyone’s eyes! I used my house of lashes in the style Mon Cherie 🖤LIPS •Keep the attention on your eyes so wear a neutral lip color. I used Colourpop’s Lippie liner in cool BFF and topped that with ultra glossy lip on rattler. Both are from the that’s taupe collection. I hope you find this helpful! What is your favorite go-to look when it comes to special occasions? Xoxo, Francesca 💋 #CheriePartner
