Dutch born Tanya and Tine were both make up artists with one problem in common. They were allergic to most makeup brands! Facing a big dilemma as they were able to paint the faces of their clients but not their own, they created Miild! Organic and allergy certified; their range is gentle on the skin as well as having sustainability in mind. The Miild Mineral blush is vegan and brightens up a dull complexion. It comes in four shades and lasts well on the skin.
Launched by beauty blogger Huda Kattan, Huda Beauty was founded out of frustration. Working as a makeup artist, she just was not happy with the quality of false eyelashes on the market. She created her own and soon clients were asking where they could purchase them from. Now her empire has grown and includes skincare, makeup, fragrances and more. Her LEGIT Lashes Double-Ended Mascara is popular with her following. With two formulas and two brushes, it delivers long-lasting, matt-black lashes which are lengthened and lifted. For Huda, lashes are the epitome of femininity which is why she developed this product, so that her customers can have the confidence to ditch the false lashes.
Samantha and Nicola Chapman are the sisters who came up with Real Techniques, a beauty brand which focuses on make up tools for the perfect application! Their professional makeup brush sets allow you to use what the pro’s have in their essentials kit. Their Flawless Base Set collection is of a good quality and affordable too. It comes with a contour brush, detailer brush, buffing brush, square foundation brush and brush cup to keep all of your items organised. Result!

It has a fun feel and aesthetic, reminding us that makeup should be creative and a joy. Their Power Up Bundle palette has bright and bold pigments, designed to stand out and be noticed!

Today’s Ulta haul!!!!✨🥳
Hi all! Today I ventured off to Ulta in search of a new moisturizer! If you saw my last post, then you know that I’m currently searching for a new one, as my most recent product just didn’t do it for me :( I was desperate for something super hydrating, so I ended up with the Murad - Nutrient-Charged Water Gel! I have heard nothing but amazing reviews about this, and considering every Murad product i’ve ever used has yet to fail me, I thought i’d give it a try As for first impressions, this gal was PRICEY... not even gonna lie... but I was in the market for a new product willing to spend a little more than usual so I thought why not? It’s ok to treat yo self here and there 😉 But this cream is so THICK! It only took about a fingertip worth of product to completely coat my entire face comfortably, which is definitely what I want in a product! My skin gets so dry during this time of the year so lathering is key! It sunk into my skin effortlessly and i SWEAR my skin feels baby soft after one use! The only thing I’m a little weary of is that it has the slightest fragrance, however, my skin has never been extremely sensitive to that kind of stuff, unless it was like overly artificial. But this is a light, flowery scent that definitely smells natural and I can’t wait to keep using it! I also received a free Murad gift Murad - Free Intense Recovery Cream Deluxe Sample With Brand Purchase with the purchase and i’m excited to see what it does! Tbh not even sure of its actual use but I’ll try it out as an eye cream and see if it does anything 😂 My lack of sleep lately has definitely shown so i’ll try anything to get rid of my eye bags! While I browsed, I also came across the highly acclaimed COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, which I constantly see on Cherie, as well as any K-Beauty skincare forums! I bought it to see for myself what the rave was all about! I finally feel comfortable in my new routine so I thought it would be a perfect time to add a new step! I’ve used essences in the past and it always made my face feel soft and supple! I’ve heard that this is more of a preventative product for anti aging, so I probably won’t see much of a physical difference anytime soon, but I’ll try anything as long as it’s safe for my skin! I’ve learned so much while being on this app and I’m excited to experiment with new products! I never thought i’d be putting snail mucin on my face if you would have told me a year ago, but here I am!😁🐌 Lastly, I also picked up some peach slices - Acne Spot Dots. These have always been lifesavers for me when I have to wear a mask for a long period of time, and since my classes are going to resume again soon, that means the mask stays on for several hours at a time 🥲 Thankfully I have no active breakouts atm, but it’s always nice to have a stack of these bad boys whenever I need them!
Which moisturizer is right for my skin type?
A little bit of moisturizing a day keeps the dry skin away! Moisturizing is crucial to a healthy skin barrier. All 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀 help with dry skin. Yet, not all moisturizers are created equal. So, how do you choose the 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿 for your skin? I am breaking it down today for #WinterSkinReliefDay. In general, 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀 provide a little bit of water to the skin and contain a greasy substance that holds it in. 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀 are formulated in 𝟯 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: ✅ 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: greasy/oily and block the evaporation of water from your skin. 💦 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀: pull water into the top layer of your skin both from the air and from deeper layers of the skin. 🧖🏾♀️ 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: not really moisturizering but rather to make the skin feel smooth by replacing absent skin the lipids and oils to fill in all the cracks on the skin, helping smooth out the surface of your skin and repair your skin’s barrier. Here is a cheat sheet to help you select the appropriate moisturizer for your skin. 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 📅 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆, regardless of your skin type. Even oily skin needs moisturizing every day with the right type of moisturizer. Please avoid moisturizing reactively, aka moisturizering 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 when your skin is dry. 🚿 Always apply to 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻. P.S I keep my moisturizer in my shower to apply right after I towel off gently. 🔑 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿. This is key for the winter 🥶 months. You need both a humectant which draw moisture to the skin and occlusive ingredients which keep water from evaporating off of your skin. 🌓𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿. This is really important in the winter if you are using humectant heavy moisturizer. The dry air can pull the water out of your skin. Sounds crazy right? 🚫𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. Even if you do not have sensitive skin. Fragrance and coloring are just a set up for possible irritation/allergy and no one has time for that. 🦶🏾 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗸. They too need some TLC. #skincaretips #moisturizer #skincareroutine #skincareproducts #dermatologist #dermatology
NEW FIND! And I’m pleasantly surprised!?
It was time to get a new moisturizer. I was currently using the HONEST - Hydrogel Cream paired with the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer , RADHA BEAUTY - Rosehip Oil , and timeless SKIN CARE - Squalane Oil 100% Pure because I have pretty dry skin. I love both of those moisturizers (although I’m not fond of all the Paula’s choice Omega+ complex moisturizer ingredients, but I loooooove the texture and feeling of it ) and love my oils (I won’t stop using the oils), but knew I needed a richer cream and also wanted to keep it down to just one cream, for time and my bank accounts sake. So if you’ve seen my last post, I was deciding between 3 brands but I couldn’t decide and was also nervous to try a new moisturizer, even though I knew I needed one, because I’m also acne prone so a new moisturizer to me was just terrifying lol. I was about to just get my usual HONEST - Hydrogel Cream because I knew it didn’t break me out and I like it a lot, although not quite as moisturizing as I need, it was on the safer side and I can’t imagine going a day without a moisturizer on this Sahara desert of a face!!! But then I discovered this brand I’ve never seen before? It’s called Awake Human. It’s not even a listing on Cherie for me to add the product! I read the ingredients and was intrigued (scroll through pics to see ingredients list), but because of my fear of new moisturizers, I was hesitant.. but I decided to bite the bullet because the ingredients looked amazing, was cheaper than Paula’s choice and the honest beauty’s moisturizer, but had the same amount of product. I received it a few days ago and I am in love!!!!! Soooooo rich and creamy and hydrating feeling, and it had the same smooth, rich, texture as the Paula’s Choice omega moisturizer, that I love so much!!! It comes in a nice little pump type of packaging, which I like. Keeps bacteria and gunk out. If you scroll through my pictures, you’ll see it. And a little bit goes a long way! The picture you see of the product on my fingers is the amount I use, but you can totally use less, especially if you have more oily or normal skin. I just like a lot of moisturizer! Lol I’ve noticed my face is much less dry feeling and looks smoother with less texture. I will keep you updated, but I think this is my new fave!!!! I’m so excited lol. Here the link the purchase: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NWXJYVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_YHI-Fb9BRJKT0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 If you’re hesitant but intrigued like I was, I strongly encourage you to just try it. And if it happens that doesn’t work for your face, because remember, everyone is different and skincare is not a one size fits all, then it would most definitely be a really really nice hand cream, that would fit nicely in your bag. Have you heard of this brand before? And if so, have you used anything from them?
My tips for a perfect Dip Powder mani
I love nail dip powder, but it has been a harsh learning curve Here's some of my tips What I have found most helpful is realizing that dip base is essentially super glue. That's why it dries so fast. And also why you do need to be precise and *always considering cross contamination*. I'm pretty sure this is the only reason why brands offer 3 steps, its just to have less mingling between powder, activator and base as it runs the product. All brands are pretty much the same (except glitter formulas) so dont need a fancy starter kits, just base and activator. These glitters are from Sparkel and Co I use the sprinkle technique instead of dipping. If you sprinkle the powder off a spoon, you are less likely to smudge the base coat. You can very lightly dip the tip in after to make sure its covered. Covering the tips in gradual thin coats works best to prevent cracking. Thick nails last longest. Use a brush to Lightly brush off excess powder. You want to wait at 30sec. Dip base expands as it dries, so after each coat you may find your skin and your nail have fused underneath. try not to get any on your skin, especially under the nail for this reason / just wipe it right away/ unstuck it. clip off any big chunks of excess powder with cuticle cutters before going to next coat Take your time on the powder coats, you can do multiple strokes, get it perfect. I do first coat on both hands first, so I can freely dip as I'm just applying to bare nails. *Now that you move on to second coat, you need to start wiping your brush off on paper towel before returning it to the bottle. * You dont want any powder or activator in your bottle. I use clear coat as well as 2+ coats When you do the 1st coat of activator, use a lot. Then activate your whole second hand so it gives the first hand's activator time to dry Then use a drill on 1st hand to perfect outline or ridges. I find this the easiest way to get a perfect shape but I usually use a file as well to even everything out. I usually dont buff the surface much. I will then wash and properly dry my 1st hand. Activate 1st hand again and make sure under the tips are covered and let it dry while you drill, wash and activate the second hand. My best tip for getting the top coats drying time perfect is using the, one finger, then back a finger technique. Once you paint 1 nail dont touch it and move on to the second. Then, go back to that first nail and second coat it while it's still fresh. Then do a first coat on nail 3, then go back and 2nd coat nail 2, etc. You want to do the first coat in limited strokes, and then take your time with the second coat. Then do the same process on your second hand. Then just let it dry. I'd say it needs minimum 4 mins and as long as 10mins to fully cure. Once its cured, its cured, so go on with your day and enjoy as theres no such thing as soft dip nails. If you do muck up the top coat, don't worry you can easily buff it back to shiney later no problem.
