🇫🇷 5 Makeup Brands French Girls Adore: Get That French Girl Beauty

Jun. 18, 2020
Are you desperate to emulate the effortless look of French girl beauty? Or perhaps you’re a Francophile seeking to add to your cosmetics collection?
You’re in the right place. My review covers five makeup brands beloved by French women.
These are the top 5 French-girl-approved makeup brands:
  • Yves Rocher
  • Nuxe
  • M.A.C.
  • Lancôme
  • Guerlain
  • 5 Makeup Brands French Girls Praise—Allons-y (Let’s Go)!
There’s no doubt that the French embody beauty: the phrase Parisienne chic exists for a reason. I round up five makeup brands French girls actually use, and why you might want to try them out.
    1. Yves Rocher
Yves Rocher is an old-school French makeup brand that has been around for decades. I mean that literally: it was founded in 1959.
The company claims one in three French women use its products. However, it has no famous faces behind yet—although Sarah Jessica Parker is a fan of their moisturizer.
Yves Rocher has a massive range of products to choose from at affordable prices, which is great.
Although products do contain botanical ingredients, it isn’t wholly organic.
Consider Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Ultra-Volume Mascara, infused with carnauba wax to add extra volume.
    2. Nuxe
Nuxe has become a cult favorite in France—it offers plenty of enticing merchandise for committed beauty addicts.
The name is a combination of natural and luxurious—two French girl beauty essentials. They’re all about harnessing the power of beneficial ingredients such as honey and rose petals.
This cosmetics line is also eco-friendly, non-toxic, and avoids animal-derived ingredients. All products are made in France if you want another layer of authenticity.
Lastly, Nuxe doesn’t test on animals.
For a glowy-fresh look, you can try Nuxe Huile Prodigiuese Or, which basically translates into phenomenal golden oil.
    3. M.A.C.
In case you didn’t know, M.A.C. stands for “Makeup, Art, Cosmetics.” This popular makeup brand is a hit across the globe—including among French beauty fanatics.
Parisienne star Jeanne Damas used M.A.C. brow gel in a tutorial on French girl beauty. Plenty of big names have collaborated with the cosmetics line, including elegant actress Catherine Deneuve.
Other collaborations of note include Mariah Carey and Rihanna. Plus, M.A.C. is color-diverse: there are palettes to suit all skin tones and types.
For a classic-yet-tasteful French look, I suggest M.A.C. Retro Matte Ruby Woo.
    4. Lancôme
Lancôme has more celebrity endorsements than Beverly Hills. Amanda Syefriend, Zendaya, Lupito Nyongo-o—the list goes on.
This is another French luxury cosmetics brand that has been around forever: since 1935, to be exact.
Lancôme started out as a fragrance brand but evolved to sell skincare and makeup products too. Their motto is that happiness is the most attractive beauty, which I can totally get behind.
French girl beauty is all about the basics—lashes, lips, dewy-fresh-skin. Take a look at Lancôme Monsieur Big Volume Mascara to make a statement.
    5. Guerlain
Guerlain is the oldest French cosmetics line on my list: it was founded in the 18th century. The company stayed in the family until it was sold to fashion master Louis Vuitton.
Although Guerlain has an impressive lineup of perfumes, they also sell cosmetics. They also recently implemented an eco-friendly sustainability strategy.
Now, be warned, this high-end rand won’t be kind to your wallet.
Still, you can indulge yourself to get a few necessities to follow the same routine as our gorgeous European counterparts.
I would try the mischievously-named Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Natural Perfection Foundation. That translates into “lingerie for the skin,” by the way!
The Final Verdict: Oui ou Non?
These makeup brands French girls love are definitely worth checking out. Before you pick your new fave French brand, make sure it fits your values and budget.
Remember that French girl beauty is all about tasteful simplicity. Don’t go OTT with makeup or colors.

    Wednesday Wellness 🙏🏾
    Wednesday Wellness 🙏🏾
This past week has been rather hard and long for me. I ultimately decided to get back on track with my wellness plan. My main wellness goal for 2021, is to indulge in myself more. I definitely am a firm believe in “as within, so without”. I started my day with: #Four Sigmatic - Mushroom Elixir Mix with Chaga[products]#[FiveStars] I have been getting back into adaptogen and herbal medicine. What we put into our bodies is just as important as what goes on the outside. Adaptogens are apart of ancient medicinal traditions traced all over the world. I also drink Tulsi “Holy Basil” Tea. If you need a pick me up or emotional boost I highly recommend! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil is my treatment of choice I used during the day. Do not be afraid to use salicylic acid during the day. I applied plenty of sunscreen afterwards as well! This is a GODSEND for clearing up acne and acne scarring. It’s by far the best acne treatment I’ve tried and its mostly due to the immediate results I get. This is a dry oil, so it should be used before a heavy moisturizer or sunscreen. THE BODY SHOP - Spa of the World Thai Makrut Lime Firming Oil is a staple in my night time routine. When I want to relax and really unwind I use a body roller with this oil. It smells like a fresh key lime pie and it’s so hydrating. This is great for firming, especially when paired with a body tool. What do you do for wellness?
    At Home Exfoliating Facial ✨✨
    At Home Exfoliating Facial ✨✨
So I recently received the Mimi Co Exfoliating Wand via IG PR. I couldn’t wait to do a full facial and I decided to do it tonight. Order: I purchased a steamer from Amazon for $23 and I’m obsessed with it (DM me for product info). I started with UpCircle - Cleansing Face Balm With Apricot Powder As my oil cleanse to get my sunscreen from today off and any other oils and dirts. INDIE LEE - Purifying Face Wash This cleanser is perfect for getting dirts and oils from skin as well. It’s not drying and it’s totally worth it! I paired it with a face cleansing scrub brush, I also purchased from Amazon. I love it and I paid around $20 for it as well! It doubles the vibration frequency put out by Foreo. CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask This was the mask I chose for the enzyme properties. This breaks down dirts and oils in pores and dead skin cells. I also steamed my face during this time. Follain - Toning Mist: Balance + Prime This was what I sprayed over my face for the prep for my exfoliating wand. I didn’t have a true medium and I am out of Aloe Vera plants so😭 I then exfoliated with my wand starting at my cheeks and working upward and then to my forehead. I went down and to the sides of my nose. Glow slow! innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion I used the toner to cleanse my skin and get any dirts left over from me exfoliating. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask I use this as my hydrating mask. I took the back of my Mimi Co Wand on switched to the Moisturizing Setting. I gently slid upwards my entire face for the last 2 mins only and then wiped the mask off with a damp cloth. earthtoskin - Tea Time Anti Aging Eye Cream This is the most hydrating eye cream I own. I used this with the back of my cleansing brush on the heat setting! Yes it made my eye feel so hydrated and relaxed. fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer This was the final step as a good moisturizer seals in everything! To prevent acne I use the SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil as my last step. I didn’t use an astringent type toner, so I wanted to still treat my skin💚
    Skin Barrier Skin Savior 🙏🏾
    Skin Barrier Skin Savior 🙏🏾
Thank you @cheriefor this amazing gift 🤩🤩 Something thing I am very particular about is my moisturizer. My skin barrier tends need the extra TLC and the best thing to give it is moisture. So when I look for a moisturizer I need something that gives me instant hydration and doesn’t clog my pores. So when I received the : BASE BUTTER - Radiate Face Jelly Aloe Vera Gel Face Moisturizer I was so excited! The Brand : ✨Black Owned ✨Women Owned ✨Cruelty Free ✨Non-Comedogenic ✨Vegan ✨Paraben Free 🔑 Ingredients : ✨Aloe Vera Juice ✨Shea Butter ✨Evening Primrose Oil Okay, as you can see your girl woke up DULL! The only thing I did for this video was wash my face and use this to show y’all the transformation! I was using this EVERY night but last night I used my acne treatment routine and your girl FELT THAT (salicylic acid can be so drying to my combo skin). What’s my favorite part? This baby doesn’t have a smell or heavy greasy feel, so it perfect year round! At $21 this is a DEAL ! (The line I used on my cheek covered the entire bottom portion of my face!) Have you tried this brand?
    Black Owned Makeup Look

So I decided to use the products I pictured in my first photo (minus my highlight shade and lipstick) I used the #Ace Beaute - Nostalgia Palette[products]#[FiveStars] for my entire eye look. I definitely enjoyed these products. My only advice is to shake the UOMA BEAUTY - Say What?! Foundation before use (because it can come out watery) but the coverage is absolutely flawless. I was shocked with the consistency the coverage I got. What’s your favorite black owned brands? (I do not own right to the song)
