Cherie is an online community of beauty lovers sharing their stories; whether that's their favorite products, makeup tutorials, or skincare routines. Download the app today to be a part of #BeautyWithoutBarriers and show the world what beauty means to you! Some may not know that the “d” in Pride stands for “Drag Queen”. For Cherie.com, I talked to four queens who shared what products give them their superpowers and why Pride holds such an important meaning for them this year. Mayhem Miller For Mayhem Miller, Pride is about self-expression and being with like-minded people. “Pride has always been important to me because I found my family there,” Miller told Cherie. When asked about what products they use to help them fill their best in drag? “It's got to be my lashes. I piece them together myself. I'm very expressive with my face so having them makes my transformation complete.”
HUDA BEAUTYFaux Mink LashThe VixenFor The Vixen, Pride is about reassurance. “For me, Pride is the assurance that I'm good,” she says. “It's the assurance without a shadow of a doubt that I know that I am coming from a good place. That I am putting good into the world.” When asked about what products make them feel most powerful when they hit the stage, Vixen shared, “it's always my gold eyebrow liners. That's something that I feel naked without. And I also always have a good set of jewelry. I feel like I'm one of those queens that always has on an earring, bracelet, and a good necklace.”RavenFor Raven, Pride is about showing love for those who came before us. “For me, Pride is a feeling of reverence,” she states. “It's about knowing that it has taken many MANY years to get to where we are today and that we have so much further to go. It's about honoring those who fight for our rights and honoring those who did not get to live the way we do today. It's about paying tribute.” When I asked about what products help them feel their best and their transformation, they shared it's all about the makeup. “My makeup is number one!,” she shared, “after that everything falls into place and looks great. As long as you have a great application of makeup… you really can't mess anything else up. RIGHT?”Coco Peru Coco Peru has always made sure that her career was rooted in pride. For Peru, Pride is about acceptance. “For years I was so ashamed and literally disgusted with myself,” Peru shared, “but pride is about how I'm supposed to feel every day of my life and what I've been denied, what I've denied within myself.” When talking about the products that make them feel they’re best she noted, “it's got to be my press on nails. In fact there's a photo someone took years ago, a photographer had asked if he could come backstage and take photos of me in the process of getting ready and I said sure. And they are just photos of my hands. I'm applying the nails in a one hand it looks so masculine and the other hand looks so feminine. It just captured why I love my nails so much. It also captured who I've always felt that I am this mixture of male and female energy.” Latrice RoyaleFor Latrice Royale, Pride is a lifestyle. “it's about celebrating all the things that built up your DNA,” Royale says. “Pride is a way of life and not a one time thing. It's not just a one year celebration kind of situation. Pride is about the collective community.” When asking about what products make her feel large and in charge, she said it’s all about Sugar Pill. “Sugar Pill cosmetics are my favorite. They have the best statements for eyeshadow blush art. Like you can move in it. It's all multifunctional. Like you can use your blush that highlights your shadows, all for different things.”

Eye Cream Is NOT A Hoax!
There is no hoax about eye cream. I’ve been seeing a lot of misinformation about how eye cream isn’t needed or it is just overpriced moisturizer. Sadly this is the spread of uneducated opinions not backed by the proper background in cosmetic chemistry. One of my goals as a Licensed Esthetician? Skin Fitness Expert, and now Cherie Creator is to empower you all to make educated decisions about your skin health and wellness by wiping away the lies and taking the BS out of the beauty industry with simple nerdy posts like this one backed in science. Let’s go ahead and chat facts about the eye area, eye creams, and how this all works so you can make your own decisions on whether eye cream is for you or not. FACT: The skin around the eyes isn’t like the rest of the face. It has no pores. FACT: Pores are the primary way that products are delivered aka get into the skin. FACT: Delivery systems are high tech skin science. They are like the SpaceX of skincare. Anyone can put products on the top of the skin. It’s the company that can get those products ingredients delivered to the exact place they needs to go without damaging anything along the way or having them lose potency that’s a rock ⭐️. FACT: Since the skin around the eyes doesn’t have pores to get product through it needs high tech science 🔬🧬 and ingredients to work on the eye area. FACT: Eye Creams are formulates especially for delivery to the eye area to repair eye issues. FACT: Eye creams aren’t miracle workers. They don’t fix genetic problems like bags, dark circles, etc. They can improve their appearance. OPINION: You may want to skip eye cream for some genetically predisposed things like dark circles which are often caused by pooling blood, poor circulation, shadowing of the upper brow ridge, and diet and try other solutions first. OPINION: Hydration can help your eye area look better! This means any moisturizing will help. Drinking more water💦 applying basic moisturizer will hydrate the top layers of the skin and make them appear better. Understand the deeper layers are not improved. It’s a temporary fix and isn’t repairing or stopping future damage. FALSE: Moisturizer is just as good around the eye area as specially formulated eye cream. TRUTH: Regular moisturizer will not penetrate the eye area skin. It will stay on the orbital bone or in the top dead layers of skin superficially as just hydration. But it most likely won’t repair anything more deeply. Specially designed delivery systems are needed to get into a pore-less area like the eyes. TRUTH: Crows feet don’t need special eye cream. This is where there’s a lot of misinformation! Wrinkles on the sides of the eyes, outside the orbital bone, is regular skin So nope you don’t need special cream per say. 😘 #cheriecreator #eyecream #anti-aging #eyeareaconcerns
MY DAYTIME SKIN
FACEWASH COMBO ⬇️ Curology - The Cleanser MIXED WITH DR ORGANIC Aloe Vera Hydrating face wash -This combo is great because I am using my Curology acne fighting face wash but mixing in a little bit of the aloe face wash leaves my skin feeling really clean! The Curology face wash is not a lathering face wash rather then a formula that almost gets absorbed so quick into your skin that you can’t even rub it in. I don’t like that so I mix it with my Dr. Organic and get a sudsy lather going! The aloe wash is one of those facial washes that requires not a lot of product. It creates a nice foamy texture once you activate it. Anyway this face wash combo is nice and doesn’t not strip my skin from any moisture or make me break out. Love! DR ORGANIC- HYDRATING ALOE MICELLAR WATER ⬇️ I bought this on a whim while I was shopping online at Ulta! I love putting this on right after I cleanse my face because I feel like it’s getting my skin nice and extra hydrated and ready for all of the other products that I end up putting on! TONER ⬇️ ANDALOU NATURALS - Firming Toner, Coconut Water, Quenching This toner smells good and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. I don’t think it does much for my skin though. If you other Cheries have any toner suggestions I’m totally open for your shares. Comment to let me know what you like to use a a toner! ACNE TREATMENT ⬇️ Curology - Curology formula Look at my previous posts about Curology! MOISTURIZER TRIO ⬇️ Curology - The Moisturizer Look from my previous post about Curology! ANDALOU NATURALS - BB Argan Stem Cell Benefit Balm, Clear Skin, SPF 30, Un-Tinted, 2 fl oz (58 ml) This SPF is THICK and leaves a WHITE mask over your face no matter how much or little you put on. I don’t like the consistency of the texture of the formula from this lotion. I do feel like it really is protecting my skin and it doesn’t leave a greasy finish. I am using this product because I am almost done with it anyway. I will NOT be repurchasing this product though because I have tried way better facial SPF’s. dr.organic - Aloe Vera Gel Maximum Strength I LOVE mixing this with my Curology lotion and SPF because again. Aloe is great for keeping your skin hydrated and plump. Aloe fights any kind of scaring so I feel that adding the aloe gel to my skin routine acts like a shield from getting bad or any acne scars!!! This formula is very light and a little sticky but does not leave your face feeling tacky. I love how cooling and refreshed it has your skin feeling too! AM SERUM ⬇️ TRULY - Hemp Oil Facial Serum This. Is. My. 4th. Bottle. Purchased.!!!! I will say nothing more than that... EYE CREAM ⬇️ Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado Look for my previous review post for this eye cream! I love love love this eye cream! Thanks babes & stay safe 🍒
Charlotte Tilbury’s Setting Powder Can’t Hang?
**I’ve only used this product once so this is my first impression of it I have been an admirer of Charlotte Tilbury’s products for quite some time now and have been dying to try its Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder. As its name suggests, it has a reputation of making the skin look airbrushed and free of shine, which I need in my life. More deets about the powder: This breathable, micro-fine powder technology gives you an immaculate complexion that acts like a luxe, micro-fine cashmere veil on top of your skin for a bright, perfecting finish. Rose wax and almond oil hydrate the skin throughout the day and enable the powder to blend on flawlessly, while reducing shine. Nourishing actives work to soothe and restore skin, while light-reflecting ingredients diffuse light as it hits your face for a luminous complexion and even finish all day. The powder costs $45 which i think is a lot so I’ve always been hesitant to try - but I got as a gift for my bday and was so excited to try. I haven’t really found a powder that I truly liked or that has actually kept my makeup locked in/prevented shine. My review: The airbrushed effect is no joke. When I first applied it, I was in awe of how smooth and radiant my skin looked. But as the day progressed, my T-zone got a bit oily and I noticed the product had caked into some dry spots — also does anyone have suggestions for hydrating primers/how to not make my foundation/powder cakey? Since I started using prescription retinol it’s been so hard to figure out!! I have to keep using this product to see how I feel about it. I really want to love it. As anyone tried it?!
Expensive💰=Effective✅? For Chantecaille, my answer is...
Anti-aging is always my concern. The Chantecaille Diamond Series features anti-aging ingredients including hexapeptide and plant extracts. I've tried several products for a long time and some of them really surprised me. CHANTECAILLE - Bio Lifting Serum+ Besides peptides and plant extracts, it also contains hyaluronic acid, so besides tightening and restoration, it also helps in moisturizing and trapping water. It has a gel-like texture and is easily absorbed by the skin when one whole dropper is used each time. It's also lightweight but moisturizing, which might be a little sticky for oily skin but suitable for dry skin in spring, summer, and fall. It does a great job at maintaining skin stability, and since using it, my skin has remained radiant even when I stay up late or the seasons change. If you need an SOS serum, this might not make the cut, but if you want a product providing you with a comprehensive anti-aging effect, you won't go wrong with this. CHANTECAILLE - Bio Lifting Cream+ This upgraded version of the lifting cream has a higher concentration of its active ingredients, enhancing the lifting and tightening effect while providing an anti-inflammatory and recovery effect, so even people with sensitive skin can use it. It has a soft, lotion texture with a runny consistency. A small amount is sufficient for the entire face, but it's slightly oily, so people with oily skin might find it a little greasy and it can't be easily absorbed. I could visibly notice its tightening effect after finishing a whole bottle, and it did reduce my expression lines and dry lines, especially smile lines. My skin looks plumper now and my smile lines have also been filled out, so I'll definitely repurchase it. CHANTECAILLE - Stress Repair Concentrate+ Eye Cream Its ingredients include hexapeptide and wheat protein for fighting wrinkles and reducing fine lines, caffeine for reducing puffy eyes, and finally plant extracts for reducing pigmentation. It has an average texture which spreads easily, but it's nothing special. It's oily, and feels like it balls up when first used, also creating a warming sensation around the skin of my eyes which irritates my eyes a little. Besides reducing puffy eyes, I don't see it doing much else so I don't think it's worth its price and I won't repurchase it. CHANTECAILLE - Bio Lifting Mask Directions: After cleansing, apply it evenly on your skin for 10-15 minutes, then wipe it off (no washing required) and follow-up with your usual skincare routine or just use it as the last step of your skincare routine. The most visible effect of this lifting mask is the brightening of skin complexion. It can be used as an SOS mask after staying up late, allowing you to wake up to smoother and more delicate skin. The skin radiance and tenderness can last for up to a few days. When there are signs of inflammation of your skin, such as swollen pimples, this lifting mask helps to soothe your skin and get rid of acne while effectively reducing dry lines. It's suitable as a regular anti-aging treatment or an SOS face mask. It is more easily absorbed compared with a normal face mask and it doesn't stain pillows. CHANTECAILLE - Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask The lifting mask focuses on anti-aging but this healing mask focuses on moisturizing and soothing, and is more suitable to use in dry weather, during season change, and for repairing sunburned skin. If you have sensitive skin and are not looking for anti-aging, but rather moisturizing, maintaining skin stability, improving skin redness, etc., then it's good value for money. The Chantecaille Diamond Series is not cheap, but most of its products can be used by people with sensitive skin, balancing anti-aging and skin restoration. Are you a fan girl for Chantecaille? What's your fav anti-aging skincare products?
Night Owl must have: eye patches 🦉
One thing everyone in real life knows about me is I don’t get sleep. Whether it’s staying up all night (once upon a time my bed time was 5 am - 12 pm. Oof) or just physically not being able to fall asleep it can still take a toll on your skin. When asleep our skin takes the time to properly repair itself. When you don’t get enough sleep it can have negative effects like depleting the moisture levels in your skin giving it a dull look. One thing I like to do to help combat that is eye patches. Eye patches have long been a favorite spa night product for me but recently I realize how much they can help in the morning while I was getting ready. For me they add a cooling effect to the skin which can help depuff the under eyes before make up application. I also really like them because most have glycerin which will help add that hydration back into the delicate under eye area that wasn’t replenished throughout the night. The ones pictured above all include caffeine which helps the look of puffy eyes, soothes, and has antioxidant properties. Also, I love using them as shadow shields for make up fall out. It’s so easy to pop them on while I’m doing my eyeshadow. It multitasks by saving me time in the morning while depuffing and protecting my skin from eyeshadow fallout. (For reference I usually do my eyeshadow before I do my base. I wouldn’t recommend doing this on top of foundation). My absolute favorite are the PETER THOMAS ROTH - Cucumber Hydra-Gel Eye Masks 60 Masks . Between the cucumber and caffeine these do the best at hydrating and depuffing my under eyes in morning. Though retailing at $52 for 30 pairs it is a bit pricy. My next runner up is the pixi - Detoxifeye which retails for $24 for 30 pairs. I do want to give a special shout out/wanting to the GOOD MOLECULES - Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches retailing at $18 for 30 pairs. While I do really like the depuffing effects I get from these I noticed every time I wore these and did my concealer it would pill up. I would recommend these to people who don’t wear make up but if you do I would be cautious. If you wanted to try these I would make sure you do a good job at making sure no excess serum is left over before make up application. I always end up using these at night for that reason which defeats the purpose of using them to depuff the eyes in the morning.
