[...] The third picture shows the difference of me using the serum for about 2 weeks, as you can see there’s a dramatic difference in my redness. I still do struggle with acne so this product won’t necessarily cure your acne but will help with inflammation and redness. I have gone through a whole bottle and just received my new one, a definite repurchase! Definitely recommend this product for anyone struggling with acne or just redness and texture. Very smooth to apply and leaves a nice glow to the skin.If you have redness, try Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
Everyone has a favorite product. This one is definitely mine!✌🏼🌸 Picture 1️⃣ was taken 2 months ago when I first started using it Picture 2️⃣ was taken this past weekend. Both pictures were taken right after I got out of the shower (peep my stylish hair towel 👀) . . @theordinary really makes amazing products and I wish I knew about this one years ago! Read more below and comment with your favorite product! ⬇️ . . What is Azelaic Acid? ▪️it’s a dicarboxylic acid which are usually used to treat rosacea by decreasing the swelling and redness of the skin Benefits of Azelaic Acid: ▪️reduces the appearance of blemishes and redness ▪️brightens skin tone ▪️reduces skin texture (something most people don’t consider) If you have dark circle, try Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
#The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG[goods]#[FiveStars] LOVE this product 😍 This is The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution! Caffeine constricts blood vessels to reduce discoloration under the eyes. Also, EGCG is derived from green tea and has anti-inflammatory properties. Glycerin is an ingredient in most moisturizers and will help keep the undereye area hydrated. This product is targeted towards people who have darkness in the hallows of their eyes. This product will help address that pigmentation making you look more awake. I love this product because it really works! The key ingredients are amazing and effective. I love how the solution glides effortlessly on the undereye and can be layered underneath other eye creams. All you need is a drop for each eye with this product so it will last a really long time. I love the results of this product and I’m not even half way through the bottle! I especially like how these ingredients can be used on all skin types. Since this is an undereye treatment, caffeine should work well no matter what skin type you have!If you have dryness and dehydration, try Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
[...] Since I’ve always had a great experience with The Ordinary products, now this is my go-to solution when I want to try out something new. I’ve used different products with hyaluronic acid before, but the concentration was probably too low to really notice any changes. This serum from The Ordinary has 2% concentration and combines three types of hyaluronic acid molecules. The first thing you notice about this ultra-pure serum is the liquid, watery texture. This makes it incredibly easy for me to apply it on the face, neck and cleavage. I use the serum twice a day, in the mornings and evenings, after cleansing and before other serums or creams with a thicker consistency. I’ve started noticing the results within weeks, the skin looks definitely plumper, fuller, which is really amazing for such an affordable product. For me, it also seems to regulate my sebum production, as my face is not as oily as it used to be, but maybe this is just my experience. All in all, hyaluronic acid is definitely worth it, so I plan to use it regularly from now on and maybe associate it with other moisture retaining ingredients.
If you have fine lines, try Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion

A next/generation stable retinoid active that is designed to reduce signs of aging (dullness, uneven texture, fine lines, wrinkles). It is okay for all skin types, I find this extremely gentle! I personally use this as an eye serum then layer on a thick eye cream after. I have a few fine lines under my eyes and I would say this hasn’t help a ton, but I do feel like they are less pronounced than they were before. If you want to slowly start using a retinol product, this product or many other ones from the ordinary would be an awesome place to start!!! Also, as always, TO products are so affordable. $9.80 for 1 oz. 👏🏻If you have dark spots, try Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%
I'm sure like most of you, there are very few products that make a real difference for me overnight, and have earned high status in my skincare repertoire as repurchases and "holy grail" items. This Vitamin C, has. 🤍 Literally overnight I see a significant reduction in dark spots. After 5 days, my skin is smoother, more even, and has a glow. 🤍 Some important things to know about this product: It's quite strong. Like all products please patch test on yourself and start out slow. I love mixing this with my collagen serum to dilute it a bit. If you are new to acids, I would not use this on night when you are using a strong acid exfoliator if your skin is not used to strong products. If you're an avid acid user, I still would not double up this with an acid more than 1x/week. It will sting if you have any breakouts or open wounds. Sometimes this even stings a bit when I use it after an exfoliating mask. Again, start slow. This is not a daytime Vitamin C. The texture is oily and a bit gritty. I don't mind this at all at night but don't recommend this during the day. How I apply: Cleanse➡️toner or essence➡️Vit C + collagen serum➡️[wait 5+ minutes to let it absorb bc like I said it's a bit oily]night cream or oil. I've been using this in my routine for years now and I highly, highly recommend. For me, it's perfect to use every few weeks or so, whenever I've had some breakouts or spots that need fading, or before a big event to really improve my skin's tone. The best part, it's so affordable and lasts so long.If you have uneven skin tone, try Glycolic acid 7% toning solution
[...] 💨lastly, i’ve been reaching for the glycolic acid 7% toning solution, strictly for my PM routine. glycolic acid effectively removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the complexion, reveals brighter, smoother skin & more. i love love this toner bc it gently exfoliates my skin, but it’s also not drying & moisturizing. def will forever keep purchasing this product.⠀ 🌬if you have not tried the ordinary, highly recommend that you do. i’m def looking forward to trying out more products from the brand. 😬
What it means to blowdry down the hair cuticle!
Let’s simplify what it means when a hairstylist says to blow dry down the hair cuticle: When you think of your hair, think of the shingles on a roof. They’re all laying down but on top of each other. The cuticle of our hair is doing the same! When we blow dry up or at the hair cuticle, it causes all those little shingles to stand up- causing frizz, loss of moisture, and hair damage. When we blow dry down the hair cuticle, all the shingles can lay flat against each other and be the protective barrier that they’re supposed to be. If you’re having trouble with extra frizz or loss of moisture pay attention to the direction that your blow drying. This could make all the difference!
Cleanse your skin like a pro
Cleansing is the first step of any skin regime, and it's essential to your skin's health that it is done correctly. Cleansing the skin removes makeup, sunscreen, and impurities/pollution built up from the day. Always use a Ph balanced cleanser to avoid compromising your skin's barrier. I generally switch out my gel cleanser for milk or balm in the winter months as my skin becomes drier. I find milk or balms more hydrating and soothing for the skin. My go-to right now is BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - Lait Vip O2 Oxygenating Milk Cleanser paired with either the mini glove Biologique Recherche or the Luna Cleaning tool FOREO - LUNA Mini 2 Facial Cleansing Brush Fuchsia to aid deeper cleaning and increase blood circulation while massaging the skin. Try not to skip cleansing at night no matter how sleepy you are, sleeping with your makeup on goes far beyond clogged pores. Sleeping with your makeup on in the long term will prematurely age your skin due to the breakdown of collagen from environmental pollutants left on the skin. Always cleanse your skin twice at night. Double cleansing is key in removing makeup and sunscreen effectively. Makeup and sunscreen are designed to stick to the skin, and one cleanse just not going to cut it. Use colder water, never hot water to cleanse your skin. Heat is not your skin's friend; it can cause tewl (transepidermal water loss), lead to irritation, dehydration and sensitivity. Avoid cleansing the skin in the shower, the water is generally too hot, and the shower's pressure can lead to burst vessels. Pat dry, do not aggressively rub your skin with a towel - I hear too many times people rub their skin aggressively with a dry face cloth to exfoliate the skin - stop it. Be gentle with your skin; there are better ways to exfoliate your skin - trust me. Which moves me on to P50 lotions BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - LOTION P50 PIGM 400 Follow your cleansing routine with the correct P50 lotion for your skin type. P50 lotion is a gentle but effective way to exfoliate, hydrate the skin while maintaining the skin's Ph and respecting its barrier function. My go-to P50 right now is Pig400 which also targets hyperpigmentation concerns. Which moisturizer is right for my skin type?
A little bit of moisturizing a day keeps the dry skin away! Moisturizing is crucial to a healthy skin barrier. All 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀 help with dry skin. Yet, not all moisturizers are created equal. So, how do you choose the 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿 for your skin? I am breaking it down today for #WinterSkinReliefDay. In general, 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀 provide a little bit of water to the skin and contain a greasy substance that holds it in. 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀 are formulated in 𝟯 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: ✅ 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: greasy/oily and block the evaporation of water from your skin. 💦 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀: pull water into the top layer of your skin both from the air and from deeper layers of the skin. 🧖🏾♀️ 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: not really moisturizering but rather to make the skin feel smooth by replacing absent skin the lipids and oils to fill in all the cracks on the skin, helping smooth out the surface of your skin and repair your skin’s barrier. Here is a cheat sheet to help you select the appropriate moisturizer for your skin. 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 📅 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆, regardless of your skin type. Even oily skin needs moisturizing every day with the right type of moisturizer. Please avoid moisturizing reactively, aka moisturizering 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 when your skin is dry. 🚿 Always apply to 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻. P.S I keep my moisturizer in my shower to apply right after I towel off gently. 🔑 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿. This is key for the winter 🥶 months. You need both a humectant which draw moisture to the skin and occlusive ingredients which keep water from evaporating off of your skin. 🌓𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿. This is really important in the winter if you are using humectant heavy moisturizer. The dry air can pull the water out of your skin. Sounds crazy right? 🚫𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. Even if you do not have sensitive skin. Fragrance and coloring are just a set up for possible irritation/allergy and no one has time for that. 🦶🏾 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗸. They too need some TLC. #skincaretips #moisturizer #skincareroutine #skincareproducts #dermatologist #dermatology
