Chels33's Story of Using A New Routine
May 25, 2020
I was on accutane for 4 months in 2019, and I thought I found the cure for my acne. Unfortunately, I started breaking out again in February of 2020. My breakouts went back and forth, but either way they left me with more PIE (Post Inflammatory Erythema aka those RED/PINK marks leftover from acne) My skin was also insanely dry and painful!! Any face wash I used just burned and irritated my skin even more! I think I found my new go to routine! It’s pretty simple, but after only 2 weeks I am satisfied with the products so far. Of course they don’t create miracles, but I don’t have any current breakouts (which I’m surprised my skin didn’t purge), my skin is MUCH more hydrated, and I feel as though my PIE looks slightly lighter! I started with the Saturday Skin Rise + Shine Purifying Cleanser, then use the Banila Co Dear Hydration toner to help with my acne, follow it with the Aromatica Rose Absolute First Serum, and finish it off with the Mizon Snail Recovery Gel!2. Jenny's Story of Simplifying Her Routine
What I found most effective was simplifying my routine and sticking to the bare essentials to let my skin BREATHE. Slathering on expensive products and a million different products wasn’t doing anything for my skin (or my wallet). I got the CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin for my AM/PM cleanser, found a simple toner, and a reliable moisturizer. At night, I would apply Curology formula and this was a GAME CHANGER. My formula is: Clindamycin 1% Azelaic acid 8% Tretinoin 0.018%3. Relpixela's Story of Trying A Pimple Patch
In my opinion, these are the best patches for low visibility—meaning they work the best if you’re trying to hide the fact that this patch is sucking liquid out of a pimple. You still see that it’s working, but it doesn’t have the crazy power that the PEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots do. You can tell that they are there, but they stay put all day and have even SURVIVED ME WASHING MY FACE!! You heard that right!! When I use them, I pat the pimple and the surrounding area with a cotton swab to suck up any excess product or oil so that the patch sticks better. I usually wear them overnight but I have worn them for over 12 hours some days. After one or two patches my pimple is usually well on its way to healing up!4. BettyBeth's Story of Using A Zit Stick
I hate showing my acne so I hope you guys will appreciate my pictures through this process! Quarantine has been rough but my zits DID NOT help. So, being the huge fan I am, I used this Zit Stick. The results? Well, you can see for yourself! There is an INSTANT redness reduction just minutes after applying! After a morning and nightly application for a few days, my acne was finally going away ON ITS OWN! No popping was necessary!! Thank you Glossier for this wonderful Zit Stick. It may have just saved my skin😁5. SavanaRaelyn's Story of Trying Mix & Match
So for those who have sensitive skin I would try it cause it may work for you. But I used all three product on separate days, mainly at night. I waited each 24 hours to see if I got a reaction. I put it small amount on my jaw line. So make sure you do that just to be cautious to your pretty face. There is a disclaimer YOUR SKIN WILL BE DRIED IF YOU DON’T USE A THICK MOSITURIZER . This is my routine for Tuesday and Thursday only at night : I washed my face with a cleanser, toner then I applied 4 drops of the aha peel leave for 5 minute and wash it off. Do not rub it when applying the aha . Just apply it with light stokes. After i put niacinamide over the aha peel add moisturizer and that is it. ( I use niacinamide 5 days out of the week) Saturday: Cleanser, toner, lactic acid, niacinamide and moisturizer. That’s it ! This is my 2nd week using the products and I see a huge difference!6. Kiera's Story of Overcoming Different Types Of Acne
Okay, here are some details on my skin journey! 🤗 So I’ve been through like 3 different kinds of acne over the last 4-6 months. I went from what I thought was Milia around last Oct-Dec. Then I went through hormonal acne around Jan-March. I knew this because I started getting cystic acne, especially around my chin. That led me to a dermatologist, prescribing Spiranolactane, which I stopped taking at the end of March when I didn’t think I needed it anymore. Lastly, I’ve been having some respiratory problems and had to take Amoxicillin for a week. I also changed my skincare routine. And ever since the beginning of April, my skin is FINALLY clearing up!7. Glowwitherin's Story of Learning A Valuable Lesson
Time will give you results. Trust in your skincare routine, don’t switch it up so desperately like I used to. Be patient and gentle with your beautiful skin because it can only take so much. I started over moisturizing and hydrating to fix my barrier, switched to a much more gentle exfoliator and a retinol that doesn’t dry the sh*t out of my skin. And look! It’s working! So instead look to nourish the skin instead of a quick fix and I think you’ll be okay 😘😘Isn't it refreshing to know that with a little research and optimism, your acne doesn't have to get you down! Using the right products, implementing a suitable skincare routine, and leaving the rest to time, acne will be a distant memory. Besides that, having acne once in a while is a normal part of life. We're true believers that self-confidence makes you beautiful from the inside out.

NEW FIND! And I’m pleasantly surprised!?
It was time to get a new moisturizer. I was currently using the HONEST - Hydrogel Cream paired with the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer , RADHA BEAUTY - Rosehip Oil , and timeless SKIN CARE - Squalane Oil 100% Pure because I have pretty dry skin. I love both of those moisturizers (although I’m not fond of all the Paula’s choice Omega+ complex moisturizer ingredients, but I loooooove the texture and feeling of it ) and love my oils (I won’t stop using the oils), but knew I needed a richer cream and also wanted to keep it down to just one cream, for time and my bank accounts sake. So if you’ve seen my last post, I was deciding between 3 brands but I couldn’t decide and was also nervous to try a new moisturizer, even though I knew I needed one, because I’m also acne prone so a new moisturizer to me was just terrifying lol. I was about to just get my usual HONEST - Hydrogel Cream because I knew it didn’t break me out and I like it a lot, although not quite as moisturizing as I need, it was on the safer side and I can’t imagine going a day without a moisturizer on this Sahara desert of a face!!! But then I discovered this brand I’ve never seen before? It’s called Awake Human. It’s not even a listing on Cherie for me to add the product! I read the ingredients and was intrigued (scroll through pics to see ingredients list), but because of my fear of new moisturizers, I was hesitant.. but I decided to bite the bullet because the ingredients looked amazing, was cheaper than Paula’s choice and the honest beauty’s moisturizer, but had the same amount of product. I received it a few days ago and I am in love!!!!! Soooooo rich and creamy and hydrating feeling, and it had the same smooth, rich, texture as the Paula’s Choice omega moisturizer, that I love so much!!! It comes in a nice little pump type of packaging, which I like. Keeps bacteria and gunk out. If you scroll through my pictures, you’ll see it. And a little bit goes a long way! The picture you see of the product on my fingers is the amount I use, but you can totally use less, especially if you have more oily or normal skin. I just like a lot of moisturizer! Lol I’ve noticed my face is much less dry feeling and looks smoother with less texture. I will keep you updated, but I think this is my new fave!!!! I’m so excited lol. Here the link the purchase: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NWXJYVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_YHI-Fb9BRJKT0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 If you’re hesitant but intrigued like I was, I strongly encourage you to just try it. And if it happens that doesn’t work for your face, because remember, everyone is different and skincare is not a one size fits all, then it would most definitely be a really really nice hand cream, that would fit nicely in your bag. Have you heard of this brand before? And if so, have you used anything from them?
Trying to find the culprit... HELP!
Ever since I’ve added these two new products, I’ve noticed a couple new breakouts in places i’ve never experienced!!! They are red painful pimples too. Two on my forehead (I never get them there) , one on the outside of my nostril (i never get them there either), and the weirdest singular pimple on my NECK! Both of these products I have used on my face and neck, however, I’m not sure what product or ingredient is causing the sudden breakout!! Or is it just purging??? Help!!!!!! Did anyone else experience this with these products??? COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Murad - Nutrient-Charged Water Gel
Cleanse your skin like a pro
Cleansing is the first step of any skin regime, and it's essential to your skin's health that it is done correctly. Cleansing the skin removes makeup, sunscreen, and impurities/pollution built up from the day. Always use a Ph balanced cleanser to avoid compromising your skin's barrier. I generally switch out my gel cleanser for milk or balm in the winter months as my skin becomes drier. I find milk or balms more hydrating and soothing for the skin. My go-to right now is BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - Lait Vip O2 Oxygenating Milk Cleanser paired with either the mini glove Biologique Recherche or the Luna Cleaning tool FOREO - LUNA Mini 2 Facial Cleansing Brush Fuchsia to aid deeper cleaning and increase blood circulation while massaging the skin. Try not to skip cleansing at night no matter how sleepy you are, sleeping with your makeup on goes far beyond clogged pores. Sleeping with your makeup on in the long term will prematurely age your skin due to the breakdown of collagen from environmental pollutants left on the skin. Always cleanse your skin twice at night. Double cleansing is key in removing makeup and sunscreen effectively. Makeup and sunscreen are designed to stick to the skin, and one cleanse just not going to cut it. Use colder water, never hot water to cleanse your skin. Heat is not your skin's friend; it can cause tewl (transepidermal water loss), lead to irritation, dehydration and sensitivity. Avoid cleansing the skin in the shower, the water is generally too hot, and the shower's pressure can lead to burst vessels. Pat dry, do not aggressively rub your skin with a towel - I hear too many times people rub their skin aggressively with a dry face cloth to exfoliate the skin - stop it. Be gentle with your skin; there are better ways to exfoliate your skin - trust me. Which moves me on to P50 lotions BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE - LOTION P50 PIGM 400 Follow your cleansing routine with the correct P50 lotion for your skin type. P50 lotion is a gentle but effective way to exfoliate, hydrate the skin while maintaining the skin's Ph and respecting its barrier function. My go-to P50 right now is Pig400 which also targets hyperpigmentation concerns. Preserving My Curls Overnight
This is how I preserve most of my hairstyles overnight! I hear many people complain about how their bonnet or scarf is always falling off their head and ending up on the floor once they wake up, I was having the same issue! That is when I decided to create a wrap that would stay on throughout the night while protecting your curls. I hand make them myself and sale on Etsy (shop name is Candee Wraps) if you are interested! 😊
