You're telling me that these 2 gummies, or these two softgels, will get my skin glowing? The idea seems too good to be true, especially when you add in the fact that payoff for taking supplements isn't instant. As a beauty editor, I try a LOT of different products, all in the ever elusive quest for beauty. And let me tell you, supplements really do work. The secret really lies in choosing what works for YOUR body along with choosing high-quality products. Before we get into which supplements every woman needs in her routine, let's go over some quick tips for anyone looking to start (or improve) their vitamin intake. 1. These are supplements, which means they supplement your diet and don't replace it. Make an effort to intake nutritious foods and supplements will amplify your health. 2. Take supplements with a meal, unless otherwise noted! 3. If you're trying a new supplement, track your urine to see if your body is absorbing the nutrients. Whenever our body has an excess of a vitamin or mineral, your urine becomes a very bright yellow. This means your body isn't absorbing anything because it thinks it has too much of it. It was through this knowledge I learned that my body wasn't absorbing B12 in a pill form, so I switched to a softgel multivitamin and it worked. 4. Consult your physician before taking new supplements. If you have any preexisting conditions and have concerns, consult your doctor before starting a supplement regimen. Biotin & Evening Primrose Oil for Beauty Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, is responsible for converting food into energy—making this a key player in our metabolism. Because it's processing our food into energy, it's also helping in maintaining balance in our gut and a healthy gut = healthy skin. Think about your overall health as a reflection of your systems working, with a key system being elimination and detoxification (gut health). If your gut is operating smoothly, your skin will be too! Where to find it: Many foods are rich in biotin including eggs, almonds, cauliflower, and spinach, making biotin deficiency a rare occurrence. Adding a biotin supplement in your routine can help boost your hair, skin, and nail health. Evening Primrose Oil is rich in omega-6 fatty acids and really amazing in helping moisturize your skin from the inside out. For anyone who has dryer than normal skin or skin conditions like eczema, evening primrose oil can be a saver. I personally take this supplement to help with my eczema and it's really helped with keeping it under control. Omega-6 is an essential fatty acid, typically found in fish, that has been shown to aid in heart health and skin health. What makes evening primrose oil great is that it is a plant-based source for omega-6. Where to find it: Evening primrose oil is in a category of its own, but foods like fish, nuts, corn, and soybeans contain omega-6. Multivitamin & Iron for Overall HealthMultivitimans fill in where your diet comes short. Taking one can help help ensures all your essential vitamin needs are met. If you're just beginning your vitamin regimen, it's smart to start with a multivitamin every morning. It will get you used to the idea of taking them regularly and you'll only have to take one a day. Iron helps general immune system support, increased energy and digestive process. Note that iron supplements should only be taken if you've been advised and prescribed by a doctor! Most iron for women should come from our foods. Where to find it: chicken, seafood, lentils, tofu, dried fruits like figs and apricots

Tips from a derm for exercise induced acne
Tips from a derm for exercise induced acne
With a new year comes resolutions, many involving healthier lifestyles and exercise. So why let exercise induced acne hold you back from achieving these healthier choices. Exercising can cause excessive sweating-leading to increased oils, dirt, friction, and even bacteria on your skin leading to acne. This can manifest as facial or truncal acne (think backne), often known as acne mechanica or folliculitis. Cleansing properly is incredibly important for preventing exercise induced acne. It’s important to remove all makeup prior to working out. Gently shower with lukewarm water immediately after sweating. If a shower is not available, reach for a cleansing wipe. Clean, loose-fitting moisture wicking attire is key. This helps prevent friction and additional bacteria and sweat from dirty clothing. In addition to wiping down all gym equipment, don’t forget about the stuff that hits your skin regularly such as headphones, watches, and headbands. Most importantly, don’t forget sunscreen and gentle moisturizers. I start by using the DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil to remove sunscreen and/or makeup. Although this one clogged my pores and made me break out, I still want to finish it before I find a new one...” Don’t hesitate to share your own in 🏷 Acne Skincare Routine!

HOW TO ROUND 2: EASIEST INTENSE WING LINER
Why hello there! I’m continuing on my how to tutorials. I really like this series breaking down all makeup trends and putting up how to tutorials for all makeup artist levels for makeup trends. Continuing on the wing liner, I used a liquid liner for my wing tutorial which is what I normally do. But liquid liners are not very beginner friendly. So this tutorial will teach you how to create an intense wing liner using a matte black eyeshadow. So check out the tutorial above to see how I achieve a wing liner using eyeshadow. Next tutorial will be the last of the wing liners.
