The True Blue Skin Clarifying Duo sells at Sephora for $29 and comes with pretty decently sized mini’s: the Blue Tansy mask at 1oz/29mL and the Lapis oil at 0.3oz/8mL. I think that’s pretty good bang-for-your-buck. Let’s dive in to a little breakdown of both of these products.
Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask:
This mask claims to be a clarifying and cooling gel mask that has natural BHA white willow bark (high in salicylic acid), natural AHA from fruit enzymes (papaya and pineapple), and of course blue tansy that gently exfoliates and resurfaces the skin. This mask is best for normal, oil, and combo skin to help with acne, redness, inflammation, and pores.
This lovely blue gel-like texture mask comes in the cutest glass pot and smells, of course, like blue tansy. I personally enjoy the smell but others may not. It’s a difficult texture to describe because its a very liquidy jelly consistancy that glides onto the skin in a very thin, transparent layer. I love to use this mask on days that I feel my skin is freaking out (usually with hormonal acne/cystic bumps.). I apply this to my freshly cleansed face and instantly feel a nice soothing and cooling effect. I lay back and relax while it does it’s magic for about 15-20 minutes. Some people mention there’s a tingling effect but i do not experience that. It dries to kind of a tacky film on the skin and feels a little tight, not uncomfortable though. I wet it with a splash of water and (it feels a little slimy at this point) finish by wiping it off with a warm damp washcloth. I feel that using a washcloth can loosen up and wipe off any dead skin cells that the mask has broken up. My face feels like it needs some extra moisture (where the lapis oil comes in) but definitely doesn’t feel dried or stripped of moisture. My skin looks bright, balanced, and most importantly soothed of redness.
Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil:
This beautiful rich blue-colored facial oil smells of blue tansy as well and is meant to help hydrate and balance the skin, while soothing any redness or blemishes. In my opinion, this is the piece of the set that really helps my acne and any skin irritation. The lapis oil is made with 100% pure natural plant oils to hydrate skin in order to prevent excess oil and clogged pores. I find this oil to be a semi-dry oil which, means to me, that it absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy residue on the skin. This oil is antioxident rich and forms a natural lipid barrier in order to lock in all of the nourishment and hydration.
I find there are two main ways that I generally like to use this oil. I’m sure there’s many different combos out there but this is what works for me. I either like to use the blue tansy mask, then immediately apply this oil and call it a night.. Or, what i‘ve been doing most recently being its the colder months, I really like using the mask and then applying my usual night serum (DE TLC Framboos + a few drops of Marula oil) and adding 5-6 drops of the lapis oil to my night time moisturizer (DE Lala Retro) locking everything in. I feel like using it (the 2nd way) is most beneficial to my skin because I honestly don’t find the lapis oil to be heavy enough to be my night moisturizer. I really love and enjoy the soothing and acne treating benefits but i currently only use it PM mixed with Lala (which makes the perfect hydrating blanket to lock everything in all night). I wake up with the happiest, balanced, hydrated, and GLOWing skin. I do not use lapis in the day time due to it being too heavy for my skin in my specific routine.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a humectant that famously holds 1000 times its weight in water. It pulls in water from the environment and from the deeper layers of your skin. This ingredient seems to be ubiquitous in skincare products nowadays and it can be found in a lot of moisturizers. Benefits: -Immediately plumps the skin, softening fine lines and wrinkles -Hydrates the skin (specifically high-molecular-weight HA) -Assists in wound healing Dermatologist Tips: -Hyaluronic acid is your first step after cleansing -Must be applied to damp skin! -If you live in a dry climate, make sure to moisturize immediately after -Can be used once or twice a day -Safe to layer with most other skincare ingredients My Top Picks: VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum This contains a high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, which has moisturizing properties and sits on the surface of the skin without causing inflammation. It contains only 11 ingredients making it ideal for people with sensitive skin (like me). Also, Vichy’s proprietary volcanic water has actually been studied and proven to have skin protective and healing properties THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum The price point here is unbeatable. Again, with a simple ingredient list, you’re unlikely to run into issues with allergy or irritation. This contains a multi-molecular-weight HA, which allows you reap additional benefits, in addition to hydration and plumping. This also has matrixyl 3000 peptide, which can stimulate collagen synthesis Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Serum Both high and low-molecular weight hyaluronic acid for added benefits. This also contains glycerin (another amazing humectant) and vitamin B5 (an amazing anti-oxidant) NATURIUM - Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5% A great option fragrance-free, cruelty-free option from Naturium! This contains multi-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid that hydrates, plumps, and repairs the skin. #CheriePartner

🤦🏻‍♀️Hyperpigmentation Around The Mouth🙅🏻‍♀️
You have got great skin. But the one thing that stops you from stepping out naturally without any makeup is the dark skin around your mouth. Is this true? You have tried everything from DIYs to skin lightening creams. But the pigmentation around your mouth has remained your stubborn friend, right Why Is The Skin Around My Mouth Dark? 1. Hyperpigmentation 2. Weather Conditions Sun exposure and darkening of the skin. In very cold weather, if you lick your lips and the area around it too often, it can discolour the skin and make it look darker How Do You Get Rid Of Hyperpigmentation Around The Mouth? 1. Exfoliate If you exfoliate the area around your mouth regularly with a gentle exfoliator, it can remove dead cells and help to lighten the skin. Opt for a chemical exfoliant as it will not scrape the skin which in turn may worsen the condition. 2. OTC Skin-Brightening Creams Skin brightening creams can be effective in reducing the dark area around the mouth. Look for ingredients such as glabridin (a licorice extract), kojic acid, vitamin C, grape seed extract, azelaic acid , arbutin, curcumin or niacinamide, These block the production of tyrosinase which is needed by the skin to make melanin. 3. Acid Peels Your dermatologist may use a salicylic acid or glycolic acid peel to treat the dark skin around your mouth. However, these peels do not offer a permanent solution and the pigmentation can return. These peels penetrate deep into the skin to repair the damaged cells. Post treatment precautions like staying out of the sun, applying sunscreen and protecting the skin can make the effect of the peels last longer 6. Natural Remedies You can also use natural remedies to treat the dark skin around your mouth. Most of these natural ingredients can be found in your kitchen. Reverse Photo Damage with Tomatoes Tomatoes are naturally rich in lycopene, which has multiple health benefits, including sun protection Brighten with Yogurt breaks down dead skin cells thanks to lactic acid, which is found naturally in dairy products.
