Cherie is an online community of beauty lovers sharing their stories; whether that's their favorite products, makeup tutorials, or skincare routines. Download the app today to be a part of #BeautyWithoutBarriers and show the world what beauty means to you!Whenever I open up my Cherie app, I'm always excited to see the range of beauty content users deliver. It's incredibly refreshing and, more importantly, super useful content. There's no beating around the bush of information just to post a #SponsoredAd. Instead, you get real beauty lovers sharing a lot of what they REALLY love — and some of what they don't. Because of this uninfluenced approach to beauty, you get to see a new generation of unfiltered beauty lovers on the Cherie app. We've traded skin goals for skin journeys and really focus on discovering beauty that works for you. Keep reading to see some ways the Cherie app is creating a new space for beauty lovers! A custom beauty profile to complete the storyYou know how when you read beauty product reviews you have no idea what the other person's skin type, tone, or concerns are? It makes it hard to know if you can relate to someone's product reviews when all you see are words. To make the vetting process of reviews easier, Cherie makes every profile a custom beauty profile meaning right at the top of someone's page, you'll see their skin tone, type, and concerns. It makes it so much easier to find products that work for you when you can see what products have worked for someone with skin similar to yours.

Cheers! We've traded likes for cheers! At Cherie, we felt like 'likes' lost their heart — and in all honesty, they can do a number to one's self-esteem, especially when you're putting yourself out there in the digital world. We wanted something that allows our users to empower each other to keep posting their beauty journeys on Cherie and keep the honesty alive. Enter cheers — a simple applause that embodies gratitude and empowerment. Instead of a simple double-tap, we're cheering each other on to keep up the great work :) Shop by concernWhen it comes to skin concerns, finding the right product can get super overwhelming. Spending time on Google searching for "the best" and reading reviews on reviews all to find THE one can get pretty convoluted. On Cherie, you can filter products by your concern and see the top ranked items that can help! And, you'll also see the top posts to help you combat whatever skin woes you have.

Some cleansing balms for Oily/Acne prone skin
Some cleansing balms for Oily/Acne prone skin
Here's a tower shot of some cleansing balms I have been using... I have tried some cleansing balms in the past that either broke me out or I didn't like, these are some I tried and liked : @banilacousa Clean it zero cleansing balm BANILA CO - Clean It Zero 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm - ✨ Fragrance free ✨Removes makeup, sunscreen and other non-waterproof makeup ✨Glides easily and feels so lightweight ✨ Emulsifies so well and rinses off completely ✨ Doesn't leave a greasy film and doesn't sting/blur eyes @elemis Pro collagen cleansing balmELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm - ✨ Has strong fragrance ✨Removes makeup, sunscreen and other non-waterproof makeup ✨Glides easily and feels so lightweight ✨ Emulsifies so well and rinses off completely ✨ Doesn't leave a greasy film and doesn't sting/blur eyes @lxmiofficial Pure nilotica oil LXMI - Pure Nilotica Melt Nourishing Balm-to-Oil ( Even though this isn't sold as a cleansing balm I really like how it removes makeup and also doesn't clog pores) ✨Fragrance free ✨Texture is thick, melts into oil ✨Removes makeup and sunscreen ✨ Doesn't emulsify ✨Leaves a greasy film on skin The cleansing balms I didn't like: @drunkelephant - Slaai makeup melting butter cleanserDRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser (This has marula oil and surprisingly it broke me out.I out this to test in different scenarios but every time I used it it gave me small breakouts, so is a no for me) @ponds cold cream makeup removerPOND'S - Cold Cream Cleanser ( This is thick cold cream that is packaged and marketed to remove makeup and dirt but isn't the best experience. It's too occlusive and doesn't glide on skin easily. It also doesn't emulsify at all and leaves that crazy thick film on skin when rinsed with water. Well, it doesn't even rinse off to start with) @banilacousa Clean it Zero is my favorite so far. Works the best for Oily/Acne prone skin. I bought this value size tub on Amazon for 23$ which is truly a bang for the buck.
Hidden gems: Fourth ray beauty’s Reveal AHA
Hidden gems: Fourth ray beauty’s Reveal AHA
Fourth Ray beauty is one such brand that mostly stands out for their cute, aesthetic packaging and their range of face milks! And ofcourse for they being cousin brand of infamous Colourpop cosemtics. I got these products to test whether they really do something for skin or not. I found these to be decently working except the mellow milk mist. I like this brand because of their ingredients focused products, such as their fruit/food based milks and serums. Some fruits like Pineapple and Papaya can be really great for skin. They have multiple Anti-oxidantd as well as Vitamins that help to target specific skin concerns. The only factor to look at is they need that particular extraction and formulation for those ingredients to work out of these fruits, most DIY recipes and extracts used directly on face will not give those benefits if not do any harm. I think Fourth ray beauty products are affordable and some of them might actually work great for your skin. I see people reaching for them mostly because they look cute and cohesive in their cabinet, but I think not all products or their face milks are necessary in your collection. The formula and the whole function if them is quite similar. 🍓I like the Strawberry milkFourth Ray - Strawberry Face Milk as it is quite moisturizing on face, I found it to be a little more on greasy side when it settles on skin. I like this milk when I need that extra amount of moisture. Apart from moisturizing, and slightly Hydrating I didn't see it doing anything. Which is quite expected as it doesn't have any Actives in it. Most of the Fourth ray beauty products are on soothing and calming side as they contain such calming ingredients. ✨This milk has : Strawberry Seed Oil, Marshmallow, and Lotus Flower this formula conditions skin for a softer, healthier-looking complexion. ✨All three main ingredients are for moisturizing and hydrating effects as well as they can be calming on skin ✨This smells exactly like strawberry smoothie so for someone who loves fruity smell in skincare, this is really good. I didn't find any harshly irritating ingredients apart from the added fragrance in this milk. This has tiny amount of alcohol (mostly for penetration purpose) but nothing that will dry skin out. Overall I think it is a good lightweight moisturizer for Oily/combination skin types, especially in Winter. 🍋Other tried and loved product is their Reveal 10% aha serumFourth Ray - Reveal 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid Serum . I loved this serum as it works amazing on my acne prone, Sensitive skin. This has : Lactic acid , Glycolic acid and Strawberry extract. Lactic acid is second and Glycolic acid is fourth on their ingredients list which is really impressive. This serum is watery and doesn't irritate skin if used moderately. I truly enjoyed this serum. It definitely Exfoliates skin well, resurfaces the textural irregularities and lightens dark spots. If you want to try a different AHA serum on the market that won't break your bank, this serum is for 16$ for 30ml. I think you should definitely give this one a try! It's actually a hidden gem in AHA picks. 🍏Last one is their Mellow milk mistFourth Ray - Mellow Milk Face Mist which has some soothing ingredients but I found it to be a little greasy on me so I didn't grab it as much. Also it didn't really seem to be working anything apart from soothing and calming irritation. ✨This has : WhiteTea, Chamomlie, and Marshmallow Root for a soft and comforted complexion. Definitely soothing anf calming ingredients. This has milky texture which leaves a slight oily finish on skin.

{Overnight Style} Headband Curls
{Overnight Style} Headband Curls
I loveeee overnight styles. I have a pictorial on my Cherie page already of my go-to overnight waves. I’m back with another easy overnight style. This style is good for pretty much all hair types (except super coiled) and most lengths longer than your chin. What you’ll need: An elastic headband thicker than the width of at least 2 fingers Comb Hairspray (optional) Bobby pins (optional) Steps: 1. Start with clean or next day hair that is 85% dry. You can lightly dampen sections with water if you are starting with completely dry hair. Comb through and part in desired spot. 2. Place the headband on top of your forehead (think flower crown or “hippie” style) over your hair. 3. Starting on one side of your head, take a one inch section of hair from the front and wrap it around the headband once. 4. Take another section of hair (which will include the ends of the first section) and repeat. 5. Repeat until you get to the back of your head. Repeat steps 3-5 on the other side of your head until you’ve wrapped all of your hair around the headband once. You will have long pieces sticking out. 6. Gently make room on your headband by pushing the looped hair towards the left and right (whatever side they originated from) and continue wrapping the lengths of your hair until you run out. 7. Optional - If you have fine hair or toss and turn in your sleep, secure your ends with a bobby pin or two. 8. Optional - Spray with hairspray to increase the longevity of this style. 9. Go to bed! If you’re doing this style during the day, I suggest 6-8+ hours depending on your hair type, desired level of curl, and how damp your hair is. Less time = less curl 10. In the AM (or hours later) carefully unwrap your hair and fluff. You can spray with hairspray or add a styling oil if that’s your jam. Style however you’d like! **Your curls will relax throughout the day!** About my hair: super thick, long, naturally wavy/curly, holds curl well Style was prepped on day 3 hair that was lightly dampened with water. Headband was left in for 10 hours. I chose to pull some front pieces back when I styled my hair because I sometimes feel overwhelmed by so much volume near my small face. I did not use hairspray or Bobby pins the night before because my hair holds this style well overnight. My headband is probably from Target or Walmart but not sure because I’ve had it for a few years. #CheriePartner
Frizz Free Curls Routine!
Frizz Free Curls Routine!
Frizz is one of the most common problems among natural curly hair. This problem can become even worse if you have high porosity and damage hair. Since I started my curly hair journey, I struggled with frizz but despite of all my efforts I wasn't able to control it. After reading and watching lots of tutorials about it, I finally find a routine that works for me. 1. Use a moisturizing leaving conditioner. Frizz gets worse when hair is dry so make sure that your 1st styling product give your hair moisture. SheaMoisture - Purple Rice Water Strength + Color Care Primer & Styler 2. Use products Design to control frizz. My favorite brand is Curl Keeper - Loose Curl Kit They have the "Original " and "Gel". This products used together give you lots of frizz control. They really do what they claim to do. 3. Apply your products and style your hair upside down . This technique really helps me. 4. Use a micro fiber towel is essential to prevent breakage and frizz. After applying your products use that towel to remove excess water and products. Then plop your hair up for 10 to 15 minutes to promote curl formation and reduce frizzPATTERN - Microfiber Towel[] 5. Using a hair diffuser is key to control frizz since your hair starts to create a cast faster which means more frizz control Curl Keeper - Pop-Up Silicone Curl Diffuser 6. Finish your styling routine by adding some hair oil from mid to ends to lock-it moisture anc give shine.
