Let's face it: mornings can be hard, especially in the age of social distancing. Wanna learn how to make mornings easier? Give yourself a special morning ritual! Morning rituals are good ways to start your day in a positive, productive fashion. Whether you like to move, think, write, or sit, there is a morning ritual for everyone.MeditateMeditation is a great way to focus your mind and prepare yourself for the day. In mindfulness meditation, you learn how to pay attention to your breath as it goes in and out, and notice when your mind wanders from this task. This practice of returning to the breath builds the muscles of attention and mindfulness. Morning meditation looks like this: 1. Get comfortable and prepare to sit still for a few minutes. 2. Focus on your breath. Where do you feel your breath most? Try to keep your attention on your inhale and exhale. 3. Follow your breath for two minutes. Take a deep inhale, expanding your belly, and then exhale slowly, elongating the out-breath as your belly contracts. Pay attention to where your mind wanders and reign it in. Keep your focus on your breath and your body to start your day centeredHave a cup of teaBrewing a good cup of tea can help anyone to have a relaxing morning. Most teas are full of antioxidants and good-for-you vitamins and minerals. Tea has also been linked to weight loss, strong bones, and a boosted immune system. Some teas are caffeinated, so it can be a good alternative to coffee for the energy boot you might be looking for. If you're not sure where to start when it comes to teas, try one of these on for size: 1. Green tea: Green tea has a very mild taste, so it is a good place to start if you've never ventured into the world of tea before. Green tea can be made hot or iced and sweetened with honey if you prefer. Green tea is full of antioxidants and can give you a nice, mild spike of energy to start your morning strong. 2. Black tea: Black tea is rich in caffeine, so it helps fight lethargy and increases mental alertness in the morning. A cup of this brew in the morning will help you focus on your work with ease. It has a deeper flavor than green teas, so those who aren't fans of the taste may not enjoy black tea as much. 3. Yerba mate: Yerba mate contains a whole host of therapeutic benefits thanks to an abundance of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants in the leaves from which the tea is brewed. Yerba mate contains more antioxidants than green tea. In addition to 24 vitamins and minerals and 15 amino acids, yerba mate also contains about 85 milligrams of caffeine per cup. 4. Ginger tea: Not only is it warm and comforting, but ginger tea is said to help soothe an upset stomach. A cup of this spicy tea in the morning would be particularly helpful in relieving nausea, motion sickness, or pregnancy-induced morning sickness. Ginger tea also has a bit of caffeine and can give you a bit of a boost in the morning. StretchStretching your body out first thing in the morning, while having great health benefits, is also just a good way to get yourself awake and moving. Whether you're into simple static stretches or something more technical like yoga, stretching is a wonderful way to get your body ready to start your day. Simple yoga poses look like this: Child's pose 1. Start in a kneeling position with toes tucked under. 2. Lower your butt towards your feet as you stretch your upper body forward and down with arms extended. Your stomach should be comfortably resting on thighs, with your forehead touching the mat. 3. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds and release. Cat/Cow pose 1. Begin with hands and knees on the floor, spine neutral and abs engaged. 2. Take a big inhale, then, as you exhale, round your spine up towards the ceiling and tuck your chin towards your chest, releasing your neck. 3. On the next inhale, arch your back and relax your abs. Lift your head and tailbone upwards, being careful not to place any pressure on your neck by moving too quickly or deeply. 4. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds and release. Cobra pose: 1. Lie prone on the floor and stretch your legs back with the tops of your feet on the floor. Spread your hands on the floor under your shoulders and hug your elbows back into your body. 2. On an inhalation, begin to straighten your arms to lift your chest off the floor, keeping your pelvis and legs on the floor. 3. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds and release.JournalWriting down your thoughts to start the day can help clear your mind so you can focus on the tasks you need to complete. Whether you like to write poetry, affirmations, or simply a stream of consciousness, writing is a perfect way to start your morning and get your brain ready for the day ahead. If writing is your thing, here are some prompts you can ponder: 1. What are your hopes for the week ahead? 2. If you could only speak to one person over snail mail for the rest of your life, who would it be and why? 3. What has been the best day of your life?

My absolute favorite hairstyle is anything with a Dutch braid! This hairstyle is so simple yeah it’s so cute… Here’s how you do it: ✨ take a small section of hair by your forehead and start your Dutch braid doing your outside pieces of hair underneath your middle piece and alternate which side you grab a piece of hair from ✨ continue that till you get to the top of your ear ✨ use texture spray on your braid so it will help with fluffing it out...I use AIIR - Texture Spray ✨ Pull on each loop of the braid to make it as fluffy as possible ✨ elastic the braid ✨ take a small section from either side of your head and elastic that into a half up style ✨ take a cute clip and clip it to the elastic That’s it y’all! Let’s chat hair color!
What is a hair toner? A toner is a semi or demi permanent hair color that either adds or neutralizes tone in your hair- that’s where the word toner comes from. As a colorist, I use a toner on 99% of my blondes. A problem I’ve run into in the past is a new client telling me they do NOT want a toner or that they’ve been told they’re only for fixing mistakes! Let’s pause here. Without a toner your hair color will be what I call “raw blonde” aka whatever your color wants to lift to on its own. This can include uneven color from previous touch ups, or yellow or orange undertones that our hair naturally has. A toner is my weapon to help combat these uneven tones and leave your hair as our desired result. So- next time your stylist uses a toner you can ask, what color are we enhancing today?! Kylie x Grinch - Worth the Hype?
Review time!!! I just received the entire Kylie Cosmetics Grinch Collection in the mail this week & I want to break down each product and tell you what I loved and didn’t love. Palette: I’m not one that reaches for tons of colour usually but all the greens in this palette are gorgeous! There’s a mix of matte and shimmer shades, and as usual, the shadows blend like a dream! The good thing about this palette is that there are still some neutral shades rather than just greens. I definitely appreciate the mixture of shades. Shadow Sticks: The Kylie shadow sticks are probably one of my favourite products they have ever released. They are so extremely pigmented, and so easy to apply. They’re basically fool proof, and they set as a shadow. If you haven’t tried them out, I highly suggest you do! In this collection we have a super pretty light shimmery green, light gold, and two rosy toned shadow sticks. Shimmer Eye Glazes: This product is insane. They are a super intensely pigmented eyeshadow that leaves the lids looking wet & dripping in glitter! One swipe of these on the lid is literally all you need for that intense shimmer. If you’re someone who loves super shimmery eyeshadow, I recommend giving the Kylie Cosmetics Shimmer Eye Glazes a try. This collection came with 2 shades: a minty turquoise green and a gold - & I’m obsessed and so happy to be adding these to my collection!! Olive Kyliner: My go to liquid liner is the black Kyliner, so i wasn’t surprised when i loved the easy application and long wearing quality of this olive Kyliner! The liner applies a lighter olive green and dries down to a deeper olive shade. It’s definitely not something I’d reach for everyday, although it’s definitely cute for the holidays or even for a pop of colour to a neutral eye! Blush: I am a huge fan of the Kylie Cosmetics Blushes as opposed to the other blushes I’ve tried from the brand this one had some shimmer in it! It’s quite similar to the NARS “orgasm” blush but with a stronger pink hue. I love the shimmer in it, it adds a pretty glow to the cheeks, perfect for the holidays.. or any day really :P Highlight: Def on theme, but probably my least favourite product in of the collection :( Don’t get me wrong, it’s super blinding and glowy. Although, once I applied to my face it showed off as very green. Personally I don’t want a green glow on my face! But hey, if that’s your vibe that’s cool! Definitely not a highlight I’d reach for everyday. Lip Kit: Obsessed. This red is EVERYTHING! This Lip Kit is one of the best reds I have ever tried. It has a matte finish and is extremely long wearing. I know it’s sold out but a similar shade would be “BOSS” by Kylie. Lipsticks: These shades are gorg for the holidays and I love the shade range! Long wearing & comfortable on the lips. High Glosses: Kylies high glosses are high shine, but very sticky! So if you’re not a fan of sticky glosses you won’t love these. These shades are perf for the holidays and everyday!
THE BEST FOUNDATION I HAVE EVER TRIED
The Profusion Feel Good Skin Perfector is the best foundation I have used HANDS DOWN, and it is only $7.🙃 - shade: medium 3 neutral - skin type: combination (this foundation has kept my face 95% matte for over 9 hours) - satin finish w/ a light-medium coverage (it is buildable) - applies best with a sponge (I use the profusion marble sponge) It made my skin look healthy and even, and it’s my new everyday favorite foundation. I am very picky with foundations, but this didn’t give me bad smile lines so it’s a 10/10 for me already. ☁️ If you haven’t yet..please try this foundation out and let me know what you think!
