Too Good to Be True? Testing Cherie's High Rated Drugstore MakeupCan makeup from the drugstore survive against my high standards?
Something I've learned in my many years as a makeup conesuir is that brand and price rarely matter; finding good makeup is all about trial and error. That's where Cherie comes in. Since I've been on the app, other users have taken the guesswork out of the equation. So when I see a highly rated product with tons of reviews, I can't help but want to try it out for myself. When it comes to drugstore makeup, I definitely tend to be skeptical because I know ingredients can be sketch and the price point just doesn't add up to such wonderful reviews. But, like I said, I can't help but try out affordable Cherie finds. Wet 'n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow 10 Pan Palette-Rose in the Air ($5.99)Finding affordable, high quality eyesadow is probably the hardest thing to do if you're on a budget. So when I saw that this palette only cost $6 and had a 4.3 star rating on Cherie, I was intrigued to say the least. When I swatched the colors, I definitely became more nervous. On the arm, the product was chalky and not very pigmented. However, when I started to use it on the eyes, I was so impressed! These shadows blended like a dream and were very easy to layer, especially for the price point. The one downside is the fact that the glitter shades aren't all that impressive and have a lot of fallout on the face. Nonetheless, this palette is definitely worth the buy if you're looking for something nice and affordable.

wet n wildColor Icon Eyeshadow 10 Pan PaletteNYX Micro Brow Pencil ($9.99)Anastasia who? This brow pencil is a PERFECT dupe for $23 Anastasia Brow Whiz. I have sworn by this product for years and am never disappointed. The makeup itself is perfectly soft, yet firm for flawless brow application. The spoolie on the other end is also perfectly crafted for brow shaping and blending. While I currently only use a brow mascara, I always return to this product when I'm looking for a more structured brow. Having earned itself a 4.3 star rating on Cherie, this is a drugstore classic and I cannot recommend it enough.Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara ($4.99) Good mascara is hard to find, so when I purchased this $5 drugstore product, I truly didn't have high hopes even with its 4.4 star rating on Cherie. Most of the mascara I have loved in the past have cost at least $20, but this mascara has defied all the odds and topped them all. THIS MASCARA IS SO GOOD! No product has ever surprised me more. When this mascara says "False Lash Effect," it means it! In terms of consistency, this is a very wet mascara so yo need to be careful about letting it set before you move on to the next step of your beauty routine. All in all, though, this mascara has my devotion from now on.NYX Vinyl Liquid Liner ($7.00)I have a lot of thoughts about liquid liner, mostly because I'm terrible at applying it. Admittedly, this liner was no exception, but I can't fault the product based on human error. The applicator was easy to hold and the brush was very thin which made for sharp, crisp application (if you have that talent.) Aside from my difficulty applying it, this liner was really good! While I think there's nothing exceptional about the liner, it was very pigmented and did its job well which definitely supports its 4.4 star rating on Cherie. Please note that it is not water-proof, so if that's what you're looking for, I'd opt for another product.

Skin positivity is a lifelong struggle amiright?
I told myself I was going to take a selfie to post. One selfie. Not 50 so I could get the best one. Make-up free. No filters. No edits. Unwashed hair. Here it is. When I look at this a whole dialogue fills my mind “wow, you need sleep”, “maybe you should be better about taking your medicine”, “those rashes really messed up your face”, “good lord girl drink some water once in awhile”, “good thing you laid out covered in baby oil all those years!”, “maybe it’s time for a brow appointment” and on and on and on. That’s what we all see when we look at photos of ourselves right? The bad. But, it’s also “I look ok for 43. For keeping 3 kids alive for more than 18 years. For having an immune disease that more than likely will ruin my skin and my face in the next 5-10 years. For neglecting my skin for the better part of 30 years.” We all have a story. And our faces, our skin can reflect that. But most of the time you are the only one who can see it because you’re the only one who knows the whole story. To everyone else you look beautiful. Acne, spots, wrinkles, scars. It’s all part of your story. These “flaws” I see are all part of MY story. 💙
The best sunscreen for dry skin☀️
Y’all… Let me tell you how dry my skin gets. My skin gets so dry that it looks like my skin is actually flaking. I have struggled with dry skin my entire life and I hardly find any products that truly help my skin. I reached out to a friend who gave me a skin care routine and she suggested this sunscreen PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ it is honestly the best! Not only is it scent free but it hydrates my skin without burning it. I have high sensitivity to a lot of products and this is one that doesn’t make my skin irritated or break out. If you struggle with dry skin, try out this sunscreen! Not only does it help with the dryness but also you should always be protecting your face with sunscreen!!!

LOVE YOUR SKIN ❤️ From Junkie to Skincare Junkie
I have had quite a weird relationship with my skin throughout the years. This last year I have shown it the most love & care than I ever have throughout my life. For over 7 years of my life, I was a heroin addict. From the ages of 16 to 23 all I cared about were drugs & having “fun”. I certainly didn’t care about my skincare. I picked at my face, popped pimples, cleaned it with whatever I could find. I had no love for myself & I felt ugly inside & out. Luckily, over a year & half ago, while 5 months pregnant, homeless & living in my car with my boyfriend, a miracle happened. We got arrested. That arrest forced a chain of events that brought me here, today, writing this post. Right now, as I lay in my new house with my son asleep on one side of me & my husband on the other, I am clean & sober. & sobriety is the best gift I ever gave myself & I am so thankful for it. Through sobriety I found myself. My likes, my dislikes. Things I’m good at. Things I’m really not good at. (Cooking 😬) & it turns out, I really, really love skincare! It’s not a perfect love though, I still have my ups & downs. My breakouts & my imperfections. (Currently there are 3 pimples developing on my chin laughing at me😂) Regardless of that, I am happy & I enjoy every second of life today. I have come from using wet wipes to clean my face, to using the worst of the worst in early sobriety (St. ives - I remember you😖), to now having a good, healthy & consistent routine! I now pay attention to ingredients in my products & I know what they mean & what they do. I understand what my particular skin needs! & what to use to help it stay clean & radiant. I am so happy with my journey & so thankful that I’m alive to share it with you guys today. I am living proof that we do recover but that recovery, just like skincare isn’t going to be perfect. It’s real. There are good days & bad days. But no matter how “bad” a day could be while sober, I look back & remember how far I have come & how far I plan to go. Thank you for reading! ❤️ @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick

hey beauties!! for those who don’t know, i am part indian, so i got the long eyelash gene. 🥺 but... this mascara specifically enhances my lashes like no other!!!! the length part doesnt lengthen mine much, but the volume... THE VOLUME!!! it works wonders. it makes my lashes look SO full! now, i’ve seen people with very minimal eyelashes use this mascara and it gave them length like CRAZY. so with that being said, for those of you who are looking for a mascara that will give you not only length, but curl definition AND volume, this huda beauty mascara is definitely for you! 🤩 it is quite pricey though.. so let me i now if you’d like to see some dupes!
