Do you change your skincare products as the season change? Now that we’re in full spring mode I’m starting to switch things around here, swapping rich creamy moisturizers for lighter layers of hydration. I love mists because they work so well to do just that, I have naturally dehydrated skin so I love misting my face in between serums and moisturizers to add moisture back to my skin without the heaviness. The BLUME Stargirl Face Mist is one of my favorites. Blume gifted me some products a few months back including Stargirl and it’s so nice. So many skin loving ingredients like aloe juice, my favorite for redness and inflammation, rose water which is just an amazing ingredient all around and blue tansy to soother alongside other ingredients. It’s super refreshing and energizing yet balancing and plays well with others. Definitely a great addition to any springtime routine and/or just for warmer weather, works as a great midday pick me up too! ☀️
When the spring finally arrives, my skin certainly freaks out as it does in the winter too. I stumbled upon this face cream accidentally and it has wonderfully changed my (life?) skin!! I’m so wary of moisturizers as I tend to break out with most of them. My skin is super sensitive, and having combination it’s been really tricky to nail down a proper defense against the oily and dry, but the Kat Burki vitamin C Face cream has worked wonders! The second I put it on it soaks right in and I don’t feel like there’s anything on my face, it’s so lightweight and just lovely. It has helped with both the oily and dry issues, I truly can’t say enough good things about it!! While a bit on the pricier side for sure, a little does go a long way and it works such wonders it’s worth every penny!
I’ve been over steaming and over exfoliating, which caused my skin to go through an intense period of dryness. I also think the constant change in weather is affecting my skin. My skin was peeling at odd spots and I had dry patches that would not go away no matter what I applied onto my skin. My skin is now starting to transition into its normal combination skin. To combat, I used a lot of hydrating products throughout the day, one of which is PURITO Centella Green Level Recovery Cream. The product is a smooth cream formula which aims to moisturise and soothe skin. I used the cream liberally on my face multiple times during the day. I think it really helped to first soothe and then build back the barrier that I’d over-exfoliated by supplying my skin with the required hydration. I like how it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin and layered great with all of the other skincare products I’ve been using. I also used a thick layer of the Centella cream after waxing my face and found that it was incredibly helpful with the redness and possible irritation. Composed with the perfect ingredient blend to soothe and calm your skin, I think this is a great product for anyone with sensitive skin that irritates easily.
What I absolutely adore about Spring and warmer weather is the ability to use (sometimes overuse) face mists. Face mists are incredibly refreshing and pampering. I love the cool droplets, especially on a warm, dry day. One of home favorite mists of all time is the Indie Lee COQ-10 toner. I appreciate the hydration and “plumpness” OG my skin when using this. I use it after cleansing and sometimes as a makeup setting spray. Love this stuff.
What fits into springtime more than the words fresh, rejuvenating, clean, and some healthy green vegetables!? 🌿 this YTTP cleanser is one of my favorite new cleansers 😍 this mini bottle is so photogenic too 😉 This cleanser has tons of healthy antioxidants in it that’s great for clearing out gunk from your pores. It gets rid of any makeup debris and grease and leaves my skin feeling really clean without over drying it. I LOVE when a cleanser is super effective yet not stripping my skin and making it dry. Definitely give this little guy a try!! The mini is so cheap at Sephora!

HOLY GRAIL SPF 🌞🌞🌞
Okay guys as I have said before I am guilty of rarely ever wearing sunscreen. I just never liked the feel of it on my skin. I always felt like it made me greasy & clogged my pores. However, once I heard about this product I was very intrigued. NIOD - Survival 30 It actually isn’t sold in the United States for some reason so I had to purchase it on a UK website. (Beauty Bay) It is an antioxidant serum with SPF 30. At first, it appears to be tinted but it’s actually not. On NIOD’s website they state: “The slight tinted appearance is derived from the active technologies including Lutein, Fractionated Melanin and Pycnogenol.” It blends in with your skin so easily & does not leave a white cast like some other SPF products. However this serum literally makes my skin tone soo even & perfect! It also contains silicone so it completely smooths over my pores. AND besides all that great stuff, it’s a mineral sunscreen! So it protects against environmental & lifestyle issues. Like UV rays, blue light, etc. I have never loved a product as much as this one! I literally cannot believe how good my skin looks while using this stuff! For a 30ml bottle, I paid $33 on the Beauty Bay site. For me, that is completely worth it! It comes in this adorable packaging & pretty glass bottle. It also has a pump dispenser & squirts out the perfect amount for a single use! I really can’t recommend this stuff enough guys! It’s wonderful!! @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick
Clear skin the gentle way?
Thank you @cheriefor this amazing gift 🤩 “buh-koo-chee-all” HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum I’ve already become a diehard Herbivore lover. So to receive this beauty was super exciting. When I started my acne journey on Cherie I was (and still am) a Differin Acne Gel stan. This was my choice of retinol and I wanted it strong to treat acne and boost my cellular turnover. Now that my acne is currently under control and it’s getting hot again, I definitely want something smooth and gentle. Bakuchiol is a gentler alternative to the very popular ingredient retinol. So essentially you’ll get overall youthful results for your skin. I haven’t tested this on my acne theory yet, but overall my face has been smooth and irritation free. This serum does not have a smell which I love for products of this caliber. I also love that it’s light and not drying at all. I use this at night and since i have a tolerance to retinol I use it every night. I haven’t been using it long enough to see results (about 12 weeks) but I definitely can’t wait to finish this. Have you tried Bakuchiol?
Skin Barrier Skin Savior 🙏🏾
Thank you @cheriefor this amazing gift 🤩🤩 Something thing I am very particular about is my moisturizer. My skin barrier tends need the extra TLC and the best thing to give it is moisture. So when I look for a moisturizer I need something that gives me instant hydration and doesn’t clog my pores. So when I received the : BASE BUTTER - Radiate Face Jelly Aloe Vera Gel Face Moisturizer I was so excited! The Brand : ✨Black Owned ✨Women Owned ✨Cruelty Free ✨Non-Comedogenic ✨Vegan ✨Paraben Free 🔑 Ingredients : ✨Aloe Vera Juice ✨Shea Butter ✨Evening Primrose Oil Okay, as you can see your girl woke up DULL! The only thing I did for this video was wash my face and use this to show y’all the transformation! I was using this EVERY night but last night I used my acne treatment routine and your girl FELT THAT (salicylic acid can be so drying to my combo skin). What’s my favorite part? This baby doesn’t have a smell or heavy greasy feel, so it perfect year round! At $21 this is a DEAL ! (The line I used on my cheek covered the entire bottom portion of my face!) Have you tried this brand?
A Journey of Self 🌹
I figured Black History Month was as good as any opportunity to talk about my self finding. Growing up in a small yet old family, I always had questions about my roots and family history. I also struggled with self conscious doubts about my appearance. Why is my nose this big? Why is my hair this curly? Why am I taller than average? These weighed heavy on my mind growing up because honestly, sticking out sucked. So, I finally dove deep into my family’s origin and decided to do an Ancestry DNA analysis. I immersed myself with every corner of the site. I only got the chance to finish my maternal grandmas side of the family tree, but even that has plenty of gaps. Yet, when I received my DNA results I was stoked. Then I realized, I don’t know much about any of these places. So I dug even deeper. I have a little journal of things I’ve learned and want to know, but this was quite the experience. It was heartbreaking and satisfying at the same time. I highly recommend for every race and background to do this DNA Test. The best part of this was scrolling through photos of the people of the respected countries I was DNA matched to. I swear I saw a girl who looked like me, but everyone else thinks I’m tripping lol. In the end, I’m satisfied with my results and findings. Relatively speaking, this way of self discovery has been the most effective.
