When I think about how the last few weeks have unfolded around the world in regards to COVID-19, it was all eerily fast. One week I was at a restaurant talking to a friend about how crazy the Corona Virus seems to be getting, and the next we could only exchange those words over the phone. In the wake of today, I believe that cultivating your well-being is more important than ever—in fact, staying at home, away from social gatherings, and creating your sanctuary is the surest way we can help stop the spread of this virus. In the spirit of turning our homes into, well, everything these days, I wanted to share some fun ways I've been turning my bathroom into a luxurious, private spa. These no-buy tips and tricks take what you already have in your vanity (and home) to amp up your regular degular skincare routine into a spa-like experience. Plus, it's just a fun and healthy way to take care of yourself during this time. 1. Theme Your RoutineBefore the days of social distancing, I did the same routine, morning and night. It was easy, on-the-go, and what I had time for! With more time at home, take a look at your top shelfie and create fun themes around your regimen; you can go by ingredient like rose-based products only, by solution like hydration, or by function like an exfoliating routine! Another fun theme is simply going by color, and choosing products that are just aesthetically pleasing.

2. Get SteamyIf you haven't added a steam to your skincare routine, now is the time. While there are gizmos and gadgets that mimic facial steamers you'd find at an aestheticians office, I prefer the easy, old- fashioned way; face over a bowl of hot water. If you have an electric kettle, this process is as fast as a personal facial steamer! When you heat your water for this, be careful not to make it too hot; I like to bring mine close to a boil, though sometimes I can't always stand the heat😄

3. Double MaskTwo is definitely better than one when you double mask! Whenever I do this, I always feel like I'm indulging myself to a well-deserved treat. It also just feels so right for your skin—to detoxify it with a clay mask and then re-hydrate it with a sheet mask. Choose your favorite products here; the key is to reach for a mask that draws out impurities first (like a clay-based mask or a peel-off mask) then regenerate with a hydrating mask (like a sheet mask or a cream mask a la Summer Friday's Jet Lag Mask).

4. Massage It outSo, facial massage is a key element to any good facial, and it's also the cherry on top of your at-home spa day. The benefits of facial include improved blood circulation, lymphatic drainage, better absorption of your beauty products, and, most importantly, relaxation. Note that while you give yourself a facial massage, apply the pressure that feels most comfortable to you, and always finish with an outward motion, as if you were draining everything out from your face.

1: "Scrape" Outwards - Make an L-shape with your palms together and tuck your face between your thumbs and index fingers - With a scraping motion, move outwards from the inner part of your face to your ears - Repeat 3x 2: Push Upwards - In an alternating fashion, move your fingers upwards from your chin to your eyes - Repeat 3x, and on other side 3: Figure 3 - Just like you would put bronzer on, massage from your forehead, to your cheekbones, to your chin - Repeat 3x 4: Pinch Across Eyebrows - Lightly pinch across your eyebrows to relieve fatigued eyes - Repeat 3x 5: Gently Pat - Gently pat your skin, as if you were applying toner, to give it a final boost of energy

Starting off with one of my all time favorite blushes. MAC - MAC Powder Blush One thing I really love about MAC’s blushes is that They have a shade to suit just about anyone's preference and skin tone. They come in an amazing color range and have great staying power throughout the day! I am obsessed with MAC blushes. This one here I got is harmony. It is such a beautiful blush. It is a little bit more of a cool tone blush. It is super flattering on all skin tones since its very buildable. Thats another benefits about MAC blushes. It is not intensely pigmented. And for me this is actually a positive thing. Glossier. - Cloud Paint Glossier - I really feel like this blush last on the cheeks ALL day for me without using a primer underneath my foundation. Not only does it have incredible staying power, the colour selection is stunning! The colour looks great on the skin and a little goes a long way which is great. If you are looking for more of a pigmented rosy cheek, this would be you top choice. Another thing amazing about this product is that it works over powder and cream products. For many creamy blushes, it can easily mess up your foundations. This one won’t. L.A. Girl - Just Blushing Powder If you want more of a natural flush, you will love this one. I feel the colors are perfect for fair skin. The pigmentation is really nice, It’s super natural but gives you a nice natural flush. This blush gives me such a nice flush and a healthy look, and blends beautifully. And it is also buildable, you can build it up to the opacity that you want. It has a brighter look comparing with the previous 2 just because it has this peach undertone. As a drugstore blush, it is worth every penny. It’s not chalky or too light has always been hard. I been wearing these blushes in my teen years! I definitely would recommend this product to others.

I was always a fan of Glowrecipe’s packaging and I had seen the episode when they appeared on Shark tank few years back. I was intrigued and wanted to try the brand but when it initially launched, the products were a little too pricey for me. I was willing to buy GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask the very first time and I know why I was gravitated towards this particular product. I was new to AHA/chemical exfoliants and this products sounded perfect to take a leap with it. This was very gentle on my sensitive Acne prone skin and didn’t irritate me too much. So I was happy with this one and I wanted to try more, guess we are never happy with no matter how much skincare right?😅 I went ahead and tried their GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist and GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Pink Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer Amazing!!! I felt in love... The mist is super fine almost like water diffuser but of course with Hyaluronic acid and Watermelon extract in it. It gives an instant cooling effect so my sensitive, inflamed (with acne) skin used to love the feel of it. It is oil-water infused mist meaning it has oil on top of water hence you have to shake well before misting👍. I never disliked or put it off my favorites list ❤️ The Pink juice moisturizer is the perfect moisturu for my Oily and combination skin type. It takes care of moisturizing my Oily part as well as locks the moisture on the dryer one. Perfect watery-gel that smells fresh like watermelon slushee and feels cooling on face 👍 The last one to try out for me wasGLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask And I’d be honest I didn’t like the formula. It’s thick, occlusive and rich cream one that’s but too heavy for my skin. This was the finish and texture, but I anyway give the product few chances to see if it’s really giving me any good results. It didn’t give the results I typically see with Retinols and Retinoids on my skin. Hence wasn’t my favorite in this line. ✨So far, I like the brand. The products are subtle, near to basic yet gently effective and perfect for people with sensitive skin types. ✨Although, heads up for the watermelon fragrance, if you’re sensitive to perfume in skincare, take a patch test. ✨It definitely was and is worth all the hype.
