Mar. 19, 2020
Spoiler alert: W O W 💫 ✨finally tried out @solbody cutesy Big Glow Energy set! (If you dont know, solbody is a sister brand of Colourpop and they sell amazing stuff!) ✨packaging is the cutest, i love how theyre in clear bottles so you can really see the shimmer and how thin/thick the liquid is! ✨the texture is not bad! I really thought the liquid oils would be heavy and sticky. Its light enough on the skin with a gorgeous glow 💫 and i fell completely in love with it. Its also buildable too! The shimmering body powder was just STUNNING! I really didnt want to use it bc its so gorgeous on its palette! ✨result: i have used this trio at least 4 times and my expectations were not too high and not too low. I thought i would break out from the oils, i thought i would have a bad allergic reaction, i thought my chest wouldnt be able to breathe. But in all honesty, this trio was nearly perfect. I gained more confidence with these products! Its also super easy to wash off when youre done with your day. The powder is reaaally nice on your cheekbones as well and brow bone for extra shine and highlight! Collar bone areas, LIKE YAS! Would i repurchase? Yes! This would be great for date night, nice vacation in the bahamas 😂, festivals, etc! ✨ill also be going to SITW here at my hometown in VBVA and ill def be using this for a nice glow in the sunflawless skin (TRUST ME)
I’m pretty picky with my foundation and concealers - I like for them to be medium to full coverage, whilst still being a lightweight formula that leaves me skin dewy (or matte when I feel in the mood) and actually looks like SKIN! I’m not a fan of actually looking like I’m wearing caked layers on makeup on! This gem, is for all my gals and guys who want that flawless finish! ✨ the formula is super light weight, however has quite a bit of coverage: this means that it’s super acne friendly! I find that with acne, little is more - with a product like the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, you’re able to go in with a super light layer over the skin and then in “problem areas”, go over with a little extra product to cover up pigmentation, acne and scars! ✨ super versatile - you’re able to have a nice slightly dewy finish with this product, but if you’re after a more matte finish, go in with a setting powder and you’re good to go! ✨ doesn’t cling to dry patches - I get quite dry around my acne scars and acne prone areas, so foundation tends to grab to those areas and emphasises texture - I don’t experience that with this product in the slightest! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️HOLY GRAIL FOUNDATION ✨
SKIN TYPE: acne prone, combination, dehydrated PRODUCT: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Shade: 4 (light skin with golden undertones) I am super late to the Armani Beauty foundation hype but I am so glad I tried it out this past year! I have been searching for a noncomedogenic foundation that would smooth out my skin without clinging to my dry patches from eczema or exacerbate my acne. I’ve tried SO MANY foundations that claimed to do just that but either made me super oily at the end of the day, highlighted my dryness, or made acne worse! This has been the only foundation that has made my face look amazing and clear with a finish that looks just like glowing skin! I’ve applied this with my fingers, a dense brush, and a sponge and it always applied beautifully without wearing out or oxidizing throughout the day. And it matches my skin tone perfectly. For CosDNA lovers, it currently only has dimethicone with a rating of 1 as a potential acne irritant but other than that, nothing!!! At $64 for 1 fl oz. or $42 for 0.6 oz this definitely is one of the most luxurious products on the market. However if you’re willing to splurge or if you’ve been desperately searching for THE FOUNDATION after trying so many, I definitely recommend you give this a shot! 💕Bare minerals Complexion Rescue
✨What are the claims? A clean, multitasking tinted moisturizer that combines hydrating skincare benefits & spf with naturally radiant, sheer to medium coverage. It is for all skin types & tones. With SPF 30. ✨Key ingredients; plant-derived squalene; quenches dry skin with all day hydration that feels light & refreshing. Mineral electrolytes; helps replenish skins moisture Titanium dioxide 6.2%; mineral based sunscreen ✨Texture/Consistency? It is a very whipped smooth cream texture, lightweight consistency. ✨My thoughts? I’ve used this product in the past & I recently picked this up again to be something lightweight while I’m breaking out. I’m usually a full coverage type of girl no matter my skin conditions, but I wanted to try to cut down on everything I could to try & figure out what was breaking me out. So I decided to grab this baby, that has skincare benefits & sunscreen! It’s the best! It’s super lightweight & I don’t even feel it on my skin, but it’s pretty medium coverage for me. I of course use a concealer on spots or under eyes after, but for the most part this helps to cover my redness & general blemishes on my face! It doesn’t have a smell in my opinion, & using it everyday, it lasts me about 6 months. I’m in the shade opal 01, since I’m super fair and it worked great for me. This has been great lightweight bb gel cream that lasts for hours & doesnt crease. It’s awesome & acne friendly. ✨Price Vs. Size? It’s 1.18oz for $33 so it’s kind of pricey! But it was perfect for me, I’ll probably re purchase again before summer to try it out this summer!Thin, cheap foundation for acne-prone skin
About the foundation: The Ordinary - Serum Foundation 30ml is a lightweight medium formula that comes 21 shades across 9 categories ranging from very deep to very fair. The foundation has a natural look and does not feel heavy once applied. It’s comes in a matte, plastic bottle with a pump. (Glass pippet can be purchased separately.) It is a water-based foundation free of alcohol, oil, gluten and nuts. It does have silicone. (It is also cruelty-free.) It has a pH of 6.00-8.25. My thoughts: I really like this foundation. (I have had it for a year.) It is very liquidy, but it packs a lot of pigment. The shade closet to my skin tone is 3.2 N, but is still a little bit too warm-leaning. This shade definitely oxidizes. You can only get it at a Deciem store or the Deciem/Ordinary website, which made me feel like I was playing foundation roulette. THE SHADE RANGE SUCKS. 3.2 N is the third-to-last darkest shade. What makes it good for acne-prone skin? It is a thin formula, which helps it not look cakey over active acne or scarring. The neutral pH level makes it less likely that it will be irritating to your skin. Recommend? Yes.🌟Dry skin/acne friendly makeup primer🌟
🌟What are the claims? SMASHBOX Photo finish primer oil is a ultra light, fast absorbing face oil that doubles as a face primer & giving your skin a moisturized glow! It is for dry, sensitive or combo skin, & all skin tones! It’s specifically formulated for, dullness, dryness, mature skin & uneven texture! 🌟Texture/Consistency? It’s a very thin, light oil. It’s very smooth & not sticky at all. 🌟My thoughts? I got this in October of 2019 & I’ve been loving it all winter! I have one for myself & one for my makeup kit & they both get used so much! 😍 It is so smooth & doesn’t feel oily at all on my skin. It doesn’t make my makeup look patchy or crease either. It’s been great for my sensitive skin, and hasn’t irritated my acne either! It has nourishing oils, jojoba, almond, apricot & sunflower seed oils to help aid in natural antioxidants so it’s helped my acne tremendously! This stuff is super bomb & has no smell in my opinion so it doesn’t affect me at all! It looks great under all foundations that I’ve tried it with, and my clients love it too! Great for clients with sensitive & irritated skin, or dry mature skin! It has a dropper application & a glass bottle which I really like as well. Defiantly would recommend! 🌟Price Vs. Size? It’s 1oz for $42, which is pretty hefty! But it’s a skincare/makeup double so it’s worth it!ACNE-FRIENDLY MAKE UP-KOSAS
I can say that I love all of the Kosas products because they’re acne-friendly. I have sensitive combination skin and it easily breaks out when I use makeup products. But their products doesn’t make my skin break out which I’m super impressed! I really like this blush and I like that it has clean ingredients! It is lovely and looks like a natural flush. The highlighter is a bonus and the palette will last a long time. It’s a good everyday blush!✨ What is it: An ultra-blendable powder blush and highlighter palette in versatile duos of balancing, brightening, foolproof, clean, and skin-cushioning formulas. Who is it for: All skin types. How to use: Using a brush, apply blush to the apples of the cheeks, and blend up and out.FENTY BRONZERS
SKIN TYPE: acne prone, combination, dehydrated, warm toned light skin. PRODUCT: Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Bronzer in Inda Sun and Fenty Beauty Matte Match Stix in Amber These bronzers are wonderfully subtle. You don't have to worry about over-bronzing or looking orange. Instead, you look like a chiseled, defined goddess who looks fresh from vacation! They fall more on the cool toned side so it’s perfect for contouring. For acne prone people, like me, I’d be wary of the coconut oil in the match stix. It does dry to almost a powdery finish but I’ve been applying this only on areas where I don’t break out. Definitely check them out!

are pore bubbling masks worth it? 🧼🛁💬
since COVID has started, I know many people are on new (or refining old) skincare journeys and I’ve recently been experiencing some dryness/dehydrating as the winter rolls around, which also aggravates my already oily skin. I’ve worked in the beauty industry for a while and also was formerly an esthetician, so I can get picky with skincare and ingredients. ‼️for reference, my skin type is: combo (oily/dehydrated), formerly acneic, hyperpigmentation prone, and sensitive 🔬I’ve used Dr. Jart in the past and love that it’s a Korean, science-backed brand so I was stoked to try this Porecting Solution Mask! this mask promises fresh, clear glowing skin that deeply cleanses and purifies pores. the mask contains charcoal and saponine, which creates the bubbling effect you see in the above photo. this product does not contain sulfates, paragons, are phthalates. 🛁when I first took it out of its package, I thought there were *two* masks per package instead of one, but if you read the instructions, there’s actually a “mask film” on the actual mask itself that you’re supposed to remove, so make sure to do that! the actual mask is thick and full of product while the mask film is thinner and lighter in color. the directions also give you a tip to massage the mask to release the bubbling/foaming effect - I did this mask with my mom at the same time in separate rooms and she totally didn’t read the instructions so her mask didn’t bubble at all, so I would suggest to definitely massage the mask. 💬I left it on for 20 minutes and it continued to bubble about 5-10 minutes in, then stopped bubbling. you can hear the bubbles pop as the mask sits on your face, which is kinda weird but cool. the mask didn’t slip off AT ALL which is also a huge, even when I put a sweatshirt on over my head. after taking it off, the serum took about another 10 minutes to soak into my skin and my face felt super smooth and my pores looked tighter and more clean. I have a few sebaceous filaments on my nose that I sometimes pick at and as I was rubbing the serum into my skin, I saw that some of the sebaceous filaments on my nose were sloughing off (which is gross, but speaks to how well the product worked)! overall, I would definitely recommend and use this again! if you have oily skin or otherwise clogged pores, sebaceous filaments, blackheads, etc. I would suggest this for you. even if you have dry/normal skin, this would be a good option since my skin didn’t feel dried out at all afterward, even in my dry spell now, and felt rather hydrated and plump. five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

DON’T try these at home!
With so many self- proclaimed beauty gurus in the world today, it’s very easy to get sucked into the DIY trend. Most experts and skincare specialists will tell you these homemade concoctions are not as good as they are made to be. Here are 5 ingredients you should not put on your face and why. 1. Essential Oils- The fragrant portion of plants is what makes essential oils. Modern science has revealed how fragrant oils cause problems for the skin. In the long run components in essential oils can significantly irritate and damage the skin. 2. Lemon Juice 🍋- Lemons are extremely acidic, which will irritate your skin. You can experience excessive redness, dryness, and skin peeling. Using lemons on your skin can cause more damage then benefit to your skin. 3. Coconut Oil- This ingredient causes a lot of debate amongst my followers, but fact is a fact, coconut oil is highly comedogenic. This means that the oil clogs pores on your face. When you apply coconut oil to your face it lays on the surface and is not able to be absorbed into the skin due to its large molecules. It can cause breakouts, blackheads, and whiteheads. 4. Witch Hazel- Here is another debate stirring ingredient. A lot of my patients and followers swear by witch hazel because of its immediate results on absorbing oil on the skin. What they fail to understand that it is not only absorbing the excess oils, but it is also stripping your skin of its natural oils. This can be very damaging to your skin and it’s natural protecting barrier, causing unnatural sensitized and dry skin. 5. Toothpaste- Such a popular trend and so harmful to your skin. Toothpaste contains high levels of baking soda which will mess with your skin’s ph level. This can lead to redness and burning of the skin. Toothpaste is a horrible option for your blemishes and instead I would recommend THE inkey LIST - Succinic Acid Acne Treatment As tempting as it is to try natural remedies at home, do your skin a favor and resort to stabilized and researched ingredients and products.
Preserving My Curls Overnight
This is how I preserve most of my hairstyles overnight! I hear many people complain about how their bonnet or scarf is always falling off their head and ending up on the floor once they wake up, I was having the same issue! That is when I decided to create a wrap that would stay on throughout the night while protecting your curls. I hand make them myself and sale on Etsy (shop name is Candee Wraps) if you are interested! 😊
